okay, thanks. i just, ugh. i haven't been feeling too well lately, mentally, with the stress of school and such. things get kind of jumbled up and clogged in my brain, and it gets hard to process and focus and think about serious things without giving myself a panic attack, so thanks for being so understanding.

I always get a little upset when people say that small children are all brats and annoying. I feel like said people have just never been around well-disciplined kids and have only experienced those improperly enforced I've dealt with bratty kids for most of my life...and my two nieces are a couple of those brats. If kids were raised better then I would like them. Well-disciplined kids are very few in number.

Questions from youth group: "Is it a sin if I tell my little sister that her drawing is good if it really isn't?" Yes. The right thing to do is to burn that reprehensible drawing immediately and pray that God has mercy on the girl's soul. In reality idk. The deeper question here is "is it ever ok to lie?" My answer is "Maybe in some extreme cases but err on the side of caution." In the Bible, Rahab lies to protect the Israelite spies, and she is saved because of it. A more recent example: If you were a Christian in Nazi Germany, hiding Jews in your house, and Nazis came to your door asking if you were hiding any Jews, would it be morally correct to lie? (Christians in Germany faced a far greater struggle than that, actually- thet had to consider whether it was right to rebel against the government and even attempt to kill Hitler in order to prevent even great evil.) And another: if you were trying to smuggle Bibles into North Korea for the sake of disseminating them among people, and an official explicitly asked you whether you were hiding Bibles, would it be right or wrong to lie about it? I don't know. The Bible never explicitly condones lying in any situation, but it does seem like some situations call for it. These are obviously much more drastic than the youth group situation though. In that situation, it's probably best to just say something like, "Wow, you worked hard on this!" or something like that.

Anyone read "The Man" by Ray Bradbury? So good. It's a short story about a human spaceship landing on another planet for the first time- but the inhabitants of the planet don't even care, because they've just been visited by an extraordinary individual whom they've been waiting for for years. Three guesses as to the individual's identity.

I agree, Jess. It just makes no sense. It's likely their parents are making them come.
Sounds interesting, Tree!

Just saw a site try to claim that Jesus is a myth based off of the Norse god Thor. (I also once encountered an atheist who tried to disprove Christianity by claiming that the Christian idea of hell is based off of the Norse hell.) Either they're from another timeline or they're very confused.

I saw a site once list questions for Christians. Some were okay, but most were ridiculous. Kinda wanna answer them here. Questions for Christians: "Why do you hate gay people?" "Did you know that Hitler was a Christian?" "Something something magic sky fairies?" "How can you believe something as stupid as NOah's Ark?" "If God is real, why don't He prove it to me?" "How did the angry, vengeful God of the Old Testament turn into Cupcake Jesus?" "Why do you hate science so much?" "Why does Jesus want you to eat His body and drink His blood? That's GROSS." "Why don't God heal amputees?" "So you're saying that I can live a life of killing people and eating babies, but then if I just accept Jesus at the end I can go to heaven?" What I'd imagine that article is like off the top of my head.

The oldest (almost 3) is comedically over-dramatic. Like, when something doesn't go his way, he doesn't cry. He lays face-down on the floor like there's no point in living anymore. He's hilarious lol

October is my birth month too, actually. Not until the end, though.
Is it just me, or does October have a certain feeling to it that none of the other months have? I could be imagining things. But, like, it marks the time when the first real cold snaps come through. Leaves truly start falling. There's all the build-up for Halloween. Anxiety over the PSAT. For me, my birthday as well as my brother's and dad's. Idk man, it's always had a very special atmosphere about it that seems distinctly "OCTOBER" to me.

Yeah, Shad. October has a really cool feel, it's probably my favorite month. I can say December has its own feel as well but it's usually really rushed so I like October better.

I think you're right about Dec being too rushed. Christmas starts earlier than Halloween in its month, so you don't get to enjoy the build-up for as long. I mean, I think all months have a specific feeling to them, but October is the strongest.
