{Lol it was about 6-7 am when you posted I'm dead, usually wouldn't be up this early but my step sister and he friends are hungover lmfao}
Nannette giggled a little, watching the boy as she nodded carefully, cocking her head to the side so her cheek was squished up against her hands. He seemed to be a little confused by her question, but she said nothing about it, leaving him to answer the question in the best way he could. Of course 'it' was exciting, the tournament, having them here, everything. Being in a new castle with so much more to explore and discover would definitely be exciting and equally enticing to her, so why not to these boys as well?
The boy sitting on the other side of the boy surprised her, both with his sudden question about the upcoming tournament and the fact he was quite taller than both her and the boy she had started talking to. Nonetheless she showed no sign of any surprise, and instead turned her gaze away and raised a finger from her curled up hands to her cheek as if thinking, furrowing her eyebrows. She thought about it a little, and as much as she wanted to focus on her studies, she loved to irritate her parents. Besides, it wasn't like she'd even get chosen, so there really was no harm in tossing her name into the Goblet.
However, before she could reply to his question, the other boy excused his question and changed the topic back on track to the tour. Nannette just smiled sweetly- She'd have to get back to him later. She nodded in agreement with him, glancing around the Great Hall- She never got tired of how it looked, "Goodness, I don't even think I've known all of it, and I've been here for seven years. We're just going to go over the bases, how to get to the main rooms and the bathrooms, and so on. The rest- Well, that's probably something to show later~" she said slyly, before removing her hands from under her face. She didn't mind showing them around some other time, but the secrets of the castle was more for a small group instead of the whole Durmstrang community. Who knows? Maybe they'd never find out.
"Oh, how rude of me. I've totally forgotten to ask what your names are," her question was directed at the happy boy and the tournament boy, of course. No way was she learning the names of the rest of the school, as much as she would love to, "I'd love to learn them, and then would you two mind being my helpers? Just encase some of your friends don't understand English to the fullest. I mean, I know how hard that is. Pretty please?~" she asked, pouting playfully at the two boys. She rather not be completely lost with the rest of the boys, and they'd probably understand them better than she did. Besides, who could resist a Hufflepuff pout?

( oh man I feel for you )
Nikolai took this as a promise, at it was one he'd hold her to. He could and would explore the castle himself, of course. It was the only reason he'd come. Everyone who was here was interested in signing up for the tournament. Those who hadn't wanted to compete had been left behind. That still left nearly two dozen boys, which was more than Igor Karkaroff had taken with him during his tournament but not nearly all the eligible ones. Nikolai was the exception to that rule. He had no intentions of competing. He was here for the castle. How he'd managed to convince old Shevchenko to let him come in spite of that, he wasn't quite sure, but he had the feeling it had something to do with his incredible ability to annoy people into doing things his way.
"I am Nikolai Ivanovich," he said with a warm smile. "Niko." It wasn't that he minded his full name, in fact, he quite liked it. He just preferred the familiarity that came with someone using a nickname of some sort. "This one is Tore." He jabbed a thumb at Tore who gave a small, unpracticed smile. He'd never been very good at polite smiles, but it was clear he was trying.
Tore wasn't so sure about this helping out thing. He had other priorities. But he didn't even need to look at Niko to know that his friend was going to say yes, they'd love to help out for no other reason but that he loved bossing the others around. You wouldn't think so, looking at him, but in his first year, he'd intimidated all his peers into accepting him as a leader. How? Even Tore didn't know. Somehow, this tiny man whom he'd never seen do anything but smile had gotten everyone else to follow him. Now, nearly six years later, that lived on. Tore knew that his friend enjoyed his unofficial position and was likely over the moon that someone had recognised it. "Yes. Help. We can do that." He looked at Tore, who said his next few words in Russian.
"I know you can get them to fall in line but will you have me do all your translations, then?" he asked, both mildly amused and exasperated. Nikolai's English was good but if the problem was getting the others to understand, it would be Tore who stepped in. Swedish was far more useful there than Russian was.
The black haired boy grinned and nodded. "Yes. And you'll do them?"
Tore sighed. There was no getting out of this. Niko would pester him until he did as asked. It would take less energy to just say yes now than to go up against him in a game of stubbornness. "Yeah, I'll do them." And then, in English again, "Let us know what you need and we'll see what can be done."

{Sorry for not getting back to you sooner ah}
Nannette nodded in greeting at the both of them, "Cute names and nicknames!~ Love them." she exclaimed, grinning at both of them. They were both being very nice to her for someone from a foreign school, especially when she spoke a language she didn't understand fully. It was obvious both of them were trying, and she really appreciated that. She was even more overjoyed when the one boy agreed to help her, and it seemed like she was pulling the other boy along with her. Once again she clasped her hands together happily, practically beaming with happiness.
She let the two talk among themselves in a language she didn't understand, but it obviously fascinated her. She loved hearing new things, even hearing her own language vs the english she heard all the time sometimes fascinated her. Going back home and then coming back to Hogwarts for the first few days always fascinated her. And it wasn't that Nannette was stupid, she just liked hearing and learning new things or things that she hadn't seen in a while. Someone who could appreciate life for what it was and live in the moment. She probably looked a little strange watching them talk with a look of awe, but she could really care quite less.
She looked at the other boy who spoke up, letting her know what to ask them when she needed something. He seemed a little... Maybe annoyed? More like he was a little uninterested. It made her feel maybe a wee bit bad for asking them to help her out but, "Thank you so much, boys~ I promise I'll treat you to a butter beer in Hogesmade, okay? My treat~" Maybe that would make up for the small inconvenience from her? She glanced over at Tore as she said so, almost as if apologizing to him, before getting to her feet. It should almost be time to go now, and that would mean she needed to get this tour started. So, once again, she walked to the front of the table.
"I'm sorry to cut your meals short if you're still eating, but we'd better get a move on so I'm not pushing you all around the castle. Alrightie?~ Just follow me!" And then, the girl practically sashayed down the aisle beside, passing the Slytherin tables as she went, and pausing at the end near the door to gesture for the group to follow them. She trusted the two boys would get them in line if they were too confused on what to do, but they seemed to be nice boys overall, so maybe she wouldn't have much trouble? Of coourse, even if she did, she'd deal with it quite easily/

"Oooh, the famous butterbeer," Nikolai said in response, still with that air of wonder over him. He could look forward to that. Exploring Hogwarts meant exploring Hogsmeade and this seemed the perfect excuse. Now he was hitting two birds with one stone. Tore was not nearly as excited, but he did give a smile, this one more genuine than the last. He wasn't entirely incompetent when it came to being social, he just didn't do it. Nannette was trying to make up for the inconvenience, who was he to refuse her that? Besides, it did sound nice.
Nannette walked away and Niko and Tore rose, as did everyone else, in near perfect unison. The boys could be a mess but there was no denying the fact that they were also a unit and an ordered one at that. Hogwarts emphasised house solidarity. Durmstrang emphasised discipline and, by extension, complete unity. You learned to pick up on signals from everyone around you, even your worst enemy, and to follow orders whether they were explicit or implied. This was not to say that Durmstrang boys were always obedient. It was far from the case. However, if they had no reason to disobey, their discipline quickly became apparent.
"I never get tired of that," Niko admitted, looking at his classmates. "It's like magic every time."
"You've seen magic," Tore pointed out as they walked, the two lines falling into clumps that chattered among themselves. Niko seemed to have decided he was not done with his conversation, or maybe he was just taking this new assignment incredibly seriously because he steered the two of them back up the line towards Nannette again, only slowing down once he was at the head of the Durmstrang party. "You do magic," Tore continued while they wove through the group of students. "Is it really as fascinating to you?" This was something they'd never been able to agree on. Tore was in awe every time someone cast a spell. Nikolai found it boring. Usually, they could understand their disagreements, but this seemed to be beyond their comprehension.
( sorry this was kinda short )

{Yah that’s like pretty much same LOL I hate asking people for post pace because most people just go based on others, which is like me too xDD Sometimes I just write more it all depends} {I HAVE AN IDEA, so like Nannette becomes friends with Tore and Niko of course over the time, and they end up daring her to toss her name into the cup for fun? And then she gets chosen 👀 which brings her and Tore closer as well. btw if you have any ideas just lemme know LOL}
Nannette watched the boys get to their fleets in true unity, letting out a small ‘Ouuuu’ and even clapping for them as they did so. It was impressive, and she didn’t really expect nothing less. Order wasn’t bad all the time, especially if it came naturally. Nannette wasn’t a ruffian, she just tried to be more herself out here, then back at home with her parents. She was still a laFlamme, after all.
She watched as the boys waded through the crowd, and their conversation didn’t seem to be one of extreme pleasantries. Motioning for the group of boys to follow her with a wave of her hands, “Alright, this way!~” then, turning, she lead them out of the Great Hall and into the hallway, trying to push past whatever conversation they seemed to be having.
The group made there way through the hall as Nannette began their little tour, leading from important parts of the castle, showing them the moving staircases, and so on. As they walked, she stepped back to walk with the boys, this time moving her attention towards Tore primarily, smiling up at the taller boy with a raised eyebrow that still held a hint of playfulness, “So, now for the important question~ Just how excited are you for the tournament?”
She knew that’s what most of them were here for, the tournament. He had even asked her when they were at the table if she was entering. Niko seemed maybe a little less enthusiastic? But he still might be. Besides, she maybe still felt a little bad about Tore being tagged along to help, so might as well see what he was interested in.

( I am definitely up for that it's exactly the sort of thing they would do lol I absolutely will! my favourite thing is brainstorming tbh so you can count on it )
The tour, surprisingly, was actually enjoyable, Tore found. Granted, Niko was practically flying around to see as much as possible while somehow managing to maintain a conversation, so, by comparison, he looked entirely unbothered, but he had to admit it was cool. The moving staircases, the paintings, the sheer size of it all. It was definitely different from what he was used to and even though it wasn't as exciting to him as Nikolai seemed to find it, it was fascinating.
The biggest difference was the size. Durmstrang castle was beautiful but small. It didn't house more than 200 people, both professors and students. The twenty-two students who'd come here were from two years and that was more than half of those who'd been eligible to come. Tore knew that there were magical schools far larger than Hogwarts, but even then Hogwarts seemed far larger to him. The feel of the place was different, too. Durmstrang was far north and in the mountains. It was cold, even indoors, and dark. Not suffocatingly so, it was cosy much of the time due to magical and non-magical lighting alike, but Hogwarts didn't have that quality to it at all. It felt far more open, a little more alive. He could understand Nikolai's fascination with it.
Nannette materialised at his side and he tore his focus away from the ceiling to rest it on her instead. He'd never been very good at focusing on two things at once. "Oh," he said, giving a small smile. "I've been waiting ever since it was announced to come here and enter." It didn't sound like much, but by his standards, this said a lot. "Even if I'm not chosen, it'll be interesting to see the tasks. It sounds like a challenge I would enjoy."
"What about you?" he questioned curiously. "How do you feel about it?" Nikolai had robbed him of his chance to figure this out before - something he had every intention of telling him off for later - so he seized his opportunity now. He didn't think that Niko would get in the way of him asking again, not unless he interrupted a conversation to do so, but one could never be sure. He'd gotten bored of hearing Tore go on about this tournament, which was perfectly understandable. Tore hadn't really talked about anything else since they left Durmstrang.

{Yassss Honestly i love head-canons, plot wise, relationship wise, anything so hit me with it if you got those ideas}
Nannette listened intensely to Tore, actually quite interested in his reason for entering the tournament. She wasn't even disappointed when he gave her his reasoning, nodding in agreement, "I totally agree. It's kind of like... A once in a life time experience, and experiencing it in any way possible is the goal, oui?" she didn't even catch her slip of tongue before it came out of her mouth, but the small blonde continued on to his own question. Would he even understand the simple word yes in French? Who knows. Would it still catch him off guard? Probably.
How did she feel about it? "Well, I'm definitely excited," That was one thing she was definitely, "but I'm still not quite sure if I'll be entering, you know? It's the last year, gotta keep my grades top notch~ But other then that, I think it's extremely fascinating and exciting to have the tournament. New challenges, new events, plus two new schools with a bunch of new people to know and learn about!~ Especially when it's a school such as yours." she added with a small giggle, folding her hands behind her back and grinning up at the boy. She couldn't help but make a small side comment about how his school was pretty much all boys- Foreign boys. Nannette was quite flirty when it came to cute boys, so it was both a plus to help a group out and be able to check out the new eye candy. However, she didn't elaborate on her small statement, already moving on to what caught her attention next as she ran forward a bit.
"Ouuu, alright everybody!!~ Way way down that hall is the Hospital Wing and then... Down this hall... This is the Headmaster Office, but you can't get in unless you know the password, so boo for you guys~" she pouted a little at the boys, before moving forward and onwards. As they came to the hall that showed outside, they could catch site of Durmstrangs big boat on the lake, and Nannette let out a semi loud gasp, looking back to Tore. She probably should have looked back to Niko and asked him seeing as he seemed more talkative, but for some reason it was Tore her site locked onto.
"Whats it like?!~" She exclaimed excitedly, pointing at the boat. Boy, she would do anything to get onto the Durmstrangs boat. Of course, she probably wasn't allowed for being a Hogwarts student and a girl (It might be like going into the boys dorm, but she wasn't sure), but the experience of getting on the submarine boat would be so cool. Something Nannette would love to do.

( good bc I am the exact same. once I get a hang of the characters and their dynamics I can go a little overboard )
Tore blinked at her. That was not a language he was accustomed to hearing. French. Huh. He understood, of course, he'd never be able to hold a conversation but he knew enough for this. Yes, no, hello, goodbye. Thank you. Please. The very basics. Enough to know that she was speaking French and that she was asking to see if he agreed. He'd have to ask her about that later, he decided, but for now, he let it be. He was surrounded by people who spoke languages he did not for most of the year. It had bothered him once, but he'd gotten over it a long time ago.
He was distracted by this for a brief moment and by the time he brought himself back to reality, Nannette was answering his question. He nodded, her explanation made sense, he supposed. She was graduating this year, finishing school. The responsible thing to do would be to focus on school rather than enter a death game that had gotten dozens killed over the year, most recently by the Dark Lord himself. He supposed he wasn't all that responsible, then.
Before he could respond, however, Nannette had drifted ahead again, pointing out the hospital wing and Professor McGonagall's office. He observed in silence, committing it all to memory. He'd need some sort of mental map of the castle if he were ever to find his way around and now was as good a time as any to start.
He looked out over the water, to the boat that had carried them here and that, in several month's time, would carry them back. Nannette was watching it, too, he realised, because she turned to him, pointing at it. "Oh, the boat?" he asked, looking down at her. "It's a little cramped, but it's nice. Warm, homey. It's not really like anywhere else I've been, especially when it starts sinking." He obviously liked it, and he was glad they'd had the option to stay there while they stayed at the castle. Most of the boys had been. Only three or four had chosen to stay in the castle. "I'd offer to show you, but it wouldn't let you on board. Unless you've ever been a Durmstrang student, it'll put you in the water if you try to get on."

{Finally got some free time ahhh my head hurts x.x How are youuu} {I get really into that stuff too once I get a hold of the characters so it's never overboard to me LOL go wildddd}
Nannette nodded as she listened to his explanation of the boat, nodding quickly as she cocked her head to the side, looking back at the boat, then at Tore again. When he mentioned the boat would drop anybody into the water that hadn't ever been a Durmstrang, her lips fell into a small pout, obviously disappointed by this discovery, "Awh... That sucks big time. I mean, it makes sense, seeing as you can't get into our common rooms, but I'm still a little more than disappointed. It just looks so cool~" She said with a loud sigh, looking back at the big boat with one last longing gaze. She wasn't the biggest fan of water though, so it was enough to chase her away from climbing aboard. She rather not take that chance.
She wasn't even sure where the Durmstrangs were staying, and even if they were staying with Slytherins and had to go through their common rooms, they couldn't get to her own common room or the two others in the castle. She herself had only been in her common room, which was just a small little room filled with lots of plants, places to sit, and a fire place, as well as they were near the kitchen so it was quite warm and smelled nice. She understood the homey feelings, but she herself could never get over the magical buildings that got bigger once they got inside. That would always be something magical to her.
Unfortunately, there wasn't much also for her to show them, "Alright, everyone!~ That will conclude our tour for today. If you see me in the hallway, don't be afraid to stop and ask for help!" she said happily, after turning back to the group and waving at them. She turned her attention back to Tore again, but this time grabbed his arm and pulled him downwards as if so she could talk to him on the same height, while grabbing Niko and pulling him towards her with her other hand, "Speaking of common rooms: 4pm in three days, after classes, meet me out front of the Hufflepuff common room. Just ask where it is~" then she let the two boys go, waving at them with a small wink, before turning and sauntering off in the opposite direction towards the kitchens and in turn, her common room.
It was up to them whether they wanted to join her tomorrow, or if they'd even remember her. With the clashing schedules, even if their classes finished around the same times, it wasn't guaranteed she'd catch them in the hallways or even in the Great Hall during Dinner, seeing as she didn't know the boys ran things differently. Either way, she needed her beauty sleep, a new sense of excitement building up in her chest as the year of unknown was approaching.

Post by 𝘨𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘯 on Jan 2, 2018 20:09:13 GMT -5
The first few days at Hogwarts passed quickly. It took him a while, but by the third day, Tore was switching between Russian and English as easily as he switched between Swedish and Russian. He was immensly greatful he'd forced his parents to find someone to teach him the language as a child and then, later, Niko help him keep up with his studies and the language. He was not as comfortable expressing himself as he was in his other two languages, but he was fluent. Being surrounded by it at all times made it far easier to tap into, which made him happy. He didn't use the language enough.
The classes were a little harder. Potions was still the same. It allowed him the time he needed to ajust to the new curriculum. Defence Against the Dark Arts was perhaps what had changed the most - at Durmstrang they learned the Dark Arts, countering it was only a part of the curriculum - but defence was also Tore's strongest subject, something which had not changed. Charms was hell, though. Spells that did nearly exactly the same thing as those Tore had been taught were entirely different here, others were unlike any he'd ever seen before. He loved it, but he did not do well. He would need time to figure it out. Niko, on the other hand, seemed to thrive. He made up for his lack of understanding with boundless enthusiasm and optimism and outperformed Tore in nearly all their lessons together, something that was so rare an occurance that Tore endured teasing not only from his friend but from boys he hadn't spoken to since his third year.
Thursday classes came and went. Tore and Nikolai shared their last one - Transfiguration - so when the bell rang for the end of the day, Tore found himself dragged out by the arm before he'd even properly stood up. "Kolyan, what are you doing?" he demanded, stumbling along to keep up. Nikolai released his arm a moment later, his pace slowing just a little.
"We," he said, looking back over his shoulders, "were told to meet Nannette by her common room, you'll recall? Now, I intend to get my tour and I know you wanted to keep talking to her. So? You coming?"
Was that today? It was. "You don't even know if she's planning to give you a tour," Tore pointed out, taking long strides to catch up, something that didn't take long given how short Nikolai's were. "You don't know anything, really."
"And I'll never know if I don't go. Now. You coming or not?"
Tore sighed. "Yeah, I'm coming."
And so it was that they walked through the castle, following directions given to them by students they passed along the way, to end up outside the kitchen and, apparantly along with it, the Hufflepuff common room. Niko was ranting in Russian about some painting he'd found that, apparantly, was far more interesting than any magical painting he'd ever seen before, Tore was listening in and inserting his opinion whenever necessary. The wait did not seem so long.
( not the greatest post I've ever written, I won't lie )

{No worries!~ Thought maybe you forgot, and your reply was A++ Do not worry!~}
It was then that one of the barrels at the side of corridor opened up, a body exciting the secret door and laying her eyes on the two boys, her lips immediately widening into a grin as she did so, They actually came! She was dressed almost exactly the same as the first day she met the boys, except her honey ash blonde hair was in loose curls around her shoulders, half of it tied up into a little bun. Niko seemed to be talking rapidly in Russian to which Nannette didn't understand, but that gave her the opportunity to come up beside the two boys with her hands tucked behind her back, clacking her heels together, "Hello, boys. Glad to see you've made it~" she said in a loud voice, as if letting them know she had arrived.
She had spent the last few days attending class, showing some Durmstrang boys around the school, attending class again, and then coming here. All day she had been pretty excited, wondering if the boys would even take up her offer. For what, exactly? Well, since they some free time between then a dinner, and even after dinner if they wanted to, she wanted to show them the secrets of Hogwarts. She'd discovered these whenever she wanted to hide away and, well... Play her strange muggle toys. Wizard folk still didn't take too kindly to these things, so she liked to hide them away from everyone else. It's not like these boys would be here for long, so why not show them some more interesting things while they were here
"So? How have your first few days been here? Are you loving it? Enjoying classes?" She quickly started with her snappy questions, heading off in one direction without much explanation on what they were going to do today. Instead she just stared at the two expectantly, waiting for them to let her know how their time at Hogwarts had been going! She hadn't seen much of them the past few days, maybe caught a glimpse of Tore every once in a while, but it was really hard not to miss a tall, hot guy when you were a girl walking around the halls of Hogwarts, Curse my stunted growth. Not actually stunted... She just liked to think of it that way.

( if it ever happens again just poke me lol I'm a very forgetful person unfortunatly )
Nikolai broke off mid-sentence, turning around with a wide grin. "We did come," he agreed, smiling up at her while Tore did the same from behind him. He had no reason to step forward, he could see over his friend's head with ease. He hadn't seen Nannette since their first day here, although he supposed that was because he'd been too busy settling in to look for her, or anyone else for that matter. Niko had dragged him out on expeditions to explore the castle and he'd spent the rest figuring out his classes and the curriculum with some help from the two Slytherins he shared his schedule with. There simply hadn't been any time.
The two boys walked side by side to Nannette's right, Niko between the two to ensure they could all see each other without Tore's shoulders getting in the way of him and the Hufflepuff girl. Tore was hard to miss, so he got to walk on the outside of any group without fail. "They've been good," Tore said, Niko eagerly nodding his agreement. "A little confusing, but I think we'll be able to get used to the way you do things."
"We take the same classes that we should have taken at Durmstrang," Nikolai clarified. "But you are ahead in some of them and behind in others, and in some classes, you don't even teach the same things! I had thought that the English would be the hard thing but it is not." He paused, looking thoughtful, then smiled again. "The castle is good, though, so I do not mind."
