Willowstorm closed her eyes and enjoyed the feeling of her two kits so close to her. She never wanted to let them go after almost losing them today and she took her time licking each kit. She wanted to curl up in her familiar nest in the nursery and tell her babies stories until they fell asleep, but that wouldn't be an option tonight. She enjoyed their warmth and closeness for a few seconds before opening her eyes at Mistykit's words. "We'll be the best hunters," Fogkit promised. He looked at his sister. "I think we should have a contest when we go or hunting. You two against me and Mistykit." He looked proud of himself for the idea as he glanced between his mother and father. "That's a great idea, Fogkit," Willowstorm said, though her heart broke st the thought that it might not happen. She could still go out with them if she had an injured leg, but she wouldn't be as balanced or quick or able to hunt with the speed and grace that she had before today. It hurt so, so bad. Physically and emotionally and she didn't know how to cope with what she was feeling. Willowstorm let our a yawn and watched Kestrelclaw. As much as she wanted her kits to stay with her, she was right. She nudged Mistykit. "I'll see you guys tomorrow morning," she promised. She licked Mistykit and then Fogkit. "Maybe you can even convince Kestrelclaw to sleep in the nursery with you guys." She knew that was a little unusual. Only she-cats spent their time in the nursery, but she didn't want the two of them to be lonely and sad, so she hoped Kestrelclaw would do it. She didn't think anyone would mind in these circumstances. "Really?" Fogkit brightened at the idea and even accepted the lick his mother gave him. He turned to Kestrelclaw and raced to stand between the older tom's paws. "Can you sleep with us tonight?" he asked. To be honest, he was afraid to be alone in the nursery with Mistykit and he knew sleeping alone in Willowstorm's nest would be hard on them both. Having their father there might make it easier. aether

[ oh sweet!
we had this structure called TXXXC which i always tried to follow. Topic sentence, extend, example, explain, conclusion. but i was rather mediocre lmao. tsk tsk tsk. winter with no hot chocolate? 2/10 for that one. having to leave the house for warm beverages? -2/10. doggos cure everything. no matter what it is. ] (I never really cared for following structure. I mean they tried to teach us topic sentence, subpoint, evidence, subpoint, evidence, subpoint, evidence, conclusion in a five paragraph essay but that just never worked well for me and my grades improved when I got more freedom *shrugs* I have to leave the house anyway even when it's -30 with a foot of snow and my car barely starts so I figure I can just get my cappuccino then But yes my dogs are very happy and fuzzy and puppies make everything better so I like to hug them when I'm upset)

KESTRELCLAW, MISTYKIT | Medicine Cat Den | Willowstorm, Fogkit
Mistykit whipped her tail with pent up excitement at the thought of a competition. Oh, she was much too competitive. But her brother suggested it, she just nodded excitedly. "When we go out, we'll show you bother what amazing hunters we are!" She dug her tiny claws into the ground and grinned.
Kestrelclaw flicked his whiskers at the thought of spending the night in the nursery. While he wanted to be with his kits, he would much prefer to wrap himself up with his mate. Feeling somewhat torn, he gave a small nod, "Yeah, I'll sleep in the nursery with you both tonight," he meowed with a little smile. It wasn't as enthusiastic as Fogkits and Mistykits though. "So long as you two don't kick me in your sleep," he said it affectionately, and bumped Fogkit with his paw. "I've heard all about you noisy sleepers," he did his best to remain composed for their sake. And Willowstorm's too, he had to be strong for them all.
Mistykit rubbed against her mother, "I don't really wanna go, though... can't we sleep in here?" She whined. Kestrelclaw shook his head though and look into Willowstorm's eyes.
"Willowstorm needs her rest, and she won't get it with you two fluffballs under her paws." He meowed.

Fogkit nodded in agreement. "We'll be the best hunters ever. We can hunt anything and it'll be a lot of fun," he said. He puffed out his chest as if trying to make himself as large as his father. The tiny tom failed, but that didn't stop him from pouncing Kestrelclaw's tail. He was confident that Willowstorm would be alright, even if her leg didn't look good, and he was filled with energy at this point. Willowstorm wanted Kestrelclaw to sleep in the medicine cat den with her more than anything, but she knew her kits needed him more. They'd never spent the night alone and she knew they had to be shaken up from the day still. Having Kestrelclaw would help them, right? And she could still curl up with her mate tomorrow. They just wouldn't be spending the night together. "Fogkit is the one you need to watch out for," Willowstorm warned him, forcing her voice to sound somewhat optimistic. The Gray kit ducked his head in embarrassment. He was the most restless sleeper of the three and occasionally ended up waking Willowstorm or Mistykit. "I'll try to be good," he promised. Willowstorm gave Kestrelclaw a look of gratitude before she continued licking Mistykit. She paused to answer the young she cat. "Sorry, but you'll have to spend the night with Kestrelclaw. He's even warmer and softer than I am," she promised with a small laugh. At least, his strong body seemed a lot more comfortable and warm to her. She just hoped the youngsters would feel the same way. "And I promise I'll be here tomorrow as soon as you guys want to come see me." "Can we see her as soon as we wake up?" Fogkit asked, looking up at Kestrelclaw. Willowstorm wasn't enthusiastic about seeing them that early, but she nodded. "You guys can come see me as soon as Kestrelclaw is ready," she promised. He'd be more reasonable about letting her get her sleep than Mistykit and Fogkit would be. aether(Sorry if this seems just kinda choppy and meh. It's getting a bit late and I'll probably be heading off to bed somewhat soon)

KESTRELCLAW, MISTYKIT | Medicine Cat Den | Willowstorm, Fogkit
.
Kestrelclaw flicked his tail back and forth as Fogkit pounced onto it, he didn't mind having the little tom play with his tail - even if his little fangs and claws could sometimes hurt. Kestrelclaw looked down to Fogkit after Willowstorm's warning and he meowed, "You must be dreaming about catching some prey," he meowed with a hint of amusement.
Mistykit bounced up, "He kicks me all the time!" Lucky for her, she was probably the deepest sleeper known to the clan - she could sleep through any of Fogkit's kicks. Well, mostly. Sometimes she'd wake up but it was never long before she was snoring away again.
Kestrelclaw nodded to Willowstorm, "We'll see in the morning when we can come back - don't forgot, Willowstorm needs plenty of time to rest though," he warned. He stepped forward and nuzzled Willowstorm gently, it was already dark outside, and it was time to rest. Time had flown past since he'd come back from hunting. "I love you," his warm breath tickled her fur, and he let out a soft purr. "I'll be here tomorrow," he added with a gentle lick to her cheek.
[ all good! don't think my responses are the best they could be either - and its not even late here! ]

Fogkit was glad that Kestrelclaw didn't stop him from playing with his tail, so the tom pounced on it and used one soft paw to pin it to the ground as much as possible. Then at his comment, he nodded. "Yeah, I catch lots of prey in my sleep. Mice and rabbits and deer and dogs and bears," he said, listing off animals that would be near impossible for him to take down on his own. Of Willowstorm hadn't had a chance against the dog, what chance would he have? Even Jackdawstar had an advantage because the dog had been occupied by swinging Willowstorm around in the air. He stuck his tongue at Mistykit. "Maybe I wouldn't kick you if you didn't hog the nest and all of Willowstorm's warmth," he argued. He let go of his father's tail and pounded on his sister, hearing a grunt from Willowstorm when the two kits tumbled into her from the force of Fogkir's pounce. "Settle down a bit, you two," Willowstorm warned, glad they had avoided rolling into her leg. Her chest could take the hit better than her already injured leg. Willowstorm's gaze turned to Kestrelclaw as he approached and she purred at the feeling of his warm breath against her fur. "I'll be waiting," she said, touching her nose gently to his head. "I love you too." "Ew!" Fogkit said, hearing his parents words. He didn't like it when they got all soft and warm with each other. "Come on, Mistykit! I'll race you to the nursery!" He took off running and Willowstorm watched him go with a sigh. "He'll be such a strong and brave warrior," she said, looking at Kestrelclaw. "And Mistykit will be so beautiful and intelligent..." aether

nettlefang, Bouncing on the pads of her paws, Ivyleaf greeted the members of the clan as they passed by, asking if they needed any help. One particular warrior passed by with a purr of amusement, batting her lightly on the head. βWeβre fine, trust me! Youβve gone on dawn patrol almost every single day recently β youβve got to give other cats a chance, too!β The tabby hissed back playfully, sticking her tongue at the older catβs back as he walked by. Sitting down in the damp grasses, she cringed at the uncomfortable sensation of water in her fur. Already, she could feel the urge to tap her paw on the ground like one of those stupid dogs they encountered every now and then. It was a habit she had only recently managed to suppress, finally ridding herself of the nickname βPuppyβ. Suddenly, a voice spoek up, calling her name. Turning to the sound, Ivyleaf grinned easily at the awkward Siamese, eyes falling into slits as she purred a greeting in return.
βHey there, Nettlefang! Do you need help with anything? Oh right, good morning, haha.β Contrasting sharply with Nettlefangβs quieter nature, Ivyleaf was more that happy to chat, pushing herself up onto all four paws to face the other. βAnd yeah, I slept pretty well. Iβm all energized now, as always.β Sheβd never talked too much with Nettlefang before, the other warrior being far quieter than most of the others in the den. He wasnβt clanborn though, so it made perfect sense. Of course he wouldnβt be entirely comfortable in a place like this, right? βWhat about you? There was a leak I plugged in your corner of the den just a few sunrises ago β has it been causing you any problems, or is it still holding up?β

KESTRELCLAW, MISTYKIT | Medicine Cat Den | Willowstorm, Fogkit .
Kestrelclaw roll his eyes as Fogkit listed all the prey he'd catch, but his eyes were lit with amusement, and his lips were curved into a smile. Despite the events that had happened today, something about Fogkit and Mistykit's blind optimism made him feel a little less worried. Of course, Willowstorm was still hurt, but the kits reminded him that the would wasn't over, and they could still go on. It was a refreshing reminder, and yet they didn't know. He did chuckle though when Fogkit took off,he turned his head to watch the little grey tom scamper out of the den, and then watched as Mistykit scrambled to her feet and chase after him after the prospect of winning the race. "I wonder if they'll ever be tired..." he murmured with some amusement.
He gently pressed his nose to Willowstorm's ear, taking a breath and inhaling her scent. Then, he turned and headed towards the den exit, he did pause to give her a smile, "I'll be back tomorrow," he nodded, then followed suit of the kits.In the nursery, the big white tom felt awkward curling into what was usually Willowstorm's nest, though he did enjoy the fact that her scent wafted around him. Mistykit curled up next to her father contentedly, then sprawled out when she fell asleep.

NETTLEFANG | Camp | Ivyleaf ivyleaf33
Nettlefang was well aware of Ivyleaf's upbeat and optimistic outlook, it made her pleasant to be around. Who didn't enjoy the company of someone who just brightened the area? He smiled at her, a small one, that seemed a little odd on his face. He glanced down to his wet paws and listened to her talk about her sleep and morning, "That's good," he meowed softly. He glanced back up when she mentioned she'd patched up the leak in his corner of the den, and he tilted his head, "That was you?" He sounded surprised. He had known the patch was there, but not who had done it. "Thank you for doing that,it hasn't bothered me at all since," He looked shyly away, then remembered why he'd approached in the first place. "I'm going out for a hunt, did you, uh, want to come?" He'd completely understand if she said no, he wouldn't argue it. But she was someone who was pleasant to be around so he hoped she wouldn't say no - he starting to feel nervous, and kneaded his paws on the ground.
The velvet tom looked a sight, being a big tom, yet seeming so small and shy. It was tough for him to break through his shell and feel like he truly belonged. While many welcomed him with warm paws, he still felt like he was different, and like maybe he didn't actually belong.

There was a nervous feeling in the pit of Jackdawstar's stomach as he glanced around camp on that dewy morning. He heard noises from the nursery, then yawns from the warriors den. He'd been up for some time now and spoken to Stormstrike about the patrols for that day - who would be in them, and if they were hunting or patrolling. But he couldn't keep his mind off of one specific detail. Callie. The moment he was able to slip away, he took it. His eyes fixated on the camp entrance and exit, and he made sure to head that way. He felt as if all eyes were on him as he slipped out, though when he turned back to check, no one was even paying attention. He let a long breath which hadn't even known he was holding, and he hurried. His paws slowly lost their anxiety, and quickly picked up excitement. He didn't even notice how quickly he was moving until he realised he made it to the first thunderpath along the way in only a few minutes. Why am I so... excited? He thought to himself and narrowed his eyes. He had his clan to think about, and yet here he was... going to a kittypet, and having no shame for it.
Yet, none of those thoughts stopped him. He crossed the thunderpath expertly and continued going, knowing the route vaguely enough to get it right. Soon he was rounding a corner and her twoleg nest was in eyesight. This is when nerves started to kick in. Suddenly, the city was loud. He heard the sounds of monsters zooming past, the twolegs and their strange mouth noises, the rush of the winds, everything struck his ears so sudden and painful he flinched. The ground was vibrating with the wheels of the monsters.
Frozen for a few moments, he thought for a moment that he should turn back... but then Callie's scent filled his nose... and her voice sounded in his ears. It calmed him to the point where he was able to step forward again, even though his ears were lowered and his tail was somewhat bristled. He didn't like the conflicted feeling that shook his body, yet... he was still here.

nettlefang, The tom would respond in soft phrases, obviously not the most comfortable in the conversation. What could she do to boost his confidence somehow? However, before she actually got around to saying anything else, he looked up, surprised that she had been the one to patch the den. Quickly thanking her, Ivyleaf blinked, then batted it away with a purr of amusement. βNo need to thank me! I was so bored that day that I probably would have died for that leak! In fact, Iβm sure if I was bored enough, Iβd even poke holes in the den just to fix them.β Trying to lighten him up with some more humorous speaking, her ears instantly perked up when he mentioned a hunt.
βDo you even have to ask? I thought Iβd be stuck doing nothing in camp for the whole morning!β Instantly, the tabby was stretching her limbs, an excited twitch in her tail. This was perfect! Perhaps she could help Nettlefang come out of his shell at the same time she went out hunting, yeah? It would certainly keep her occupied enough to satisfy the urge to do something useful. Already, she was heading out into the park. Where would they go today?
βHey, Nettlefang! You know any good hunting spots? I havenβt hunted much with you yet, maybe you know some secret crazy-good spot to catch something? The clan will definitely be well-fed tonight!β Sheβd been told often that she needed to leave room for other members to chime in, and felt she was doing pretty well in improving. It was hard to act this way, letting someone else take the spotlight she so easily slipped into, but it was the best way to help.

DarkpawDarkpawβs heart was practically up his throat now, and he could feel his whole body pulsating with fear. A strange instinct took over him- to stop, almost, as if his fear manifested him still like one of the statues in the park, but he suppressed it and kept going, clenching his teeth. βYou keep running!β he yelled, although it combined with his scream so it came out as something more like a squeal. βIβm going to get help!β He started rushing off to the Thunderpath and bolted across it, for a split second not even caring what it was. He had other things to do, and hoped his swift legs could carry him there without collapsing and giving out from underneath him. If there was one thing he was good at, it was running, although Darkpaw didnβt know what that said about him. (Sorry for the late reply! My muse has been absolutely out the window)
