p. 87 If I had started reading Junji Ito* just a week or so earlier than I did, this would totally have been a reference to The Bully. But there was no way I was going to draw this dog any more times than I had to. *Before you go looking up that name, he's a horror mangaka, so be careful of images you might not want to see. I didn't want the black and white cats thing, but too bad, I chose a real cat who was all white. I did, however, intentionally give them the same eye color, as a shoutout to Varjak and Jalal the Paw.
I don't think Fang really had a noticeable scar there.

p. 91 I had a lot of fun coloring the ghost. Scourge's coloration is of course just plain canon Scourge, but I also tried to make him look kind of like my cat Billy. Billy: (We don't let him outside unsupervised, but sometimes he gets to come out into the yard with us.) Bonus, wild strawberries growing in my backyard: |
