Why don't we make conversation instead of just bumping this thread every few days with random declarations? Say you fold a pizza so the toppings are folded between the crust. What your left with counts as a sandwich.

That. . .
Is actually a good point.

Does it make you upset? It makes a lot of people upset, but I think that's a perfectly valid sandwich.

Maybe I'll make this Fact of the Day thread. Something's bound to make people upset. Then we'll actually have enough conversation here to make it to 2020.

I've been so inactive because i literally died when I got hacked on social medias ;-; it's all good now but im scared still Make sure you have varied passwords and make sure your email that you use to register is secure also. If you use the same password everywhere, you're pretty much asking to get hacked. Also use 2FA whenever you can as well.

I’m back from Switzerland, kinda disappeared off the face of the earth for a full week and got really bad sunburn Sucks to be badly sunburnt, but I hope you had fun. Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking? And does that mean Switzerland is not on the face of the Earth?

I’m from England. Although my accents messed up so no one ever understands what I’m saying.

Because some of the words we say are different to actual English. I guess we “modified” it 😂 www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/geordie-words-phrases-sayings-newcastle-6466922.ampAlthough my accent definitely isn’t as strong as the phrases in the Arctic above. In fact I don’t think people say many of them now. Ones I say are: radgie, howay man, wey aye (or I say “wey like”), belta, hoy, bait, canny, spelk, an’all, fettle. There’s probably more but I cbb to find them.

Huh, that's interesting. Makes sense though. I'm from the United States, so neither standard England-English nor your English would probably make total sense to me. Would you call that an English dialect?

Would you call that an English dialect? Oh cool! But to be honest, some American English doesn’t really make sense to me. I can grasp some of it, but if I went to America, I think people would be more clueless of my accent. Yes definitely! Geordie’s one of the oldest English dialects still spoken, mostly only in the northern parts of England. The southern have the posher accents, I presume, and most of the British stereotypes come from there. (The posh accents for example)

I've heard that before, about most stereotypes coming from southern England. I wonder why... Maybe more tourists are around the southern half. Because France is (probably) more popular than Wales, Ireland, and Scotland combined.

Because France is (probably) more popular than Wales, Ireland, and Scotland combined. I presume it’s because London is in the southern half and a lot of tourists visit there. It’s a bit annoying because with the posh stereotype, people expect us to have the the same accent all around the UK, it feels like.

That's a weird stereotype. I imagine that there exist regional dialects in every country, so I wonder why the stereotype only applies to England -- unless it doesn't and I'm being stupid.

Maybe it’s because one accent is more dominant than the rest, so people think that that accent is all people speak in that country. But that’s stupid since barely anyone speaks posh in England. Thats quite a lot of accents for an island.
