KESTRELKIT | The Nursery | Fawnsong, Foxkit
Kestrelkit let out a soft purr as her mother touched the top of her head, feeling so much warmer and cosier than she had been moments before. "I wouldn't get lost in the forest I bet." she meowed confidently to her sister in response, puffing out her chest. Her thoughts of exploring the woods, however, were interrupted by the couple behind her. She frowned at the sound of the two older cats arguing, and had half a mind to tell them to be quiet! Of course, that was the leader of their clan, so even she knew that she should keep her mouth shut. Her eyes peered over Fawnsong's tail though, watching the pair curiously. She wondered why Milkstar never seemed to come to see his kits very often - Twistedfoot was the medicine cat but he still came all the time!
Her curiosity peaked when Milkstar didn't seem to know his own kit's name. That's Emberkit! The thought flashed through her mind and she had to resist from yelling it out, instead turning back to her family. "Fawnsong," she began, looking up at the she-cat, "Why does Milkstar not know Emberkit's name?" she asked innocently, tilting her head to the side in question. She didn't think to keep her voice down, but hopefully the pair wouldn't hear her over their heated discussion anyway.

EAGLESTRIKE | Leaving Camp | Fogpaw
Fogpaw's excitement didn't go unnoticed by the older tom - how could it when he was literally prancing around him - but Eaglestrike planned to use that energy to really push the apprentice to his limits. While it was all well and good to know and learn different battle moves, the real difficulty in the midst of battle was its pace and unpredictability. Battle instincts could not be taught, but if Eaglestrike put his apprentice in a high pressure situation, then perhaps they would start to be developed.
At Fogpaw's question, Eaglestrike shook his head, the pair exiting camp and headed towards a large clearing nearby. He could remember when he himself underwent battle training there, and he was excited to now be training a younger cat there and pass down what he knew. "You'll just be practising with me today. I know that will make it harder than your average training, but in battle you could be up against cats of all different sizes and strengths. You need to be prepared for them all."

He offered a meek smile to his mate and leaned over to gently touch her ear with his nose before drawing back away and casting a look over towards the nest. It appeared to be empty and the tom figured they were out meeting their clan-mates still. "Nothing is wrong," Milkstar spoke to her in an even tone, giving nothing away. "I see all of the kits are out-" he paused, suddenly noticing a stirring tiny body in the dimly lit den. "-oh, except that one," he nodded towards the kit with almost identical markings to her mother. Milkstar stared at the kit, realizing that he had no idea what its name was, and that even more embarrassingly, he couldn't quite recall which one he had named Featherkit, after his own mother. "Do you think it would be alright if I took that one out for a quick look around camp?" He asked Dappledblossom hesitantly, half expecting her to rip his ears off at the suggestion.
☪ Ooc >> ☪ RP >> Emberkit had been exploring her the back of the den when her father walked in, she smiled widely and her tail wiggled in happiness, she was walking to the edge of the tree root that blocked her pass as she she heard her father say, "That one." She hesitated, She didn't know what this meant although she had a dreadful feeling about it. He's probably just been so busy, She waved it off and put on a smile, jumping over the tiny root and running up to her father. "Hi" She cringed as he said that one again.

Fawnsong smiled at Kestrelkit's boast. "When you're an apprentice, you can explore the forest alongside your mentor." Fawnsong reminded the kit gently, though her meow was filled with soft amusement. The queen followed the small kit's gaze to back to the tense scene at the mouth of the den, her amber eyes concerned. Hearing her kit's questioning mew, Fawnsong lightly stroked Kestrelkit's back with the tip of her tail. "I'm sure he does know Emberkit's name," she replied in a quiet voice, giving the curious kit's cheek a quick lick with her scratchy tongue as she watched Emberkit bounce up to her father. "Milkstar is a very busy cat, and even he forgets important things." the tabby added after a moment's thought, turning her head to the white tom. "Right, Milkstar?" she pressed, giving him a wordless look - the kind of look that said 'don't disappoint the kits'.

His tiny claws were unsheathed, tightly clutching the dust as if he was worried he would drift away. Padding away from Featherkit and Lionclaw, Galekit made his way to Wolfkit and stood behind him. "You know Wolfkit's got a point," he sounded out smoothly. "You are not going to be immune from trouble. You saw how Milkstar avoided our gaze today? It would be better to stay in his good graces. I'm just worried..." His voice trailed off, lost to the winds.

• Sparrowpelt • Elder • Camp •Cloudheart // ashfeather Sparrowpelt smiled in response as the tom's response. "Very well, thank you," He responded rather jovially for his usual sarcastic nature. "I'm coming back from seeing Dappleblossom's new kits. They're quite the bundle." He added on, stopping by the snow white cat and carefully positioning himself so that he wasn't facing the sun. "There is something about kits, don't you think? They just make everyone a little bit more hopeful." With that he glanced back briefly at the nursery den, and took a deep breath, feeling once more that pang of regret, that the clan was moving on without him. He flicked his ears thoughtfully, and erased the passing image from his mind. How selfish of him.

Lionclaw | Camp | with Featherkit, Galekit, Splashkit & Wolfkit Lionclaw had been minding his own business, walking around then suddenly giving up and sitting down. The scowl on his face remained, as his ears flicked back in annoyance- he had nothing to do. However, he suddenly heard a few mewls from nearby. Shouldn't those pesky kits stay in the nursery? Sadly, by the time Lionclaw had said this- it was too late. He felt multiple balls of weight land on his furry back and he couldn't help but let out a low growl in surprise. His ears were now flat, reaching the back of his head while his fur began to bristle. He shook the kits off his back like they were mere droplets of water, and he whipped around immediately afterward to give them a stern talking to.
"Do YOU think that was acceptable?" The powerful tom's sharp words boomed throughout the camp as he pulled his lip back in annoyance while facing the group of kits. As he said this, he realized who the kits really were; Milkstar's. "If I told your father about this he sure wouldn't be pleased." Lionclaw's deep voice sounded quite threatening as he leaned down to stare at the kits in their eyes.

Fogpaw | Camp | with Eaglestrike
Fogpaw couldn't help but feel slightly nervous, yet excited at the same time. He would enjoy it more than anything to be able to train with a warrior such as his mentor, and hopefully, he'd be able to put up a fight. At the moment, Fogpaw's size was close to being the same as one of the smaller warriors- therefore, being a smaller size wouldn't affect him in this situation. However, Fogpaw had just hoped that he'd know what to do when the training begins. He had been out a few times with his mentor before, but never something too often as they normally go out on border patrols with a handful of other cats.
His paws padded along the earth as he walked next to the knowledgeable cat. He couldn't help but feel happy that they were training alone. "Eaglestrike, would I ever have to truly fight a warrior even as an apprentice?" The curious yet naive apprentice couldn't help but ask. Truly, he had never fought in a real battle due to the low amount of other cats around this territory, Willowclan had also been okay with predators lately.

It might not have been acceptable, but it was really rather funny, would have been Splashkit's honest reply had she dared to give it. But in the face of a tom who seemed to be a million times larger than herself, she would have sooner said it to the face of a badger. The tiny calico looked terrified out of her wits, and for a moment didn't seem to even know how to begin to reply to the tom. Her only interactions more or less before this point having been with her mother or one of the other nursery queens or kits, none of whom were nearly as intimidating as the creature before her now. Now she quite largely regretted not suggesting to Galekit that they hurry up back to the nursery, it seemed like the tom before her was about to use her pelt to line his nest. "I doubt Milkstar will care," she then added quietly twitching her tail tip a little.
"I'm sorry, sir!" She squeaked, unable to properly meow in the state of terror she was in. "Featherkit and Galekit didn't mean to make you angry!" [/sub] [/p]

{ I don't know if it's a smart idea to have a bunch of kits when there's this plot coming up but if 𝚌𝚊𝚛'𝚊'𝚌𝚊𝚛𝚗 is okay with it then I'd be okay with it too. It's not too unusual for queens to nurse 4 to 5 kits so as long as we're going along with that in mind it should be alright. }

Milkstar tried not to let his embarrassment and frustrations show as he nodded, "Yes, that one," he repeated, racking his brain for a name to attach to the kit's face. "You should remember this!" he thought, angry at himself. "Featherkit .." he thought, pausing to remember their birth and naming. "Splashkit, Galekit, and .. Emberkit," he felt confident that these were the names he and Dappledblossom had picked out, but less than confident that he would be calling on the right one. "I was busy Dappledblossom. Our kits should understand that," he replied with a hint of bitterness. He didn't have time to stand around the nursery being lectured or insulted, he needed to talk to the bundle of fur staggering around the den. He shot Fawnsong a hard look and nodded at her, the embarrassment only growing as the moments passed inside of the nursery. As the kit came tumbling towards him, the tom couldn't help but break out into a smile. "Emberkit!" The name rolled off his tongue easily after seeing the kit's face in the light coming through the entrance. "How would you like to come with me. I'll show you the whole camp," he told the she-kit, hopefulness in his voice. Milkstar subconsciously had been avoiding eye-contact with Dappledblossom and turning his back to her, and he didn't plan on acknowledging her again until bringing her back their kit. Milkstar began padding out of the den, turning back to encouragingly motion with his tail for Emberkit to follow.

"If Milkstar won't give me any attention, I'll get it myself! There's plenty of warriors who want to play with me," Featherkit thought with heartache. If all he needed to do was bug Lionclaw for some cats to pay attention to him then it was worth any of the repercussions that came along with his actions. He was having fun and so was Galekit, and he was having fun with the rest of his den-mates, all without his demeaning father, who had soon begun to lose his place as a role model to the little tom who was as impressionable as any kit. Other options were much more favorable to a young cat than Milkstar.
"Lionclaw doesn't scare me!" He squeaked to Wolfkit as he launched onto the warrior. Featherkit tried his best to hang on to Lionclaw, but with a simple swish of his body the warrior had flung them off. "Hey! Galekit and I were just having fun," he complained, "Right Wolfkit?" But as he said so he felt himself shrinking under Lionclaw's harsh words. Maybe this cat was someone to be scared of after all. The white kit scampered off back towards his siblings, a look of regret and fear streaked across his face. "We were just playing!" He answered back as he skidded towards a stop near the other kits and squeezed in close to Splashkit.

"That tom sure is causing a lot of trouble in here," Foxkit thought to herself, trying to analyze the situation and understand why everybody was feeling so tense and uncomfortable. "You're going to get eaten by a bear out there. That's what Twistedfoot said," Foxkit babbled to Kestrelkit, "Well, no, he didn't say that but he did say there are huge beasts out in the forest called bears and they're so big that they cover up the sun wherever they walk! With the biggest paws you've ever seen that have teeth on the end of them, and mean black eyes," the she-kit embellished her story with the addition of a few "growls" and swipes of her paws. "Twistedfoot!" The kit suddenly chirped, happiness bubbling from her, "he said he'd bring us some fish today".

Dappledblossom narrowed her eyes a little, twitching an ear towards her eldest daughter and letting out a gentle sigh as she lowered her nose to lick the shecat between the ears in greeting. “What do you think, little one? Ready to venture into the world yet?” She asked with a chuckle, deciding she could leave her mate’s scolding for later, as much as she was frustrated with him, she saw no need to tarnish her kits image of him just yet, soon enough they would be capable of doing that for themselves should they wish to, and Dappledblossom would play no part in leading a bias. Wrapping her long black tail around Emberkit and drawing her close to her flank with a low rumbling sigh.
Splashkit pressed close to her brother, hiding a little behind him, though she stood out like a sore thumb with her black fur against the white of his. She regarded the warrior with a nervous look, waiting for his reaction and praying he wouldn’t kill them. Whilst part of her was certain he probably wouldn’t kill the leader’s kits, in that moment she wasn’t too entirely sure about it.

Lionclaw | Camp | with Featherkit, Galekit, Splashkit & Wolfkit The grumpy tom huffed stressfully. He could sense his anger reaching it's peak as the skin under his fur grew hot, however, when he saw the regretful look on all of the kits faces he decided to tone it down a little. Lionclaw stopped his snarling and let his long fur lay flat, but his eyes still pierced into every one of the kits'. He glared, and began to speak in a rough tone. "Find someone else to mess around with, and don't bug me again. You kits would be better off with the apprentices or some lazy warrior."
The seemingly cold-hearted tom rose to his feet and towered over the little ones before stalking off through the camp; his tail hanging low. Yet, before he wandered off too far he turned back to look at the bunch. "If you're ever going to seriously battle a cat, you aim for the throat- not the spine." He then continued his grumpy stalk and headed closer to the entrance of the camp, decided whether or not it was time for him to leave.

Wolfkit touched Galekit's shoulder with his tailtip in a gesture of reassurance. "They were just playing," the kit echoed Featherkit's words, lifting his chin in a show of bravery for his den-mates. The kit was bigger than the others, and attempted to use his size as a form of comfort and protection for the others, near-bristling at the warrior's scathing tone. The tom watched the warrior stalk off, and his parting words caused the kit's fur to fluff up with indignation. "They weren't trying to kill you, grumpy furball," the mottled tabby huffed under his breath. Sure, Featherkit could be a pain in the side at times, but not to the point for that intense of scolding.

Iceheart | Camp | —
Iceheart had finally made her way back into the camp with multiple pieces of prey hanging from her jaws. She found it funny due to the fact she was carrying all the prey alike to how a queen would carry her kits. Good thing I'm not planning on having any of those little monsters any time soon. Seen in her jaws was two mice, one shrew and a small fish. The she-cat had been out in the woods all morning, so it was no surprised that she had caught so many things, even despite being a good hunter.
Her fur had been covered in dried mud used to hide her slighlty white fur while she stalked all sorts of prey, sadly this meant she would have to bathe for quite awhile. She slowly made her way to the fresh-kill pile and left all of her findings. She then began to lick at her paws and legs as she made her way to the Warrior's den.
