What was the point of Millie yelling at Blossomfall so she can be sent to the Dark Forest? Blossomfall would never betray her Clan and the whole situation only made Millie look like a bad mother. And since this was obviously for plot filler, I doubt that we will ever see a scene of both Millie and Blossomfall apologizing to each other. The whole situation was pointless; it made both of Blossomfall's parents seem like they were terrible to her, and she wasn't really even needed for the Dark Forest.

The Erins were trying to get as many cats as they could?

Character development? They didn't really do much with the subplot, but it doesn't hurt to have interesting side characters. It also adds to the reasons why cats go to the Dark Forest. While some cats were there because they were evil and others were tricked, Blossomfall went to the Dark Forest as a form of self-punishment. And Blossomfall and Millie are never really seen talking to each other so who knows if they even fulyl made up at all?
It was also something for Millie. She pretty much gave up her entire life for a guy she just met and she is only now getting hit with the fact that her choice is not all sunshine and rainbows when her daughter gets crippled. It made her think back to her decision and I think her treatment of Blossomfall was a part of that. It's probably why she seemed so much better in Bramblestar's Storm. She fully accepted clan life for what it was not not what she thought her perfect life would be with Graystripe.
So while the Millie-Blossomfall thing didn't add much to the plot, it at least was interesting in some way and made some background characters more three-dimensional.

Blossomfall didn't go there because she was going to betray her clan, she went there because she felt like she'd get attention there, and that they'd at least aknowledge her, unlike Millie. Also later on she felt like she belonged there, like a punishment, for having negative feelings like jealousy toward Briarlight. And in all honesty, Millie and Graystripe are terrible parents. Millie would have neglected Blossomfall regardless of whether she went to the Dark Forest. And Graystripe would still stand by and do nothing while Millie verbally abuses their daughter. He's barely around the 3 B's anyways.

I always felt like Blossomfall should have betrayed ThunderClan. The DF could have easily done to her what they did to Breezepelt, turn her negative feelings about her family life into a hatred that she couldn't get rid of. While I don't like the cats involved,I actually enjoyed this subplot. A) It was a more human issue that is relatable. Developed the characters and C) Showed that things were still happening within the clan rather than the whole plot being focused on the Three(granted there were several other seemingly pointless side plots *coughDoveTigercough*) In my fantasy AU of TLH Breezepelt "befriends" Blossomfall and he helps in corrupting her and pulling her to the side of the DF. While the two do have some form of friendship, it's mostly Breezepelt using her. When the battle happens Blossom attacks Millie and it's revealed that she's been turned etc but she doesn't realise that the battle is to actually wipe out the Clans. She's been lead to believe that the DF cats were giving them the opportunity to get rid of those that wronged them and shame/weaken the clans. When DF cats attack Brairlight and Jayfeather in the medicine cat's den she realises that the DF is really just evil and abandons the Clans, not siding with the DF but unable to forgive her mother and her clanmates for not going anything about the way she was treated. She then goes on to join Jingo's group.
