I got my first TokyoTreat box from Japan :0
Though of course since my anxiety is stupid and everyone else is panicking the back of my mind keeps going like "It came from Asia what if it's contaminated with the virus"

I work in a small restaurant and to be completely honest, I’m scared of them closing it down.... what am I going to do for income to pay my rent??? But yeah. My house is definitely one of the lesser fortunate being effected by other people’s stupidity of panic-shopping. I had to order my kitty some food from Chewy because Walmart was out

In my TokyoTreat box one of the things I got is strawberry flavored Coca Cola. It's not bad by any means, it's actually pretty good (almost as good as the strawberry pocky I got) but it just tastes like a weird combo

So surgery was a success - the first time I peed afterwards it was the color of red wine, but it's normal again, and little kidney stone fragments the size of small sand are already leaving my body.
Bookshelf guy is coming tomorrow morning to finish my bookcases (yay!) but is bringing his 7 and 9 year old boys with him (boo!). I'm trying to clean up my living room as best I can by removing breakables, but lets face it, there are just SO MANY, because kids were never an option for us and the cats haven't figured out how to open glass doors with magnetic latches.
Oh, and the lawnmower repair? $633. My husband is going to have a complete and total meltdown when he wakes up tonight.
I am worried my job will possibly shut down if they ban travel, but then again, the bookcase guy said something about some hotels are trying to be forced to let people stay for free during this? Add that to the fact that the Derby was moved to September and the refunds from that alone (not to mention the large show that was supposed to be at the Expo center this weekend being cancelled) are going to run into the tens of thousands of dollars pretty much ASAP, and my business might really take a hit. I'm supposed to go back to work Friday, but I guess like everyone else I'll just play the wait and see game.

Oh, and my mom is starting to have and anxiety crisis over the virus now, because today she realized there were no spaghetti-o's etc. left at their grocery store to give her granddaughter for the rest of the month that she's out of school (even though I told her about that happening here days ago, because everything here happens faster than it does in her small little town). I'm doing what I can to calm her down, but she was seriously freaking out.

working in a grocery store, we don’t get time off - in fact, overtime has been at an all time high bc we do not have the labor to keep up with the freaking panic and we are all trying our gosh darned hardest to keep those dang shelves stocked
just about whole state is on lockdown - restaurants are all closed, schools are all closed. Just about the only thing open: grocery stores
and lucky me that I work in one
it’s absolutly crazy.
It’s also ridiculous because they are like ok no gatherings of 10 or more
So where does everyone go? To the dang grocery store
And all us people who work in grocery stores?? What are we not at risk? We don’t count in the rest of the population? No isolation for us

We don’t count in the rest of the population? No isolation for us When I went and saw the insanity for myself at Walmart, I actually thought of you, because I knew your job had to be getting slammed. My husband said if they did close Lowe's down, he could basically walk into his former Walmart and most likely get hired on the spot to keep up with demands. If my work does stay open, I have a feeling I'll be working overtime every single day, since the desk manager always plays this "I have nobody to watch the kids, so I have to come in an hour late" game (I call it a game because one of the nights I had to stay over because she "couldn't get there" I found out she was out at the bars drinking while her husband was home all night with the kids) due to schools and daycares closing down. I honestly would prefer they shut the hotel down over letting every Tom, ****, and Harry stay for free, because the part of town I'm in would bring some REALLY shady characters in, and the police dept announced tonight that they are going to take everything but extreme emergencies over the phone as opposed to showing up in person, which doesn't bode well for me, a short white girl (I promise, in this case my race matters) who is ALONE in the hotel all night long trying to wrangle the seedier clientele from the surrounding neighborhood that are doing/destroying who knows what in the rooms.

The Coronavirus situation here in Colorado is insane. Our governor decided to close down all sit down areas at restaurants yesterday. I have never been so thankful that my work is drive thru and walk up, because for now my job is safe. Time will tell if we get slammed with business or not.
My school has now decided to go online for the whole rest of the semester and also extended Spring Break by a week (which was originally this week). I think that’s because they want to give professors time to get an online curriculum put together. Not sure how to feel about it, since I’m really disappointed that I won’t get to do my human dissection lab in person anymore. But my other classes should be okay enough online.

Things in Missouri are fairly calm for now... There have been a lot of new cases and a lot of restaurants and things are doing drive-through and pick up only, and Walmart is constantly out of food (they started closing at 11) but im thankful I live in a small enough town that we can still function since we have a lot of farms and smaller markets. Other than not being able to go to work, im thankful that me and my family are safe in the house right now.
lowkey though, I am so sick of seeing COVID-19 things everywhere on social media... its depressing to see whats going on in other cities and states and countries.
Also, if any of you ever need anything, like food or necessities, let me know and I'll do what I can to help you.

I'll try. Its hard though when it gets tangled with my real life, since this is where I go to talk about my life.
In other irl news, the bookshelf guy flaked on me, and I wasn't home to deal with the issue, since I've been readmitted to the hospital again until at least Friday due to my white blood cell count plummeting because the kidney stone they blasted tried to treat my kidney tube like an hourglass and dump all the small fragments at once, causing an inch long by quarter inch wide stone blockage.
Work messaged me while I was in surgery asking me to come back a day early, at which point I had to tell them that I wouldn't even be back by my initial return date.
