amberstone. out hunting.
Their circumstance made him wary to a certain degree, but he didn't allow it to unfurl over his expression; he was sharply aware of how much difference a mentor's attitude could make for an apprentice. Of course, he wasn't flawless (he had plenty of that in store), but at least, during the times he spent with Dogpaw, he wanted to be the best individual he could be. A pillar, a defensive specialist, a guardian - whatever it took, he wanted to be that in order to keep the younger tom next to him safe. "Stay close to me and don't go too far," he said, glancing back at his apprentice with a firm yet gentle glimmer within his amber gaze. "I'm afraid we'll have to decrease the length of our hunting session for today." Danger was, of course, something to be cautious of, but the prey pile was thin, and there was no way for any cat to remain sharp-minded when their stomach was empty. Still, he would remain weary for the threat that had disrupted the clan's mundane routine.
( edit: hey dawn, sorry for my late replies ^^" to keep in time with the roleplay, should we say that they already hunted nearby and came back? )

ebonybird. "You can join if you promise to take us out of camp. We'll even tell you the reason why if you agree." There was no denying it. Even he acknowledged that Vixenpaw would become a force to reckon with. Great Star Clan, she already had a strong presence. Half of him was curious to see what kind of achievements she would succeed in establishing and the potentials she would conquer as a warrior. As for the other half, well...
After briefly observing the fierce apprentice, he sat down with his unusually long tail curling over his black paws. Although he leaned over a little so that he could match Vixenpaw's eye level, his shadow remained yawning over her smaller form. "Oh?" Despite the twinkle of amusement within his tired, green eyes, they were surprisingly stern behind their luster. "Well, as tempting as this adventure sounds, I can't simply say 'yes' and let the two of us waltz outside."
Even if it was desperately urgent (which, by the look of the apprentice, it didn't seem to be), informing the clan and keeping it together came first. If every individual started going left and right wherever they pleased at a time like this, there was bound to be an overlooked gap - and one gap was all it took to grant access for a wild, wandering beast. Just as he was about to accentuate his disapproval regarding her deal, a modulated yet animated voice intercepted his train of thought.
"Well, this a rare pair to spot," said none other than a familiar, magnificent grey tom. And so here the noisy one emerges, he thought with a small (albeit half-affectionate), internal sigh. Sure enough, when he raised his head, he was facing Quailfeather, who was nonchalantly leaning his weight on his right paw. The massive tom's head was slightly tipped, indicating unadulterated curiosity, and his vivid gaze soon shifted over to that of Vixenpaw's. "What's going on here? You two aren't planning some grand adventure now, are you?"
"I'm not you, you big grey furball."

Hollystrike ;;
At the suggestion of a more private place, Hollystrike wondered if they were actually going to go through with this. He was fine with it, but it was a little...nerve-wracking? Yeah. He followed easily, long legs making quick work of the terrain ahead of them. The long grass didn't seem to bother him in the slightest - if anything, it seemed to be the ideal territory for him. Even if he hadn't been born here, he suspected that he would have found it sooner or later.
"That sounds like a good plan," he nodded firmly, and then faltered. "I mean...the vixen is unlikely to return to her den, right? If that's the case, then you should destroy it. I mean, I'm..." he waved his tail, "less likely to be too badly harmed."
Did that come out wrong? Ah, too late to fix it, now. He twitched an ear and scented the air a few times. Mossthorn was right - he didn't know where the den was. That would be the first step, then! He continued scenting around until the stale scent of the vixen passed his nose. Immediately, he crouched to the ground and glanced to the other warrior.
"We just follow her scent until it's fresh."
Ghostpaw ;;
The slender tom twitched an ear and angled his head to the side. He understood that - it was why the Medicine Cat and her apprentice existed, after all. Did that mean that Redwish was here to help with kits in the future? That seemed to be the case, though he wasn't sure why. Sure, it was an important job; but wouldn't a nursing queen be more use? He decided not to ask that, and instead nodded.
Ghostpaw glanced between the two before dipping his head again and padding out, tail flicking behind him. He didn't see much of a point in sticking with the awkward atmosphere, and so he ducked out in the politest way he knew how.
Vixenpaw ;;
Her curiosity was too much at the scent of loners and rogues that lingered, getting ever closer to the Camp; but it seemed that Ebonybird was not, in fact, falling for her attempts at being charming. Vixenpaw's eyes rolled and she turned her head, sitting down heavily and lashing her tail back and forth. This was not the fist time that her attempts at exploring had been denied, and it most certainly would not be the last. It was frustrating, sometimes. Her plans were often foiled even when she was subtle, and she wondered if it was because others seemed to watch her. Perhaps it was because of her unknown origins, perhaps it was because of the fox thing - either way, she didn't like it. She didn't feel trusted.
The bitter feeling, however, dissipated at the sight of her mentor. The she-cat's ears perked and she almost grinned, her tail waving as she stood up, standing on her tip-toes as she watched Quailfeather. Ever-so-sweetly, she dipped her head down as she watched, eyes gleaming with a subtle mischievousness.
"You can take me out of camp, right?" she asked, her voice dripping with honey sweetness. "It can't be that dangerous if we're close to the camp..."
Naturally, she'd find her way out even if neither of these two were going to take her. It was frustrating, yes, but she could pretend that she'd just settle in the camp and do nothing of, uh, naughtiness.
"I need to practice...battle moves," it sounded like a decent enough excuse, in her mind.

Riverwillow was returning from a quick morning hunt, she was a firm believer that whatever she took out of the fresh-kill pile for herself needed to be doubled in return. When she had woken up this morning she had wandered towards the fresh-kill pile and lazily grabbed a mouse. Now that she was returning, she dropped down a rather large rabbit. Feeling rather proud of herself, she decided to take the rabbit to the elder's den and see if any of the elders were hungry.

((Im glad lol, sorry i was writing out a form for another rp and it took me a while.))
Wrenstorm had been relaxing for the most part outside of elder's den. She enjoyed watching the camp bustle and see her clan mates interacting. If she didn't choose to pester any other cat she liked to sit and observe. She watched Riverwillow deposit a rabbit in the fresh kill pile and nodded approvingly, a feeling of happiness rising in her chest as she realized Riverwillow was making her way to where Wrenstorm layed. She lifted herself into a sitting position, her whiskers twitching in a bemused greeting. "Good hunting?" the she-cat questioned, glancing between the younger she-cat and the freshkill pile where the rabbit was now lane atop of.
((Oh cool! leafy sorry it might be rough at first i dont think i've rped a mentor/apprentice type thing so bare with me))
Lotuswaves was a little nervous in all honesty, she was worried she wouldn't be the best mentor but she was still proud and ecstatic to have been given an apprentice of her own. She spent almost all night planning lessons, taking up most of her sleep hours but she didn't mind. The excited anxiety that flew through her was helping her stay awake and alert at the moment. Her eyes glanced around the camp, trying to spot her apprentice. For today she wanted mainly to teach basics of hunting and also give the apprentice a layout of the area around the camp. Something a little light.

Riverwillow grinned happily, "Oh absolutely! There were several larger rabbits out today, but I felt the one would be enough for now." she mewed. "How are you today, Wrenstorm? Are you hungry? I can grab you something real quick!" she offered happily. Crowstrike had been the one who found Riverwillow when she was a kit, but Wrenstorm had a large part of taking care of her as a kit, and therefore held a special place in Riverwillow's heart.
(I hope you don't mind me adding in that part about Wrenstorm helping raise Riverwillow, I thought it would be good for plot )

(Haha no worries. I was on the old site so hopefully it'll be quick getting back to it lol)
Applepaw ran out of the apprentices's den, her eyes alert with excitement. Today was her first time out of the camp and StarClan knew how she was beyond excited. What would they do? Patrolling? Battle skills?
She searched around for her mentor, Lotuswave, and as her eyes laid on her, she smiled happily and ran to her. "Lotuswave! I'm ready! she exclaimed, running around her. "What are we doing first?"

[ ghostpaw left bc he had nothing else to say & there was no other way to interact guess u found it lmao ]
Ashstar;;
Ashstar's border patrol had been relatively uneventful. Though there had been the scents of loners and rogues, there were always loners and rogues passing by the territory, nowadays. He supposed that Sagestar's hospitality had aided them enough that they decided to stick around more often, but...well. He didn't enjoy it. Tolerated it, maybe. As long as a loner or rogue did not overstay their welcome, then he supposed he could accept it, for now.
Having returned not too long ago, the lean tom paused briefly by the fresh-kill pile - now stocked up - and picked up a small bird. With his food in his jaws, he padded over to a shady area and settled down, pulling out the feathers carefully so that they could be used for the nursery nests. It took him some time, but he eventually had a mostly-plucked bird with a small pile of feathers next to him. He began to eat, and his stomach told him that yes, this was a good action.
Restoring his energy was a good idea, he realised. He wasn't sure how much he had left to do. He had to find Mallowpaw, maybe take him out? Or maybe another warrior had taken him out...hmm. Then he'd have to try to deal with figuring out a Deputy, and StarClan knew that that was a mess in itself, as he couldn't quite think of anyone at present. He had some time to figure it out, but so far - nope. He exhaled lowly and shook his head, continuing to eat his bird quietly.

{ Right, xD }
Emberpaw Nursery Replying to anyone
"Er..." She said awkwardly, staring after the departing tom. She had thought they had been getting along well, but as she thought about it, Redwish had sort of pushed him away. She dipped her head to her mother, and excited the nursery, "Goodbye, Redwish,"
As she quietly pawed her way out into the camp, she noticed Ghostpaw sitting alone. She cringed, knowing that this was probably her fault. She wanted to go over to him and apologize, but for some reason, she felt drawn to the fresh-kill pile. Sorry, Ghostpaw. She said internally.

Briarsong to Ashstar Response to: Suikura Briarsong made her way back to camp, slightly tired. On her way back from her excursion she had caught a tiny snake and decided to put it in the fresh-kill pile, rather than eat it. On her way towards the fresh-kill pile, she noticed Ashstar, who seemed to be busy eating. She approached him, rather reluctantly, as she didn't particularly want to bother him as he ate. "How are you today?" she smiled, her tone friendly. The she-cat was still torn on whether or not to bring the matter up, she was nearly sure that the Tom was not going to be a threat, and she didn't wish to overwhelm Ashstar with anything unnecessary, though this was also the only time she had seen him unbothered by another warrior since the death of their former leader, Sagestar. ' At the very least this is the time to be friendly.' she decided.
