plot/intro 22 people, unaware of their family history, receive a card. A tarot card to be more specific was given to them. And that card contains power, or rather, awakens a power inside each person. These people are descended from an ancient group of people that has been more or less wiped out. Now only 26 of them exist. 26 enchanters. 4 of the 26 know what they are. They know their power. However, each of them has a very different idea in mind for these 22 people. The holder of the rods has an idea in mind for these people: to use them in the at of war. They have these powers, we should weaponize them in order to stay in power. The crave for power is terrible of course, as the holder of the swords agrees. However, they feel the enchanters need to be destroyed instead- as too much power can be terrible. And of course, the holder of swords fears one of the 22 will turn to be more powerful than themself. Others are not nearly so invested in the idea of power- but money is a different story. The holder of the pentacles believes this. They don't wish to destroy or use the 22 for power, but for money- a way to preserve enchanters in a glass case everyone can look at. They want them where the whole world can see their oddities. And finally, the holder of the cups disagrees with them all. Having no ulterior motive but to rebuild the society of enchanters. They just want to keep things the way they were before the destruction of almost every other enchanter. It's a race between the four to see who manages to get their plan finished first. A lot of it depends on those 22 enchanters with no idea what they are doing. And this is that story.

History behind Enchanters:: Enchanters are like humans, their difference being the powerful magic residing inside of them. The enchanters were placed into two groups- those with elemental powers and those with greater powers. Otherwise known as the Minor Arcana and Major Arcana. Both types lived together in a widespread society, their true nature hidden to the average. Some enchanters married the average, until their descent was forgotten. Which is where the story comes. Almost any and all enchanters disappeared with no trace 13 years ago. There is a total of 26 exceptions. Which is what leads to the present. The Minor Arcana are seen as much more common than the Major, as the elements are used more in their society. Following Tarot Cards, the entire basis of their society, they were classified into the Cups, Swords, Rods, and Pentacles. The Cups are connected to water, the swords are air, rods are fire, and pentacles are earth. Common they were, however recent events have summed such large numbers to four. The Major Arcana are more powerful, more rare to be. 22 different roles come into play, each dependent on their hidden power. Oddly enough, for once in existence, the Major Arcana numbers outnumber those of Minor Arcana. Originally, there were specific people chosen to be holders, those most powerful enchanters of a specific category. Which makes these 22 technically the holders.
Major Arcana:: As stated before, there are 22 Major Arcana, each with a separate power from the other. There is only one of each, and none of the 22 are aware of enchanters exsisting. Oddly, and luckily for some, the town of Medeis City has been receiving these people in numbers. The Major Arcana are likely to either have one parent or none at all with the exception of adopted parents. Their powers have been hidden, kept under a sort of lock down, until separate people received a single tarot card with their role on it. Preferably these people are between 13-19. Most of them will be fairly weak with their powers as they have had them for a short time most likely. Considering this fact as well, the prime way for any of them to use their power, it is necessary for them to hold be in possession of their card (holding it, in a pocket, etc). Otherwise, unless strong enough with power, it will not work. The only exception to having barely used it and being strong is the first time they touch their card- the first time their power comes to use, it is extremely strong. After that, it will go back to weak until they can strengthen it on their own. (Each Major Arcana will have the power described and then a suggested sort of personality for each Arcana. You do not need to follow through with the personality if you feel you can create a character that fits the card still.) 0-5
0. The Fool -Unable to be harmed for the most part. Small scrapes and bruises quickly heal or simply don't appear. If powerful enough, broken bones can be avoided or heal on their own. Cannot heal others. -Likely to be naive/doesn't think about consequences. Foolish basically.
1. The Magician (Taken) -Illusionist. Plays with illusions, can make people see things not there. If powerful enough, can extend to hearing things, feeling things, etc. -Likely to be clever and powerful.
2. The High Priestess (Taken) -Energy/Light Manipulator. Can create small bursts of light and energy. As they get stronger, there is more potential to create larger blasts of light. -Likely to be strict and cold.
3. The Empress -Support. Ability to slightly increase others' powers. As this power aids them less at first glance, it does not decrease their own energy and using it can potentially increase their own energy. As they get more powerful, they will be able to double everyone's powers around them and gain energy from that as well -Likely to be motherly and protective.
4. The Emperor [Taken] -Cancellation. They are able to weaken another's power. As they get stronger, they may have the ability to shut down another person's power, not forever, but for a while. -Likely to be fatherly and fair.
5. The Hierophant -Weatherman. Can predict and partially control the weather. As they get stronger, they can gain more control on controlling the weather. -Likely to be wise and ready for anything. 6-10
6. The Lovers -Charmspeaker. Able to convince others to do small tasks or persuade someone to lean one way or another. Once they get stronger, are able to get others to do more complicated tasks with less difficulty. -Likely to be flirtatious and/or looking for the one. A romantic.
7. The Chariot -Speedster. Can go at faster speeds than a normal person can. Unfortunately, they are clumsier while going quicker. As they grow stronger, their speed can get faster and less chaotic, with a more clear pathway instead. -Likely to be self-sufficient and a go-getter. Possibly enjoys winning.
8. Strength -Strongwo/man. Can lift fairly heavy objects with little difficulty and generally are well.... strong. If powerful enough, can lift any object despite weight and can pack a heavy enough punch to break bones. -Likely to be overconfident and feel mighty.
9. The Hermit -Chameleon. Can blend in with surroundings. Change their appearance to fit their surroundings. Once powerful enough, there can be no trace of the person in the room when using their power. -Likely to be intelligent and antisocial. Or at least closed off.
10. Wheel of Fortune -Copycat. They can copy other's powers, however generally require a coin (or some object of gambling) in order to actually copy it. Once powerful enough, they can do this without a coin. One way or another, the power they copy will always be weaker in their own use. -Likely to bet/gamble and be curious.
11-15
11. Justice -Truther. Have the ability to cause people to tell the truth. Generally avaiable with questions only and not even all questions until powerful enough. Once powerful enough, they can use power with ease and the questions are not necessary. -Likely to be equal and open-minded.
12. The Hanged Man -Shield. Ability to summon force fields to defend against small objects that will bounce off. Once they get stronger, their force fields will be much stronger and defensive, being almost if not impenetrable. -Likely to be self-sacrificing and like the Fool, foolish.
13. Death -Prophet. Or rather, can see the future. Generally only in small, unclear bits. As they go stronger, the can see the future more clear and for longer bursts of time. -Likely to be somber and sweet.
14. Temperance -Aura Reader. Has the ability to read the emotions of those around them. Once they get stronger, it will be possible to manipulate those emotions. -Likely to be kind and watchful of those around them.
15. The Devil Demon -Jinx. Can cause brief bad luck or similar unlucky curses. Generally harmless, trickster curses and nothing that can last forever. When they get more power, it can either last longer or have a stronger effect. -Likely to be funny and a joker. 16-21
16. The Tower -Teleportation. Ability to hop from one place to another, generally short distances and often in sight. When they get stronger, they can start to teleport further away with less of the place in sight. -Likely to be nervous and less stable.
17. The Star -Healer. The opposite of the fool. Unable to heal themself, however they can heal small scrapes and bruises of others. Once more powerful, they would be able to heal broken bones, help the blind see, deaf hear, etc. Those, though are more likely to be temporary than constant, unless they are extremely powerful. -Likely to be peaceful and wishful.
18. The Moon -Cold. Can control the, lessen the temperature of the room, freeze objectes such as water. As they grow stronger, potentially being in a room could freeze it over. -Likely to be moody and controlling. Possibly even insecure.
19. The Sun -Heat. Can control warmth, rise the temperature of a room, cause objects such as water or metal to boil or melt. As they grow stronger, potentially being in a room could cause it to start to burn. -Likely to be joyful and aloof.
20. Judgement -Mind Reader. Ability to read short thoughts in other's minds. As the grow stronger, can stay in another's mind longer and listen to their thoughts with more ease. -Likely to be thoughtful and insightful.
21. The World -Able to see a person's past/memories. Generally, a touch is needed and only small, blurry parts will come through. Once they are more powerful, a single touch can allow them to see a clear past. Perhaps, if powerful enough, needing to touch would not be needed. -Likely to be mellow and satisfied with life.
Minor Arcana:: The four living Minor Arcana are aware of their powers and people's history. They each deal with a different element in which they can control. Each received the Ace of their type, as they are too few Minor Arcana and too many types of cards for each suit. As well as that, each type has a general theme to their suits cards which can potentially be followed through with. Preferably, the Minor Arcana holders are ages 25+. Cups (Taken) -They can control water, seemingly summon it from nowhere. They can manipulate the shape of water. -Caring people person. Often likes celebrating over emotional reasons. Often romantic based. -Wish to rebuild enchanters' society. "Good side." Rebuilder.
Swords (Taken) -They can manipulate air. They can can control air currents, where air is most closely based, and even lift objects with air.. -Distrustful and childlike almost. Headstrong and opinionated, yet stressed out with many negative emotions. -Wish for power and to destroy any who dare to defy them. "Evil side." Destroyer.
Rods -They have the ability to control fire. Able to summon it out of nothingness and create as large or small of a fire as needed. -Intelligent and full of ideas. Opinionated, yet open. Determined about the future. -want to study the enchanters in total in order to use their powers for the 'greater good.' User.
Pentacles -Possess the capacity to manipulate the earth. Focuses on rocks and ground material, and has an easier time forming the earth to its will. -Responsible, and greedy. Very concerned with money and work-related issues. Trustworthy man... when it comes to finances. -Want to make money off of the enchanters, probably create a museum/exhibit focusing on enchanters and their power. "Corrupt side" Preserver.
Q/A:: Any questions? Ask away. This world is in the process of being built, so questions help further it!
Q:: What is the setting of the roleplay? A:: This is a modern roleplay, set in the (not real) city Medeis City.

Character Lists::
Minor Arcana ::
Holder of the Cups- (taken) :: Aldric Thornwell :: cups :: 46 :: male :: :: Aldric is an older man, with short and scruffy dark brown hair. He has a small beard the same color, complimenting the man's darker skin. He is blind in one eye, though it is rather unnoticable with the blue tinted glasses he wears. He other eye is a simple brown, though the scar traling down towards his eye is not able. Despite his eyes, he has a friendly look to him. He is on the larger side, not as though he really pays mind to it. :: personality :: background :: :: other :: CreamCrow ::
Holder of the Swords- (taken) :: Ashton Balliol :: swords :: 25 :: male :: :: The absolute, psychical embodiment of a pretty boy. He has dark blue eyes, and a charming smile. His hair is dark, and messy in the sort of way that is actually attractive. He has a nice build, slightly muscular and tanned skin that compliments him well. His skin is white and creamy, generally flawless looking with the exception of his symbol on his left shoulder blade. :: Ashton can be described as childlike- if he doesn't get what he wants when he wants, he is not happy. When he decides something, it is extremely difficult to change his mind without a good enough reason in his mind. He is quite manipulative and will betray and hurt others to achieve his goals- keeping in mind that nobody is to be trusted as well. His goals stem from his need to be powerful- and he very much dislikes those who are proven to be more powerful than him. It leaves him somewhat distant with others, emotions such as guilt do not really exist to him. :: Ashton grew up aware that he had a common Arcana type, and was shunned by his father for it. His father used to be a holder of the card the Fool, so for his son to have a common power was saddening to him. His mother was in a similar boat, with the Hanged Man's power, however she didn't nearly care as much about Ashton's card. After the simultaneous deaths of both parents, Ashton was overjoyed about his father and partially saddened by his mother's death. He focused on his father's death more, realizing he was extremely powerful being one of the only enchanters alive. Until he discovered there were more, as Aldric attempted to take him in at the age of 15. He denied it immediately, seeing as there was a holder of cards with Aldric as well. It essentially pissed him off, and has been researching different holders since that point, waiting for a time to strike. :: :: Ashton is not considered to be right in the mind, and certainly has a power-complex due to his father praising higher powers. Also, he would prefer not to immediately kill. He would rather everyone else obey him as the strongest first, and if that does not work, then kill them. He has met Elymas once when he was 15 and Eli was 7, though Elymas had no memory of the encounter. Due to Eli being raised by Aldric, it is saffe to safe he dislikes Eli the most. :: CreamCrow ::
Holder of the Rods-
Holder of the Pentacles-
Major Arcana :: 0-5
0. The Fool
1. The Magician :: Elymas (Eli) Thornwell :: magician :: 17 :: male :: :: Eli is rather small and physically weak. He considers himself short at the amazing height of 5'5, 3 inches smaller than his older sister Cassandra. Eli has pretty, tousled brown hair with curly locks. His hair covers his right eye, for no other reason than aesthetics- though it is possible he is really just using his power to make him look like that. His eyes seemingly change color, however generally lie on a hazel-green that he enjoys. He claims they compliment his olive skintone. :: Elymas does not give a damn about what anyone thinks of him. He actually picks a lot of fights, and is extremely confident of himself. Arrogant even. Perhaps it could lean on overconfident and extremely cocky. He likes to mess with people, play tricks on them using his power. He dislikes to listen to other's orders, end needs to be really edges on to do so. His major philosophy is "Do whatever the heck is most fun." The only exception has to do with loyalty- gain his loyalty and he will not betray you unless you betray him first. :: He was brought up by Aldric since he was 5. His mother was Aldric's sister, and when she was killed, Aldric adopted Elymas as his own son. With that, he has the most experience to learn about powers and the culture- making him the one exception to those who are using their powers. It was on his birthday, around a year later, that he received the Magician card. It surprised both him and Aldric, and Aldric from that point on taught Elymas how to control and strengthen it. It was do to this his arrogant personality formed, knowing he had powers beyond an average person. It led to him being a troublesome child. When Cassandra was adopted by Aldric, Elymas was honestly unsure about her and attempted to pick a fight before settling on the fact that she was decent enough. He often braids her hair now and is closest to her. :: :: He will lie about his name. If someone asks him what his name is, he will most likely answer with Eli- however may decided to call himself Elliot as he very much dislikes his actual name. He is also bisexual. :: CreamCrow ::
2. The High Priestess :: Cassandra (Cass/Cassie) Thornwell-York :: high priestess :: 18 :: female :: :: Cass is a beautiful, fair-skinned young lady. She has a willowy figure- tall, thin, and lithe. Her hair is long and somewhat wavy, a natural light blonde. She dislikes it being down, so it is common to see it in a braid or ponytail often made by her brother. Her has extremely light blue eyes, often holding a coldness to strangers and such. She is well built as a person, often participating in sports, clubs, and what she is most known for at her school, the student body president. Cass upholds certain beauty standards for herself, thus up-keeping her cold beauty. :: Cass portrays a certain personality around most people with very few exceptions. She acts cold in general. Emotions do not easily slip past her, and it is quiet easy to find her with a serious face and cold words. She is quite serious when one talks with her as well. Don't get her wrong, she does have emotions and if you are close enough to her she will have an attachment and care for you. She trusts rarely anyone. She primarily cares for her adopted brother, Elymas. He is the most likely person anyone will see her laughing with. :: Cassandra used to live with her mother a fairly simple life. According to her mother, her father left before he even knew Cassandra was born. She was 13 when she received the high priestess card, the second quickest to get it- with specific reason behind it. She received her card a week after her mother, a human, died- a car accident. She was put into a foster system for a very brief time- barely a month after she was basically adopted by Aldric Thornwell. He helped teach her how to use her powers to a better extent- and it was also the time she bonded with her new brother, Elymas. Initially they got along very well, as time progressed they differed in personality and views, however they stayed close. :: :: Cassandra has two nicknames. If one wishes, they can call her Cass- however, Cassie is reserved for Elymas to call her and only Elymas. She is actually decent with her powers having practiced with it for 5 years. :: CreamCrow ::
3. The Empress
4. The Emperor :: Aias Marquardt :: The Emperor :: 19 :: Male :: :: Aias is rather tall at 6'1, with a broad-shouldered athletic build and a multitude of scars that don't quite detract from his understated handsomeness. He has an angular face with thin brows, full ever-smiling lips, and sharp downturned eyes. They're a warm hazel, practically golden, and seem perpetually warmed by his earnest compassion. Aias' cinnamon hair falls to his shoulders in unruly waves, tied up when needed but usually left alone with an occasional attempt to tame it with his fingers. Three gently curled locks brush against the left side of his face and fall in between his eyes in uneven bangs. While only three scars mar his face- a deep two-inch wide fang-shaped scar trailing from the corner of his left eye and ending at his jaw, another shallower one crossing the bridge of his nose and ending on his right cheekbone, and a smaller one arcing over his right brow- the majority of his scars litter his torso and right arm. :: Aias possesses an air of serenity that can verge on inhuman. Ever calm and levelheaded, he takes everything in stride and remains a quiet though no less stalwart pillar of support for friend and stranger alike. He's compassionate and willing to help whenever there's a need but shies away when placed in a leadership role or given significant responsibility. Aias' low self-esteem means that he always puts others before himself, believing they're more deserving, and doesn't trust himself to undertake anything that could be considered a challenge. When it comes to those in his care, however, Aias has a tendency to go overboard when it comes to meeting needs, acting as protection, or simply being a friend. He's naturally a very introspective person and rarely speaks or voices his solemn thoughts. When it comes to tense situations, however, Aias attempts to defuse them with Dad Jokes™ or black humor. :: Aias belongs to a splintered family, having grown up with his divorced alcoholic father while his twin brother was taken in by an aunt. His abusive childhood resulted in both low self-esteem and delinquency that earned him many of his scars and a bloody reputation in his former town. It wasn't until he was eighteen that he resolved to 'clean up' and stop living in a haze of reckless wrath. The change wasn't exactly immediate, and yet a mere year and a half later he's saving up for college by working multiple part-time jobs and somehow managing to volunteer at shelters on top of that. He lives in an apartment with his estranged brother. :: :: His nickname is Jax, as an homage to his namesake. Aias resorts to a variety of techniques meant to control emotions and keep him calm- He has a formidable, destructive temper that reveals his sadistic side. He only ever managed to tame it -mostly- after he nearly killed his brother. Naturally, he's a very skilled and adaptable combatant, having fought his way from ages 9 to 18. Nowadays he strives to follow a pacifistic philosophy, even though his first instinct when encountering a problem is to kill it. Aias is actually an introvert but often finds himself surrounded by others anyway. Kids scare him. ::sweaterpawsuga ::
5. The Heirophant
6-10
6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11-15
11. 12. 13. 14. 15.
16-21
16. 17. 18. 19. 20. 21.
The Average (Humans) :: Uninvolved
:: Merci Davis :: uninvolved Human :: 15 :: female :: :: A dark-skinned, short girl with large doe eyes is the person that makes up Merci Davis. On the chubby side, Mercy looks like a sweet doll-faced girl. Merci's hair is an untameable dark mess. There are streaks of blue in the tangled mess. Her eyes are fairly average, a simple dark brown color. She has a small scrape on her bottom lip, which she takes pride in. :: Merci is up for an actual fight, constantly and consistently. She has a sweet demeanor, but is easy to anger. She is completely aware of her anger issues, but has decided to not take any real action to fight it as she believes she can handle herself well. Merci is also a curious girl, and will do whatever it takes to get to the bottom of it. She loves mysteries and almost anything involving clues and secrets. :: Merci has a little brother living with her mom. She lives with her dad- who wants her to talk to a therapist to help with her anger issues. She is in good relations with all of her family, as her mom and dad - despite being separated- are on good terms and allow their children to visit constantly. :: :: other :: CreamCrow ::

:: Phoebos Marquardt:: Death :: 19 :: Male :: :: Phoebos shares his twin's build and patrician features, standing a mere three centimeters shorter but with an equally lithe figure. Though not identical, their faces bear such a strong resemblance that they could be mistaken as such at first glance. There are minute differences, however, barring Phoebos' glaring lack of scars- He has a longer face and narrower heavy-lidded eyes shaded in soft caramel, a color often burnished with a warmth that can't quite match up to the sincerity of Aias'. His wavy sienna hair is kept shorter and neater, though he too occasionally has locks that escape their careful rearranging to fall in between his eyes. Phoebos' overall impression isn't quite as welcoming either. He's more likely to smirk than to smile, lips curved and lids lowered in a subtle arrogance that seems to imply he's quietly laughing at someone else's expense. His sharp chin is always raised in a way that suggests a tangible confidence in his own skin that is present in honeyed words and beguiling grins. :: Phoebos is a stone-cold realist with a rather clinical way of seeing the world. There is little that he truly believes in- beyond himself- and he defends these ideals and his own ego with worrying passion. His temper is almost as destructive as his brother's, but with a distinctly different quality. Phoebos is the complete opposite of reckless, in fact, he almost borders on paranoid with how cautious he is about even seemingly nonsensical things- Born of his superstitious nature. His thirst for knowledge and esteem are both a blessing and a curse, as like Aias, Phoebos really doesn't understand what 'limits' are. Or why they're necessary. While he relies on being seen as kindly and goodnatured to slither into others' social graces, Phoebos is a genuinely affectionate person- To a select few- And in such a sincere and obvious way that he can almost make up for the fact that he had been contemplating stabbing them in the back before he decided that he likes them. Or that he'll wait for a better opportunity. :: Phoebos had a distinctly dissimilar childhood from his brother, growing up in a slightly more loving home that was better off financially than their father. He graduated middle and highschool early, and was preparing to go to a major university when news of Aias' exploits prompted him to settle for online classes instead. Phoebos has only recently moved into Medeis City, as he grew up in Greece, their father's original home before he was disowned. :: Though he doesn't make a habit of actively seeking out fights, Phoebos managed a similar though less hardened build to Aias' through martial arts training primarily meant to foster discipline and for its health benefits. Neither a morning person nor a night owl, yet he's a light sleeper who responds with violence when wakened. Secretly a nerd. Of course fluent in Greek and still speaks with the accent. Also fairly well-versed in Turkish, what he believes to be his mother's native tongue. Part of his academic success is due to his exceptional memory. ::sweaterpawsuga::
