Rustle would wake up to find nothing.
His collar destroyed.
His food bowl empty.
His squeaking mouse missing.
His housefolk gone.
He’d search frantically around his housefolks nest, but there was nothing. He’d call out for help, but there was nobody to listen. He’d swiftly run out the cat door, to look outside.
Nothing.
“Where did they go!” He cried, as his eyes searched the yard.
“They left me!” He yowled once more, hoping for response as he hopped onto the fence.
He’d stare into the forest.
It was silent.
The trees swayed slightly, but they always did that.
“What happened!?” He cried as he threw himself over the fence and into the forest.
“Where did everyone go?!” He continued to cry, not understanding the danger he’d just put himself in.
“Right here, Kittypet.” A deep voice mewed. Rustle turned his head, but before he could look—
It all went black, and he realized, he was never alone.
