Year: 4163
Month: August
Day: 12
Much thanks to Moonfur for our new banner!
Following the events of previous years and increasing tensions between The Catorcian Alliance and The Coalition, the state of intergalactic affairs is not looking good.
Catorce seems to be pulling more and more power out of seemingly nowhere, while The Coalition is spread thin. 4163 is posed to be a powerful year in shaping intergalactic power distribution. Catorce’s vengeance over population issues has been forgotten since the war began; they seem more concerned now with utter domination. The leaders of the Alliance become more blinded by power with every victory- which there are an unsettling amount of. While the three main powers* in the Coalition remain steadfast and mostly untouched, moods are uneasy with the general populous and outright anxious with the military leaders. While firepower slowly dwindles in the shadow of the seemingly unstoppable Alliance, generals and soldiers alike try to hold on to hope of turning the tide.
Meanwhile, other factions have been throwing their hat in the ring. Some with political motivations, some with economic motivations, and… some without motivations. The Vastarans in particular were very active in the wartime politics two years ago, but little has been heard from them since. The Taier briefly attempted contact with the Alliance, and then again with the Aglitan Empire but little seemed to come of these meetings. They have not been heard from since. Other, smaller factions, have had minor interactions with any range of the larger intergalactic powers. Factions on the rise seem to be the Aglitan Empire (along with The Advent) and possibly the Taier.

~~Factions~~
These are the most important aspects of the war. These are the sides that are fighting and why they're fighting. Pick your side wisely, and defend it with your life.
The Coalition Forces:
Considered by many the supreme galactic superpower (but curiously too humble to admit such a thing), the Coalition Forces are one of the two main sides in the Catorcian War, the other of course being the Catorcian Alliance. Composed mainly of Earth, Ceretella, and Travidia, the Coalition Forces are the result of post Great War negotiations. They now defend the galaxy from scum and try to work in everybody's interest.
The Catorcian Alliance:
After the Great War, Catorce had been left ravaged of the simplest of resources- population. Catorce opened its arms to allow planets to take it's population for militaristic use, but quickly this became a problem, and before they knew it, Catorce was seriously injured. Now, Catorce, along with Snarvaria and other planets have formed the Catorcian Alliance to combat the heartless forces that ravaged their planet over a century ago.
The Shadows:
The United Shadow Directorate was created during the Great War by Shadow. The initial group of Shadows, then called Ghosts, created a refuge for humans fleeing the war and established a home in the Epsilon Eridani System. They immediately began preparing for war as Earth wasn’t going to take kindly to ‘traitors’.
At present day the United Shadow Directorate has formed a government based around a council of elected leaders who in turn take orders from an individual known only as The Shadow. The core of everything that Shadows do is for the protection of their people and homes as well as their independence. Quite a few of their population are superhuman due to the interbreeding of Shadows and non-Shadows over the years.
The iron core of their military strength is their Shadows, elite augmented super soldiers who are required to serve ten years of active duty and twenty in the reserve. Their standard infantry are far better trained and equipped than the Coalitions due to necessity as their numbers are far fewer than the Coalitions. They rely on several highly controversial methods to maintain their technological superiority over the Coalition and the training of their Shadows.
The S.H.A.D.E.S.:
The elite and elusive fighting force of the Vastaran Empire, but are not necessarily a branch of their military. They only answer to the Empress, and are selected for their distinguished valor, and strength. When I say 'strength', I don't mean just physical force, but also intelligence and mental speed, the ability to plan ahead. They are expected to protect and serve their people, to toil in darkness so others may live in the light, their sole purpose to lay waste to all those who oppose and threaten the Empire and it's interests, or lay down their lives in the attempt. However, as I said before, they are not necessarily a military branch, and this is because they are not supposed to exist, even though they clearly do. War is a sport to the Vastarans, and for them to admit they need the guerrilla warfare tactics, finesse, and espionage to win is a dirty stain to them, and even though the S.H.A.D.E.S. carry more status and authority, it is said they shouldn't be trusted. The plus side to this though is the advanced technology, training, and equipment at their disposal, not to mention the attention of potential mates.
Merak Planetary Confederacy (MPC):
The MPC was formed in 2642 according to the standard galaxy date system, which was exactly 6 years in the AW (After-War) date system. What the Merak refer to as the War was a siege made against them by a vastly superior bio-mechanical alien race that lasted forty years and nearly destroyed the entire planet. The Merak were enslaved by this race and huge numbers of them were killed off. (According to MPC records, exactly 2,083,932 Merak survived the War, and around 500,000 died in the following years due to long-term effects of War injuries.) By what seems to be an incredible stroke of luck, Merak revolutionaries by the name of the Crusaders managed to commandeer and sabotage the enemy fleet. By the time the enemy was able to retaliate, the Crusaders had captured their command ship and shut down their entire network, immediately killing the bio-robotic soldiers. From then on, the Merak were able to completely eradicate the alien occupation and take back their planet. The MPC was formed to rebuild the Merak civilization, expand to other worlds to prevent a planetary catastrophe like the War from wiping out the species, and to defend the Utalus system from further threats. As a faction, the MPC is really more of a collection of the Merak planets. Each planet governs and rules itself for the most part, but all are part of the MPC and must lend each other military support in times of war and share resources with the other planets of the MPC. In wartime, planets are required to band together and help each other in every way possible. The MPC also has the right to command or assume control of planets in emergency situations. All military and diplomatic forces are under the control of the MPC. In inter-species relations, the MPC represents the Merak race. The MPC is run by a council which is made of representatives or rulers from each planet. Comparable to the Ancient Greek government, where City-States were seperate but all were considered Greek due to their culture and their unity against outside threats (most of the time). They have not yet encountered other space-faring civilizations as they have been attempting to rebuild their species for the last 1520 or so years.
The Aglitan Federation:
In the early days of human spaceflight an expedition they came upon the Aquila, a pre-spaceflight species dying from a plague. By use of their advanced technology the human expedition was able to cure the plague, saving the species from extinction. The leaders and scientist of the expedition became near messianic figures, and technology the new religion. Shortly into the expedition contact was "lost" and the Earth government assumed them KIA. It wasn't until hundreds of years later that a new expedition was sent, and by that time the Aglitan Empire was set in stone. The Empire is a constitutional monarchy based around the descendants of the leaders of the expedition, and representatives from each planet elected to a parliament. Before a descendant can be crowned Emperor or Empress they must either prove themselves in battle in times of war, or skilled in peace during times of peace.
The Aglitan Empire is composed mostly of approximately ninety five percent aquilans and five percent humans. Due to the early years in which there was a population crisis, combat doctrine strongly favors minimum casualties, and en masse tactics are strongly discouraged. The central religion is based around technology. The Empire has five core planets with a large population, twenty smaller colonies, and hundreds of small outpost and mines. The Aglitans maintain mostly warm relations with the Coalition, and are currently at war with the Catorcian Alliance to secure their borders.
ARP (Achi Revolutionary Presidency):
The Achi early on were a simple oligarchy, but a revolution led by Lionel reformed the government into a presidency, with elections every 10 years. Inintially formed from a small group of exiled Achi villagers, they quickly grew and set the others in line with reason, and, if that failed, force. Soon the former free Achi revolted, quickly taking over key resources and depots. However, they were stalled during the bloody battle of the capitol, eventually dethroning the dictators and establishing the ARP.
The Advent (Weird cult, ask light):
A combination cult and conspiracy, the Advent is based around a distortion of the Aglitan value of technological advancement. Ignoring all ethical testing procedures along with a disregard for the sanctity of life, the Advent's main goal is to create an artificial intelligence capable of recursive self improvement. This seed AI would be capable of rapidly programming new AIs that are also capable of programming new AIs, increasing processing power and efficiency on an exponential scale. As a side effect of this technological singularity, members of the Advent hope to transcend with the ability to upload their minds into machine, thus becoming immortal.
The Advent does not have the ability to deploy in any kind of mass conflict. As a result, when in conflict, they wage a guerilla war. Elite units strike far behind enemy lines, stealing any valuable information and materials while leaving nothing of value standing. Infantry can mainly be grouped into two categories. The first are small squads of stealthy infiltrators, while the second is composed of heavy infantry. In space, the Advent leverage their advantage in AI research to deadly affect. Blue box AIs control ship systems, delivering devastating amounts of firepower at extreme ranges, unfettered by planetary magnetic fields or complex formations. They are able to manage complex cloaking tech that allows them a large amount of stealth, getting into knife fight ranges where boarding pods can commandeer enemy ships. However, while individual Advent ships are deadly, they are few, and are mostly adapted from captured enemy ships.
The Advent have only a few permanent facilities, which are exceptionally well hidden and guarded. These facilities mainly act as industrial centers, producing blue boxes for AIs along with any experimental weapons that are being developed.
Veritan Empire:
A semi-feudalist consitutional monarchy that arose in the late 31st century by human colonists that became stranded in deep space in 2125. The Veitan Empire rose out of huge turmoil that had lasted nearly two thousand years to dominate the planet. The Veritan Empire is somewhat behind technologically due to a "time skip" of a thousand years, which was part of the incident that left them stranded. Isolated from Earth and in the presence of massive, mysterious alien artifacts, they developed a unique culture centered around idolization of human history and culture. Their political system in firmly controlled by an emperor, but various political parties vie for control over him and try to control his future heirs. The Veritans control limited territory in the galaxy, but rapid expansion means that contact with other races is inevitable and the political turmoil in the Empire is only growing... These next few years will determine the survival of the Empire, or its downfall. Army forces are referred to as VPA (Veritan Planetary Army) and the starfleet is referred to as the VSN (Veritan Space Navy).
~~Species~~
Jejikan:
Jejikans are the workhorses of many planets. Originally from Demwaki, they're next-to-colorless, and big. At about 11' tall and weighing almost 900 pounds on average, they're muscular and powerful creatures. However, they're not actually very bright. Their intelligence is a few times that of a dog. They are sentient, and can understand language, commands, and other things, it is rare that a jejikan will have even average intelligence.
Kalkus:
The kalkus are the sole inhabitants and the only species aware of the planet Lavindrica. They develop armor, no idea what for, but it is quite sophisticated. The krakenite, which are crystals deep inside the planet, are a main power source for their species. Due to the relatively dark environment, they evolved superb eyesight in dark conditions. They are a mining, industrious species. They are short, but muscular in the upper body. They aren't so much intelligent as they are crafty. They don't have much weaponry, or knowledge of science.
Aquila:
The aquila are a growing, increasingly powerful species saved a little less than a millennium ago by the early space expeditions by humans. Almost all of them live on Aglitas, which is part of the Aglitan Empire. They are short, at about 4 feet tall, but they're quick and muscular. They have a pointy face, with sharp teeth and menacing looks. After being saved by the humans, the aquila began worshipping them, putting them at the head of government, and almost seeing them as messiahs. The aquila are strong and intelligent, and very good with technology.
Humans:
The main defining trait of humans, at first, appears to be their ordinariness. Indeed, they don’t seem so special, compared to the technological Chufi and Serci, or the fierce and brutal Vastarans. How could they have possibly survived in this universe by being so ordinary? Of course, they’re anything but. Humans are one of the most adaptable and cunning species in the Coalition and the galaxy. They’re defined by a determination to survive, and this has led to them being a powerful and influential force during the Great War and thereafter. Humans are typically 5-to-6 feet tall, with specimens reaching almost 7 feet not unheard of. They’re relatively hairless besides on their head, which can range from blond, to brown, to ginger, to black and anything in-between. Their eyes can also reach a menagerie of colors, the most common being brown, blue, green, gray, and black.
Chufi:
The Chufi were one of the more influential forces in the galaxy during the Great War, and they’re defined as being technologically superior and being gifted shipwrights. They maintain a large and devastatingly effective navy. However, this could be thought of as nature’s way of compensating; Chufi ground forces are less-than-stellar when in action. Experienced commanders can still win ground fights, but an oddly large portion of their military minds choose to enter the Ceretellan Navy. Chufi, compared to Humans, are vastly more diverse in appearance. It’s normal to see a Chufi with dark-green skin, bright orange skin, or some combination thereof. Chufi are typically slim and are slightly taller-than-average than humans.
Serci:
Hailing from Travidia, the Serci used to be a mighty force in the galaxy. The Serci fought against the Earth-Ceretella alliance during the Great War, and was even able to hold its own remarkably well for awhile. Serci are resourceful and calculating; their ground forces are full of surprises, on top of being mobile. Sercilian armor is very functional, and allows the user to easily carry otherwise heavy weapons; many units sport and frequently deploy rockets or heavy weapons. Most notably, their technology incorporates biological components; this means that much of their equipment is exceptionally efficient, and some pieces are even able to heal themselves. Today, Travidia is a part of the Coalition with Earth and Ceretella, having healed diplomatic wounds, not to mention actual ones sustained during wartime. Serci are exceptionally tall, with an average height of 9 feet, and the majority are blue-skinned.
Vastarans:
Conquerors. Warriors. Overlords. Almost destroyed.
The Vastarans originally came from another galaxy, which they conquered and became the masters of. However, the creation of a second supermassive black hole tore their home galaxy apart. Hundreds of trillions died in the galaxy-killing event; the survivors created a worldship, the Unicus Machina, and loaded themselves and chosen servant races onto it, as well as remaining elements of their military. The Vastarans are the ultimate military society; they breathe war as easily as you and I breath air. Honor and glory are the mainstays of Vastaran culture, both only obtained in battle. The Vastarans are theropods; in fact, they uncannily resemble Earth’s saurians. Males have horns, and females have feather crests, and both genders tower above most races at 9-to-10 feet tall, and have ivory spikes at the end of their tails, a lethal weapon in its own right. Vastaran technology is also incredibly advanced, more so than Milky Way races; electromagnetic wave manipulation, neutronium bombs, molecule-thin wires, and vastly superior metalworking techniques to name a few.
Petra Locust:
Also loosely known as “Rock-Hopper” in the Vastaran dialect, the Petra Locusts are a marvel of biological evolution; they are able to survive in the vacuum of space unprotected. Of course, they aren’t truly “unprotected.” A Locust is covered in dense plate armor, with sections overlapping each other to allow ease of movement. The Locusts weren’t advanced, but were sapient when the Vastaran Empire encountered them. It didn't take long for them to be conquered, and the Vastarans began utilizing their unique attributes, often in shaft mining or EVA work. As a whole, the Locusts are afraid of and grateful to the Vastarans for taking them along, where they account for roughly 10% of the population of the Unicus Machina. Locusts are usually 8-9 feet tall, with long, powerful legs, and with a tail used for balance and reorientation in zero-gee. The standard coloration ranges from gray to dark-brown, with any combination thereof, and their eyes (black orbs, really) are covered with 4 eyelids. On their backs are two sails that can extend to 2 feet tall, 3 feet wide, and retract to be resealed inside the body. The Locust use these sails to absorb sunlight for a process similar to photosynthesis, while using excessive amounts of carbon to break it down. Said carbon is chemically altered into nutrients and even a few minerals.
Catorcian Species:
Catorce is nearly covered in a gigantic ocean, with a single small continent and tiny islands few and far in-between. It is inhabited by two species; the Rengal, and the Heredent. Both occupy a certain niche of their planet, but generally work together without any hassle to the point that they are both accepted with good graces by each other, and backstabbing the other species is unthinkable. Many Catorcians were taken in by both sides during the Great War, usually willingly, and many died as well. In fact, this caused a great deal of rage among the Catorcians, having received no reparations for the losses or any of the spoils. This anger was allowed to fester, until the Catorcians signed a pact with the current government of Snarvaria and declared war on the Coalition.
Rengal
The Rengal are the primary species of Catorce, solely due to the fact that they are a water-borne species, and Catorce is mostly water. Living in the ocean was harsh, and evolution has seen fit that they were the top scalies. Rengal lagged behind the Heredent technologically, due to the limitations of living underwater. They are cold-blooded, literally and figuratively; Rengal often act without emotion or remorse, and often don’t not take prisoners except if they see an opportunity to benefit themselves. Rengal can be up to 8 feet long. Depending upon which depth the Rengal lived at, they can be soft-blue, to silvery-colored, to outright jet-black. Rengal look like an angler’s worst nightmare; they were the top predators in their environment, and have mouths full of sharp teeth, with canines protruding from the top jaw. Human marine biologists had compared them to the extinct Xiphactinus species, and they do resemble the fish a great deal, only with quadruple-jointed legs and arms with webbed fingers, which grow longer as they become adults. Rengal can breath both air and water, although they dry out very quickly when out of the ocean. Above-water Rengal are also known to sport water-tanks to saturate themselves with.
Heredent
The Heredent are the land counterpart to the Rengal. At some point, evolution decided to take some Rengal and put them on land. Many millions of years later, they resembled their ocean-dwelling cousins much less; their faces looked more crocodilian in nature, and their tails are slowly becoming vestigial appendages. Their legs grew longer and stronger, but remained webbed. Of course, the Rengal still outnumbered the Heredent, but the Heredent were the true progressives of Catorce; they could discover fire in an environment that was not underwater, for one. Many advances were made by them, and they bridged the gap between the Rengal and the Heredent. Heredent are more soft-hearted compared to the Rengal, but that’s because the Rengal are so cold-blooded. Rather, it means you’re less likely to be killed by a Heredent. Most Heredent are intelligent and calculating. A Heredent can stand up to be 7-8 feet tall. Clear, vestigial fins are visible along their backs, remnants from their cousins in the sea. Their scales, oddly, didn’t evolve to camouflage them in their environment, and they stayed a deep blue throughout their evolutionary history. Heredent did evolve claws, however, and kept their teeth.
Taier:
The Taier (pronounced 'tie-ear') are, put lightly, frightening. They come from a peculiar planetary system where three planets harbored intelligent life. Due to evolutionary advantages, they advanced quicker than the other races, and soon either enslaved or wiped them out. However, they didn't wipe them out through sheer power or anything. The slender, smooth, and overall featureless bodies of the Taier conceal their darkly philosophical and calculating minds. They're not very into actual fighting, so they focus more on stealth and WMDs. And one other thing: Don't get captured by them. They will torture you in psychological ways that are simply unimaginably horrific. Don't. Get. Caught.
Achi:
Natural inhabitants of Lavindrica and Aland in the Osel system, they are weird creatures. Naturally adept diplomats, as they have organic translators in their vocal cords. However, while they may not be the most intelligent, they are crafty and find ways to bypass even the most tricky mechanical obstacles. They are akin to the animals humans call 'cats', though they are bipedal, have very large, pointy ears, and are generally quite tall. They are naturally resistant to heat that most species would be obliterated by, despite their very furry appearance, because the fur is actually quills, they just look very like fur. Unless you touch a Achi, you won't realize it's quills instead of fur. They're eyes are kind of abnormal, having two that are for short sight in their eye sockets and two for longer distance sighting that are on stalks. They also have special suits for getting around, using Omni-Lines that attach to their suit for quick travel. These also work without gravity, doubling it's use. They have very extensive knowledge of geothermal and fusion energy sources, having a power plant on Lavindrica that using the core's heat to provide energy to their spaceports. This said establishment has exploded more than once. They breathe carbon dioxide, so most planets aren't breathable for them.
Merak:
The Merak (MEER-ack) are a race of gecko-like humanoids, each standing at around 6'5 and ranging between 6'0 and 7'5 at the tallest. Merak are slender, with long limbs and and a flexible tail that is able to curve and curl in near any direction, as the "bones" in their tail are made of cartilage rather than actual bone. Their legs are double-jointed like a horse's or a dog's, which allows them to run faster and jump higher. Their bodies are built for climbing trees and rocks, as this was how their ancestors escaped their predators and ambushed their prey. They have a long snout which resembles a cross between an alligator's and a gecko's, with forward-facing eyes and ears that resemble a fox's (though without the fur) on the side of their head. These ears allow the Merak to hear 360 degrees around them, but also are the instrument for a sixth sense, one where the Merak are able to "feel" a being's natural electricity, much like some sharks are able to. This sense is muffled by helmets and when there is a large amount of electricity in the air, however. Their scales are generally a maroon color, though they may also be orange, brown, or black.
~~Planets~~
These are the planets in the Future War universe. Ceretella, Travidia, and Earth are the main members of the Coalition formed after the Great War.
Ceretella:
Before the Great War, Ceretella had fought on Travidia's side, but with Earth as well. When Travidia suddenly turned on them, they fought back along with Earth. After defeating Travidia with Earth's help, they eventually came back to good terms with Travidia, and formed the Coalition. Ceretella is a typically peaceful planet that has a legendary space fleet as well as the Zanarmina. Filled with lush forests and thriving oceans, Ceretellan civil engineers have always been ahead of the pack on being environmentally thoughtful, and the whole planet is a brilliant combination of high density urban metropolises with Ceretella's predominant life-form the chufi living in them, as well as beautiful scenery. Ceretella doesn't have the best ground forces and tries to stay out of ground battles, however.
Travidia:
The planet that faced Earth and Ceretella in the Great War but succumbed after significantly losing has partially rebuilt in the years after and are back on the way to be a major power once again. Travidia has a diverse ecosystem, with jungles being the most inhabited by the predominant life-form on Travidia, the serci. The serci have developed a rather unique way of living in jungles. They build layers going up that span the lengths of entire forests, leading to a feeling that you're a part of the jungle itself. A key player in the Great War, Travidia developed highly advanced weaponry and are one of the most feared forces on land and in space in the galaxy.
Zinitia:
Named for its abundance of the tactical mineral zinitite, this is Ceretella's number one supplier of almost all minerals, Many volcanoes on the planet have allowed various minerals to form but there is a significant lack of any life here. Life is slow and dull here, with dust storms and the occasional eruption being the only exciting events.
Earth:
Earth was allies with Ceretella in the Great War, and is part of the Coalition today. They are extremely wealthy and have connections in the deepest pits of the galaxy (no, not black holes, that was figurative language).
And you know the rest.
Catorce:
Almost completely covered in water, Catorce isn't the most powerful planet. However, during the Great War, Catorce was ravaged of resources and population, and although they didn't show it at the time, Catorce was mad. It has been revealed that they've been amassing huge amounts of resources, pirating powerful ships, and building a huge army. Through it's underworld connections, particularly with Snarvaria, Catorce hopes to right how it was wronged more than a century ago.
Meyra:
The Merak homeworld used to be a lush, green world, but was damaged beyond repair in the War against the aliens that attacked the Merak long ago. The planet is geologically unstable now due to drilling close to the core, and the majority of the planet is barren and lifeless with lava flows and ash predominating. The only settlement on the planet is a massive city near the equator, which is surrounded in a climate-control bubble to keep the heat out. The Merak are determined to continue to live on their homeworld despite its decline. Security measures in this system are extensive and typically outsiders are not allowed in at all. The solar system containing Meyra is the Utalus system, which is extensively colonized by the Merak. The other civilized planets in the system are Arrida, Jarth, and Kygoza. Arrida is a desert world known for its rich mineral deposits, Jarth is covered in a planet-wide city which is the main home for the Merak, and Kygoza is known for extensive shipyards and military bases, where the main research and military training takes place.
Kartarza:
An immense planet that is Travidia's number one supplier of almost all resources except locally sourced ones and even has its own life. jejikans are the predominant intelligent life on Kartarza. They are very tall, averaging around 9ft, and usually a shade of grey. Generally jejikans aren't terribly sharp, so Travidia defends them in return for what's practically 'slavery with benefits'. They work for Travidia, they get a better life than if they didn't. Many of the smarter jejikans are put in to service as strategizers and such. The planet is full of life, with the only jejikan interference being mainly underground.
Demwaki:
In the Great War, Demwaki was Travidia's base of operations. Kept out of the public eye and occasionally misplaced, Demwaki was an elusive planet. Formerly, Travidia's top minds would work here to assist Travidia's fight, but after the Great War, the entire Coalition moved their operations here. It's a beautiful planet if you can get there (vacations are incredibly expensive here for a reason), but very few people do.
Somulus:
Ceretella's base of operations during the Great War. It's similar to Demwaki, except quite a lot larger and also has a ring system. Not much happened here, it was relatively quiet. Now that the Great War is over and Ceretella's operations were moved to Demwaki, it's a place of people building a new community with good intentions in mind,
Ionia:
In the Great War, Ionia was a mercenary planet. They fought for whoever payed more- usually. Not known to be trustworthy, Ionia was a bit like strategic gambling. Pay a pretty penny and they'd probably fight with you; it wasn't that easy. Following the war and Travidia's follies, Ionia has grown silent.
Snarvaria:
A frosted over planet in a somewhat permanent ice age. The taiga forests that are all over the planet provide havens for many bizarre life forms. The rest of the planet is frozen over oceans and tundra plains. They are Catorce's main ally due to their 'realization' of how wrong it was to steal Catorce's population like the planets did (they probably got payed a lot). Snarvaria is the source of a lot of back door, shady business-doing, and lots of action takes place there.
Huliotyop:
A trading planet, kind of like Star War’s Tatooine, except it is a forested planet. Most of it is jungle, with two oceans. It is a major trading post, where the poorer citizens of the galaxy live and the scum of the galaxy go to be. It got the worse end of the planetary forming process, and doesn't have any notable features. The planet, despite its low status, is a driving force of local economy.
Epsilon Eridani IV:
A planet located in the Epsilon Eridani system, it's around ten and a half light years from Earth and has a mass around one and a half times that of Jupiter. It's pretty ginormous. the Shadows have turned this planet into their base of operations due to the rich mineral deposits on the planet and in the nearby asteroids, but try to stay out of the way. Many a mining corps have set up camp here, particularly Codfish Mining Corps. and Canary Mining Corps. They spar quite frequently.
Vastarus Beta:
The Vastarans used to inhabit this formerly lush, fertile, world before practically the entire galaxy was devoured by a super-massive black hole, arm after spiral arm. Their empire was almost completely eradicated. With no power to stop the destruction, the Vastarans used whatever resources they could and mustered an 'ark' of sorts to save their race and countless other beings. Christened the Ultimo Vitae, this ark was fifty years later renamed the Unicus Machina. The great ship stored over 2,000,000 organic codes, as well as 2 billion Vastarans. The warfaring species did not, however, neglect the needs of a fighting force, and brought specialized weaponry and warships.
Lavindrica:
Lavindrica is shrouded in clouds- literally, you can't see the planet because of extensive cloud cover. The surface appears to be completely desert, but the underground is filled with plants and minerals. The kalkus, the predominant race on Lavindrica, have learned how to use the obsidian as armor, and put krakenite plating over the obsidian that is very hard to pierce, at least without kalkus tech that you can use. Krakenite develops from crystals being placed next to the core, which the kalkus can go to due to being cold-blooded and able to withstand up to 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit. They can also be in up to 1,000 below 0 temperatures. No one knows about this planet, except it's inhabitants, the kalkus.
Agilitas:
In the early days of human spaceflight an expedition they came upon the Aquila, a pre-spaceflight species dying from a plague. By use of their advanced technology the human expedition was able to cure the plague, saving the species from extinction. The leaders and scientist of the expedition became near messianic figures, and technology the new religion. Shortly into the expedition contact was "lost" and the Earth government assumed them KIA. It wasn't until hundreds of years later that a new expedition was sent, and by that time the Aglitan Empire was set in stone. The Empire is an absolute monarchy based around the descendants of the leaders of the expedition.
The Aglitan Empire is composed of approximately ninety five percent aquilans and five percent humans. A side affect that came from the plague cure was an increase in the birth rate, which drastically increased the population. Because of the abundant population the Aglitan military never has a shortage of troops, and if need be is capable of drowning their enemies is a sea of their own soldiers. The official state religion is based around technology, with the royal family seen as avatars of the machine gods.
Yuvian:
Yuvian is a deserty planet, and the origin planet of the Taier. It along with two other planets in its system harbored intelligent life... until the Taier wiped them out/enslaved them. The planet itself is about 1.2 times Earth's mass, but in 4161, they're not really going by that system anymore. Hopefully. It doesn't sustain much life, but once life is going, it's hard to get rid of it. The Taier are the only truly adapted life to Yuvian's environment (which can get up to 220F during the day). Their slender, featureless bodies don't use up many resources. Yuvian is a relatively unkown planet, in fact, the entire system isn't very known. It's out of the way quite a lot, giving the Taier time to perfect they're frightening, cunning ways.
Taranova:
The capital planet of the Veritan empire. Its name is derived from a corruption of the words "Terra Nova," meaning "New Earth". This is an apt comparison, as the planet has many varied locales with a generally temperate climate, much like Earth. The average temperature is somewhat lower than on Earth, owing to the planet's smaller size and distance from the sun. The majority of the planet is covered in oceans, while 50% of the landmass is equivalent to taigas, or boreal forests, back on Earth. The biggest city is named Pallas, a Veritan word which means platinum. The city is the home of both the VSN headquarters and the palace of the Emperor. The world is fairly pristine in its natural resources and beauty because the Veritans conduct most of their mining and resource gathering in space, throughout the many asteroid belts surrounding the Oversoul.
~~Infantry~~
Infantry are used to select where your person fits in to the war. Generals can select large amounts of these forces, and outfit them with planet specific weaponry. You can choose what weapons they use, provided you count the default weapon and that it mostly fits their description.
Heavy-weapon forces:
Infantry that is sturdy and heavily trained to endure a lot and take a beating. They carry weapons meant to pound vehicles and large amounts of infantry into submission.
Rocket forces:
Soldiers that are best trained to use rocketry and other propelled explosive weapons. They are good for taking on base defenses.
Marksmen:
A marksman that can cloak itself using sensors and has a ssniper rifle with a laser targeter.
Shadows:
Augmented special forces soldier mainly used for high risk combat or stealth operations. During the Great War they split from Earth's forces. They vanished after the end of the war. Each Shadow is equipped with a firearm of their choosing, Live Suit armor and have a neural interface, a device that has not been widely used in Earths armed forces since the year 2600.
Shadow infantry:
The standard Shadow infantry they carry a variety of weapons and wear standard body armor.
Combat engineer:
Works with a wide variety of weapons and gadgets, but typically outfitted with lighter weaponry.. Very skillful killers. Most favored weapon is a plasma hyperblaster because of it's reliability, range, and damage.
On-field engineer:
This type of soldier usually carries light arms, thus depending on the support of the other soldiers to keep him alive. He deploys stuff like anti vehicle turrets, anti aircraft turrets, and anti artillery turrets.
Infiltrator:
Infiltrators use high tech gadgets to 'hack' in to the genetic structure of an enemy and mimic their looks at least temporarily (time depends on amount of energy available). Looking like the enemy, they can pretend to be one and find out valuable information this way.
Commando:
Commandos have been cybernetically and genetically enhanced to improve their strength, reaction time, and endurance. Designed to operate as either a one man army or as part of a team of three, commandos have been given extensive training in all weapons and most major vehicles. While their existence and many of their deeds are known to the public, the training program to create commandos is not due to the sheer brutality of it. Only a small percentage of those who apply to the program make it through. Commandos are often used to wreck mass damage behind enemy lines, or to lead frontal assaults.
Cyborgs:
Cyborgs are soldiers who have gone through extensive cybernetic treatment and mechanical therapy. They're much bulkier than average humans, being around 7 feet tall. The brain is replaced by the cyborg's computer allowing much more flexibility than other drones. Cyborgs are usually spawned from severe stroke victims. Cyborgs are vulnerable to electric attacks of any sort.
Rangers:
Quick, reactive, and stealthy forces made for close combat and small missions. Their skill is unquestionable despite their usually second-rate missions.
Scouts:
Scouts are lightly armored and lightly armed, typically outfitted to find out more about the land that will be fought on.
Shock Troopers (Aglitan only):
Special medium infantry. Due to the light gravity, abundance of ship to ship combat, and the piracy in Aglitan space, a force that could quickly relocate and bring overwhelming, precise firepower was needed. Shock Troopers are all volunteers and expert marksmen. They are trained extensively in ship to ship combat, along with different forms of aerial assault and guerrilla warfare. They do not waste their shots, never knowing when resupply will become available.
S.H.A.D.E. Soldiers (SHADES Only):
Revered with fear and distinguished by their valor, S.H.A.D.E.S. are the elite Vastaran fighting force, broken into 16 Cohorts of 4,000. S.H.A.D.E. literally stands for 'Spearhead Assault, Division, and Extermination'. Their purpose is alarmingly clear, but their status is almost mythical, and their prowess in the art of war is second to none. Armed with the deadliest technological weapons and gear, they scour the galaxy unseen, appearing only to deliver death in whatever form it may take. Only their victims have seen them, and forever mute they keep their secrets. Well equipped, strategic, powerful, and wraithlike, they are a faceless and terrible threat.
Esurientis (Vastarans only):
The Esurientis are professional glory hounds, and is rather an honorific title attached to an actual rank. Considered champions in their own right, they are exceptionally ferocious and deadly in combat, and capable of even giving the near-mythical SHADES a run of their money. Many use deadly weapons and equipment that aren't SHADE-specific, and are highly-skilled in their application. Esurientis are obsessed with gaining honor and glory to a degree considered almost insane by Vastaran regulars and prioritize obtaining it over their own lives, though they are aware that if you're dead, you can't gain glory; they aren't professional soldiers for no reason. However, they are incredibly rare; there is approximately only 3100 confirmed Esurientis still alive. But if one does show up on the battlefield, devastation quickly follows the warrior's wake, and they are capable of laying waste to entire squads by themselves.
Black Hand Operative (Aglitan only):
The covert elite spies of the Aglitan Empire, the Black Hand has few members. Each member has a series of augmentations. The first, and most major, is a series of different types of nanobots. These nanobots permit Black Hand operatives to completely restructure parts of their bodies, like their skin and face. It also allows Black Hand operatives to recover from all but the most grievous wounds, and operatives can remain dead for days on end before being revived. Unfortunately anesthesia interferes with successful operation of the nanobots, rendering any major action with them extremely painful. Other augmentations allow operatives to fire a small EMP burst, unleash lethal amounts of electricity through physical contact, and perform inhuman acts of athletics. The Black Hand tries to avoid direct combat, as billions of credits worth of technology can be rendered inert with a single unlucky headshot.
Merak Crusader (MPC only):
The name of "Crusader" has always been synonymus with "hero" in Merak culture, being the name that the revolutionaries took in the War, but these guys take it up a notch. Taking a cue from their near extinction during the War, Crusaders were created to be most elite, most powerful, and most versatile infantry ever seen in Merak history. They come pretty dang close to what their creators intended. Crusaders are selected by use of an algorithm designed to find the Merak children most likely to be excellent warriors and tacticians based on their interaction with other Merak. From this point, those Merak are closely monitored by the MPC and tracked until they reach the age of 25, around 13 in human years. At this point they are given a test, presented to them as a real situation- something like their house getting broken into or a fake mugging. If they perform well during this test, they are taken to a top-secret facility to begin training. Their training is brutal and lasts until age 50, around 25 in human years. At this point, they have been conditioned to be the perfect soldier. They have knowledge of all areas of warfare, have tactics drilled into their instincts, and are lethal and brutally efficient. At this point they are given their armor and a neural uplink, and taught how to use both for another two years until they are essentially extensions of their bodies. At this point, the Crusader is assigned to a team and is ready to defend the Merak from any and all threats.
Angels (Aylin's Soldiers):
The result of what happens when you let a former Shadow select recruits and give her total control over their training regime. The Angels are a highly elite drop shock assault unit organized and commanded in Shadow fashion. Every member was personally handpicked by Aylin which has led to them being highly loyal; especially considering most of them were about to be kicked out for low training scores before she got them. Their main MO is usually to drop onto smaller objectives in teams before linking up as a unit to destroy the larger objective from all sides. The unit has a surprisingly low casualty rate despite the nature of their missions. The reason for this is also why they refuse to let any medical personnel besides their own work on them. Aylin modified her soldiers to give them a slight edge, the ‘upgrades’ aren’t anything major but they are illegal due to their untested nature.
Stormtroopers (Veritans Only):
With a name carrying over from the ancient days of the conquest of Taranova, the Stormtroopers have evolved into a police-gendarmerie force. Stormtroopers are tasked with maintaining order throughout the cities. They are employed when a traditional police force is not enough to handle the situation. The Stormtrooper Corps handles counter-terrorism, riot police, and SWAT duties in ordinary times, but in some circumstances they may assume control of entire cities and military forces. Whenever there is a time of chaos, such as the death of a ruler, Stormtroopers spring into action and secure the cities to prevent riots and damage. In times of war and under immediate threat of attack, it is the Stormtroopers who defend the cities and evacuate the populace. Stormtroopers are seldom criticized for their work, as there have been numerous incidents where only firm Stormtrooper action kept the Empire from falling apart. They specialize in riot control, urban defense, guard details, and counter-terrorism insertions.
Champions (Veritans Only):
The Champion Corps consists of the most elite Veritan forces, pulled from all branches. The Champions are selected personally by the Emperor and only shown to after recieving a commendation for skill or for bravery. The Champions are then taken to a top secret location on an uncolonized world where they train to become the most elite special forces branch in the VPA. The Champions are particularly skilled in high-pressure environments as a result of their selection process, on top of their skill in unusual missions. Champions handle extreme circumstances and in missions where failure is not an option. Usually this involves assassination, disarming of WMDs, and other equally high-value missions. Champions are not physically modified in any way, as this is considered blasphemy by the Veritans, but they are outfitted with the latest and best of equipment.
Dragoons (Veritans Only):
Dragoons are a semi-special forces troop, dedicated to reconnaissance, light assault, fast attacks, guerilla fighting, and surgical strikes on important objectives. The Dragoons are hard to nail down as a unit because of their varied roles. Dragoons are semi-elite forces who specialize in quick movement. They tend to be the first ones into a fight and sometimes substitute for traditional scouts. Dragoons are trained to act between armies as a highly mobile force that is used to free other units from tight spots and assist in any way possible. Dragoons are also specialized in hand-to-hand combat and boarding action, which makes them the go-to unit for ship-to-ship combat. Dragoons tend to use close-range weaponry in addition to their vehicles, typically either PSTs for space duties or J7 Martel Assault Bikes, designed specifically for Dragoon and Scout units.
~~Weapons~~
These weapons make up what is used by the fighting forces of Future War. You can select 2-4 of these to be the weapons your character uses most in Future War.
Laser blaster:
Standard issue laser blaster. Highly customizable and rugged, the laser blaster is the staple gun of most infantry on any side of the war.
Laser pistol:
Standard issue sidearm. Fast reload and sufficient damage, the laser pistol can be found almost anywhere in the galaxy.
Silenced plasma pistol:
Used mostly by scouts and specialists, the silenced plasma pistol is an effective close quarters weapon that can fire short bursts of plasma.
Platone bullets:
Can be loaded into any gun. The bullets break down upon entering the body and releases platone which breaks down cells in the body, killing the person in barely 10 seconds. Due to development cost, these are quite rare.
Tripod machine gun:
A pack carried on the chest that easily unfolds into a mini turret.
Machine pistol:
A rapid fire portable hand-held gun.
Ssniper rifle:
An average ssniper rifle, used mostly by marksmen and specialists.
Rocket launcher:
An automatic heat locking rocket launcher with a wide range of ammunition.
SHMP shotgun:
A small shotgun built for close quarters fighting. It has a ten shot capacity and will fire as quickly as you pull the trigger.
Plasma hyperblaster:
The plasma hyperblaster is a powerful semi-automatic weapon used by assault forces of all planets.
Plasma hyperrifle:
A rifle that is slightly more powerful than a ssniper rifle but not as accurate. It is much lighter as well.
Energy grenade:
A grenade that latches on to the first thing it touches and explodes with a great blast of energy, obliterating most things in a 2 foot radius.
SLR-47:
The SLR-47 is a highly specialized laser rifle designed for top marksmen. It is extremely powerful up to about 500 meters. It can fire around 200 times before needing a new power cell.
Electro-Proton Rifle:
Utilizing cathode technology, this relatively simple weapon projects a beam of protons as a path for a high-powered static charge to follow. In other words, it's a lightning gun, and is most effective against personnel and can severely damage electronics.
Monofilament Lash:
A violently effective tool turned weapon, the monofilament lash is a carbon nanofiber line barely more than a molecule thick. Energized with a powerful ion current, it suddenly becomes a dangerous of almost pure energy that can cut with effortless ease through most substances. A very rare weapon, it is only used in the hands of masters, as it can potentially cut through everything near it, including the user.
Microwave Emitter:
Another simple but brutally effective weapon, this is a weapon that comes in a variety of forms, the most common being no bigger than an SMG. Firing a beam of concentrated microwaves, it can pass through most materials while causing severe internal injuries. While not usually a weapon that can immediately kill, it is incredibly painful to the target, and very energy efficient.
Microwave Pulse Grenade:
An area of effect weapon that uses the same tech as it's precise counterpart, it releases a burst of microwave radiation that can short circuit electronics and is immediately deadly to those in a 5 yard radius.
Neutronian Anti-Weapon:
This weapon is specifically designed to destroy heavily armored targets. Using a 20mm neutronian Warhead, it tracks its target using electromagnetic signatures. It almost never misses it's target because of this, and can reduce a tank to the size of a tin can.
Ash Thrower:
As it's name suggests, it is similar to a flame-thrower in concept. However, instead of spitting fire, it belches a composite mixture similar to volcanic ash, and can turn a man to ash at a distance of 70 yards. It's calling card is the statues of calcified bodies frozen in contorted expressions of pain.
Petrifying Anti-Personnel Grenade:
This weapon releases a gaseous cloud of calcium and sodium. Life-forms that inhale this mixture suffocate at a molecular level and would turn to stone if left for about a week.
Isotope Accelerator Ray:
The Isotope Accelerator Ray, or IAR, uses multiple beams of radiation to dramatically increase the target's rate of molecular decay. Used mostly against vehicles, it can cut through armored hulls with ease; used against personnel, it leaves a foul, jellied mess.
Neutronian Munitions:
All neutronian tech uses these. They're difficult to produce but worth it. Robots collected high-density neutron star matter, which is formed into spheres and coated with mercury or cesium to prevent immediate decay.
Electro-Proton Rifle:
Utilizing cathode technology, this relatively simple weapon projects a beam of protons as a path for a high-powered static charge to follow. In other words, it's a lightning gun, and is most effective against personnel and can severely damage electronics.
Monofilament Lash:

Isotope Accelerator Ray:
The Isotope Accelerator Ray, or IAR, uses multiple beams of radiation to dramatically increase the target's rate of molecular decay. Used mostly against vehicles, it can cut through armored hulls with ease; used against personnel, it leaves a foul, jellied mess.
Laser Carbine:
A small rifle designed for urban combat, the laser carbine sacrifices range for a smaller size. However, both power and accuracy have been increased. In the default semi-automatic mode a small explosion is created that is capable of severing limbs with ease. In beam mode the carbine is capable of firing for several seconds, and can cut though most most light and medium armor.
FACTION SPECIFIC WEAPONRY
Some weapons were developed by specific factions to give them an upper hand, an ace up the sleeve if you will, as opposed to the typical weaponry used across the board.
Tensor-neutronian Matter Carbine (TNMR)(S.H.A.D.E.S. only):
A high-power, semi automatic weapon. Utilizing electromagnetic fields, it fires 6mm Neutron rounds, with a 50 round vacuum clip. Upon impact the round decays almost instantaneously causing massive damage to armored or unarmored targets.
S7-G5 (Shadows only):
A standard select fire assault rifle with a 30 round standard clip. This is the primary weapon of the Shadows infantry. The silenced version is the primary weapon of the Shadows.
X5-Q7 blaster (Coalition Forces only):
The X5-Q7 is the result of a lot of R&D from Earth looking to develop a practical, low cost, average gun. Much of the Coalition forces are outfitted with this hardy weapon.
MSG Rocket launcher (Coalition Forces only):
Travidia developed the MSG in the mid 3000s. It's a simple, practical rocket launcher without any real enhancements, other than it's ease of reload and simplicity.
Automatic Gauss Cannon (Aglitan only):
The gauss cannon is an extremely powerful weapon. Excelling in almost all roles, the gauss cannon is capable of destroying aircraft, tanks, and infantry with ease. The gauss cannon operates by shaving small pieces of metal from an ammo block and then accelerating it through a series of coils. The power and the speed at which the weapon is fired can be varied for different roles, it great versatility. The great disadvantage of the Gauss Cannon are the logistics surrounding it. In terms of resources, the Gauss Cannon takes almost as much to make as the main weapon of a destroyer. In addition, the coils are rapidly worn out, and while they are easy to replace, the replacements are bulky, limiting their use on the battlefield. The Cannon is barely past prototype testing and its use is relegated to elite forces.
Inferno Rifle (Aglitan only):
With recent threats to the Aglitan Empire, the need for a mass produced infantry weapon capable of taking on heavy infantry was recognized. Designed to meet this role, the Inferno rifle is a single shot carbine that launches a bolt of plasma. This bolt hold together upon hitting a solid object, giving it immense armor piercing abilities, but limiting its collateral damage.
NANTs (Nano Assisted Narite Turrets, ARP only):
Auto-turrets that fire Narite rounds, a somewhat old piece of Achi weaponry that was made out of a combination of iron and nanite technology.
Dual Hydras (ARP only):
Dual machine pistols that generate superheated plasma and use mini-gravity generators to fire it at high velocities.
Assault Hydra (ARP only):
A assault rifle version of the Hydra (singular version of the Dual Hydras).
Lyon Rifle (ARP only):
A battle rifle that uses mini gravity generators to fire superheated plasma. The first weapon to use mini-gravity generators, invented by Darwin Lyon.
Lyvah Ssniper (ARP only):
A ssniper that fires superheated plasma, but not with mini grav generators.
MGR-33 (Myrkium Gauss Rifle)(MPC only):
The MGR-33 is a staple of Merak forces. The gun is made to fire small chips of titanium which are loaded into the gun and accelerate them to incredible speeds by sliding them along Myrkium rails, which are frictionless and don't take damage from the forces involved. The result is a projectile weapon that causes a large amount of kinetic damage to the target and is able to break through most kinds of armor. Unfortunately, the titanium bullets are usually vaporized or damaged by shield systems. In addition, the MGR-33 is incredibly modular and almost every part of the weapon can be customized for individual missions, including the stock, barrel, scope, grips, and attachments. 64-shot clip, firing modes Semi-Auto and Full Auto with a firing rate of 1.5 shots per second.
Nano-Launcher (MPC only):
The Nano-Launcher is an anti-tank weapon designed to ignore shields and disable key systems by firing a shell filled with nanobots. The shell pierces shields and penetrates the outer armor of the target before disintegrating and releasing the nanobots, which multiply and destroy wiring and computer systems. After the vehicle is completely disabled, the nanobots detonate themselves to destroy the vehicle. Because the shell fired is not homing, the Nano-Launcher is best used against slow-moving or stationary targets.
Ceremonial Sword (Veritan):
All Veritan infantry carry ceremonial swords as a tradition. They are produced in factories and assigned to each soldier. Each blade is double-edged, with a plain crossguard and a leather-wrapped hilt. The blade is made of a tungsten-titanium alloy that allows it to cut through most standard armor with ease, which allows it to be used as a functional weapon in close quarters. Generally a fairly simple blade.
SOLR Rifle(Veritan Only):
The main weapon of Veritan personnel. It is lower tech than the typical laser rifle, which means that it is more unstable and overheats easily. As a bizarre side effect of the imperfection of the rifle, the laser fired is actually more powerful than the regular variant because it gathers electrons as it moves, creating an electrified bolt around it. This bolt dissipates almost immediately, but the effect is that the rifle delivers both a laser shot and an electric jolt to the target, increasing damage output especially on electric systems. The rifle is a "bullpup" design in which the action is behind the trigger group and the magazine, in this case a gas cartridge allowing for 64 shots, is behind the trigger. As a result, the weapon is much shorter than a traditional rifle and easier to use in confined spaces but with the downside of increased recoil. The rifle is cheaper to produce but is more prone to accidents (such as overheating, power cell failure, and misfires) than the laser rifle. The power cell works for 300 shots before a recharge is needed.
LUNR Carbine (Veritan Only):
This is the rifle used by more elite Veritan forces. It is weaker than the SOLR rifle but much more stable and accurate. This rifle is similar to the SOLR except that the laser-focusing was improved so that the laser doesn't gather loose electrons and realign them. This removes the extra damage but dramatically improves the lifespan of the rifle and makes sure the gun works correctly 100% of the time instead of 98%. As a side effect of the refocusing, the laser is more accurate and has a longer range. The weapon has a full-auto mode but is generally kept in semi-auto to take advantage of the increased accuracy.
~~Artillery~~
Possibly not the most important part of Future War, but a useful one nonetheless. When outfitting ships with special artillery, this is what you need to use.
Magnetic accelerator cannon (Shadows only):
The magnetic accelerator cannon is one of the most powerful weapons in the Shadows arsenal. It is made specifically to pierce shields and cause damage. The operation principle of a Magnetic Accelerator Cannon is the same as that of a coil gun. The cannon fires a massive metal projectile using a linear system of magnetic fields coils down a long shaft, increasing the projectile's velocity until it carries an incredible amount of kinetic energy. The cannon fires ferric tungsten rounds at around 12,000 kilometers per second and it uses a dedicated targeting computer for accuracy but can be manually fired which takes longer. It fires using electromagnetism to fire the slug at high velocity and an extremely large amount of current is put through the first solenoid or the coil of conducting wire, which creates a strong magnetic field that attracts the metal slug. As the slug passes into the solenoid, the solenoid is quickly turned off and the second solenoid, which is further up, turns on, which attracts the now high velocity metal slug just like the first solenoid, and the process, is carried on. By the time the slug is fired out the end of the barrel it has been accelerated to a speed of around 12,000 kilometers per second it takes around 5 minutes to recharge and reload the gun.
Electromagnetic Neutronian Matter Artillery Cannons (ENMAC) (Vastara only):
The standard artillery device of the Vastaran force, they are powerful and mobile, but are slowly being phased out by faster and more effective machinery. They come in several different calibers, but all fire the specialized Vastaran Neutron Matter rounds, which are extremely devastating to structure, ship, or personnel. These specialized cannons have a moderate rate of fire, and are generally mounted on armored, robotic treads for traversing rough terrain quickly on alien worlds. These cannons also have a ridiculously long range, and while the shell is more powerful at regular distances, many similarly sized rounds can't even come close to the Neutronian round's range, let alone compete with the damage.
Excalibur (Aglitan only):
Excalibur is a new prototype weapon system being developed by the Aglitan Empire. Excalibur is meant to end any major attack on the Aglitan core worlds, and requires authorization by the Emperor to be used, due to the immense cost involved in firing. The basic principle behind it dates back to the Orion Project millennia ago. A payload, either a drone or a series of slugs, is placed in the firing chamber. Then, a series of carefully controlled nuclear detonations is used to propel the payload to near lightspeed. The detonation heavily damages the firing barrels, requiring it to be repaired before reuse. The drone that is to be fired is almost a self contained warship. It has its own drive, and numerous point defenses. However, upon nearing its target, it separates. Thousands of missile detach and head towards predesignated targets, while other drones provide point defense and ECM to cover the missiles. The much shorter range option is to fire slugs. Upon firing, millions of slugs, of unknown metallic properties, are fired at a target, acting much like an upscaled shotgun. Upon impact, these slugs disintegrate, transferring nearly all their kinetic energy to a target. The location of Excalibur is unknown, but is rumored to be on one of the moons inside core Aglitan space. The recoil produced by firing requires it to be placed on a planetoid, and the range is limited to within the core worlds of the Empire, relegating it as a purely defensive weapon.
Beam cannon:
A particle cannon that fires a highly powerful concentrated ray of energy, thus upgrading it to be called a beam cannon. A large solar battery is used to power it. Rarely is it loaded into a specialized port on a capital ship to fire at nearby enemy ships, but because it requires a large amount of power and all the ships energy has to be channeled to the beam cannon to fire it for about 30 seconds, which renders the ship vulnerable.
Anti-air guns:
High power laser guns that fire multiple rounds per minute with spotlights. They fire like the AA guns from World War II, just with lasers instead of bullets.
Scythe beam (Veritan only):
the Scythe beam is essentially a fusion reactor with one side left open. It runs off of much the same principles that govern stars, involving slamming hydrogen molecules together until they combine. The reaction produces massive amounts of heat and light energy which are channeled into a beam of energy (using magnetic fields) to be fired at an enemy ship. Being hit with the beam would be like bathing your ship in a supernova. Fortunately for said enemies, the beam is not able to be sustained for very long.
Archer Anti-Ship Missile:
Much like the rest of Veritan tech, this weapon is crude but effective. The missile is an evolution of modern cruise missiles, able to pierce through ship armor and ignore shields because it is a physical projectile. Some variants of this missile deploy an EMP prior to impact.
~~Vehicles~~
FLAGSHIPS
These are the most powerful and most feared ships of each faction in the war. Piloted with pride and revered throughout the galaxy, these ships make a name for themselves by being the head of the fleet.
Unicus Machina:
The Unicus Machina was the machine that saved the Vastaran race and countless other species from destruction. That doesn't however mean that it's a defenseless vessel. The Unicus Machina, or One Machine, has a diameter of 4,466 miles, a couple hundred miles larger than Mars, with an outer hull six miles thick made of dioridium, metal that is both 1000x stronger than diamond while being as malleable, conductive, and elastic as steel. Producing such a material requires vast resources, and many S.H.A.D.E. Battle Cruisers were cannibalized to speed up the construction process while their galactic empire was consumed.
The Cutting Edge:
The Taierian flagship. The Cutting Edge is sleek and dark, with long red lines accenting it. Built with design in mind, for whatever reason, but still sufficiently armed. Most of the turrets are on the top and bottom, allowing total mobility of the weapons, actually something smart on the Tiaer's part. The ship is mainly reserved for the high-up in Yuvian's government and military, but they also have state-of-the-art psychological torture chambers. Yes, state-of-the-art. It does have a WMD on it, a proton cannon that's been... amplified, a little.
Firefly:
The previous flagship of the Ceretellan army, the Firefly was made in 4050, making it relatively old. It's been retrofitted a number of times, and even ignoring those retrofittings, it's a very powerful cruiser. It doesn't have the ability to cloak, but it has the Coalition's top tier warpdrives, as well as an ICVL.
Zanarmina:
The current flagship of Ceretellan forces. Sleeker, larger, and more powerful than the Firefly (and now with cloaking), the Zanarmina is the crown jewel of Ceretella's epic space force. It has two ICVLs, which drain most of the power of the ship when used in tandem. Most of its other arms are laser turrets and plasma cannons. Its hangar is quite spacious, especially compared to the Firefly's.
Serenity:
A new prototype ship, the Serenity is a state of the art 'Pocket' dreadnaught. The Serenity has two defining features. The first is its main gun, a powerful energy projector capable of firing either a stream of plasma or a single burst, which impacts with the force of a nuclear weapon. The second is it's armor, or rather lack of it. The Serenity forgoes conventional armored plating, instead relying on powerful shields and a unique layered construction, which allows it to take a shot without compromising the superstructure. This allows the Serenity the maneuverability and speed of a much smaller ship without sacrificing any firepower. The Serenity also host an array of plasma carronades, a deadly close range weapon made even deadlier by the ability of the Serenity to quickly get into knife fight range. Due to the high cost only one of these ships has been built, with more being hold of due to budget cuts.
Mark VI Battle Cruiser:
the main space battle ship of Earth's forces this ship is outfitted with cannons and turrets commanders have been known to modify these ships for their own uses it has a hangar for ships to be launched from they have a passenger capacity of 10000 soldiers, and is manned by a crew of 200. It has medium armor, relying mostly on its advanced force fields in battle.
Valhalla G:
Basically a Valhalla that has been upgraded for combat. It has cannons and turrets added, a hanger implanted, and other improvements. It is the replacement for the Valhalla and it was designed by the Shadows.
SSS:
The largest space port for 100s of lightyears around, the SSS, or Space Station Superior, is the Coalition's (and others) go to hub of activity. With room for hundreds of command ships and countless fighters and soldiers, the SSS is an incredible feat of Coalition engineering.
Everest Class Dreadnaught:
Massive starship build around a giant magnetic accelerator, which accelerates a 100 kilogram ferrous slug to 75% of light speed, impacting with a force of a 100 kiloton bomb, and fires every 30 seconds. Secondary weapons consist of Guardian lasers, which have a range of only 50 km before they start to dissipate and lose energy, so they are used to defend against missiles and fighters. Because the ship is built around the Magnetic accelerator, it must physically move to target something if it moves beyond a few degrees of the Accelerators firing lane, so it is vulnerable once a ship closes in. It is slow compared to most other ships, and requires a large number of support ships to keep from being overwhelmed. It can carry about 1,000 ground troops and their equipment.
Kalenitus Mecharus:
The flagship of Lavindrica, which has krakenite armor twenty inches thick. It has twin fusion reactors and uses quadruple engines that run on energy to propel it. It has a hyper thruster capable of extreme gravitational acceleration, and has six krekinium launchers that shoot krakenite missiles that pierce armor very easily but shields slow them down enough so that they just explode crystals that are highly explosive at armor that make them detonate and do pretty much nothing. If they get past the armor, the crystals can heavily damage systems and impale armor and explode into the wearer's flesh. It has four lasers that either alternate in burst of three lasers or shoot a continuous laser. The lasers are focused by the crystals that are the harmless equivalent to the high explosive crystals.
VSN Farrigan:
Named after the first Veritan Emperor, the Farrigan is the older of the two Veritan flagships. It is the second-largest ship in the Veritan fleet, and bristles with weaponry of all kinds and armor that could withstand a supernova. The Farrigan is now relegated to defense duty around the core worlds. The Farrigan features hundreds of laser batteries, two Scythe beams, and 12 silos for nuclear missiles as a last resort weapon.
VSN Churchill:
The newest of the two Veritan flagships, the Churchill is larger and slightly better at just about everything than its predecessor, which means it is the more active of the two ships, often leading the attack/advance fleet. It features the same armament as the Farrigan, but with more advanced targeting systems.
INFANTRY LEVEL VEHICLES
These vehicles are typically used by the fighting forces of the war. Generals can cherry pick these for their forces to use in battle.
AI Walker:
A walker that controls itself; AI stands for artificial intelligence.
S72 defense fighter:
A small spacecraft made to defend a planet in large quantities because of the simplicity of the design, making it cheap.
PTT:
The Coalition utilizes the strategic personal-troop-transport to move troops individually across the battlefield.
Valhalla:
A large spaceship with hyper thrusters that allow it to get places in the universe quickly. It is mainly a carrier ship, but can hold small hidden defenses. It is an obsolete model and few remain with Earth.
Falcon:
Originally intended to be an airplane, it ended up a submarine with the name Falcon. It's a powerful submarine designed to work under intense pressure.
Black nighthawk:
A bomber that uses cold fusion so heat seeker missiles can't get it, sensors that make it look invisible, and bombs strong enough to blow up a whole base.
LARC:
A product of Demwaki's intuitiveness, the LARC (Light attack rotor craft) is a small agile helicopter made for dogfights. It's surprisingly efficient.
LASP:
A spy plane that has a small Gatling gun on the nose for light attacks on infantry and such, but mostly built for spying on enemies.
CMP Dropship:
Small transporter used to stealthily drop small numbers of troops behind enemy lines it can carry 4 soldiers and their equipment.
SMP Dropship:
A dropship that can carry 16 soldiers and their weapons to the ground from space larger version of CMP Dropship except it has two turrets on the sides.
ATAV:
The all terrain attack vehicle is an incredibly versatile vehicle: It can go on water, underwater, air, up and down mountains, space, hover, and upside down and sideways. It's one of the most agile vehicles ever created, and favored by soldiers for it's efficiency and practicality.
SODS:
A cloaked drop ship used to drop 4-6 soldiers behind enemy lines and give light invisible support to troops on the ground.
LWDC:
A small vessel with no turrets or guns. It moves fast and is lightly armored. Carries up to 2 passengers and 7 drones which can be launched out and returned. The drones are stored in their launchers where nanobots will repair a drone if it is returned.
HWDC:
A large ship with one swiveling turret on top. It is heavily armored and moves slow with normal thrusters on. Carries up to 40 passengers and 140 drones that can be launched out and returned. The Drones are stored in their launchers where nanobots will repair a drone if it is returned.
Drone:
An AI ship about twice the size of a human head. It moves incredibly fast and has a central laser mounted in the center. Can fire small laser or attach itself to a larger ship and detonate. A broken drone can be returned to its pod and repaired by nanobots. They are, however, easily destroyed.
PST:
A vehicle three times the size of a chufi. It is all one part and is made to by piloted by one person. It has two small Plasma Hyper rifles attached on each side, refitted for space. It moves faster than any normal ship and is controlled by a joystick and screen inside. Made to slip past enemy fleets, board an enemy ship, or rain death from two miles up in the atmosphere of a planet. One laser blast to the central area of the ship and it breaks though.
SSC:
A small spaceport that can be used to carry up to 10 ships. It is armed with a short-range EMP cannon and two turrets on each side. Can carry up to 100 people plus what the ships inside can carry and is heavily armored. Good for skirmishes as it acts as a command ship for them.
NNF:
A ship that has two large semi-circles on the side that gives gravitational thrust. This causes nucleons in space to have their magnetic moment, thus having them collected on large magnets. They are turned into nuclear fuel, and then used as thrust. This ship can run forever without refueling, so it is used for exploration.
Eagle:
A medium class fighter. It is made to be used by one pilot. It is used for space combat. It can take a lot of damage. It has two laser machine guns on its wings that can rotate around to shoot behind it. It is medium speed due to the fact that it is reinforced to take damage.
Hamster ball:
A heavy fighter. It is shaped like a ball and can have up to seven gunners and one pilot. There are two guns on each side, one gun on the back, and two on the front. It flies slowly but with use of afterburners it can reach medium speed. It is very heavily armored and large. It is used for sentry duty in space it can fly forwards backwards and side to side.
Predator:
Light tank used to support infantry and special forces. The Predator is highly modular, allowing it to be fitted for a variety of roles. It can be fitted with a powerful main cannon, allowing it to act as frontline combat support, or a magnetically controlled plasma mortar, capable of being guided in with a laser designator. The Predator can also be suited for less conventional weaponry, such as an ECM suite, or a cloaking device that render's the tank invisible to anyone outside a 50 meter radius. It is operated by a single pilot, and can fit six people inside. The tank can easily be airdropped from a dropship, and can even be shot from space, when given the proper equipment.
SAFDS:
The standard attack force drop ship is a normal drop ship used to carry 8-10 soldiers. It is agile and armed lightly. It has two chain guns and a small laser cannon. It can make very quick turn arounds as it needs to get off the battlefield quickly after dropping soldiers.
PAF tank:
The Practical Attack Force tank is part of an Earth group called the PAF. They are well rounded and suitable for any mission. This is the tank used by the group. It is an average Earth tank with a bit more armor and a lot more fire power. It can also be converted into a mobile radar station or a bunk (beds are stored in the wall and can slide in or out.)
SI Jet fighter:
A standard issue Ceretellan jet fighter. Not much to be said about it, other than that it is only adapted for low altitude dogfights.
Mako:
Light vehicle that is armed with a heavy cannon, laser gun that rapidly disintegrates most light targets, and a plasma launcher that resembles a flamethrower. Sheds large amounts of weight by using a new type of shielding system instead of conventional armour, which protects almost entirely against limited small arms fire, but prolonged fights can drain it's shields, and is vulnerable to EMP. It has thrusters on it so that it can be dropped on a planet from orbit, and to navigate rough terrain.
Essex Class Carrier:
The Essex class carries little in the way of weaponry. There are three short range missile batteries and six point defense lasers. However, the Essex is capable of carrying almost three hundred fighters and dropships. This makes it a valuable asset, capaple of screening an entire fleet or overwhelming an enemies point defense system.
BATTLE CRUISERS
The battle cruisers are second in line to the flagships, but a lot of the time they far beat the flagship in sheer damage capability. Built to take a beating and commanded with pride, these are the battle cruisers used in space battles across the galaxy.
G532 Cruiser:
A lightly armored ship that is mostly used for scouting and protection of supply lines. It is lightly armed with cannons and turrets and doesn't carry many fighters in its hangar. It has a passenger capacity of 500 and is manned by a crew of 75
Claw Class Capital Cruiser:
An upgrade to the Cavalry Class Cruiser. It has a variety of different guns, using missiles, lasers, and mass drivers. (Basically your outer-space shotgun for close range.) It holds hundreds of crew members including marines/infantry. It's hangar bay holds many fighters, and a few boarding crafts and/or dropships. It uses light shields and missile defense, but is heavy on the armor, which uses nano technology to slowly repair it if it is damaged. It's of average speed, and has the highest type of if faster-than-light speed travel systems for long distances.
S.H.A.D.E. Battle Cruiser (SHADES only):
The elite frigates of the Vastaran fleet, S.H.A.D.E. battle cruisers are designed to search and destroy. Equipped with electro-photonic cloaking devices, they almost seem to phase in and out of existence, but if you see it, it's usually too late. While only a handful still exist, these ships are virtually indestructible technical marvels, constructed with a dioridium skeleton and hull and stretching nearly 5 miles from nose to tail. Armed with two rows of kinetic fusion cannons along the spine, it also boasts six forward guns mounted on two massive ball-and-socket turrets. Two of these forward guns fire 24mm neutronian shells with a magnetically ionized cesium coat, backed by the four electromagnetic rail-guns that fire 2,000lbs slugs of super-heated waste nuclear material and metal debris. These can also reverse their polarity and act as powerful tractor-beams preventing smaller craft from escaping or allowing the cruiser itself to effectively slingshot itself in the event the FTLE is somehow damaged or sabotaged. The cruiser also sports four more ion tracer beam turrets along it's underbelly, as well as two neutronian missile batteries each wing to rip apart enemy ships. Each S.H.A.D.E. Cruiser also carries 100 of their respective Fighters.
Vorax Invasion Carrier (Vastara only):
Massive interstellar behemoths, these ships carry the main military force of the Vastaran Empire. Equipped with six batteries of 2x30mm ENMAC cannons, two in the front, two port and starboard, and two in the back. The heavy, chisteel-plated hull is festooned with anti-fighter turrets, but the main armament of the Vorax Invasion Carrier is a fusion device that fires a concentrated beam of nuclear exhaust heat. This can without a doubt severely damage, if not destroy most starships of similar or smaller dimensions without an extremely powerful electromagnetic shield. Even then, the radiation could knock out important electronics and cause health problems later in life. Used against cities is militarily more effective, for the shock and awe factor; it is a weapon capable of mass destruction, as it's more effective and deadly used against a defenseless populace. It does however have long lasting effects for miles from radioactive fallout and can tear a hole in the atmosphere, and even the Vastarans only use it only as a last resort to secure power. The Vorax cruiser can carry 4,000 Shock Troopers, 6,000 Invasion Cadets, 500{2} AERIAL λ/Ω ships, and 100-200 ENMAC.
Inferno Class Cruiser (Coalition and Aglitan only):
The Inferno is designed around a spinal mounted ferric cannon, and has five point defense lasers, three dual gauss turrets, and three long range missile batteries. The inferno also has a decent sized hangar, capable of carrying up to fifteen fighters or dropships. Space is also set aside for up to 100 infantry. It was developed as a research project between the Aglitans and the Coalition.
Odin-class Command Cruiser (MPC only):
The Odin-class Command Cruiser is the staple flagship for all MPC fleets. Odins are made of titanium and ****** with Myrkium, as well as being covered in a thin layer of the same. The Odin boasts advanced shield systems as well. The armament of an Odin consists of 2 massive railguns, which face forward. Also on the ship are your standard laser cannons, 20 on each side, near 800 automatic turrets that target fighters, and several jamming computers that are able to manipulate magnetic fields that hold plasma and jam guided missiles at the same time. Two hangars on either side of the ship store up to 1000 fighters, and there is space for up to 4000 soldiers and 400 transport ships. The ship is crewed by 300 Merak and each ship is captained by an MPC-appointed Admiral. The Odin is primarily used as a command center rather than a battleship, and so its weapons are designed to be defensive. The Odin also features a WMD, which is a large swarm of self-replicating, all-consuming nanobots which can be released on a planet with the push of a button, creating a Grey Goo scenario. This weapon is usually only used to force surrender, as these nanobots have a built-in killswitch that the MPC can use as a bargaining tool (surrender, and we'll stop the nanobots from eating you ). This WMD can only be fired by direct command and confirmation from at least two thirds of the MPC Council and is only used as a last resort weapon. Speaking of direct command and confirmation, the Archangel uses an experimental communication device that allows for messages to be sent and recieved from any friendly planet anywhere in the galaxy without any form of delay. This allows constant communication between the 4 MPC fleets and the homeworlds at all times. Besides that, the Odin also has advanced scanning equipment and optical systems so that the Odin can provide the same support to ground forces that a satellite network can, but without having to have satellites in place beforehand. There are only 4 of these currently in existence, due to their massive cost in both credits and materials. One governs each Merak fleet, all named after measurements of time: The Century, The Eon, The Millenia, and The Era.
Kulikova-class Battleship (Veritan Only):
The Kulikova is the most powerful Veritan ship other than the two flagships. It has hundreds of laser batteries, a Scythe beam, and around 250 Archer anti-ship missiles. Each Kulikova has heavy shielding and even heavier armor, as well as engine power enough to keep the ship relatively agile. The Kulikova can service and deploy 1000 V9 Ryka wings, which is actually around 3000 individual fighters. It has a crew of 2,500 and can carry 200,000 additional soldiers (A typical Veritan Expeditionary Unit). It can also carry munitions, vehicles, and can launch about half of those soldiers at once with its drop-pod capacity.
Keshik-class Corvette (Veritan Only):
The Keshik is the smallest of the Veritan capital ships, with a crew of only 50. It has no transport capability, but excels in taking out larger targets through numbers and speed. It makes an effective forward scout, though it has limited combat power with its thin armor and few weapons. The Keshik is able to carry a boarding pod so that it can pass through the enemy lines to deliver boarding teams to enemy ships, and this is its greatest advantage in combat. (Comparable to a Corellian Corvette from Star Wars.)
Wilberforce-class Support Frigate/Interdictor (Veritan Only):
The Wilberforce-class Support Frigate is a medium-sized ship with limited weaponry. The ship has adequate shields and armor, but most of its power is put into speed and support systems. Wilberforce-class ships are designed to use specialized systems and tactics to provide support for allied ships. They have the use of an extensive repair drone system that is used to repair nearby ships even during combat. They also have the ability to jam nearby enemy communications and radar systems. The most important system that they use, however, is the most experimental- a jump-drive interdictor. The device actively closes all warp tunnels and shuts down jump drives in a wide radius using gravitational manipulation. This means that the device effectively locks down an area, preventing any ships from warping out of the area, but also preventing ships from warping in. This targets both allied fleets and enemy fleets, but provides a huge advantage in certain situations. When activated, the interdictor consumes nearly all power to the ship, primarily weapons and engine systems, which means that the Wilberforce-class is unable to move or fire weapons when the interdictor is active.
Chaldiran-class Frigate/Lineship (Veritan Only):
The Chaldiran is designed after its name- going head to head with foes equal to or greater than they are, much like the battle at Chaldiran between the Ottomans and Safavids. The Chaldiran's strength lies in its small frame and large amount of anti-ship weaponry. It features 200 Archer anti-ship missiles and 50 laser batteries, which is impressive considering the size of the frame. It is also built around a massive railgun (which is not new here) that fires two rounds at once, and each of these shatter into hundreds of pieces at a range of 2 km, essentially creating a giant space shotgun (which I think is new, besides the Excalibur). The Chaldiran has advanced shielding and thick armor, with a crew of 500. Unfortunately, the interior layout places the reactors very close to the jump drive, meaning that a boarding crew that can make it there has the whole package in one easy place. Otherwise, good luck bringing this ship down, especially when she's with her friends. The Chaldiran is most effective as a ship-to-ship combatant and has no support or transport capability.
FACTION SPECIFIC VEHICLES
Certain factions will custom-build powerful spacecraft to do their bidding. These can be found here.
GCS56 (Shadows only):
the strongest ship in the Shadows arsenal it is a large ship for combat operations it is armed with heavy cannons and of course shields as well as three Magnetic Accelerator cannons there are only 4 of them and act as the flag ships for the 4 Shadow battle groups they have a capacity of 3000 Shadows and regular soldiers and are of course made of the same material as the Shadows armor except higher quality.
GBS123 (Shadows only):
the primary battle ship of the UGD they are shielded battleships that have one Magnetic Accelerator Cannon as well as quite a few heavy cannons they have a capacity of 1000 Shadows and regular troops
GSS43 (Shadows only):
The Shadow's stealth ship made for sneaking past enemies rather than engaging them. It still has a few light cannons and turrets for destroying isolated ships, and they have the same camo tech as the Shadow's armor, but also a complete invisibility system as well as a cooling system to make them invisible to heat sensors, as well as other toys to avoid detection. Manned only by Shadows with a capacity of 300.
VX2000-Multipurpose plane (Lavindrica only):
A highly customizable dogfighter made by the kalkus of Lavindrica to serve as a dependable fighter in their forces.
Mors Vigiliam (Lavindrica only):
A massive ship, equipped with five sets of twin fusion reactors. It has nearly impenetrable shields, and carries 2,000,000 troops. It is used for boarding and planetary invasion. It has a massive krakenite drill on the front, the second reason it needs 10 fusion reactors.
S.H.A.D.E. Fighters (SHADES only):
There is a reason each S.H.A.D.E. Battle Cruiser only carries 100 of these specialized Fighters. Plated with dioridium over a composite alloy of carbon nanotubes and tungsten, these Fighters don't have standard Vastaran energy shields simply because they don't usually need them. Piloted by the S.H.A.D.E.S., they are known for their ability to swiftly annihilate and overpower. Equipped with an ENMAC cannon mounted on each crescent wing, an arsenal of antimatter missiles, and an electromagnetic-photon beam, they are easily capable of peeling open the hulls of Cruisers and Frigates.
AERIAL λ-119 Fighters (SHADES only):
The tried-and-true Vastaran fighter, the AERIAL λ is an efficient and deadly fighter in both space and atmosphere. Utilizing gathered solar-radiation in space with photosynthetic plates, most of the ship is used to store or release that power violently. It is equipped with powerful, dual-band shields, both static and electromagnetic to block incoming projectiles and safely absorb energy weapons, as well as carbon nanoplate armor, making it ridiculously durable. Standardly, is armed with a Nucleonic Ion Tracer, corrosive coagulant missiles that track targets via electromagnetic frequencies, and two neutronian machine guns mounted on robotic turrets under each wing.
AERIAL Ω-118 Dropships (SHADES only):
A sister-ship to the AERIAL λ, the Ω is very similar in design, utilizing the uncanny durability of the λ. While it is not meant for dogfights, it is armed with it's sister's Nucleonic Ion Tracer, and is specifically designed to take a beating and shield it's cargo.
Valkyrie Battle Transport (Aglitan only):
A modified cruiser design, the Valkyrie is designed to deploy a battalion of infantry and armor, whether by drop pod, EVA, or dropship. Valkyries are armed with ten point defenses lasers and four dual gauss cannon turrets for protection. There are two plasma cannonades for offensive action against ships, and the hangar can be converted to a missile battery for support of landing operations, at the cost of not being able to deploy armor.
Setao-Class Battlecruiser (Catorcian Alliance only):
Setao Battlecruisers are the staple frigates of Catorcian fleets, and are prized for being highly modular. A few were constructed in broad daylight during peacetime, but most of the war's Catorcian Setao Battlecruisers were constructed in secret in backwater systems. These ships are prized for being able to fill in a variety of roles due to the modular nature of its Pattern plasma cannons. Typically, Setao-classes are equipped with Dialno Pattern plasma cannons, and they have an oversized Teidga Pattern mounted in the bow, a weapon that really shouldn't be aimed at a planet.
Korshua Tank (Catorcian Alliance only):
The Korshua could be thought of as the Catorcian Alliance's answer to the Coalition's Predator tank; in fact, it is named after the top predator in the Catorcian ocean. A Korshua tank is moderately armored, and its turret is equipped with two cannon hardpoints. The hardpoints are highly modular, and able to equip many different variants of Pattern plasma cannons, ranging from vehicle mounted Teidga Patterns to specially-tuned Nakato Pattern artillery motors.
Grizzly (Coalition only):
One of four designs to emerge from project MG, the Grizzly is designed for urban combat. The legs and chassis are both modified to allow the Grizzly to change its height, and the Grizzly is able to use its arms as legs, allowing it to change from anywhere between two to five stories tall. The Grizzly is armed with a multitude of automatic laser turrets, preventing infantry from exploiting any blind spots. On the right arm the Grizzly is armed with a heavy plasma cannon, while on the left arm the Grizzly is armed with a heavy plasma mortar. In addition to laser turrets, the Grizzly has four plasma throwers designed to burn out troops in fortified buildings, and two forward facing anti-tank laser cannons.
Juggernaut (Coalition Only):
One of four designs to emerge from Project MG, the Juggernaut is designed to act as a conventional fighting vehicle in rough terrain. Juggernauts have a balance of armor and shields that allow for them to survive extended conflicts, while also allowing them to shrug off most conventional munitions. The right arm features a continuous fire laser cannon, while the left features an automatic plasma cannon. The Juggernaut also has armored compartments built in that allows it to transport three squads of soldiers and their equipment. The Juggernaut features much more advanced mobility when compared to other mechs from the same project, able to run faster and jump higher. The juggernaut features much less expensive systems compared to the other mechs, and is thus able to be produced in higher numbers.
Riptide (Catorcian Alliance only):
The first of the models that stemmed from Catorcian anti-intelligence efforts against the MG project, it was designed specifically to be a countermeasure to the new Coalition Gears. Like most Catorcian vehicles, it is amphibious, and can operate underwater almost as effectively as it can on the surface. The general design is based off of a successful amphibious Catorcian predator, and has an organic, quadruped appearance. While this has made it incredibly mobile, it has also made it notoriously difficult for anyone but a trained professional to pilot. Riptide is armed with a starship-rated plasma pattern launcher located in its head, an array of tactical warheads along its spine, and a repeater coilgun underneath its chin. Also notable are the plasma-heated claws on each of its legs. A typical attack would to place a well-aimed shot with Riptide's Teiga-pattern, to jump onto another Metal Gear itself and sever a leg, or to tear apart the cockpit and most likely the unfortunate pilot inside of it.
Landshark (Catorcian Alliance only):
One of the models that resulted from Catorcian anti-intelligence efforts against the MG project, Landshark was designed to be a heavy tank and artillery platform. Like most other Catorcian vehicles, it is amphibious. Its body and limbs are heavily armored, and stands on two legs, has two arms, and a 15 meter-long tail. Landshark's most notable weapon is a giant pattern plasma cannon on its spine, uniquely designed for it. It serves the same purpose as Venator's railgun, with similar limitations; it can only fire twice, three times if lucky, due to how taxing discharging the weapon is on Landshark. To fire the weapon in non-artillery mode, the Gear must bend forward, use its tail to balance, and engage the stabilizers in its heels, which does take time. Landshark's right arm is equipped with a plasma cannon on par with that of a tank, and light tactical warheads. Under its chin is a repeater coilgun. Its right arm is equipped with no weapons; rather, the entire limb is rigged up with a shield generator. It acts mostly like a giant, forward-facing riot shield, and is semi-configurable by the pilot to protect any accompanying units. While it is taxing, it is much more energy-efficient than a full-body shield.
Landshark Evangelion
A derivative of the standard Landshark design; Landshark Evangelion is retrofitted to improve Landshark's main cannon, drastically increasing the amount of times it can fire. It is experimental and still under testing and development.
Venator (Aglitan Only):
One of the four designs to emerge from Project MG, the Venator is designed for operating behind enemy lines. The Venator chooses to forgo armor for a shielding and stealth system. The shield is capable of taking massive amounts of damage, but it rapidly drains the Venator's energy reserves, meaning it is unable to sustain the shield under combat conditions for more then a few minutes. The stealth system is much more energy efficient, and is able to block all emissions from the Venator for days at a time, meaning that visual acquisition is the only way to find it. The Venator has two weapons, one on each arm. The first is an upsized Gauss Cannon, capable of rapidly shredding apart infantry and armor. The second is a prototype railgun, capable of silently firing a payload hundreds of miles, if provided with proper targeting data. The railgun is unable to be reloaded without specialized equipment, so it can only be fired once per mission.
Machina (Aglitan only):
One of the four designs to emerge from Project MG, the Machina is designed to act as a heavy siege platform. The Machina features heavy armor capable of shrugging off AP tank rounds, while an active defense system is able to protect both the Machina and surrounding forces from artillery and missile fire. On its back, the Machina has a tactical missile launcher, capable of firing a wide variety of missiles. On the right arm is a heavy gauss cannon, capable of rapidly destroying both armor and fortified bunkers. The left arm features a conventional chemical rapid fire chain gun that fires a variety of rounds, from kinetic, air burst, and incendiary.
CX-43 "Fenrir" Assault Fighter (MPC only):
The Fenrir is a fighter/bomber hybrid designed with flexibility in mind- the CX-43 can function as both a bomber and a fighter and operate in space and planet-side seamlessly. However, the fighter is quite loud and not good for any form of stealth operation while planetside. The Fenrir is constructed completely out of thrice-reinforced Titanium, with ribs of Myrkium and covered in a small layer of the same, making it nearly invulnerable to plasma or laser fire. The CX-43 carries an impressive armament as well, sporting 4 laser cannons and 8 homing missiles for air-to-air combat and either 6 conventional bombs, 1 nuclear bomb, or 20 plasma tor****s for air-to-ground. It also carries a small railgun designed to be used on buildings or other large, slow targets. The Fenrir is highly manuverable and very fast even in interceptor terms.
CX-25 "Sleipnir" Transport (Spec-Ops Version mCX-26 "Templar")(MPC only):
The Sleipnir is another multipurpose transport that can function in both planetside and non-atmospheric environments. It can hold 20 people and their supplies, but it can also carry a single vehicle. It does this by use of an extended "tail" that extends out nearly 20 feet out the back. This tail is counterbalanced by two engines, and along the bottom of the tail are a series of clamps that securely attach any vehicle, be it a jeep or tank or even a walker, to the underside of the transport. It can usually hold only one vehicle unless the vehicle is small or very lightweight. The transport has two engines in the front, making a total of four engines that swivel up or forward like an Osprey's rotors. Both versions of the CX-25 have two auto-turrets that fire at enemies to provide light support or help clear an LZ while dropping off soldiers and vehicles. Otherwise, the transport is unarmed. The Templar version carries only 10 soldiers and has a smaller tail that can't carry much more than a small PTT or similar vehicle. However, it is fitted with a cloaking system and silenced engines and can also make quicker turns and refuel in mid-air through use of a probe on the front.
CZ-12 "Mjolnir" Battleship (MPC only):
The CZ-12 is coated in a thin layer of Myrkium in addition to a hull of thrice-reinforced titanium. This gives it near invulnerability to any weapon that uses heat to destroy targets, including lasers, plasma, and flamethrowers and such. The CZ-12 is also equipped with light shielding. It has moderate speed, with an armament of one massive railgun and around 15 laser cannons, 6 plasma cannons, and autoturrets to take down small targets like incoming fighters. A CZ-12 also carries around 500 CX-43 Fenrirs. Each MPC fleet has 40 of these.
CZ-93 "Heimdall" Transport Cruiser (MPC only):
The CZ-93 is a slow-moving, lightly armed ship that is incredibly large and bulky, each ship carrying nearly 50,000 soldiers, 5,000 vehicles, and 10,000 CX-43 Fenrirs. The indididual ship is not very exciting (other than being impossibly huge), and carries only the same amount of weapons the Odin does. On a battleship, thats a lot of weapons but with only that many weapons to cover such a huge surface area, the CZ-93 is very vulnerable from many angles. The ship is made of 10 times-reinforced titanium and is coated in a layer of Myrkium 10 feet thick, with heavy shielding. It is very slow and bulky, making it impractical for anything other than the transport of massive amounts of units. It is fairly well armored though. Each MPC fleet has 4 of these.
CV-34 "Thor" Battle Walker (MPC only):
The CV-34 is a fast-moving mech designed to rival a tank in terms of survivability and damage output, but still be fast and versatile. The Thor has a rectangular body with a large double-barreled railgun on the top. Instead of traditional tank treads or wheels, however, the CV-34 utilizes six mechanical legs. The joints of these legs are coated with Myrkium, allowing them to move frictionlessly and effortlessly. The movement of these legs is almost organic-looking and allows the Thor to scuttle along at very high speeds and over almost any terrain like an oversized beetle. The Thor also has two swivel-mounted laser chainguns in addition to its primary railgun. The CV-34 can also transport up to 10 soldiers but has no shielding. It has ribs of Myrkium to help it resist laser and plasma fire and is built to take a heavy beating and come out unscathed. The Thor is also equipped with an AI and a remote control system to allow it to be controlled by a remote pilot or be a completely automated drone in the absence of a pilot.
CV-36 "Loki" Support Walker (MPC only):
The Loki is another example of the Merak's extensive use of walkers, but is designed to be less of an assault walker and more of an infantry support vehicle. The Loki has two legs which are coated in Myrkium, allowing fluid, organic, and fast movement. The CV-36 is equipped with a single laser chaingun and light armor. The Loki is an improvement over regular AI walkers because it can project a force field around it in a wide radius and can emit a nanobot "heal spray" to assist soldiers on the field by healing minor injuries and providing temporary cover for units on the move. The Loki can also provide covering fire with its chaingun and a pod of micro-missiles which are equally effective against infantry, vehicles, and buildings.
D2 Hesta Battle Tank (Veritan Only):
Named after the greatest general in Veritan history, the Hesta is a time-tested machine of war. Its weapons are simple but brutally effective: It features two anti-personnel laser turrets, one on the main turret and one on the tank body. The main turret has two barrels. One fires a very high-power laser while the other fires a special type of HE shell, referred to as a CF3 shell. The CF3 shell is a thick metal casing surrounding a hollow inside which is filled with 3 parts chlorine trifluoride and one part water, separated by a thin metal divider. Under ordinary stress the divider keeps the volatile CF3 from reacting with the water, but when the shell is fired the force of impact breaks the divider and releases the chlorine trifluoride to react with the water. This reaction alone is highly explosive, but the metal shell encasing the reaction pressurizes it and enhances the explosive power even further. By the time the shell explodes it has enough force to blow through several feet of solid concrete. The downside to the shell is its lack of armor piercing capability due to its design, relegating it to a role as a highly effective HE round or a demolition tool against entrenched enemy fortifications. The D2's armor doesn't hold up to the Predator's, but its weaponry and speed are unrivaled.
G4 Barikla (Veritan Only):
The G4 is a Veritan APC/Supply Truck, designed to both transport troops into battle as well as work as a logistics vehicle. The G4 is split into two sections. The front half contains the troop area, which holds 12 soldiers, and the cab with the driver(s) and gunner. The back half is a flat bed with walls that can fold down to become ramps for the offloading of cargo. This flat bed can carry just about anything: fuel, munitions, basic supplies, portable fortifications, more soldiers, or even a PTT or two. The G4 has two main guns on separate turrets, each of them a medium-power laser cannon. The APC also features smoke grenade launchers and an Active Defense System to target missiles and grenades.
J7 Martel Assault Bike (Veritan Only):
The Martel is an incredibly fast motorbike designed to be used by one person. The bike is cheap and affordable, which makes it widespread throughout Veritan Scout units and Dragoon units. The motorcycle is designed purely with speed in mind. Unfortunately this makes it really loud, but it is able to move faster than any other planetary vehicle besides aircraft. The bike doesn't have on-board weapons or storage space, but there is a hook on the handlebar designed so that you can use any standard weapon one-handed without losing control of the handlebar or sacrificing accuracy.
V9 Ryka Starfighter/Jet Fighter (Veritan Only):
The V9 is designed to be as adaptable as it is affordable. It is able to fly in both space and atmospheres, it can be outfitted with armament ranging from that of a dedicated bomber to that of an interceptor, and it is very cheap. It is only large enough to fit one person with little room left over. The Ryka is so small, in fact, that three of them can take up the space of a single Coalition Eagle, which allows them to be fielded in much larger numbers. The downside to all of this is that the survivability and attack power of the vehicle is dramatically reduced. This is compensated for with maneuverability.
RDP-8 (Reusable Drop Pod):
This is essentially a larger version of the single-seater drop pods used by Commandos and Shock-troopers, and it is reusable after impact (doh). The RDP-8 seats eight people and is armored enough to withstand enemy fire for the amount of time it takes to drop. The pod doesn't just slam into the ground like other pods, but lands (relatively) gently using retrograde thrusters that begin firing at 1000 feet. After it deploys troops, it can either be carried back to its launch ship by a dropship or fly back itself using the thrusters, provided that extra fuel be supplied to it. This pod is less effective at quick entry but is still faster and cheaper than a dropship, providing a more economic and time saving way to deploy reinforcements after a LZ is secured.
EXPERIMENTAL VEHICLES
These vehicles are experimental prototypes that may not even exist, but have been rumored to. The exact details are unknown, and what we do know about them is foggy.
Shard:
One of the four experimental prototype crafts; it is designed to be a very sleek, fast, powerful spacecraft, and also is one of the first to carry a warp drive. It has light cannons, but can propel the projectile out of the cannons and incredible speeds.
Dagger:
One of the four experimental prototype crafts; it is designed to be a sort of scout craft. While being very fast and light, it carries minimal weaponry.
Shade:
One of the four experimental prototype crafts; it is designed to be a heavy assault, high power weapon house. While the three plasmaiac thrusters on the back provide some speed, the weight overpowers most of it.
Drop:
One of the four experimental prototype crafts; not much is known about this one. It is still mostly in the developmental stage, but it is known that it will be a bomber. With stealth technology making it nearly invisible, and a high tolerance payload, it can be loaded with nearly any type of bomb and drop nearly any type of bomb, then fly away, and never be seen once.
Flame:
Flame was intended to be one of the four, but was scrapped and replaced by Shade due to technology restraints. Only 34 were ever built, and they are considered very high end now.
The Kestral:
A very rare ship, barely beyond the prototype stage. Kestral class ships are highly modular, and can be equipped to do anything from infiltrating a system to taking down enemy ships many time the Kestral's tonnage. This is done through a extensive nano-tech network done throughout the ship that can install different modules in less then an hour, instantly changing it's role. The Kestral has a crew of less then ten people, with room for an additional twenty. It is a prime long range operation ship, able to sustain a team of spec ops for years on end. The only reason Kestrals are so rare are due to their very high cost.
NON-WAR VEHICLES
The peaceful, non-attack part of future war. Usually used in galactic infrastructure.
ST-001:
This is a probe sent out to explore new planets. It is mostly obsolete now, due to its brother craft, ST-002, but still useful if money is a constraint.
ST-002:
This is the more powerful probe sent out to explore new planets, its sister craft being ST-001, but this one has a stronger structure, more tools and weapons, and it is much faster.
RCC:
The royal carrying craft is used only when royalty needs to travel. That would be planet rulers, kings, queens, presidents, etc. It is heavily defended, usually with packs of S-72s around it. It can also carry supplies for longer journeys.
Wave:
A ship that is used for very long journeys (Cross dimensional, inter galactic, etc.) It has a large half circle in the back of it that is filled with solar generators. That back part is also so large that the sun’s rays actually push the craft along, without thrusters or such.
~~Gadgets~~
Soldiers use these to benefit them in battle.
Homing device:
A small device you can put on any gun to select a target and home in on it more effectively. This works most preferably with a rocket launcher.
HAE (hack and explode):
A device that short circuits the power, overloading a system, and blowing up the thing. Some things have protection against this, but most don't.
Cloaking device:
A sensor put on vehicles that will project the scenery around, behind, under, etc. around a vehicle using sensors. The vehicle is practically invisible.
HF inc. parachute and jetpack:
A parachute and jetpack made by Human Flight incorporated.
Airstrike marker:
A small round object that is placed down and releases a signal to the nearest bomber to bomb the spot.
Grenade launcher:
There are many types of this. It can be installed on most rifles and blasters to provide extra offense.
Night goggles:
Optical tools used to provide virtual light to the area around you. The highest end models are used by marksmen and scouts as well as specialists.
Magnetic Field Manipulator (MFM):
This gadget is, for lack of a better word, a tool for many things. It allows the extraction of Neutronian matter, the generation of Electromagnetic shields, etc. For example, Razaryth, the Supreme Commander of the S.H.A.D.E.S., has one built into his suit that allows him to manipulate electromagnetic fields at his whim with a neutral uplink.
Monofilament Wire:
A common if dangerous tool, it was the precursor of the Monofilament lash and is typically used aboard starships for cutting rations and during construction.
Omni-Lines (Omni-Suit only):
Essientially a self powered zipline that is much faster and much more controllable. Using magnetic energy and gravitational exploitation to propel the user to their destination, they must have the Omni-Suit so they can stop safely because it has magnets to counteract the propelling effect of the lines deploying when the user indicates.
Grav-Boots (Omni-Suit only):
An Omni-Suit extension, it allows the user to stick to metal surfaces and
'jump' from metal surface to metal surface. Also a key part in Achi infrastructure.
Grav-Tether:
An experimental gadget, used on specific targets to open security or blast doors. Used like a whip towards the target, then you pull and it opens whatever the target is connected to.
~~Suits~~
These are the soldiers main line of personal defense. Choose your forces suits wisely.
Stadard Body armor:
A suit of combat armor that includes a helmet with a retractable visor that has a few HUD features. Usually worn by typical infantry.
Exo suit:
A black suit of armor that is strong enough to help someone survive a few shots, has two knives on the leg, a chain gun extends from the arm to fire quickly, and there are throwing blades and mines to the side. A side arm is a silenced plasma pistol. This is quite an expensive suit, and only elitist groups in the war will be seen using it.
ODST armor:
Better known as shock armor, this armor protects mostly against radiation, used on Kartarza a lot because of the nuclear conditions. It can protect in war, but it will make the user slow and clumsy. It's not actually designed for war.
Dark metal suit:
A suit worn by stealth forces. It's composed of a light-weight but strong dark metal and re-inforced with woven carbon-fiber, and can carry a substantial amount of munitions.
CM suit:
EA portable Electronic Counter-Measures device. It comes in multiple models, ranging from a version that can be fitted on power armor, to tank portable versions that can jam lightly defended bases. An ECM suite can be used for a variety of purposes, from blocking enemy guidance systems, hacking enemy comms, or cooking a nice steak, even though the last requires tricky maneuvering with the larger versions.
RIOT Shield (not really a suit but whatevs):
Reflected Ion cOnTainment shields, these are shields made of a lightweight steel-carbon alloy. There are slits cut into the sides for the user to have a sidearm as well. The main advantage of the shield is a projector mounted on the inside that projects a positive ion field over the surface of the shield that dissipates the negative electrons in plasma weaponry with ease and lessens the power of laser weaponry. This field doesn't stand up to too many hits, but it is useful in short battles in concealed places. This makes it popular with police forces, gendarme forces (like Veritan Stormtroopers), boarding crews, and special forces teams, all of whom have to fight in very close quarters and for whom even the slightest exposure to enemy fire can kill.
FACTION SPECIFIC SUITS
A lot of factions will develop their own suits to fit their own needs in battle. You can find those here.
Live-suit (Shadows only):
The code name for the suit the real Shadows wear. It’s made of a mysterious life-like substance which is stronger than standard body armor and repairs itself if given the time. The suits strongest piece is the helmet. The Suit features a wide variety of gadgets to help the Shadows in the field primarily its ability to change colors according to the environment making the wearer practically invisible to the human eye. The helmet has thermal vision, and HUD; the suit is made to take more punishment than standard body armor. variations of this suit have been designed for specific operations where the standard suit is unable to do variations include Extreme Stealth, Water operations, Position holder, Extreme Biohazard and more.
ASGY suit (Coalition Forces only):
A suit worn by Coalition Forces in battle. It is strong and consists of a few extra ammo packs, a case for a pistol and a gun, and if needed, a small stand for an MSG rocket launcher.
Mobile Suit Cobra (Lavindrica only):
The main combat suit of the Lavindrican military, equipped with laser guns.
Mobile Suit Feras (Lavindrica only):
Lavindrica's powerful heavy artillery units wear this. It's made of reinforced krakenite and is quite thick, but assisted by hydraulics so as not to slow down the wearer.
Mobile Suit Snake (Lavindrica only):
This is the suit that Lavindrica's stealth units wear. It's sleek and dark, and has a built in cloaking device, as well as high-accuracy laser rifles.
S.H.A.D.E. Armor (SHADES only):
Havings horns means making armor is a lengthy process compared to making other machinery. However, it is not impossible, and the S.H.A.D.E. Armor is a technical work of art. The wearer is protected by Dioridium plates over a carbon nanofiber weave, virtually impenetrable, and contains a nanorobotic 'vascular' system that monitors the wearer's physical health. It also provides a physical 'boost' by breaking down acidic build-up in the muscle, providing almost limitless stamina, enhanced strength, and clearer thinking while under physically stressful conditions. The suit's systems are powered both by photosynthesis and hydrogen gas, and can be checked and configured via gauntlet controls. They come standardly equipped with both static and electromagnetic shield projectors, magnetic grappling line, monofilament wire, jump-jets, and contains many pockets for munitions, explosives, and other gadgets.
Jumpjet armor (Aglitan only):
Vacuum sealed medium armor designed to stop low to medium strength weaponry. Jumpjet armor grant infantry aerial mobility by use of gravity nullification devices and an integrated jetpack. In addition to sustained flight infantry are able to operate in EVA environments, and can deploy to a planets surface from orbit, through this drains much of the armor's energy.
VRS Omni-Suit (ARP only):
A suit woven from a combination of synthetic nano-fibers and krakenite, made by pure accident when a scientist was attempting to make a krakenite suit and accidentally discovered nano-fibers and weaved them together. Somewhat heavy, but used extensively by the Achi for transport via Omni-Lines and Grav-Boots for repairing on the outside of ships.
Crusader Neuro-Armor (MPC only):
Crusader Neuro-Armor was developed to complement and enhance Crusader abilities and transform the hyper-elite soldiers into hyper-elite supersoldiers. Neuro-Armor consists of three layers- a under armor "nano-layer", a flexible all-encompassing bodyglove, and a layer of plating. The nano-layer is linked to the Crusader's neural uplink, allowing the armor to respond to the Crusader's thoughts. The nano-layer is the most important part of the armor, allowing the Crusader to have incredibly enhanced abilities. It works by releasing microscopic nanobots into the skin. These nanobots target muscles, blood vessels, and nerves with chemicals and biological agents designed to enhance performance, granting superhuman (super-Merak?) endurance, strength, speed, and reflexes. In addition, the nanobots themselves can be redirected to enhance a particular part by the control of the neural uplink, allowing the Crusader to focus on a specific trait such as strength and boost it specifically for a short time. The nano-layer is also able to self destruct if needed, preventing the enemy from gaining knowledge of it. The bodyglove layer goes over the nano-layer, and its primary task is to defend the fragile nano-layer. It is made of a carbon nanotube base with kevlar padding over it, which helps to silence the movement of the wearer and protect against ballistic projectiles. The last layer is the plate layer, which consists of plates of shaped Myrkium, the alloy that Merak use. The plates are practically invulnerable to laser and plasma fire and are frictionless, allowing them to be completely silent while moving. The armor is its own completely sealed environment, with temperature regulated by the neural uplink. It can store 4 hours worth of oxygen for underwater or spacial environments. The helmet is essentially a more advanced version of the standard Gungnir armor system helmet, except it also includes infrared, thermal, and ultraviolet visor modes and is sealed like the rest of the armor. The armor is a dark gray color with a digital camouflage pattern which breaks up the soldier's outline and helps to maintain stealth in dark, urban, or outer-space environments. The battery lasts for three weeks without a recharge, and power loss barely effects the armor. HUD systems and life support shut off, but the nano-layer remains fully functional. Crusader armor can also be equipped with a cloaking device, but the device is heavy and provides a large drain on battery power, shortening it to 24 hours.
Merak Standard Armor System "Gungnir" (MPC only):
The Gungnir is the standard armor system for all MPC soldiers. Made of carbon nanotubes and kevlar, it is cheap, easily made, light, and provides a fair amount of protection. Plates made of a strong plastoid reinforce key areas. The Gungnir is the equal of other nations' BDUs, but is superior in one respect: A sensor system in the helmet allows other soldiers wearing the Gungnir to see what they are seeing and relays key information back to the command center. The default armor also includes a HUD system and a night vision visor mode. An advanced suite can also be equipped which tracks enemies by the electric pulse generated by their heartbeat and highlight them on all other Gungnir HUDs, allowing soldiers to see key targets even through walls. This advanced suite is more expensive and usually is only equipped on Scouts, Snipers, Spotters, and Special Operations forces.
Angel Armor (Coalition only limited supply. Angel’s primary):
Angel armor is a tough multi use armor system made to resist a variety of threats. The armor has light power armor abilities which are recharged by a kinetic based power that is recharged by the moving of joints. While not allowing the full benefits of a powered armor system it prevents the armor from being at risk of shutting down from lack of power and trapping the user. The armor is made for drop soldiers and carries mounts for allowing carrying of the heavy weapons needed to take and hold the landing zone. It also has a mount for carrying jetpacks in space enviroments.
Juno Armor Suit (Veritan Only):
The Juno is the latest medium armor suit available to Veritan Army standard infantry. It is still low-tech compared with Coalition armor. The Juno is designed for maximum mobility and utility. The armor is weaker than equivalent Coalition and Catorcian armors, but wearers have much greater freedom of movement and can carry large amounts of ammunition and gadgets. The armor is fairly plain, based off of ancient armor much like all other Veritan aesthetic, with the armor looking like a blending of modern, ancient Roman, and ancient Japanese. Soldiers wear different cloth pieces in addition to their armor as a symbol of rank, ranging from a basic scarf and Mark (like Destiny's Titan Marks) for all soldiers to a full-blown cape for generals only. Other notable pieces include command skirts for sergeant ranks and higher.
Ares Armor Suit (Veritan Only):
The Ares is the heaviest unpowered armor suit available to Veritan Army heavy troopers. This armor rejects usual Veritan patterns, focusing solely on survivability. The armor is as strong as Coalition heavy armor, which is remarkable given the lower tech of the armor. The downside is that soldiers wearing the armor are restricted in their movement and slow given the weight of the armor. Otherwise it is similar to the Juno suit in aesthetic.
Iris Armor Suit (Veritan Only):
The Iris is the lightest armor suit in the Veritan lineup, usually used by scouts and pilots as well as any other soldiers who need the maximum amount of movement and dexterity the armor offers. The Iris is barely combat-rated, with armor only able to withstand a single shot before giving away. This allows the suit to provide almost unlimited freedom of motion, however, and the lack of plates means that it is the stealthiest non-powered suit in the Veritan arsenal. Aesthetically it is similar to the Juno suit.
KHAN Exoskeletal Armor Suit (Veritan Only):
The KHAN armor suit is the heaviest armor suit in the Veritan lineup, period. This armor is powered by a thorium reactor and causes the wearer to have massively amplified strength. The basic principles used in its design are crude but effective. This is proven by the fact that this armor suit was first put into use in 4098, which is several decades ago. The armor has no built-in weapons, but various mountings on the arms and shoulders allow for the latest heavy weapons to be mounted. The armor is nearly sealed, with the pilot set inside the torso with head exposed. The armor stands at 10 feet tall, with heavy titanium armor, supported by a frame of hydraulic joints that provide the strength required to lift such heavy gear. The KHAN is generally equipped with a shoulder-mounted rocket launcher, high-power laser chaingun mounted on a forearm, and a flamethrower or grenade launcher mounted on the other forearm. They are generally deployed in pairs and used for heavy assault work.
Nyx Armor Suit (Veritan Only):
The Nyx is a medium-light armor suit developed specifically for use by Champions and stealth forces. The Nyx is a somewhat lighter version of the Juno Suit, with less supplementary plates in exchange for a wider field of motion and more space for the various utility items that Champions may need to carry into battle. The Nyx Armor has support for a wide variety of modifications, including a sealed EVA variant, a command variant, heavier armor modifications, and even a rudimentary cloaking variant that isn't as advanced as Coalition or Catorcian variants but is effective enough.

Eaglescar9:
Name: Juolhois Jern Dfroam
Screenname: Eaglescar9
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Personality: Jern is a peculiar character. It’s disputable whether he’s terribly bright or not, as well as whether he’s completely sane. He is prone to making impromptu actions in tight situations, but when given the time, he prefers to strategize. When you meet him, he’ll come across as somebody who is concise and to the point, somebody that will answer only with what’s needed. But as a combat engineer and through other life experiences, he’s learned that there’s more than one way around everything. He likes to be practical in difficult situations, as well as something he picked up in his years of serving the Coalition Forces: In good situations, be pessimistic. Think anything could go wrong at any moment. In bad situations, be optimistic. Think anything could lead to an upturn in the situation. Such a mindset has done him quite well over the years.
Looks: Jern is tall, even for chufi, standing at around 7’5”. His intimidating height gives him an air of importance, and he uses that well in battle. He is built more in the legs, like most Ceretellans. His skin is the typical mottled orange and green of chufis, and he of course doesn’t have hair being a chufi. His eyes are a dull purple, almost indiscernible from a pale black. However, his eye slits are bright white.
Type of soldier: Combat Engineer
Weapons: Mainly a modified plasma hyperblaster, as well as an X5-Q7. As a side arm he carries an enhanced accuracy laser pistol.
Home planet: Ceretella
What side you are fighting for: The Coalition Forces

Looks: Long-ish dark hair, the ends usually in curls. She is a bit pale, with dark blue eyes. Her nose is kind of stubby.
Type of soldier: Pilot
Weapons: Usually anything she can get her mits on, but she prefers the AK-109-47 with plasma. She typically doesn't need weapons due to her occupation in the war. She has her own S-72 fighter, which has been enhanced in many ways.

Personality: He is intelligent, and uses it a lot. He is often quite frightened of dangerous situations. Despite this, he is a loyal soldier, but will sometimes stay behind the front line of battle a bit. He is an accomplished pilot, but usually is grounded for fear of crashing. He is also good with computers. Many consider him socially awkward, but the friends he does have don't think he's terribly strange,
Looks: He's not the tallest, at around 5'8, but he is stronger than average. His hair is curly and short, and a rich, chocolate brown. His eyes are light green.
Type of soldier: Pilot, hacker, and soldier
Weapons: Through his many occupations in the war, Harold uses a variety of weapons. He almost always has his own laser rifle which he tinkered with quite a lot, and even has his own plasma force injection in to the laser beam.

Other: He can have rare bouts of extreme braveness.
Name: Savon Eps
Screenname: Eaglescar9
Species: Taier
Age: 287
Gender: Male
Looks: Tall, and slender, even for a Taier. Featureless body by nature leaves little to describe here, other than his unusually sharp appearing eyes.
Personality: Well, to start off, he's just freaky. He's quiet usually, but you can always tell he's thinking of something diabolical. He has absolutely no problem back-stabbing anyone, and will do only what he sees fit to do. He finds language superfluous for whatever reason, and his sentences are usually very short. He's not loyal at all, and while usually he has back routes and reasons not to be loyal, his intentional seclusion can be his downfall. He's calculating and cunning, prone to irrational actions, but he doesn't mind as long as he isn't harmed directly or indirectly too much.
Weapons: He only carries a specialized plasma hyperblaster with him.
Home planet: Yuvian
What side you are fighting for: He's a non-loyal backstabber, he fights with who he wants.

Name: Nicholas Parker
Screenname: Lightningfalcon
Age: 48
Gender: Male
Personality: While he may seem sane initially, Parker, like any commando, is actually kind of crazy. Name: Kit Dunley
Screenname: Godfrey
Age: 38
Gender: Male
Looks: Kit is caucasian, and has short rusty-brown hair and brown eyes.
Personality: Kit prefers to work with and direct operations with his men, and is at least a LITTLE pragmatic.
Weapons: Handheld plasma-powered ore cutter. Think of a plasma cutter.
Home planet: Earth
What side you are fighting for: The Canary Mining Corps
Other: Kit is the director of mining operations in the CMC, a small freelance mining company. The Canaries recently shipped out to nearby Epsilon Eridani IV, after their scouts discovered resource-rich asteroids. They don't really know anything else abou thte system, besides the gigantic planet in the distance.
Vehicles, infantry, and weapons your team uses: The Canaries have about 270 men, about 130 of them are support staff operating machinery. About 90 men are miners, and the rest are pilots or whatever. There are 30 civillian walkers equipped with clawed grips in their soles, thrusters, and mining lasers/contact beams. Equipment includes mining lasers, plasma-powered ore cutters, or the supercollider contact beam, an explosive tool that is used to pulverize debris. Gear like this can be useful in a pinch if enemies show up.
Soldier customisation: Miners are equipped with handheld mining lasers, plasma-powered ore cutters (Think of the plasma cutter or line gun from Dead Space), or the powerful supercollider contact beam (Totally not ripped off from somewhere). The Canaries have a complement of walkers that are equipped for zero-gee and with vehicle-mounted versions of the standard mining equipment. Ships, which are usually small, fast freighters, are not usually well armed, but there are a few fighters, in case the worst happens. The CMC flagship, the Sweet Blue, is "a cargo freighter renovated to serve as an ad-hoc command platform in deep space.
Name: Lance McCormick
Screenname: Goldfish of Glory
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Personality: Lance is a very quiet and simple person. He does not elaborate on questions that only require a simple 'yes' or a 'no' as an answer, and firmly believes in the Ghosts. Like his counterpart Gaul Jackson, he has a knack for gadgets, machines, and robots, and this skill has been recognized. He is still pretty green for a Ghost, however, at age 25.
Looks: Lance is 5'7", noticeably shorter than the average Joe. Lance shaves his head bald, but a shadow of his former hair is still there, revealing that it was formally jet-black. His eyes are almost green, an unusual color.
Type of soldier: Shadow
Weapons: Live Suit, S7-G5, and a few tools, such as a laser welder, an old-fashioned wrench, and a bit more.
Home planet: Epsilon Eridani IV
What side you are fighting for: Shadows
Other: Under Blake Dark's regiment.
Name: Aedifex-139
Screenname: Goldfish of Glory
Age: 14 years
Gender: Masculine programming
Type of soldier: Aedifex is a cyborg, although not in the traditional sense. Nor is he a soldier.
Looks: Aedifex, at first glance, would appear to be an advanced maintenance robot of some sort. There is no flesh to be seen, he is covered in metal, and his belly and chest covered in segments to allow greater mobility. His eyes glow a soft and pleasing blue light, and various tools are built into his arms. This notion is quickly dispersed when the observer sees him move fluidly, somehow looking organic even with the clanky servometers that provide his limbs with motion. His shoulders, chest, and back showcase the standard yellow and black often associated with maintenance, construction workers, or construction hazards. His head is somewhat noticeably well-protected and rigid. He has no 'mouth' to speak of or anything representing a mouth, but communicates through a speaker on an unknown location of his body.
Personality: Aedifex has had many of his organs from his previous fleshy body. The only organ he retains now is his brain, supported by nutrients and chemicals. Without the hormone-producing organs, he looks and acts cold, calculating, and neutral for most of the time. He has managed to re-develop some personality quirks, one of which is the ability to be snarky.
Weapons: Aedifex is not armed. He is stronger than the average Human, Chufi, or Serci, though, and he can electrify his limbs, but at the cost of accumulating hard-to-repair circuit damage through the limb.
Home planet: Unknown. As of now, only his only home is the Firefly.
What side you are fighting for: The Coalition
Other: Aedifex typically serves as a first-response unit for structural damage, as well as performs some of the more menial tasks. Since he no longer needs to breathe, eat, or drink, he is also suitable for extremely hostile environments, such as EVA. He is also originally not Human, Serci, or even Chufi, and will refuse to admit what species he used to be. Those who wish to know more and have the authorization to do so would learn that he was formally a captive Rengal in a 'unique' program.
Name: Gaul Jackson
Screenname: Goldfish of Glory
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Personality: Gaul has an unusual fascination for technology, robots, electrical devices, and other various knick-knacks and doo-dads, and can be overly-protective of it. Despite being a soldier, he heavily dislikes fighting, but his skill as an on-field engineer makes up for it. Gaul is often a conglomeration of different moods; he's quiet one minute, outspoken and loud the next one, and somewhere in the middle after that. While Gaul is certainly intelligent, he might take slower to piece things together, but military life is beginning to shape that out.
Looks: Gaul is 5'9" feet tall. Military training keeps him in good-enough shape. His eyes and hair are brown, and his hair is short enough to stay in one style: short straight cowlick thing. His hands have a few burn scars.
Type of soldier: On-field Engineer
Weapons: Standard Body Armor, Plasma Pistol, as well as the tools of the trade.
Home planet: Earth
What side you are fighting for: The Coalition
Other: Grandchild of the mostly infamous Combat Engineer Neil Jackson.
Name: Syskis Kirak
Screenname: Godfrey of Infamy
Age: 162
Gender: Male
Personality: Syskis was born on the Unicus Machina, and taught to be loyal and hardworking for his generous and benevolent masters, the Vastarans, and by extension, the Empress of the Vastaran Empire. However, that mindset didn't stay with him forever, but there were benefits from being a tad bit more productive, if you didn't mind feeling a little more tired. Syskis is defined by his willingness to grasp opportunity, and a lifetime and a half of service that has taught him how to keep out of trouble.
Looks: Syskis' armor takes on the coloration of the majority of the Petra LocustÆ, taking the hue of the surface soil of asteroids. His pupils dominate much of his eyes. Syskis stands at 6'8" tall. In other words, a common LocustÆ.
Weapons: None to speak of.
Home planet: The Unicus Machina
What side you are fighting for: The Vastaran Empire, S.H.A.D.E.
Other: Sometimes, being a tad bit more productive puts you in with the S.H.A.D.E. Sometimes, being with the S.H.A.D.E. imprints a little onto you.
Name: Lyah Duren Murmillo
Screenname: Godfrey Almighty
Age: 2,721
Gender: Female
Personality: Lyah's psyche matches that of a typical S.H.A.D.E. soldier. She is aggressive, intelligent, and committed to the restoration of the Vastaran Empire, while adaptable enough to toss aside her inhibitions of attaining personal honor and glory in the name of a successful campaign.
Looks: Lyah's head is vaguely crocodilian in shape, while still resembling one of the prehistoric reptiles of old. Her scales are teal, and free of markings. Her feather-crest is rather short for a female, and holds a slightly darker hue than the rest of her body.
Type of soldier: S.H.A.D.E. infantry
Weapons: Usually, Lyah wears unmodified S.H.A.D.E. armor, and carries an electro-proton rifle. However, she enjoys using all the toys available to S.H.A.D.E. soldiers, but isn't yet skilled enough to handle a monofilament lash.
Home planet: Vastarus Beta, the Unicus Machina
What side you are fighting for: The Vastaran Empire, S.H.A.D.E.
Name: Keiton Nirano
Screenname: Glorious Godfrey
Species: Heredent
Age: 142
Gender: Male
Looks:
Personality: For over a century, Keiton has been harboring a grudge against the planets of the Coalition, even though he fought for Earth and Ceretella during the Great War; he regrets that he has to fight through many foot soldiers that had nothing to do with it and that many of the bureaucrats responsible back then are now dead. Keiton also didn't become a force commander for no reason; through quiet trials staged on Catorce, he proved to be a competent if junior commander. As of atypical Heredent behavior, Keiton is cold and calculating, if more only just a bit more thoughtful over the lives of enemy soldiers.
Home planet: Catorce
What side you are fighting for: Catorcian Alliance
Vehicles, infantry, and weapons your faction uses: Keiton's force isn't meant for prolonged engagements; He commands two Setao-class Battlecruisers, with 100 dropships and 250 fighters they both carry, combined. His forces are mixed between 600 Heredent and Rengal soldiers of several different specializations, with Harmix rifles and several variants of plasma cannons. Artillery is minimal, with its role being filled by Korshua tanks outfitted with specially tuned pattern plasma cannons, 50 dedicated armored units that also have been retrofitted with pattern plasma cannons.
Soldier customization: Typically, soldiers carry Keimshuko-pattern plasma cannons and its variants or Harmix rifles, though common and specialized weapons such as the plasma hyper-rifle are regular sights as well. The most common vehicle they use is the Korshua medium tank, a highly modular vehicle that can serve many roles. Rengal soldiers were specialized sealed - and protected - rebreather units to breath, and most, if not all, wear enclosed helmets; this is for the benefit of the enemy, as their faces are exceptionally perturbing. Heredent do not have such constraints because they are air breathers.
Name: Otero Deiso
Screenname: Goldfish of Glory
Species: Rengal
Age: 131
Gender: Male
Personality: Otero mixes typical Rengal ferocity with adaptability, making him a relatively competent soldier. He has been around and was a veteran of the Great War in service of Travidia, and had one of his legs replaced once.
Looks: Otero's lineage lived in moderately deep waters; It was slightly dark, but there was still enough illumination to see a reasonable distance without aid. Therefore, his scales are comparable to navy, and his eyes are amber-colored. He is 8 feet long, and his cybernetic leg enhancements allow him to stand up at 7'2".
Weapons: Catorcians utilize conventional land weapons, as well as ones of their own design.
Home planet: Catorce
Faction: The Catorcian Alliance
Name: Viziroth Ester Dux
Screenname: Goldfish of Glory
Species: Vastaran
Age: 3,429 years
Gender: Male
Looks: Viziroth stands at 10'5" feet tall, claiming a few inches over the average height of a Vastaran. He is covered in bright-orange scales punctuated with black striped, giving Viziroth the resemblance of an Earth tiger. His calling cards are his cybernetic left arm right at the elbow, and the partially metal snout and lower jaw an inch past the middle of his bridge accidents in a monofilament lash sparring session in his younger years. Viziroth's face is narrower, slimming further down his snout. Viziroth's eyes are light amber, and sometimes hard to distinguish from his scale color.
Personality: Viziroth is an odd mix of ambition tempered by wary restraint, two contradictions of each other that somehow intertwine and work together. He did used to be an eager Vastaran soldier, but his training accident instilled in him the truth that anything could go wrong at any time, and mistakes could cost your an arm, a leg, your life... or your empire. He is reminded of this truth by the cold cybernetic nostrils on his snout that he has to look at every minute of every day; he could've made a good SHADE soldier at one point. This philosophy helped him climb through the ranks to and become a Vastaran general.
Weapons: Even a general likes to keep armed, and Viziroth is no exception. In his cybernetic arm is a built-in Microwave Emitter, a nasty surprise for anyone that gets too close. Within it is also a MFM unit. Depending if he's on a ship or not, he'll carry grenades, but he usually does have a heavy Electro-Proton Rifle. Viziroth also carries a monofilament lash.
Home planet: Formerly Vastarus Beta, the Unicus Machina
What side you are fighting for: The Vastaran Empire
Other: So, um, "official" command of the Vastaran army. I'll just take Wendigo's route.
Vehicles, infantry, and weapons your faction uses: Viziroth's typical command is an expeditionary force consisting of his flagship Vindiciae, a Vorax Invasion Carrier, and everything it's capable of carrying: 10000 Vastaran soldiers, including 20 Esurientis, 250 Ω dropships, 300 λ fighters, and 150 ENMAC artillery cannons.
Soldier customization: Most common weapon used is the Electro-Proton Rifle; other weapons seen in the field may include heavy or common Microwave Emitters. Specialists may carry Ash Throwers, IARs, or Neutronian Anti-Weapons. Petrifying AP grenades and microwave pulse grenades are common in equal amounts, and experienced troopers that dare to bring a monofilament lash into battle usually know how to use them.
Wendigo:
Name: Razaryth Witiku Praetor
Screenname: Wendigo
Age: Approximately 3,678 (Earth) years.
Gender: Male
Looks: Razaryth is built like a wire, having a taut, lean, and powerful build even for a Vastaran.. Standing 10'11", he is tall for his race, with scarlet scales striped black along his spine, and dark, voracious amber eyes that few have seen. His muscular jaws are square, his chin strong, tapering like that of a python's with five black ivory horns spiking off his head.
Personality: Razaryth is not the Supreme Commander of the S.H.A.D.E.S. for nothing. He is dictated by an iron will, an unbending and ruthless sense of duty to his people, to do whatever is necessary to return his Empire to it's former galactic glory. His reputation is legendary, and mostly speculation, but what is known is that he is extremely cunning, and he is a brutally efficient warrior and warlord.
Weapons/Gadgets: 1 TNMR- 7 clips, Monofilament Lash, Gauntlet-mounted IAR, 4 Petrifying Anti-Personnel grenades, 4 Microwave grenades. Modified S.H.A.D.E. armor, equipped with a MFM.
Home planet: (Previously) Vastarus Beta; Novus Domus
What side you are fighting for: The Vastaran race.
Other: Technically, Razaryth has command over the whole Vastaran force, but for the sake of time I'm only going to have him commanding 1 S.H.A.D.E. Battle Cruiser and whatever it can carry, most of the time.
Vehicles, infantry, and weapons your faction uses:
1 S.H.A.D.E. Battle Cruiser- 100 S.H.A.D.E. Fighters- 1 Cohort, (4,000, including himself), S.H.A.D.E.S., 125 AERIAL Ω-118 Dropships, 300 technicians and staff, 200 ENMAC.
4,000 TMNR, 1,000 Ash Throwers, 1,000 N. Anti-Weapons, 600 I.A.R., 3,000 Microwave Emitters, 1,000 Electro-Proton Rifles, 10,000 P.A.P. Grenades, 10,000 M.P.G.'s. + Munitions.
Soldier customization: Every S.H.A.D.E.S. under Razaryth's command is equipped with a TMNR and at least five, 50 round magazines, 4 M.P.G.s/P.A.P.G's, and standard S.H.A.D.E. armor. One out of every four S.H.A.D.E.S. are equipped with an Ash Thrower, and the rest carry Microwave Emitters or Electro-Proton Rifles as a secondary weapon. On less stealthy missions, some will undoubtedly wield IAR's and/or neutronian Anti-Weapons as well.
Name: Yasuda 'The Jonin' Sulu Katsurou
Screenname: Wendigo
Age: 46 years.
Gender: M
Traits: Yasuda (who never uses his real name), is a stony mountain of man, standing 8',9" tall and weighing a hefty 138 kilograms. He has dark, angled eyes like chips of flint set deep in an almost lunar face that's been carved and scorched with scars. The Jonin is physically enhanced with subdermal nanofiber ligaments that connect to micromotors in his joints, and his left forearm has been hollowed of flesh to house a modular toolbox. Operated with both a primitive neural uplink and a holographic HUD projected from a port in his wrist, this device allows him to directly hack enemy systems and is also equipped with a laser tracer, detective scanners, plastic-explosive tracking beacons, and taser. The taser is unique in the fact that it can electrocute opponents that grapple him, using his implanted ligaments as a conduit, but like all things, this device needs power to operate. At minimum use, the modular toolbox has a 72 hour battery life, but both the taser and laser-tracer are power expensive. His shins have been similarly hollowed to house hydraulic implants, giving him super-human maneuverability. However, his most important cybernetic enhancement is also the least obvious, an electro-sensory integration system implanted under the tongue, behind the jaw. This system enhances his natural senses and allows the Jonin to feel electrical impulses in his environment, much like a hammerhead shark.
Faction: The (FABULOUS) Aglitan Federation.
Rank-Class: Major-Cyborg Shock Trooper
Equipment: Personalized Aglitan Jumpjet armor, modular toolbox, {taser, laser tracer, detective scanners, hacking hardware, plastic-explosive tracking beacons}, Inferno rifle with select-fire capability, a 5 ft tungsten-carbide katana, and his signature modified SHMP. In its fully automatic setting, his Inferno has a slightly limited range, and is much more prone to overheating, repeatedly spitting bolts of plasma. But, the Jonin's favorite weapon is easily his shotgun, equipped with "Big Baby" 4 gauge fission slugs. Upon impact, a secondary propellant fires a ring of Uranium onto a hollow peg of the same material, (Operating exactly like a miniature Little Boy A-bomb). The result is a highly lethal, localized nuclear detonation that can tear a heavy infantryman to pieces.
Home-world: Aglita
Other: Wendigo's new and improved character form.
Name: Sachiko Itsumi Katsurou
Screenname: Wendigo
Age: 21 years.
Gender: Female
Traits: Sachiko is tall for a human, but short for a Shadow at 6',2" tall with a slender and fit build. Her almond-shaped eyes are a startling blue, Sachiko's ink black hair is cut short with long, spiked bangs, giving her a deceivingly cute, tomboyish appearance that disguises a ruthless and calculating attitude, instilled by her training. Unlike most other Shadows, she was indoctrinated from another culture at an early age, but her youth allowed her to be easily molded into a fast and furious killing machine, loyal only to the USD. She still holds a deep emotional grudge against the Aglitans, (mainly her father), for her perceived abandonment at the age of 5, but she doesn't fully remember her past from years of hiding it rather than confronting it.
Faction: The United Shadow Directorate.
Rank-Class: Staff Sergeant - Spirit
Equipment: Sachiko wears standard Spirit armor and never leaves the barracks without her custom explosive-weighted shuriken. She also wields a pair of wakizashi, and a modular Reaper.
Homeworld: Aglitas/Epsilon-Eridani
Other: Yasuda 'The Jonin' Katsurou's 'dead' daughter, lost during a trip back from visiting Earth. The ship was attacked by pirates, and Sachiko was separated from her mother in the confusion, who was forced to leave in an escape pod. The pirates took Sachiko prisoner among a few other girls to use as ransom, but before they could act on their plans, they were attacked by a passing Shadow patrol. The other girls were killed in the firefight, but Sachiko stabbed a pirate in the back with a shard of glass, showing a warriors mentality. The Shadows took her aboard their ship and the rest as they say is history.
Name: Chitus Sythorix
Screenname: Wendigo
Age: 153 Earth years.
Gender: Male
Traits: Chitus is built like the average Locust, standing 8',6" tall and weighing 410 lbs, surprisingly light considering his bulky-looking natural armor. His head is constructed similarly to a mantid's with a powerful set of mandibles, and a large pair of sharp compound eyes. Chitus has a dark gray coloration, similar to moon dust with less reflective properties.
Faction: The V.I.S./S.H.A.D.E.S.
Rank-Class: Mineral Separation Forge Operator
Equipment: Chitus doesn't have any gadgets, but he does operate a small robotic space station that separates base minerals from any unwanted impurities, gathered by other Locust in the asteroid cluster. It does this by first grinding material into manageable portions, then slowly heating the minerals in a turbine, using centrifugal force to sift out the various components.

Moonfur333
Name: Dakota McKinley
Screenname: Moonfur333
Species: Human
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Personality: Dakota is an interesting character. She rarely is found outside of the hangar, as she enjoys helping the Maintenance guys fix the aircraft. She's funny and nice, but can be shy when meeting new people. She often acts younger than her age, but when it comes down to the battlefield she definitely knows her stuff.
Looks: Dakota has black hair that comes down to just below her shoulders and a slender body, with green eyes and long limbs. Her skin is a little pale from being behind a windshield half of the time. As an unusual quirk she wears a bright red scarf with her regular pilot gear when going into battle.
Type of soldier: Pilot, mechanic, combat engineer.
Weapons: NVGs, Laser Pistol, a combat knife, and any air/spacecraft she is currently flying. She is an expert at flying LARCs, Eagles, and SAFDS, but is qualified in almost every aircraft/spacecraft.
Home planet: Huliotyop.
Faction: Coalition.
Other: Revised from the original version. Less sharks this time. xP (But more scarves)
Name: Demitri Ivanov
Screenname: Moonfur333
Species: Human
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Personality: Demitri is quiet and observant, the type to sit in the shadows and watch people rather than join in. He's practically void of emotion rather than his job. In battle, however, he takes a strange joy in stalking. He toys with his prey like a cat, up until the moment he kills them. A silent, stone cold killer.
Looks: Demitri is a fairly average human male, with a height of 5'9 and a weight of 135 lbs. He has dark brown hair that isn't long but isn't short either. Its generally choppy and messed up, but he doesn't care. No one ever sees his face anyway. He has very pale blue eyes. Demitri always wears a set of black armor made entirely of carbon nanotubes, with a black trenchcoat over it. His armor also has a helmet which can retract and fold into his collar at will. The helmet is similar to the EVA variant from Halo, with a wide visor that covers the whole face. It looks like solid black metal on the outside. The only part of his armor that's not black is the white half-skull design etched into his visor which resembles a set of demonic jaws. The armor is only light but is nearly silent when moving.
Type of soldier: Scout/Spy/Assassin for hire. In his spare time he collects bounties.
Weapons: Dual silenced laser pistols, a set of throwing knifes, and a datapad-knife which functions as a USB drive for hacking and data transfer and is also a stabby weapon.
Home planet: Earth.
Faction: Whoever pays him the most.
Other: N/a.
Name: Falco Valentine
Screenname: Moonfur333
Species: Human
Age: 33
Gender: Male
Personality: Falco is first and foremost, a soldier. Everyone can see that in him. Disciplined, loyal, and obedient are probably the words you'll get if you ask someone what he's like. He does have his own personality though, it just tends to be overlooked. For instance, he's a good planner though not necessarily a good leader. He tends to focus more on a few little things and do them well rather than focusing on everything. He's always calm and cool-headed. He's smart but not really quick to think. In a social setting he tends to be the quiet one who listens and only takes part in the conversation a few times, but every time he speaks, he's worth listening to.
Looks: Falco has tanned skin and blonde hair that he keeps cut short and precisely to regulation. He's bulky and packs a lot of muscle. His eyes are steel gray, and he has a squared jaw-line. Think GI-Joe. Just a bit less... gung-ho about everything.
Type of soldier: Commando
Weapons: Laser Blaster, Silenced Laser Pistol, Combat Knife. Also carries NVGs, a Grenade Launcher, and an Airstrike Marker.
Home planet: Earth
Faction: Coalition
Other: N/a
Name: (Major) Eiko Darza
Screenname: Moonfur333
Species: Human (Veritan)
Age: 38
Gender: Male
Personality: Eiko isn't a huge talker but a good listener and commander. He is serious and by-the-book, with little tolerance for nonsense. He is honest and straightforward, and he despises those who are not. He doesn't appreciate the bureaucracy but is a true king's man, with his loyalty to the royal family accounting for his rank and the way he attained it (which is classified). As an ex-Stormtrooper, he is highly trained in urban combat, protective duties, and defensive warfare. In fact, he is one of the leading Champions in all of those roles. He is also elite in all other roles, but this is just the standard for Champions. He is a tactful and careful leader, with genuine care for his troops above all else- save the objective.
Looks: Eiko has tanned skin, dark brown (almost black) hair, and dark eyes. Eiko is 5'11" and has more muscle than most. He has almond-shaped eyes and a fairly flat facial features. He's fairly unremarkable in Veritan standards and wouldn't stand out in a crowd, save for his height.
Type of soldier: Champion
Weapons: Mission-dependant. Usually a LUNR Carbine or SHMP Shotgun, silenced pistol for secondary. He has a ceremonial sword as well, but unlike the standard issue ones, his is a family inheritance, a Wakizashi sword made of a tungsten-titanium alloy. He wears Nyx armor with an added wrist-pad that gives him the ability to interface with nearby electronics to do things like boost communication range, hack terminals, control drones, and other mayhem. He also has an airstike marker, three flashbang grenades, and two AT grenades.
Home planet: Taranova
Faction: Veritan Empire (VPA)
Other: Lady/Rear Admiral Rya Derali considers Major Darza a dependable friend and a good advisor. Eiko is in charge of the Champion group aboard the VSN Malacca.
Name: (Princess)(Rear Admiral) Rya Derali
Screenname: Moonfur333
Species: Human (Veritan)
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Looks: Rya is somewhat pretty but not stunning. She is lean and somewhat short at 5'8", with black hair tied in a bun with longer bangs in the front. She has blue eyes and skin that is paler than most Veritans but still slightly tanner than most Coalition humans. She tries to play down her royalty by wearing little jewelry, which scandalizes many of the nobles who insist on wearing rings and crowns and the like. In battle, however, she wears an ornate version of the Juno armor, with her rank adequately shown by the crest on her helmet, her half-cape (like Boba Fett), and command skirt.
Personality: Rya is independent above all else, which angered her advisors at home (read: people seeking to manipulate her position for their own gain) to the point where she decided to leave all the political scheming and enter the military. There she rose fast as a cunning leader, where her skill at rallying the people and commanding them was proven. The morale in her forces is considerably higher than in most Veritan armies for good reason. Rya is straightforward and honest but with room for humor. She doesn't show it off often, but she is actually very smart and uses the illusion most people have of her as the naive, dumb little girl to her advantage.
Weapons: Laser pistol, ceremonial sword. As a side note, her sword is more highly decorated than most because it is not a soldier's sword, but a sword of the nobility. When in combat she uses the above with an added Juno armor and a second laser pistol.
Home planet: Taranova
What side you are fighting for: Veritan Empire (VSN)
Other: Rya is the daughter of the Emperor's third son, which confers on her the title of Princess and a spot in the nobility, but doesn't make a strong claim for the throne. She considers Major Eiko Darza a good friend and ally, and as such they work closely together.
Vehicles, infantry, and weapons your faction uses: Rya has command of her ship, the VSN Malacca and the expeditionary force attached to it. The main force numbers 200,000 men and includes armored brigades, infantry units of all kinds and tank brigades. In addition to the main force, Rya also commands Champion squadron 12, numbering 50 men, and Dragoon squadrons 21, 33, and 76, numbering 210 men total (3 groups of 70). She is also in control of 3,000 V9 Ryka Fighters. The ship itself is a Kulikova-class battleship. It tends to operate indepentently of the fleets as a scouting/response vessel.
Soldier customization: All standard infantry carry SOLR rifles and Juno armor. Scouts and Dragoons carry LUNR carbines and Iris armor. Dragoons also use J7 Martel assault bikes. Ssnipers carry ssniper rifles and Nyx armor with cloaking device. Heavy infantry carry Ares suits and LMGs and AT launchers. KHAN units use KHAN armor and have the standard armament that comes on their armor. Champions use LUNR rifles, Nyx armor, and requisition whatever else they need. Infantry forces are supported by D2 Hesta tanks, PTTs, SMP Dropships, G4 Barikla APCs, V9 Rykas, and AI Walkers.
