     He purred and nodded thanks to the she-cat. After her next reply, he jumped at the opportunity to start a conversation with her. "I caught this for you. I hope you like rabbit, perhaps when we get back, we could share it?" he offered, amber eyes wide with excitement. He truly did like this she-cat and while he could be a pain in the flank, he did mean well, like his former mentor. "Maybe.. we can take a walk afterwards?" Cardinalwing offered, looking up at the she-cat with soft eyes.

     He padded closer and placed the rabbit in front of her before taking a few steps back. "I'm sorry I'm late, I was roped into training and then I remembered about our walk. Blizzardstar won't be happy, neither will Badgerpaw, but I'll live.. heh.." he trailed off, looking away and fidgeting like a kit. He looked innocent and apologetic, his green eyes looked up at her in a sweetly manner. "What do you want to discuss?" His heart was pounding and the tom couldn't help but stare into her eyes. He loved her eyes; he loved her. She was such a sweet cat.
     The tom began to worry. He had been mooning over her for several moons now and the tom couldn't help but worry that maybe she noticed and wanted him to leave her alone. Maybe she noticed and found another tom and wanted to let him down gently. His mind swirled with the possibilities. It drove him mad and he grew frustrated. He took in a big breath and rose his head high. "Dandelionstem, what you have to discuss, it must wait a moment." he began, standing up and padding a bit closer. "I don't know if you've noticed, but these past few moons, well, I must admit something." he tried to get the words out, but he choked a little when he tried to admit it. Sighing once more, he closed his eyes and built up his courage again.
     "I love you, Dandelionstem. I have for a while. You're a wonderful warrior, a warrior I want by my side. I want to fight and hunt alongside you, but not just as Clanmates. I see a happy future with you and I wanted to tell you how I've felt. I can't hide it anymore and it's not fair to either of us for me to do such a thing. I know I'm not the bravest, I'm a nervous wreck that no one sees achieving anything. But you.. You give me strength to try. I have dreams for us, for our Clan and you motivate me to do better. I may not be the best tom for you, but damn it, I can surely try if you'll let me.." he confessed, looking deep into Dandelionstem's brilliant green eyes.

     Blizzardstar couldn't take her eyes off of Nightpaw. She was hunched over, claws unsheathed. Her blue eyes were wide, but her pupils were onyx slits. She overheard the young warrior and rolled her eyes up. "Badger did this. Nightpaw was sent out alone. Damn it.." she hissed, shutting her eyes tight. Her claws scraped the dirt. She was breathing heavily, furious at what the twolegplace cats had done. "If I had been more strict with my order, Nightpaw would be alive.." she groaned, throwing her head up. She stood, and started padding to Bumblesting. "Where's Chickenwing? He was the one who found her. He should be here with us." Blizzardstar quickly mewed to the warrior.

     Brambleheart padded after Dandelionstem. He stuttered and fell silence, struck with shock and grief over the loss of their medicine cat apprentice. The tom glanced around camp, listening to the angry mutters and mumblings of his Clanmates. "Why would Badger do this?" he asked absent-mindly, looking back at Nightpaw. Just moments ago, he was in the forest, celebrating his little union with Dandelonstem, but now.. Now the moment was ruined by the tragic news of the apprentice's death.
