I typically don't do these things because who actually ever follows up on their promises in the new year? But, I think a few of these things I can complete, especially when it comes to my writing which all began with this community in 2013.
For 2018, I plan on continuing my work on the Clans of the Valley universe, and also it's human version, the Fate of Fire series. I am active on several sites now, and even have my own website for myself. I have sold t-shirts (with many thanks to
Dingoleap) and have gained followers on WeHeartit and Twitter and even here. Imagine what next year could look like!
Specifically, I want to finish Curse in 2018. Currently I'm on Chapter 35 out of 40 (with an epilogue included) so this is highly possible, especially given the nature of these last several chapters which have been re-playing in my head since chapter one. Writing them will feel like a huge weight off my shoulders.
With finishing Curse comes a break. A creative break from Curse characters, and maybe even the Clans of the Valley World if only to relish in my first finished project. I'd like to continue exploring the Forest of Kalmera world (which is strictly human) and also get to drafting The Tidecaller as a fan-fiction.
Sometime during this, I'd like to have a "Fallen Warrior Week". It will involve lots of contests, word sprints, and the occasional one-shot drop. (Aiming for spring break but we will see) More details will be given next month.
I'd like to work on supporting my readers more. Their work and their passions are important to me. They are the reason I enjoy writing in the first place: seeing them smile or laugh or cry or simply yell at me for killing off their favorite character. They have supported me through
years of writing. T
hey deserve free copies of my first novel.
I enjoy helping people, so I want to do that more in 2018.
Also, I'd like to continue my writing with A Tale of Snow which was recently posted. It's a big leap to finally share the Fate of Fire World in its very premature beginnings, but it will be a huge help once I begin making things permanent.
I just want to be happy in 2018. Happiness came and went too often this past year, and I think it slowed down everything I had been wanting to do, so I will start this year with a smile. (:
I raise my pens, pencils, and laptop to all of you, in honor of our continued friendship and inspiring community.
Let's make 2018 a year to remember!
