SilenceSilence is truly hard to come by. The pitter-patter of noise rains upon the waters of Silence. Little water-bugs hover, beating their wings to the hum of power lines. I look deep into the lake. The night looks back. In Silence’s blurred reflection I hear my parents’ voices in the next room, I hear the occasional car driving by my house, I hear my grandmother’s footsteps in the hallway, and I hear the creaking of doors as someone checks if I’m asleep. I run my fingertips through the water. It sounds like static. I’m not terribly used to silence, so I fill it up with noise. A lullaby of electric signals as I lower myself into the water, under the water. I dream. But even as I dream I hear the current of Silence swirling around my head, like an underwater breeze caressing my arm or something. Bzzz…zzz…When I open my eyes, I identify the noise as faulty wiring. The light bulbs installed into the ceiling flicker and buzz a low electric hum. I stand at the entry, a threshold between the dark void behind me and the dimly lit room in front of me. The room was more long than it was wide, so it actually appeared as if I were stepping into a hallway from one of its branching rooms. The walls were painted a pale yellow-tan color—but now that I think about it, perhaps the yellow lighting was skewing my perception, and the walls were in fact white. It’s hard to tell what is true, but when you’re the only one who can tell True from False… I suppose it doesn’t matter. I’m still. The ceiling is suffocatingly low. I don’t mind it. I survey the room: a round table for one beside the wall with a plastic stool. Behind both of those stands a tall and thin plant, a long stem with leaves hanging from it. I don’t know whom this room was for, I don’t know where I am, and I don’t know where I came from—common dream things, right? But I do know one thing: I am here for a reason. I have a sense of purpose, a kind of drive. I need to find something. I need to progress. I need to complete a task. The humming of electricity calls to me: This is a story, and you must seek its ending. Pursue it fervently, for you need nothing more than what is right here in front of you. I take a step back, considering to throw myself off the map. I can return to Silence if I just close my eyes and grasp the metal wire, become one with the electrons and let the water conduct me back to the surface.

Oh wow, that was very intriguing. I really love symbolism, and dreams.
Dreams are stories, aren't they? Stories our brains make up all the time, and we personally get to take part in them.
If we so choose.
This reminded me of a nightmare I had where I fought to wake myself up because it felt so real. It literally felt like trying to swim to the surface of water.
So wow, nice work!!

This is cool! It's alright if I post mostly poetry/essays here, right? I notice most of the writing here is prose fiction.... My prose fiction writing isn't the best, but I can work on it here. Hi everyone! Flameswirl JACOB I THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO DIE. BUT HE IS TOO COOL FOR DEATH, APPARENTLY. I love the action in "Running from the Past"! It's paced nicely and exciting to read, and I really care about your characters. One thing that made me a little uncomfy was some of the comma usage (or lack of it) and the lack of line breaks; the giant chunks of unspaced dialogue/description are pretty daunting to look at. It's just a formatting preference, though. I like your writing. Thank you so much! It’s awesome that you liked the story (As I said before I’m a young writer) and that’s amazing feedback! I’ll try and edit the story as good as I can, I’m sure my family can help me as well but thanks I really appreciate it!

Thank you!! That was a dream I had a couple nights ago. To be honest, the best way to describe the feeling of that dream would be a video game; there was something there I had to trigger in order to advance onward. But the word "video game" didn't seem the most appropriate to use in a such a serious-sounding piece, so I went for the "call of the static" instead.
Seriously though. Dreams provide such good inspiration for stories. I keep the dreams that I remember written down somewhere, and I look back often for ideas.

This sounds great! I'm gonna post an excerpt.
Wings of Silence
Destroyer watched in horror as the war began in the blink of an eye. Clashing, roaring. He joined the battle with instinct and came across a Skywing, snarling. He closed his eyes briefly, afraid, but when he opened his eyes, everyone was running in terror. What? He spread his wings, preparing for flight. He glanced back, hearing something, and a tsunami was towering behind him. He left, and all he heard was silence, covering him like a blanket. He flew faster, hearing his Kingdom, his home, crash down. Dead Nightwings were everywhere, some still breathing but too exhausted to get up. There was no hope for them. First, the Sandwing Kingdom collapsed, then the Skywing Kingdom, and he veered over to the side. He didn't want to be chased into the Icewing kingdom. Sceaming, screaming everywhere. It filled his ears, his head, his whole body. He shuddered hard, and started to lose balance. He screeched as he veered into Jade Mountain. I'm going to die. It's over. I'll die alone, as all of Pyrrhia. He shut his eyes as a horrifying pain filled his body. (I write much happier stories than this.)

Aight so this is a tiny little thing I wrote last night, just cause the cute idea popped into my head while listening to a song. I'm obsessed with writing romance *shrugs* Warning: it's extremely fluffy and sweet and also very gay ”Hey, Chris?” came Finn’s soft voice, interrupting the comfortable silence shared between them.
”Yeah?”
”How long will you love me?”
Christopher was silent for a moment. Then, with the hand that wasn’t currently holding Finn’s, he pointed up towards the night sky that surrounded them.
”As long as the stars are above you.”
Finn pouted.
”So when morning comes, you’ll stop?”
”No, silly.” Chris chuckled. ”You know the stars will always be there. Just like my love for you.”
Finn grinned; that was the answer he wanted to hear. He rolled closer to Chris’s side and pecked him on the cheek.
”I’m glad.”

Yeah, Peridot's piece was pretty intense. Especially that line, "Sceaming, screaming everywhere. It filled his ears, his head, his whole body." Was that in the Wings of Dragons universe?
BOOP. THAT WAS ADORABLE. THAT WAS SO CUTE I'M DYING AAAHHH

(I'll also put something sappy before the events of what I wrote.) Destroyer looked at the Nightwing in front of him. "I have something to confess," He told her. Shadowbringer met his gaze, and asked, "What?" There was silence. "I..I, know we've been friends since we were hatched. We hatched together. I've... really liked you since then." Shadowkeeper seemed to know what was happening. She seemed to accept before he said it. "Do you love me?" Silence. More Silence. Then, "Of course." Destroyer's heart raced. She really did love him! "How could you not have seen the signs? I loved you the moment I laid eyes on you, Destroyer. Well, despite your name." She chuckled, and Destroyer had never felt like this before. Love. Love is the answer to my anxiety. Love is all I need, especially since it's Shadowkeeper who's loving me.

Here's my most recent writing thing. I roleplay Reapertale Sans (an Undertale AU where Sans is the god of death) on Tumblr and the Frisk I roleplay with came up with an angsty headcanon about Frisk dying of old age and Sans coming to take their soul. So, this is what I wrote about it. I'm pretty proud of it, tbh~
Their life had been a long one. Something that Reaper was thankful for. But there was the fact that their inevitable death was only getting closer as they aged, giving him yet another reason to despise what he represented and what he had to do. He was sure to watch over them whenever he had free time, watching them grow up. Usually, he’d never let himself get personal with humans of all beings, but Holly was different somehow. They’d definitely wormed their way into his soul and he’d let them in without much of a struggle. That had proved to be one of the best decisions of his existence, other than befriending the goddess of Life.
Despite Papyrus wanting to be the one to take this soul on the journey to the afterlife, Reaper had assured him that this soul was meant for him. He made sure not to reveal too much, other than the essentials; their age, location, and upcoming time of death. His brother ended up letting him go without a word of protest and a smile. Maybe he knew, like how he’d known about him visiting Toriel? Eh, probably not…
So, here he was now, standing in the doorway of their room. Everything was quiet, but it was a peaceful type of quiet. Moonlight flowed in through the windows as he lightly knocked on the open door, a smile on his face.
“Heya, Holls.”
Upon hearing the familiar deep voice, Holly’s eyes slowly opened and they looked towards the doorway. A smile instantly formed as they recognized the figure, giving him a weak wave in greeting.
“H-Hi… good to see you.”
Reaper’s smile softened as he walked up to their bedside, bringing his hood down before saying, “You know why I’m here now, do you?”
It took them a few moments, but they finally realized why he was here. It wasn’t just a usual visit this time. A frown replaced their smile as a result and they switched their gaze to the window, looking out of it with a reflective expression. They’d only been getting older and it’d been getting harder to get around their home lately, so they were bed-bound now. The weakness that was prevalent in their body had gotten more and more apparent too. Were they really… dying? Why else would Reaper be here so late at night, anyway.
They ultimately took a deep breath before looking back up at the god, the smile back on their face.
“Yes, I do,” was their simple answer.
Reaper gave a nod before holding out a hand to them. “I know the stereotypical thing would be for me to use my scythe, but… that doesn’t feel right with you,” he said with a shrug. “So, why don’t you just take my hand instead.”
Looking down at his hand, the smile still on their face, they reached up their own hand and gently grabbed a hold of his. It felt just like Sans’ hand, but colder.
“You’ll be fine, I promise…” he whispered as their eyes closed and he helped ease them back down on the bed with his free hand. He kept holding their hand for a bit longer before letting out a shaky sigh and reluctantly letting go. All that was left to do now was to collect their soul.
Soon enough, the glowing red heart floated up from their chest. Now this, he’d better use the scythe for. Summoning the weapon, he held it up with both hands, unaware that they were shaking before sending the curved blade through the heart-shaped soul. It then disappeared, on its way to the afterlife.
Tears were now running freely down his cheekbones. The scythe vanished and he lifted his hood over his head. With everything done and taken care of, he was free to go.
“I’ll see you around, kid…”

Boop! I have strarted writing a vampire piece! Eugh it's been so long ! It's about a group of collage students, coming home from a party. There all tired and one of them knows a shortcut BUT it's through a graveyard (You get were I'm going don't you?) you get the whole vampire bat thing, it bites one of them but they all think it's just a normal bat. Then she starts showing signs of being a vampire. Being burnt by the sun in a few seconds, meat going missing from the fridge...it goes on from there. I think I'm going to make a few stories but they are only going to be short.
