For the last four non-DOTC arcs, a main character has been a medicine cat.
It started with Leafpool, then went to Jayfeather and Alderpaw.
Now Twigkit?
Why.

I doubt Twigkit is going to actually be one. Remember Hollyleaf? She followed Leafpool around for a bit, and became interested in medics. However, it turned out to be just a faze, and she got bored with it.
If Twigkit does pursue it, I hope it'll end up being a faze or something.

I doubt Twigkit is going to actually be one. Remember Hollyleaf? She followed Leafpool around for a bit, and became interested in medics. However, it turned out to be just a faze, and she got bored with it. If Twigkit does pursue it, I hope it'll end up being a faze or something. I hope it's just a phase. ThunderClan does NOT need 5 medicine cats (Jayfeather, Leafpool, Alderpaw, Twigkit, and technically Briarlight) |

I don't think Flametail counts tbh, he only had a pov like once or twice, just because a character has a pov doesn't necessarily make them a main character overall. Like it's fair to say Crowfeather, since he and Tawnypelt, etc, were main cats during the second series. So yeah that's fine, but Flametail? Not so much. Yellowfang too, she was a medicine cat before she became a main character in her OWN story.
Also the timing isn't right for ANOTHER apprentice. By the time Twigkit is old enough I'm pretty sure she'll be a normal warrior. I think the Erins only kept Leafpool around just so a cat can mentor Puddlekit, since Littlecloud is ancient, and Flametail was killed off. So it makes sense, ThunderClan doesn't need three medicine cats, and I'm pretty sure by the end of this series Leafpool or Squirrelflight are gonna kick the bucket along with some other senior cats. Alderpaw doesn't receive his name until like book 3 according to the blurbs, and that's already half way through the series. It really doesn't make sense for Twigkit to also become a medicine cat, she was young and it's wishful thinking on her part.

I think she just admires Alderpaw and wants to be like him, like most kits would. But by the time she's old enough I think she'll grow out of it and be a warrior

There wasn't a new medicine cat during OOTS. They must make up for it. I agree. It's way to soon for a fourth medicine cat and I really hope that the Erins don't make Twigkit a medicine cat. ThunderClan simply does not need him as one. |

I thought OOTS was just a simple continuation of the POT, since Dovekit and Ivykit are shown at the end of it, and when it picks back up, they're about to be apprentices, so that's at least a 6 moon time skip? Which didn't seem like much, lol.
