[ You have been a busy bee! Hopefully you get a bit of a break soon haha. Ewwy homework though. I am not good with homework. When I was in high school and all my teachers got to know me better, they didn't bother asking me for my homework xD Not something I should be proud of really, but it's funny.
I'm good. I have a week off work, so just chillin. ]

โItโs going fine,โ he dryly commented. He knew he should be a bit more engaged here, but he was being rather frank. He enjoyed how calm his mentor Eaglestrike was, but he wouldnโt be lying if he said the tomโs massive frame compared to his own smaller and slimmer one didnโt overwhelm him a bit. โI mean, Nightpaw is probably doing better than I amโ- she was a jack of all trades, or at least Darkpaw thought so- โbut at least I havenโt been killed yet.โ He had heard many stories- some legend, some fact- of apprentices meeting their deaths in all sorts of ways. He shuddered at how oddly fascinated he was with the idea of his demise- it terrified him, yes, but every so often he would see a friendly warrior and think that those claws could shred him, or that the falcons flying above could shred him, or he could fall down a manhole to the maw of Death. This was an intrusive behavior that otherwise got in the way of his tasks; yet he was too terrified that if he were to talk about it theyโd say he was a madman with a tongue coated with steel. โAt least I have not been killed yet.โ

[ Sorry for disappearing last night! ]
Snowfeather nodded, knowing that many cats had already gone out hunting - they would all have plenty to eat on this beautiful day. She curled her tail as she looked out to the busy city, and for a moment, she thought about how lucky her clan was to find a small, serene corner of the city. She looked back to Eaglestrike, "A patrol sounds like a good idea," she agreed. Often times new cats didn't know their boundaries, so it was important to keep up with the border patrols. "We can head towards the water fountain first-" the water fountain was a popular spot for many cats, and usually the clan tended to be a little lax about outsiders going there so long as they didn't overstep their boundaries, "-then we can go to the big park, I guess?" She added. The big park was another popular spot, and sometimes outsiders could be aggressive over food and whatnot. Scenting their boundaries reminds outsiders that they were on clan territories. EAGLESTRIKE | Camp | Snowfeather
Eaglestrike just nodded in response, getting to his feet. His limbs ached after having been kept in the same position for so long, and he took a couple of moments to stretch them out. When he finally felt ready, he looked over at Snowfeather. "Let's go then," he said with a half smile, before padding off in the direction of the fountain, gesturing with his tail for her to follow. It was a good idea of hers to check the water fountain - he had run into rogues there multiple times, though many weren't aggressive and only looking for a drink - and the big park also needed to be patrolled regularly by the clan, given what a good hunting spot it made.

Snowfeather was quick to jump into step beside Eaglestrike. Even though there were only the two of them, she felt safe with the stronger tom by her side. The white she-cat wasn't the best at self defense, and the tomcat was much more scary looking than she. After a few minutes of quietly walking towards the fountain, her eats perked in preparation for anything to disturb them, she looked at Eaglestrike. "So, uh, how have you been lately?" She asked, realizing she'd never really had just a simple, casual conversation with the usually stoic tom. Snowfeather herself wasn't usually closed off by any means, but some cats did intimidate her more than others. Like Stormstrike - she respected her deputy, but couldn't help feeling frightened by his demeanor sometimes. But while it was just the two of them walking she figured there was no better time than now to strike up a conversation. Maybe she'd learn something about Eaglestrike that she never had before.

Sedgepaw tilted her head curiously at Darkpaw. There he went again, with his strange, dark replies. But it wasn't unusual of the tom, so Sedgepaw didn't think much about it. Other than the fact that her paws were itching to do something fun. She glanced around the camp for a moment. Her mentor, Stormstrike, was out at the moment so he wouldn't be able to stop them. So she giggled to herself, "Let's go do something!" She suggested. "How about we go to the big park and chase some geese? That's always fun!" It was always fun but Stormstrike always reminded her of how it was dangerous and she could slip and fall into the water. But she never worried about that because she much preferred to just enjoy the moment while she lived it. "What do you say?" Her bushy tail swept over the ground as she began to fill with excitement.

EAGLESTRIKE | The Streets | Snowfeather
Eaglestrike had been surprised when Snowfeather had wanted to go out on patrol - the she-cat had always seemed... sort of high-maintenance to him and he didn't peg her for the sort that wanted to confront a potential rogue - but he didn't mind her company all the same. He knew that she was still a good warrior, after all, and she seemed nice enough. Of course, he had never had a proper conversation with her that was unrelated to their duties as a warrior, so this assumption was based on what he'd seen and heard around camp.
It wasn't uncommon for him to have that sort of relationship with his clanmates. Apart from his sister, he tended to keep his distance from other cats, and while he wouldn't shy away from small talk, other cats tended not to approach him for such conversations. He didn't mind at all, knowing that he might appear somewhat intimidating to other cats, and considering that he didn't make much of an effort to talk with those around him, he couldn't blame them for returning the favour. But sometimes, that could make his life slightly more lonely.
"I've been rather well, I suppose. Though I had to get up for the dawn patrol this morning, so that wasn't all that fun," he replied politely, giving her another small smile when he looked over at her, "How have you been?"

Snowfeather felt a slight breeze go through her well-groomed pelt. The morning had turned into afternoon, and it was starting to become a bit cooler. Ahead, clouds drifted by in the sky. For a few seconds, she felt really at peace. After the stress of her sister having been injured, it was nice. She listened to Eagelstrike's response and nodded her head as she did to show that she was listening, her ears perked. She smirked at his comment about getting up for a dawn patrol. She found she wasn't often in the dawn patrol, but the few times she was, she'd hated it. There wasn't enough time in the morning to swipe her tongue through her fur and do the patrol. "I'm not a fan of the morning patrol either," she agreed. Then responded to his question, "I've been well, too. Doveheart got into a bit of strife with a dog, and I think I almost joined StarClan from worry." She said it a bit sheepishly, knowing some cats think she has the tendency to over-react, but she just couldn't help herself. "Other than that... I've not done much today - other than help clean the elders nests." Despite the fact that was an apprentice task, Snowfeather did tend to prefer daily camp chores over patrols - that being said, sometimes she did like to get out of camp.

~Open~ CloverPrint lay in the Queen's den, her soft green eyes focused on her sleeping kits, OpalKit and FeatherKit. Images of how the two would look once they were older flashed through her head and her chest swelled with pride. Maneuvering around the slumbering kits, CloverPrint stood up and stretched, her ginger fur rippling as she did so. Laying around all day had certainly done a number on her stamina but the queen managed to keep up the muscle she had had before her kitting. The she-cat bounded out of the den, and took a deep breath in. The chilled evening air flooded her lungs as CloverPrint walked out into an open space. The sounds of rumbling monsters could be heard in the distance. Living near the country side had it's advantages, but also had some draw backs. It was a bit of a walk to the parks where they hunted, but at the same time CloverPrint wouldn't change anything. She was happy to raise her kits in an area where two-leg kits would not take them away.

[ Where has the day gone, yeesh. ]
Jackdawstar smiled at Callie when she mentioned that his support meant a lot to her, and he felt his face warm under his fur as he dipped his head to her kindly. "That's okay," he meowed softly. He looked her in the eye again when she proceeded to answer his question about how she spent her time, and he nodded. I've never seen her around the park... unless there is a different park... He thought to himself. He wouldn't be surprised if there were many more little parks spread throughout the city - through all his moons of life he was sure he hadn't even explored nearly a quarter of the cement jungle. He frowned when she mentioned she and Oliver were trying to figure out a way for him to escape. "I could help!" He blurted, "Maybe not today, but tomorrow. We could meet up back here and I can see if I can help find an escape for him, so long as you show me where it is." He offered. He thought about asking his clan for assistance, but then figured it would be better if he didn't. He didn't want to frighten Callie and her brother with anyone else, and he wasn't sure if his clanmates would appreciate helping kittypets when they could be doing better things with their time like hunting. So he'd have to come up with an excuse to go out alone. "That is... if you were okay. I might not even be able to help, but maybe a new perspective will help," he shrugged, glancing down a little shyly at his black paws. Callie watched Jackdawstar as he dipped his head and just in general looked nice. It was a weird way of putting it, but there was something different about him from many of the wild cats, especially toms, that she'd met. Respect. It looked as if he knew what respect meant. And it was as if he didn't immediately think he was better than her because he was a wild cat, a clan cat, and she was a kittypet. There was plenty of that. Teasing and taunts from cats that thought kittypets were below them because they befriended two legs and lived in their houses and ate their kittypet slop. While Callie agreed that the slop wasn't very good, she didn't think she should be below others because of where she lived. Maybe she should see if Jackdawstar would be willing to help her with her hunting. Then she could have better food occasionally. Not too often. Her twolegs got worried when she didn't eat her slop. When he offered to help, Callie perked up slightly. Really? She was amazed that someone that had so much waiting for him at home would be willing to help Callie return to the one family member she'd lost. Oliver often told her that if he managed to get out, he'd live in the wild because he didn't want to be stuck inside constantly. He'd go live with Callie, but they both knew that her two legs would return him if he tried to live with her. "That would be great!" she said, her body tingling with excitement. "Thank you. That would mean so much to me and Oliver," she purred. She thought about her brother and how much he hated where he lived. It was her turn to be shy when she she asked her next request. "I really don't want to be a bother, but I was wondering if I could have some help with something else. I spend a lot of time outside so I should be able to defend myself and I know Oliver wants to live in the wild if he can escape. Would you be able to teach me a few fighting moves so I can defend myself and teach Oliver? And hunting? I mean, I can do a little hunting but I'm not very good and that way I could help Oliver find food when he escapes," she said. She paused slightly before finally meeting his eyes again, her own eyes wide in slight concern. "But don't worry if it's too much work or too much time. I just thought it might be helpful for me to learn that stuff." She looked back at the ground, slightly embarrassed by her request. She shifted her weight from paw to paw.

Nettlefang was sitting in a small patch of sun that was slowly starting to fade away. After a long day of hunting, he was feeling physically tired. At the sound of his stomach growling, he realised he was also feeling famished. The Siamese tom often felt unsure of his place. Of course, he used to be an outsider and had proven himself to be a worthy warrior, but there was still doubt that tainted his brain. He rolled up and onto his paws and started to head towards the fresh kill pile, from a distance he could see some pigeons ready to be plucked and eaten. But, as he made his way, Cloveprint came into his view. He ducked his head shyly to her. There had been some controversy around this queen, since no one knew who fathered her kits, but Nettlefang had never been worried about it. He himself didn't know anything about his kin, and he understood how the kits felt. Whether it had been another clan member or an outsider, he didn't know. But he hoped that the kits wouldn't feel like they didn't fit in. "Good evening, Cloverprint," Nettlefang greeted her quietly. His icy blue eyes were kind, if a little unsure.

CloverPrint looked over to NettleFang with a bit of shock, she hadn't heard the tom coming which made his greeting a surprise. "Hello there, NettleFang." CloverPrint curled her tail around her dainty ginger and white paws. Turning to face him, the she-cat offered a smile. Before the tom had come up to her, CloverPrint had been staring up at the fading daylight that was slowly being conquered by the darkness of night. Still though, her kits occupied most of her thoughts, and on the rare occasion that the queen left her little ones alone; she was back moments later to check on them. This often times frustrated OpalKit and he would say things such as I'm going to be an apprentice in no time! And apprentices don't need to be checked on! However, CloverPrint kept her cool and just smiled and ruffled her son. "I hope things are going well for you here," The she-cat added.

(The morning patrol is literally just Stormstrike, Cherrywhisper, and Sedgepaw and Stormstrike casually lets Sedgepaw take lead as a 'test' but really he wants to talk to Cherrywhisper)
Stormstrike shrugged at her comment. "I'm more of a fighter than a hunter anyway. Not sure why I made this stupid bet when I know I'll end up losing," he said. Though his words seemed harsh, there was something in his tone. Amusement? Humor? Friendliness? Whatever it was, it was very out of character for the gruff deputy. Something about Cherrywhisper made him feel more comfortable than usual and allowed him to open up. He wasn't quite sure what it was. Maybe it was just that he knew everything was okay for once. His clan was happy and healthy. Maplebreeze was relaxing in the shade last time he checked. Willowstorm was happy and spending time with her kits and Kestrelclaw when he'd left camp. Now he was out hunting with a she-cat that he didn't often talk to and was actually enjoying himself with her. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he liked it. He definitely liked it.
He watched as she stalked and killed her prey. Much better than his lame attempt at killing that bird. "Nice," he said. His turn. Cherrywhisper was up 2-1. Stormstrike looked around the park as casually as he could. He caught sight of a rabbit nibbling on some grass. It was fatter than most. Likely eating from two legs or their gardens and that would be its demise. Stormstrike nodded at Cherrywhisper and stalked his prey. He leapt - a perfect kill - until something spooked the rabbit. It took off, but not before Stormstrike managed to get a good hit on its leg. The poor thing made a noise and was in obvious pain. Luckily, that made it slower and Stormstrike was able to catch up and kill it. It was a messy kill and he felt bad for making the poor thing feel pain. They'd always been taught to deliver a killing blow as soon as possible so the prey didn't feel pain. That's why he'd recovered quickly and killed it. Letting it escape would've been a death sentence for the rabbit. It could've been hit by a monster or ended up as the dinner of a cat or dog that enjoyed playing with their prey before finally putting it out of its misery. He returned to Cherrywhisper. "Not a clean kill, but at least it's dead now."

[ashfeather ] EAGLESTRIKE | The Streets | Snowfeather
Eaglestrike enjoyed the cool breeze on his fur, having been feeling quite warm in the sun. Though today had been a lovely day, and that always seemed to put him in a good mood. He knew that grey and rainy days were necessary for keeping the parks green and the prey running, but that didn't make the rain any nicer. Though, he supposed at least by comparison, those stormy days made the sunny ones all the more better by comparison.
He gave Snowfeather a knowing smile at the mention of her sister. He knew that if Cherrywhisper had a run in with a dog, he'd probably feel the same, though it was likely he'd express it in a different way to his companion. "I know the feeling. If Cherrywhisper got into some trouble with a dog... well... I'd certainly be worried," he replied, taking some time to finish his sentence. He knew he could be overprotective of his sister at times, but he couldn't help it. After Fernpaw had passed away, she was all the family he had left. He nodded along to the rest of her words, wondering why she had subjected herself to an apprentice task but keeping quiet nonetheless. Perhaps she liked to chat with the elders; he didn't know.

Jackdawstar felt a sense of equality between the two cats. He appreciated that this kittypet defied the usual kittypet odds of running away upon talking to a wild cat, and merely just had a conversation. Even spilling her personal stories about her brother and wanting to help him escape. Jackdawstar couldn't help but feel... a little flattered. Of course, in his clan he was always accepted, and outsiders tended to respect the clan cats unless they wanted to stir up trouble. But kittypets... usually kept a far distance. So, he enjoyed his conversation, and when Callie said that his offer meant so much to her, he felt shy. He felt like a kit, small and vulnerable, yet wanting to go and experience everything. His paws tingled with that feeling.
"Tomorrow then - we'll meet back up right here and I'll help you." He confirmed with a nod of his head and a flick of his tail. Tomorrow... back here with her. It was an exciting thought, and he looked forward to getting to know this she-cat better. His ears perked up when she started to shyly make her request and he listened intently. He couldn't help but feel that shy warmness underneath his pelt again, but he nodded his head. "I'll teach you everything I know!" He meowed, "It might take a while, because hunting and defending yourself takes a long while of training, but I'd be happy to help you." He added, and gently, he murmured, "It wouldn't be a hassle at all..." A thought sparked in his mind - if he returned to camp with a piece of freshkill, no one would question his disappearance for so long. Now was the perfect time to show her how a hunt usually went down, "I can give you a preview now, if you'd like? Can show you how I do it, and give you some tips too. There is a little spot not far from here where many pigeons tend to go," he suggested while nodded in with his head to that particular direction. For a moment, he wondered is Callie had ever thought of becoming a wild cat like her brother. He reminded himself he'd have to ask her that tomorrow.

Nettlefang smiled shyly and nodded his head, "Things are going quite well." He meowed in reply to her greeting, and followed up with his own, "And how about you? I bet Opalkit and Featherkit are keeping you on your toes," he had a look of amusement in his blue eyes. He'd watched many times as all the kits - Fogkit, Mistykit, Opalkit and Featherkit - rolled and played, and he'd always thought that being a queen was probably the most stressful job in the clan. Nettlefang much preferred his role of warrior, where he could quietly fit in, and didn't have to worry about anything else but bringing food back to clan and re-scenting their boundaries.

Snowfeather in response to Eaglestrike. She knew that Cherrywhisper was his only kin left, and felt for him. Similarly, Doveheart was Snowfeather's only kin. Doveheart responded to the loss of their mother much easier than Snowfeather, who has the tendency to be rather hysteric. Sometimes afterwards she'd feel embarrassed by her actions, but she was such a rash she-cat that she never thought about the consequences until after. She was always full of hindsight. "It's never nice knowing family is hurt," she nodded again. She glanced up ahead as the fountain came into view and she quickened her pace so she could run up and jump onto the ledge in two swift motions. She bent and took a quick drink before lifting her head and gazing around. The area was clear of strays, but in the distance a twoleg was sat on a bench. Snowfeather didn't mind twolegs too much. She kept her distance as a precautionary, but didn't mind occasionally warming up to them is she knew they'd give her treats for it. While her sister never agreed with Snowfeather's decision to do this, she did it anyway. She was such a lousy hunter she felt discouraged from doing it, and twolegs were so easy to trick.
