Snowfeather shook her fur, her pelt bristling with worry and concern even though she'd been assured by both cats that they were okay. "I'll go fetch Littlepaw - he is in the nursery!" And she dashed off to fetch the medicine cat apprentice.
Doveheart shook her head. She loved her sister, but she was a pawful. She turned to Frostpaw, "You did well today, Frostpaw." She meowed seriously with a firm nod of her head, "I'm proud of you - but now, you might want to escape from Snowfeather." She added that part with a hint of amusement, but she could see the muscles tense under his pelt as Snowfeather fussed over him, and was sure her apprentice didn't appreciate it. She knew Frostpaw was a quiet tom, and while she wanted to help him overcome his fears, she knew that Snowfeather bothering him wasn't the way to go about it. "See if you can eat something, and I'll come find you after my ear is looked at." She meowed.
Snowfeather pushed her way into the nursery and looked at Littlepaw, "Doveheart is hurt! Come quick!"

"But I'll be the best," Fogkit said. His words seemed lost as Mistykit tackled him. He wiggled away from her before pounding on her tail as if it were a piece of prey. As always, he was careful not to hurt her. He knew Kestrelclaw and Willowstorm would both be upset with him if he managed to hurt his sister, and Fogkit liked to please others. Except for Mistykit. He didn't care if he made her proud. "Fogstar and Mistypaw. Sounds right."
"I don't," Willowstorm said with a small laugh. "I just kinda follow them around and make sure nobody gets hurt. It's worked so far." This was her first litter and they were a handful. Even though there were only two, she wasn't quite sure how to handle them. She took another bite and nodded at Kestrelclaw's words, swallowing before she spoke. "For the sanity of their mentors, I hope they do calm down."

After returning from hunting with Sedgepaw, Amberpaw, and Rabbitspring, Stormstrike had added their prey to the pile and went to visit Maplebreeze. His sister wasn't doing much except lounging in the sun, so he suggested the two of them go to the fountain. He was warm from his little hunting expedition, and it would be a nice place to cool off and relax. Escape his duties as deputy for a bit.
"I would, but I was going to look for Amberpaw," she said, shaking her head. "Sorry, Stormstrike. The Apprentices have already called dibs on me," she said. She brushed past her brother and went to go find the apprentice that had recently come back from hunting with Stormstrike.
He watched Maplebreeze go before deciding to head to the fountain himself. He saw a cat already there, and murdered a few words to himself. He'd kinda wanted to relax alone. But when he identified the figure as Cherrywhisped, he found himself relaxing. She wasn't overbearing and wouldn't cause him any problems.
The muscular gray tom jumped onto the edge of the fountain next to her and stuck his own paw in the water. He enjoyed the cool temperatures and had to prevent himself from jumping in. He took his paw out and looked at the wet mark it made on the edge of the fountain before speaking. "Hello, Cherrywhisper," he said. "How are you today?"

CHERRYWHISPER | The Fountain | Stormstrike Despite having kept an eye on her surroundings, Cherrywhisper was caught off guard when Stormstrike jumped up next to her. Already being crouched down over the fountain's edge, her surprise had her almost falling into the fountain and she had to take a moment or two to regain her balance. As a result, she could feel warmth building up in her cheeks out of embarrassment, but tried to ignore it the best she could. Resettling herself beside him, curling her tail around her body, she gave the deputy a respectful nod in greeting. "Hey Stormstrike," she said softly, grateful when her voice didn't shake from embarrassment. She didn't mind his company - the tom had always seemed rather calm and genuine, despite how strict he could be - but she would, of course, have preferred to spend this morning alone. Still, she wasn't the type of cat to be rude and ignore anyone, so she figured she might as well engage in a decent conversation with him while he was there. "I'm not too bad. It's a bit warm today though," she said with a small smile, her eyes flickering up to look at him, "And yourself?"( . )

Littlepaw and Willowstorm were both surprised when someone New entered the nursery disrupting the tranquility that had settled over the cats inside. As soon as Littlepaw heard that someone was hurt, he jumped to his paws and pushed his way out of the nursery, expecting Snowfeather to follow him.
"What happened? How badly?" he asked, turning his head to look at Snowfeather. He shook his head. "Where is she?" He saw that nobody seemed to be really panicking and the small tom relaxed. He could deal with injuries. It was life threatening injuries that he didn't know how to fix. He spotted Doveheart and approached the warrior, tilting his head as he spotted her injury.
"So, uh, what happened?" he asked. The young tom had visibly relaxed when he was positive nobody was about to die. "I'll have you fixed up in no time, Doveheart!" he promised.

Doveheart smiled sheepishly. "I'm fine, really, Snowfeather is just over-reacting." She meowed with a hint of amusement. "I just had an encounter with a dog and it managed to nip my ear, is all," she bent her head so the tiny tom would have a better view of the wound. While there was definitely a small chunk now missing from the tip of her ear, the blood had dried so the bleeding now stopped. The blood had oozed slowly, so her entire ear was covered with the dried liquid. "It doesn't really hurt anymore... but I'm sure it doesn't look pretty..." she murmured.
Snowfeather watched anxiously from behind Littlepaw - she was acting as if Doveheart had rolled back into camp about to lose her last breath. The white she-cat fluffed up her fur and lowered her ears to her head. She was always very protective of her sister, and she felt powerless now - even though she'd been assured that Doveheart was fine.

Littlepaw was glad to see that Snowfeather was giving him space instead of trying to get into the medicine cat apprentice's way and tell him how to do his job. that's what he'd feared when he became a medicine cat because he wasn't the best at telling older and stronger and larger cats what to do. Of course, that all seemed to melt away when he was dealing with an injured or sick patient and telling them what to do, but it was still something he was struggling with when it came to cats that weren't in his care.
"I'll be right back," he promised. He disappeared to go to his herb storage and finally returned with what he needed. After inspecting the ear wound, he applied what he needed to applied and did what he had to do. He stepped back to admire his work. The ear still wasn't pretty and he was sure it wouldn't be until it looked as close to normal as it ever would.
"There you go, Doveheart." He smiled at the warrior. "Come find me if it starts bleeding again or hurts and be careful with it for a few days." If there was any sign of infection, he wanted the she-cat to come find him. He then turned to Snowfeather. "She should be good for now. Just make sure she comes to find me if it gets worse," he said.

(Huh that's weird. I could've sworn I posted this. At least I didn't delete it)
Stormstrike was amused when he saw Cherrywhisper struggling to regain her balance, but he didn't let it show. He had expected her to see him coming, but he wasn't really bothered by the fact that she hadn't. After all, nobody had gotten hurt and Cherrywhisper hadn't fallen into the fountain, so he saw no harm in being amused by the situation.
He nodded at her reply. "It is warm. I was out hunting with Rabbitspring and our apprentices, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to cool off a bit," he said. He knew he didn't have to explain himself to the warrior, but he did anyway. Truthfully, Stormstrike didn't have much in the way of cats to talk to. He had Willowstorm and Maplebreeze. He was also sure he could make any cat stop and listen to him, but he didn't really have anyone that he liked to sit and talk with besides his sisters. That had gotten harder with Willowstorm since she had her kits. She was always around them. He loved his niece and nephew, but felt useless and clumsy around the kits and left Willowstorm and Kestrelclaw alone to deal with them. He spent more time with Maplebreeze but was beginning to think that the she-cat was getting tired of him.

"Thanks Doveheart." Frostpaw meowed appreciatively, his mood lightening slightly when she said she was proud of him. At the end of the day, he wanted to be the best warrior that he could be and make her proud, so that meant a lot. While he was reluctant to leave her, he knew he'd probably just get in the way, and he wanted to give Littlepaw space to help and treat his mentor. Plus, while he knew she meant well, he didn't enjoy Snowfeather's fussing - it was a bit too full on for him. So he dipped his head respectfully before walking over to the fresh-kill pile, depositing his squirrel there and picking up a small bird for himself.

[ It's all good^^ ]
CHERRYWHISPER | The Fountain | Stormstrike Cherrywhisper was grateful when he seemed to ignore her almost falling into the fountain, her embarrassment slowly ebbing away as she instead concentrated on their conversation. At the mention of his apprentice, her ears pricked up slightly. She was always curious to see how the young cats of the clan were getting on, although she was glad that she herself hadn't been given an apprentice yet. While she knew she was a good warrior, she couldn't help but feel that she would struggle to actually impart wisdom to another cat due to her innate shyness. She could see her brother being a good teacher though, and she hoped that he would be granted the honour of an apprentice when the kits of the clan grew up. "Oh, how's Sedgepaw going with his training?" she asked, genuinely curious about his development. She was sure Stormstrike would be a good mentor despite never having seen him teach; he just seemed to have the qualities required to be a good mentor. ( .)

"Sedgepaw is a handful, but she's not bad," he said. There was a hint of amusement in his tone as he talked about his young student. "She's definitely coming along in her skills." Stormstrike wasn't exactly talkative, but he somehow managed to be a good mentor. He'd had a few Apprentices during his time as a warrior and was glad each time he got a new one. He knew he'd teach them the correct way to hunt and fight and how to be the best warrior the clan could ask for.
He also, surprisingly, wasn't the best with young cats. He always felt awkward and as if he were being too tough. That was usually only a worry around kits, since he considered Apprentices adults. If they were old enough to fight for their clan, they were old enough to deal with Stormstrike's strict personality. That's why he didn't visit Willowstorm as much as he should.
"After dealing with the two Apprentices, I needed to come out and take a break," he said, shaking his head. "They drained me of any energy I had."

CHERRYWHISPER | The Fountain | Stormstrike Cherrywhisper let out a soft laugh. The Lostclan apprentices could certainly be a handful; she had seen enough of their activities in camp to know as much. Though she supposed they only meant well, and were just trying to find an outlet for their excitement at training to be a warrior. She could remember her and her own siblings as apprentices being quite energetic to go out training and hunting with their mentors. Of course, that excitement had considerably faded when her sister had fallen sick. But she pushed that thought to the back of her mind; she didn't want to be thinking about that right now. The hint of amusement in his voice didn't go unnoticed by her, and she thought it a welcome change to his normal serious demeanour. "Yeah, they can be full on sometimes, huh?" she said with a smile, not meaning it in a negative way. She thought that perhaps if she did have an apprentice, it actually might be good for her confidence and force her out of her shell. But that was only hypothetical for now. ( . )

Stormstrike nodded, remembering his own apprenticeship. He actually hadn't been a handful. He'd managed to keep a cool head and the same calm demeanor he had now even at a young age. He worked well to balance out his sisters. They've both calmed down with age, but they'd been a handful at one point. So he couldnt exactly say that he understood how excitable the younger cats were, but he could still see it. After all, being a warrior was what their lives were all about, so starting their training had to be exciting.
"I'm used to it," he said. "I don't think I've ever managed to get a calm apprentice. They want those guys to go to the less experienced mentors." It only made sense. Calm, well behaved Apprentices would go to New mentors that weren't quite sure how to do it. The ones that were a handful would be given to more experienced cats like Stormstrike.
"Been up to anything exciting?" The question seemed to come out of nowhere and it surprised Stormstrike. He usually avoided conversation, but maybe it was because Cherrywhisper didn't push conversation on him like some cats did. The words just seemed to come naturally while he was talking to her.

Even though he was still in training, she knew he wouldn't cause her any harm. She flicked her ears a few times, the damp ear feeling uncomfortable for a few moments until it dried slightly. She looked at the young tom and smiled, "Thank you Littlepaw, I'm sure it'll be fine. This won't be the first time someone has gotten a nicked ear - won't be the last either." She rose to her paws and shook her white and grey pelt. Twigs and leaves had caught in her pelt throughout the day, but she didn't seem to care as she picked her way over to a small patch of shade to rest. Snowfeather followed her to fuss over her messy pelt.

[ Sorry for taking so long to reply, was chatting with my sister. ]
CHERRYWHISPER | The Fountain | Stormstrike Cherrywhisper nodded, understanding why. She knew if she were to get an apprentice herself, it would be best if they were on the calmer side. Although she wondered if getting a more excitable apprentice would bring out a different side to her, make her tougher in the long run. If she did end up ever getting an apprentice though, she trusted Jackdawstar to assign her to one he thought best for her. At the end of the day, his judgement was perhaps what mattered most. She put these thoughts out of her mind, however; there was no point dwelling over things when they may not happen for a while yet. Stormstrike's question surprised her. The deputy wasn't known for making small talk around camp, so it seemed out of character for him to be engaging in conversation now. Not that she was complaining. She enjoyed his calming presence, and he wasn't overbearing like many other cats, so she felt more comfortable around him. "I mean, not really," she said looking down at her paws, shuffling her feet. She didn't consider herself a very interesting cat, so by extension what she got up to wasn't all that exciting either. "I managed to catch a particularly large fish yesterday," she said suddenly, remembering how proud she had been of herself, "I don't normally go fishing as I've never been all that good, but I thought I'd give it a go - and it paid off," she explained. She stole a quick glance at him, wanting to gauge his reaction. Yes, maybe it wasn't the most exciting news, but it had meant something to her all the same. ( . )
