Well, with Crowfeather's Trial (but I'm calling him Crowgeezer from now on, so I'm calling it Crowgeezer's Trial) getting the plot and cover just recently, I thought I'd mention two cats who are likely to share the spotlight with *sarcasm* everyone's favorite emo cat: Nightcloud and Breezepelt, and what kind of characters they'd be in this latest super edition.
Nightcloud = I'm hoping we get more of her personality besides being snappy towards Crowgeezer and being overprotective towards Breezepelt. Plus, I'm also hoping that Nightcloud buckles down and gives Breezepelt a stern talking-to about joining the Dark Forest (just not ostracizing him like ThunderClan had in Dovewing's Silence), not letting him completely off the hook. Finally, I hope that she tries the best she can to be a good mate to Crowgeezer (as long as he becomes a good mate to her in return).
Breezepelt = Oh boy, this guy. He was sympathetic in Power Of Three but then became a jackass in Omen Of The Stars. Sure, Crowgeezer wasn't a good dad to him, but I believe that Breezepelt should've been held responsible for his actions. Anyway, I'm hoping that whatever goodness Breezepelt has left or whatever, he really does make it up to WindClan and try (keyword being "try") and bond with Crowgeezer some more. And this is coming from a guy who really hates what he's done.
What do you guys think? What do you think Nightcloud and Breezepelt would be like in Crowgeezer's Trial?

I'm also want to see Crowfeather's relationship with his granddaughters, Smokepaw and Brindlepaw and maybe even Heathertail. Also get some extra information of his options of his half-clan kits.

Dang, I almost forgot his granddaughters (WindClan granddaughters anyway). Plus, I bet Heathertail would want Crowgeezer to spend time with them not just because they're his grandkids but also because she's his daughter-in-law as well as his first apprentice.

I actually think Breezepelt will be a lot like Thistleclaw- not personality-wise, but seem pretty respectable around his own clanmates, and only a jerk when no one's looking (though not sure if this will be completely true, since Breezepelt verbally abused Jayfeather pretty badly right in front of his patrol and they barely bat an eyelid, even Ashfoot). But I mean for the most part I think he'll be chill. Maybe not super chill, since even before the whole secret coming out Heathertail thought he was a bit annoying, and she's his closest friend. My point is, I don't think he'll be the insane murderer we saw at the moonpool- he might not regret what he did, but there's also no point for him to openly show that behavior, especially since he was lucky enough to not get exiled. Like Blackstar, I think he'll leave his ruthlessness behind him but continue to have an edge about him.
... I honestly don't know about Nightcloud. I hope she'll back off on being so protective of her criminal son that got off with little to no punishment- and maybe she will, after all, she was only ever protective of him when Crowfeather gave him a hard time. Nightcloud seems pretty loyal to Breezepelt, but she also came off as very loyal to WindClan. Maybe she'll distance herself from her son in disapproval of what he did during the dark forest battle. I don't know though, I've always had a really hard time understanding or predicting her. She can be anything in this book.

Plot wise, my guess is this:
After the final confrontation with Breezepelt at the final battle things become more complicating for the family. Breezepelt is outed as a "criminal" and Nightcloud becomes more defensive of her son. It makes sense, whether he feels bad for his actions or not, some kin will always try to defend kin. Dovewing did it to Ivypool when no one else would, while in other cases Bumble was non-sympathetic about his sister being discriminated at, or even threatened with capital punishment of death by other clanmates, imo is pretty messed up. I don't want another Mapleshade incident, where not a single cat is on Breezepelt side. At least one cat will probably support him, so my guess is Heather and Night. But they'll both acknowledge what he did and try to insist he put it behind him because he took the new oath, etc, and the war is over now.
Since this is the in between book for Oots and AVoS, I can see more Breeze and Heather development for sure. Especially since Heather is already a queen by the time AVoS starts, personally I already saw the build up of their relationship prior to all this, but other still disagree. Hopefully this will help with more insight on how they became a thing even after the reveal of him training in the Dark Forest. I feel like the argument that Breezepelt didn't attack his own clanmates, or kill anyone (though he did almost, but Ivy stopped him and he did try to kill Lion) will be used a lot. But it's a gray area depending on where you're coming from. Also I feel like Breezepelt may still be on a path of self-destruction so cats like Heather, Night and even Crow are trying to weigh in and help him.
With more focus on their eventual family, I wonder if another struggle will be Breezepelt keeping him away from his grandkits. If I was in Breeze's position, hypothetically, I'd keep him away from my kids too if I've dealt with past neglect as a kit/apprentice. Naturally one would be overprotective, I think Nightcloud might even do this too, because of Crow's treatment of Breeze. On the other hand Heathertail will probably be more sympathetic because Crowfeather was her mentor after all.
The whole thing about being caught in the middle may either mean Crowfeather is trying to get his clan to trust his son again, or that between the struggling clan he also has to deal with his son's hatred either way.
With Nightcloud, there's A LOT more that needs to be filled in, between her and Crow. From all we know is that he approached her with becoming mates, their relationship was strained, and she tried to make it work, but it didn't work out....she just couldn't be his number 1 no matter what, poor thing. But if you've noticed in AVoS she's more chill, well back to her chill self like before the drama, even her and Leafpool were shown defending ShadowClan when Rowan gave up his leadership, together. I think she's a genuinely okay cat, but the whole family drama just made her more sour side show more, and that's understandable because she was upset. I'm actually really excited to see more of Nightcloud because from what we already knew is that she was a well respected cat in WindClan and Crow had used her rep to gain back trust from the clan. So I want to see more of her, cause imo she's considered to be an emotional character, in a more negative light, but also not inconsistent like characters such as Clear Sky.
What ever happens in this book, we do see the end results already. Breeze and Crow can at least stand one another to be on the same patrol, while Crow and Night's nature of relationship is still up in the air. I wonder if they broke up or not.
