recently, i've had some troubles with keeping myself entertained in the roleplaying department. whether it's struggling to find the muse for plots i couldn't quite muster up the muse for in the first place, or throwing out plots and realising i didn't particularly want to do them - they're just sort of things that happen, you know how it goes.
what i am:
- semi-advanced to advanced. i generally try to mirror responses unless i'm having troubles, in which case they'll be shorter - or, if i'm invested in the plot, they're prone to becoming longer. my posts can vary from 400/500 words and above.
- semi-active. there will be days where i don't feel like posting on a certain thread, but as long as i'm not pressured to reply (aka please do not continuously like my posts), then i'll generally get around to it. i'm prone to forgetting and/or losing muse, though. that's something that should be stated.
- a fan of worldbuilding. if i have the chance to create worlds, then it's chaos for everyone involved. i tend to get too invested or i end up going into a tangent while writing. this is heavily dependent on plot, but there's generally some worldbuilding involved.
what i'd like:
- someone who's semi-advanced at least, with at least 500 words (a few paragraphs) of roleplay if possible. i understand having shorter days, but i find it hard to respond when i'm given nothing to work with.
- semi-active. you don't have to be the most active in the world and, no, you don't have to tell me if you decide to drop the plot. if you decide in like, a few months that hey, actually, i wanna do that plot - then my inbox is open. i'm not gonna shout at you for something that i'm prone to doing.
- someone who enjoys plotting. it's not very fun when a partner expects you to do all the heavy lifting and acts like they're just along for the ride; roleplaying is between multiple writers to create a story, and getting involved in the plotting is the best part imo. i'd love if you were down to talk about plot ideas and ways to push on from a certain scenario.
some ideas:
fantasy. either set in a historical setting (ancient greece/rome/egypt are good subjects, as well as "general medieval" and victorian) or in a modern setting, fantasy tends to be a fairly good topic. the world it's set in doesn't have to be real, and it can either be low-fantasy (mild fantasy in a realistic world) or high-fantasy (everything is fantasy: the rp). i'm particularly fond of dragons and the fair folk, and i enjoy mythological beings (the greek and/or roman gods), too. it's a wide genre, though i currently have no plot ideas.
crime. anywhere from the 1960s right up to the modern era and even into the future; criminal organisations are something that i enjoy roleplaying, as well as drama-based plots including murder mysteries and investigations, though i prefer to play a criminal rather than a detective, but a partner who wishes to play a detective/investigator/etc is super welcome. often makes things more interesting. again, no real plot ideas at present - but it's there.
historical. generally mixed with supernatural or fantasy elements, victorian and the ancient trio (greece/rome/egypt) are some of my strongest elements. ancient japan is a semi-okay subject, and i can do tudors too. there are also other periods i'm familiar with, but i'm also pretty good at using the good ol' wikipedia if i don't know something and you have a plot. again, no plots; the only thing in mind right now would be victorian demon hunters.
supernatural/paranormal. generally of the demon-kind. demon summoners or hunters, you name it. i'm okay with the typical werewolf/vampire/ghost stuff if the plot is good, but it does require a good plot for me to be interested. the only plot idea i have in mind surrounding this is actually a fallen angel/demon sort of thing, following the story of a fallen angel accused of a crime they did not commit, and a demon who was summoned and needs to find their summoner to get back into their original world. other than that, i got nothin'.
anything else. yep. i found out that i probably can't do slice-of-life unless the plot is extremely interesting, but i'm fairly open to a multitude of genres. i'm trying to expand my horizons, as it were. lul.
series-based. primarily shinsekai yori, hunter x hunter, wolf children (a little harder to do but c'est la vie), skulduggery pleasant, the raven cycle (dodgy), all for the game, shadowhunters (kind of), and some more. there's also pokemon, which i have a sort-of plot for but it's based vaguely from the concept of a nuzlocke comic, but if anyone's interested in hearing it then noice. if not then we shall see. again, all of these are very plot-dependent. there's a lot more than these, and you can just ask if you want to know if i'm into anything specific.
