Yeah... it's a fine line with science imo. I don't think it knows everything- but I don't think they should be tossed aside like it's nothing either. I see scientists as people all working on one massive world-wide puzzle- and some pieces fit and are genuinely true, but some pieces are shoved in a place they want it to be even though it doesn't belong there. And a lot of pieces are missing. I respect the cause though- and God wants us to learn more about the world be live in and how it works. God is the ultimate scientist, mathematician, and basically any profession after all. I think apart of learning how to be like God is to learn how he created the world- even if we don't fully understand it yet.

tree and 2dhalf- Recently we've been talking about our views on evolution ^^ *gasp* Did you just bring up EVILUTION™? Everybody knows that that's a conspiracy theory made up by the Evil Atheists™ to discredit the Bible! Nah jk. I, personally, am a theistic evolutionist, although I was on the fence until very recently. I can understand why people don't believe evolution, but I can't understand why some people insist on not telling their kids about it, refusing to learn anything about it, etc.

It also seems like, rather than discrediting Him, science is slowly revealing God. I was watching a video series on the YouTube channel "InspiringPhilosophy" recently about how quantum physics seems to prove that the universe is both created and sustained by an extradimensional, nonphysical consciousness. Really fascinating and mind-boggling.
Reminds me of this quote by Robert Jastrow: "For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance, he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries."

i believe in evolution with divine guidance tbh but yeah i can see that I could believe that. But the bible says that he made us in his image, so why would he change that? Animals I could understand but it still doesn't add up to me. I know I'm kind of throwing an avalanche of posts down right now, and I'll stop in a minute, but I just wanna answer this. Scientists are now discovering that humans don't actually seem to be descended from earlier Homo species. Rather, they seem to have just sort of popped into existence, evolutionarily speaking, around 200,000 years ago, give or take. It seems to me that humans are an entirely separate creation of God, not evolved from any other animals.

Yeah... and Albert Einstein, the smartest person in the world at the time, believed in God- and would defend his belief several times in his life. This video is a really good example of one of his experiences: . Plus, plenty of very well educated people have actually become extremely humble with their realization of how much they don't know. I feel like- as I've gone to college- it's really brought me to my knees in the concept of understanding just how amazing God is, all His works, and the amazingness of the world and how it functions. If anything, learning about science has brought me closer to God, not away from Him.

@spotted I'd love it if you were to explain it to me later when you don't have to use a phone. Another thing I have a problem with is radioactive/metric dating and how old the Earth is. Also, how things are fossilized. Yeah totally! @galantis That sounds really awesome! What are you majoring in, if you don't mind me asking?

The Evilutionists™ killed my parents, why do you think I live with my grandparents :'(
Also. That's good to find out! Im open to the idea of evolution but to me, there hasn't been any evidence shown. And I do believe the Earth is a lot younger than what the majority of the Scientific community says.
Also another thing I wanna bring up. How did those fossils get underneath the rock? How were the Grand Canyons made? I think it was the Great Flood. In the Grand Canyon, all of those lines in the rocks aren't just different layers of sediments and stuff but I believe to have been the different pressures of the receding Great Flood. And the fossils (bones technically) were brought around by the flood from the majority of animals dying. Another thing with fossils, I've heard many times that there is a place in Canada where you can send a Teddy Bear and they'll fossilize it for you, within like 50 years.
And a question. When is the movie and what are we watching?

The movie streaming starts in about an hour (if everyone can make it) and we're watching The Prince of Egypt. If you want in, you can make an account at rabb.it and add me as a friend in my room.

Yeah, that's the main difference between the views of young earth creationists and evolutionists on the matter of how the world's rock formations and such got to be how they are. YEC claims that it all happened very quickly as a result of the Flood, and evolutionism claims that it all happened very slowly, as things eroded over millions of years. I believe the leading theory is that it was carved out very slowly by the Colorado River. But yeah, it's definitely open to interpretation and debate.

And another thing about fossils, is that Scientists have found things such as bowler hats and pans that were made in the 17th/18th century that were fossilized but the rock around them were said to be thousands/millions of years old when they clearly weren't.

Yeah, there are a lot of those kinds of things. They're called "Ooparts", I think. A lot of them wind up being hoaxes or easily explainable, but some of them are still unexplained.
