Auelius's whiskers twitched. It was a fun thought to roll about in his head. No doubt, it would go sour in a couple of days. A constant presence of cats seemed to sedate the beasts. Plus, there would be plenty of trainees just laying around. Young cats with nothing to do was almost as dangerous as monsters. "It would be a sight-" The tom's ear twitched. He could have sworn to have heard something move. The sound was like a step, but heaver than a normal cat's pawstep. Aurelius slowly rose to his paws. Every muscle under his golden pelt was tensed as he took up a stance. His amber eyes flicked back and forth, trying to shift through the dim for a shape. His tail swished back and forth. (I think we should have the monster released now. If you want, you can decide the monster in your post. ) FELIX || Underneath the Colosseum || zero Felix froze as Aurelius stopped mid-sentence, his ears automatically swivelling slightly towards the source of the tom's worry. He heard the footsteps almost immediately, concern building up in his chest - that was no cat coming towards them. They seemed to be speeding up as they came towards the cats, and he felt that he could hear a pattern of four regular footsteps, meaning that it couldn't be a cyclops or any other monster that travelled on two legs. No, this was something else, something that seemed even more dangerous. How the monster had escaped its prison, he didn't know - but now was not the time to be worrying about that.
Felix's muscles tensed as the monster came closer and closer, his eyes straining to spot any detail in the darkness that would alert the two cats to the danger coming towards them. He was ready to transform into cheetah at a moment's notice, though unwilling to do so if it wasn't needed. The monster slowly came into sight, its sharp talons and beak revealing themselves before its massive wings followed. Its beady eyes looked at the two guards in front of it, its beak opening to let out a screech. Felix's heart dropped as his body instinctively transformed into that of a cheetah's - it was a griffin.

Aurelius was more trigger happy than the other tom. As soon as the creature started it's charge, thick, golden fur started sprouting from his flank and his growl grew deep. A male lion stood were Aurelius use to stand and roared. This did not slow down the beast. It let put a challenging screech seeing two strong opponents. Aurelius's instincts told the tom to surge forward and protect the tom next to him. The griffin reared up, causing the tom to duck so the sharp talons would only brush against his main. A swipe narrowly missed the beast's golden belly but did give the toms some room.
Aurelius backed up. As much as it hurt to admit this, the two of them could not defeat the monster. A lion was one of the largest big cats in the legion, yet Aurelius's head would barely touch the griffin's shoulder. Those sharp, beady eyes told the tom this was a last ditch effort to get out. The proud griffin would fight with all of its strength to escape the humiliating confides of a cell. Aurelius almost felt sorry for the creature. Almost. "We need others." He growled out. He moved to block the griffin for getting past. With the tight corridors, the creature's wings were useless. They needed to remain so, if this was to be a remotely fair fight.

FELIX || Underneath the Colosseum || zero Out of all the monsters that they held down under the Colosseum, a griffin was one of the most formidable. Plus, Felix could tell that it was desperate to escape, and desperation could make monsters even more dangerous than they already were. In their big cat forms, Felix felt slightly more comfortable in their abilities than they had before, but Aurelius was right: they needed backup, "I can run and alert more of the guard, fighters too if I can find them." he replied, growling at the monster as it dared to come closer. The griffin might be strong, but he was fast. Plus the monster's lack of knowledge about the many corridors below the Colosseum would hopefully slow it down. He was reluctant to leave Aurelius on his own, however, knowing the dangers of fighting a monster one-on-one. But he wasn't sure if they had a choice.

Aurelius leaped out of the way as a set of talons swung down towards his head. His side met with the stone wall and he winced. In all honesty, it was his pride which was bruised the most. With a roar, he reared up on two legs and swiped at the beast with massive claws. It was a featherbrain move, once which left him too open. Talon met with flesh. Aurelius bared his teeth and retreated a couple of feet. His flank pulsed as blood slowly stained his fur crimson.
"Are you waiting for an order? Go!" Aurelius said, seeing Felix's spotted pelt still near. Sure, they could both make a stand here, but then there would be two dead cats and an oblivious legion. Dying didn't settle well with the tom, but it was better than having the legion die with him.
(Silver; your cat could find Felix/Aurelius or just hear something while being close to the coliseum. )

FELIX || Colosseum || zero , Venom Felix dodged another attack from the griffin before turning and running, his long legs and streamlined figure quickly picking up speed as he sped along the corridors. He quickly emerged from the rows of cells into the daylight, his eyes quickly blinking as they adjusted to the bright light of the outdoors. He could see several cats nearby - guards and fighters alike - and called out hurriedly to them, "Quick. We need backup. A griffin's escaped." He didn't bother embellishing anymore - the cats shouldn't need any further prompting. He could already see many of them getting to their feet and starting to transform, and he gestured for them to follow him with his tail.
LUKAS || Colosseum || Lukas' head shot up at Felix's alert, and he immediately got to his feet, his body already starting to grow bigger and his long-haired red coat transforming into the tan, short-haired pelt of a cougar. He followed the tom into the darkness leading to the cells underneath the Colosseum, his body already prepared for a fight as he let out a fierce growl that echoed along the corridors.

The fight was...not going well. Pain radiated from every part of Aurelius's body. His breath became labored and movements grew sluggish. Moving became a battle for his mind as well. Aurelius didn't have the time to feel disappointed in himself. He didn't even have time to think. He was only buying time at this point as he futilely dodged sharp talons. The tom attempted to duck and was rewarded with a nick above his eye.
Blood clouded his vision. He roared and shook his main in weak attempts to keep the beast's attention away from the noise. He could hear the pawsteps of others. Cats who would help. However, Aurelius could also hear the sound of the monster slowly fading away. Griffin's were proud beasts, but no doubt, they were also smart. The griffin was gone. He couldn't even say which direction it took off in.
(We could have the griffin still there. Maybe hiding in the shadows. I dunno. )
