Pinepaw felt uneasy around Boulderfang as well so when he was moved to the middle of the patrol with Sagepaw he was actually thankful. However hateful they were towards each other, they at least shared one thing in common. "She's crazy, isn't she?" he muttered to his fellow apprentice. |

As the patrol began to get a decent ways away from camp, the black warrior began checking for unusual scents occasionally. "Check everything carefully. Eyes wide and ears pricked up. Nose smelling for everything." She was talking to herself again

He didn't want to agree with Pinepaw but knew it was true. He also didn't want to be in trouble with Badgerclaw which to him felt like he was breathing down his back.

Badgerclaw wasn't exactly paying attention to the apprentices. He was more focused on trying to sniff out any sign of predators or enemy rogues crossing their borders. Once he smelled something that could've been stale fox he called ahead to Boulderfang. "Stale fox scent. Heading off, continue on. I'll catch up."
Pinepaw ;;
Pinepaw didn't exactly like Badgerclaw - what not with him being so strict on apprentices and any warriors younger than him - but he would pick being alone with him over Boulderfang any day. He wasn't really alone, though, but he might as well be. Sagepaw wouldn't willingly talk to him in a million years. Sighing, he let his tail hang, just barely touching the ground, and looked up through the barren treetops at the overcast sky. "I hope it doesn't snow. We really do not need that right now." |

Pinepaw was shocked, to say the least, that the fellow apprentice called him over. He knew very well that he shouldn't leave Boulderfang alone or leave without telling her but it was very tempting. The smokey blue tom contemplated between staying with the odd she-cat or going with his archenemy for a moments before deciding on the latter and padding over to Sagepaw silently. "What?" he whispered.

Sagepaw took a deep breath before looking at the fellow apprentice. "I think we should go after Badgerclaw, he might be face to face right now with a fox! And from what I heard foxes aren't easy creatures to defeat by yourself," he quietly spoke. His eyes once in awhile darting to Boulderfang before back to meet Pinepaw's eyes. Trying to figure out how the other tom is feeling about this idea.

At least I won't be the only one in trouble if we get caught, he silently told himself as he padded out into a clearing. He flicked his ears and eyed the different options of paths they could take. "Which way do you think?" He questioned.

Boulderfang only gave a nod to the older warrior when he said that he smelt stale fox. 'With his experience,' she thought, 'it shouldn't take long.'
Taking a few more steps she then decided, "We'd better continue but stay close to here incase there is trouble."
The poor yet odd warrior had been completely oblivious that she was soon to be left alone.
