It's been years since the boy who lived walked through the hallowed halls of Hogwarts Castle. There doesn't seem to be any evidence of what went down when Voldemort and his Death Eaters nearly destroyed the castle. Now, all that's left is the memories that those who took part carry and the stories written in the history books that students brush aside like any other piece of history. However, something is different this year. As students board the train, talk of the Tri-Wizard Tournament is a common subject sitting on their tongues. Usually the tournament takes place every 5 years, but since te death of Cedric Diggory and the return of Voldemort, it hasn't been held until now. In the year 2018, where muggle born wizards hide their cellphones on the plane and even pure blood students find themselves living a more modern lifestyle, nearly everyone knows what the Tournament beholds as excitement is building. However, there's something dark stirring this year at Hogwarts, as rumours of something maybe worse then the Dark Lord is silenced out by the excitement. What truly does the year hold?
~Form~ Name | Gender | 7th Year/17 years old | House Appearance - Personality - Relationships (Optional) - History (Optional) - Other
{I hope this alright! Kinda rusty LOL But that's the plot I whipped together~}
Nannette laFlamme || 17/Final || Female || Hufflepuff Personality Upfront, Nannette is the definition of prim and proper. Born and raised in an extremely high class household, she knows how to walk, how to talk, how to act, how to be according to those around her and how to be with her parents. However, Nannette when she's with her friends or by herself is quite different. She's actually an extrovert, loving being around her friends and others. She's easy going and easy to talk to, and others always seem to go to her when there's a group as she's someone who opening makes eye contact and has a generally warm smile. However this can come off as rather obnoxious to some people, being around someone whose extremely quirky and louder than most. She's also loyal to the point where she can come across as needy or clingy, especially if she has romantic feelings for them. However, if someone were to talk bad about her, she would drop them- She has no need for negativity in her life. She also comes across as naive, even though she is a lot more intelligent and aware than she lets others get onto. However, she is also a class A geek. Obsessed with muggles things and muggle culture, throughout her pure blood life Nannette has snuck into the streets and lived as one with the muggles, thus becoming quite used to their culture. She actually even takes muggle objects to school, and has been caught before playing a 3DS in a side room when she was younger. Now? She's very careful. -- Appearance Nannette is a pretty little thing, standing at about 5'5" with a more pinky toned white skin, a skinny body with a medium sized chest and a good amount of curves. She has a oval shaped face with a slender nose and plump, full lips that hide a set of seemingly perfect pearly whites, her eyes wide with long lashes that are usually painted black with mascara. Her eyes colour is a light light brown colour mixed with a forest green, and in the sun the pupil shrinks back to reveal a ring of yellow around the center. Her hair is naturally a honey ash blonde colour and falls to her mid-lower back, falling in soft waves. She pulls the top of it into a bun or a ponytail to keep it from falling in her face, or in two little space buns. Her cheeks naturally have a rosy tone to them, and she has a small mole to the side of her right eye which she likes to call a 'beauty mark'. -- Relationships N/A -- Family N/A -- History You could almost consider Nannette's family royalty, but they're just really posh. Raised by her rich mother and father, Nannette is skilled in playing the piano, singing, and dancing, although she enjoys the latter a lot more than the formers. When she was younger, word about Hogwarts had passed onto her, and she had been quite interested in attending the school. Unfortunately, her parents had their sights set on Beauxbatons, but after a lot of begging they gave into her need to attend the other school even though she lived in another country. -- Extras Nannette sings, dances, and plays the piano, as that were the things her parents forced her to keep up with even if she attended Hogwarts. Her pet is a like black bat named 'Soot', which fits into the new pet guidelines. Even though she attends school in England, she speaks fluent french and english, and tends to slip into her french language every once in a while.

Tore (tor-eh) Arvid Almgren | ♂ | 17 ~ 6th and final year | Durmstrang Tore is from an old Swedish family, and looking at him, nobody would be surprised to hear that. At 6'2" he's tall even in Scandinavia, even if the reaction he gets there is not quite as dramatic as the one he gets abroad. He's broad, but despite that, he's lean more than anything else. His broad shoulders didn't also give him impressive muscle, much to his great grief. Blond and green-eyed, his colouring is fair. His skin, too, is pale. He seems incapable of tanning or even getting freckles, he just gets slightly pinker in the sun. His features are surprisingly soft, from the gentle slope of his nose to the slight curve of his lips and smooth jaw. There's something almost feminine about his face, especially when juxtaposed against his otherwise masculine figure. His hair is a little shaggy, mostly because he's too lazy to have it nicely cut and styled and thus mostly just lets it do its thing which happens to mean often falling over his forehead or, if it's been a particularly long time since his last haircut, into his eyes. After an incident involving a badly brewed potion and a panicked classmate, Tore has burn marks stretching across his chest and the uppermost third of his right arm. Magic has healed them enough to be painless, but the scars remain. He keeps them covered whenever he can.
Tore is the kind of person you either know very well or not at all, mostly because he's so private. He doesn't understand the point of sharing himself with other people, really, and thus only really opens up to those he really trusts and wants to understand him. Tore is systematic and methodical. Everything he does seems to have a purpose and appears to be precisely planned, even when it hasn't been. He does nothing half-heartedly but he doesn't seem particularly passionate either, even when he really is. He's patient, with his narrow field of vision one has to be. He tends to fixate on one goal, one question he wants answered, and then work for as long as he has to to solve it. He'll spend weeks and months working without complaints and his results reflect this. While he's most skilled in defensive magic, his dedication means that he also excels in potions and transfiguration.
The only child of two purebloods, Tore grew up around magic. Despite that, it fascinated him as a child. While his peers flew broomsticks or played with charmed toys, he stayed inside and learned everything he could. His parents, although both purebloods, were not particularly wealthy. They both did well enough for themselves, but they were not from old money. He grew up in an average sized home with the average amount of money at his disposal. He has no training in anything but magic, but that's just as well. He likely wouldn't want it, anyway. His first language is Swedish but he also speaks Russian (he made his Russian roommate teach him, probably the only reason they know each other now) and English. His English is good but accented. He is clearly fluent but it's just as obvious that he's not a native speaker.
okie dokie, here he is. I cannot believe that I, a swede, only have one swedish character and that it's this complete and utter nerd.

{ALrightttt here we gooooo~} {LMAO ikr?? It's a little cringey once you think about it, but I did like the entrances. Wouldn't make sense in the rp really though LOL}
This was it. Her seventh and final year. It was almost as if every moment at Hogwarts had led up to this point, and Nannette wouldn't have it any different. She was quick to walk through the halls away from the kitchen, where she had been not a couple moments ago putting her trunk away near the same bed she had every year, before hurrying back out again. She was usually one of the find her seat in the Great Hall, and this year, she would be one of the first again. Her uniform was all prim and proper, tie nicely tied around her neck as her freshly ironed cloak buttoned carefully around her shoulders- Well, as fresh as a cloak can get after sitting tucked away in a trunk for the whole ride to Hogwarts. But she didn't really care much, because a little crinkle in her cloak wouldn't change the smile on her face. Her hair was tied into two little cute space buns, some little hairs pulled out almost too perfectly around her face in little curls to frame. She liked to make it look as if it was effortless, but really, she spent a lot of time getting to look that way. But that was Nannette, and that's how she always was.
She crossed across the hallways, coming to walk with the other early students as they all filed there way towards the Great Hall. Young and old, Nannette couldn't help but smile more at them as she passed, being careful not to bump into anyone on her way. Soon enough, she arrived in the Great Hall, taking her place near where the 7th year Hufflepuffs sat as she plopped herself down, glancing around at the other students in the hall. She did this for a couple seconds before she relaxed, leaning against the table and pulling out a small hand held game out of her pocket, holding it up in front of her face less discreetly then she should. Well, why not? It would take a little while to get situated, not to mention the first year had to get sorted, and then... The Tri-Wizard Tournament.
She took a quick glance towards the front of the Great Hall, looking at the one new object in the room- The covered statue like thing, studying it for a couple seconds. She'd heard a lot about it on the train, and even some over the summer at home. How did Nannette feel about it? Well... It sounded exciting. As much as Nannette's goal was to pass school was perfect grades, she liked something new to do. Her parents, on the other hand? Pretty much banned her from doing so. And, well... What her parents said was pretty much the law to her. She didn't really want it to, but without them she probably wouldn't even be attending Hogwarts right now. After a couple minutes, a girl from her house sat down beside her, immediately tossing her arms around Nannette's neck, "Nannette! It's been so long this summer, you excited for the final year?"
Eily was her name. They'd been friends since the first day of school with another girl that Eily had met on the train who was in Slytherin, a girl named Salem. It took only a moment for Nannette to react, hugging her friend back and laughing happily, "Ah, Eily! It's so great to see you," and before she answered her friends question, she pulled away and grinned, "And is that really even a question?" The two chattered and giggled for a while, catching up on their summer adventurers and plans for the new school year.
It was a little longer before the rest of the Great Hall filled and the two girls quieted down, turning their attention to the front of the room as Nannette set her chin on top of her hands propped up by her elbows on the table, eyes sparkling as she watched the first years get sorted. She remembered getting sorted into her beloved house as if it was yesterday, just as wide eyed and bushy tailed as they were. She giggled a little when one of the first years almost fell walking up the stairs, then proceeded to be sorted into Hufflepuff. Everything was perfect, everything was the same. And then, McGonagall stood up to call attention once they were all sorted as Nannette turned towards her, lips pursing together in excitement.
"Ahem! Welcome, students, to another year of Hogwarts. Usually, I would let you continue on to eat your food, but as it has discussed in the letter sent to you before this year," The sound of chatter in the hall immediately began to rise at this, as Nannette glanced over at her neighbour with a side look before McGonagall tapped her wand against her cup, eyebrows furrowing as her wrinkles from old age became more prominent, looking more furious then a little upset, "Quiet, please, quiet. Now, as it has been discussed in the letter sent to you before this year, we are hosting something very important and special... The Tri-Wizard Tournament." And as she said those four words, her wands swished carefully to take the cloth off the strange statue, revealing the mystical trophy in all its glory as the crowd gasped, chatter erupting again as the Head Master looked rather proud. Wow... It's even more grand then I thought it would be~ Nanette seemed to twitch with excitement as she watched the trophy, turning her attention back to the Head Master as she called for attenton again.
"Quiet again, please! Thank you, thank you," she cleared her throat a little, "Please welcome the lovely ladies of Beauxbatons!" As she announced the girls arrivals, the doors opened to reveal a group of girls, who walked in in order, prim and proper. They walked through the aisle to the front as everyone seemed memorized by how foreign they were, even Eily seemed to be in awe of their pretty uniforms. But Nannette watched on with disinterest, curling one of her loose hairs around her fingers. She'd seen this all before, Bor-ing. Soon enough, they were seated with the Ravenclaws as everyone clapped, before McGonagall called for attention again.
"And last, the strapping men of Durmstrang!" And as McGonagall announced the last group, Nannette turned her gaze towards the door as did most of the people in the room as Eily squealed almost too loudly, "Ouuu, foreign boys. Gosh, I do love this tournament already~" Nannette just rolled her eyes at her friends excitement, just even she was curious about the school she knew little about.

All of Durmstrang was buzzing. Well, the fifth and sixth years were, at least. Everyone else had been left behind. They could not compete in the tournament so they had not come to observe. Tore knew they had all wanted to. But he knew why Headmaster Yuri had made them stay behind. They had things to learn, things they could not learn at Hogwarts. Some of them would get the chance to go if something like this was arranged again. Others, the third and fourth years, would not. He would have felt bad for them, except he was too busy chattering in rapid Russian about what Hogwarts and the tournament held for them.
The boy he was talking to was Nikolai Ivanovich Fedorov. Closest and possibly only real friend (in Tore's eyes, anyway), tiny Russian man and the most excitable person Tore knew. The two of them made a strange pair. In many ways, they were complete opposites. Where Tore was fair, Niko was dark. Tore was nearly a foot taller than his friend, who'd settled at the grand height of 5'3" when he was fourteen and not grown another millimetre since. And, perhaps most notably of all, one of them seemed completely unphased by everything that was going on while the other was practically bouncing.
"Torya," the boy whined as they walked, using the nickname he'd given his friend in first year. He'd been disgusted to hear he had none and had promptly decided on this one. Tore was still not entirely sure if he loved or hated him for it. At least it hadn't spread. "You don't get it! We're in Scotland. At Hogwarts. For the Tri-wizard Tournament."
"I know all of this, Kolyan," Tore responded, rolling his eyes. Unlike him, Nikolai seemingly had an infinite amount of nicknames to choose from and he'd have Tore flayed if he suddenly stopped using them. "What I don't understand is why it has you so excited." This, of course, was a lie. It was also a running gag between the two. They found nothing quite as amusing as poking fun at Tore's composure and Niko's lack of it. Tore did understand why it was so exciting because he was excited himself. A new school to explore, one easily three times the size of their own. New people to meet, new magic to study. And, for Tore, a new project to completely dedicate himself to. The tournament. He'd decided he'd enter the moment it was announced. Now, it was closer than ever.
Nikolai smacked his arm, hard. "Liar," he accused. Tore didn't defend himself.
"Both of you, be quiet!" a boy in the year below them snapped, not in Russian but in Norweigan. Tore understood, it was similar enough to his mother tongue, but even if it hadn't been, everyone at Durmstrang learned the words 'be quiet' in nearly a dozen languages. Sure, the charms of the castle made it possible for them to understand each other even when they were speaking vastly different languages. But some things you simply picked up on nonetheless. "It's time to walk in. We've got to at least look like we're the intimidating men from the north." Niko grinned at him, but did as asked, settling into what Tore had to admit was a rather impressive impersonation of an intimidating man from the north. If only he'd been a few inches taller.
And then the doors were pushed open, revealing the Great Hall beyond it. It lived up to its name. Four long tables ran down its length and at the end stood a fifth, seating the professors. And there, in front of them, was the cup. Never before had he been so close to an actual squeal of excitement. Tore noted that the Beauxbaton girls had already claimed the Ravenclaw table. A shame. He'd have liked to sit there. As if he'd get to make the call. The boys marched in, led by their Headmaster, some of them still laughing. Tore knew it was not the composed display Beauxbaton would have put on. He was too distracted by the cup to care.
In the end, Yuri seated them at the Slytherin table. Expected, of course. Had this school ever sat somewhere different? They found their spots but did not sit, simply stood there for a brief moment, then bowed, then sat, the air still trembling around them. They were here.
( I didn't intend on giving niko so much screentime here but whenever he appears he demands it and who am I to blow against the wind )

{I love them both LOLLL} {Okay so I was wondering how they would even meet so I just did this honestly roLL with me LOL}
The two girls at the Hufflepuff table watched as the boys walked in, however, it was different from the Beauxbaton girls- Infact, some of them happened to be laughing, which probably wasn't what their headmaster wanted. However, they were still rather mezmorizing, and maybe it was the fact that they were all boys or maybe the fact that they were foreign that had both Eily and Nannette's eyes locked onto them. It was not until they sat that the two looked away, Nannette folded her hands together, "Cute, cute, cuteeee~ I love a good boy in a uniform."
Eily laughed at her friend, grinning widely, "Y'know that, technically, all the boys here wear a uniform?" she asked with a raise of her eyebrow. Nannette just looked over at her and tossed some of her loose baby hairs back in fake dramatics.
"Did I stutter?"
Eily laughed at her and shook her head, "Oh, Nannette."she said simply, looking over at the boys sitting over at the Slytherin table, as did Nannette. They did this weird thing that reminded her of the times her mother made her curtsy before entering the dinner room, and she raised a small eyebrow.
"Gosh, I am so glad young me talked my parents out of sending me to a school like that, si reconnaissante." she said with a small flourish in her tone, earning a confused look from Eily. The honey blonde often forgot that the people around her didn't understand what she meant, but she kinda like the mystery behind her words. She didn't even move to explain what she said before turning back to the table, as McGongall announced dinner would commence.
The tables were filled suddenly with food and the students moved to dig in, as did Nannette who seemed to hum as she ate, missing the free buffet like meals they got here at Hogwarts. Every year at the start of the year, she had the same reaction of feeling free. Every year, she got weird looks from others around her as she looked almost too gleeful, Again... I am so, so glad. She loved Hogwarts with every bit of her fiber, and as much as she loved the good food from home, nothing was better than feeling free.
However, it wasn't too long into her food that Nannette felt a small tap on her back. Looking back up at the person beside her with a curious look, her lips immediatley broke into a smile when it turned out to be Head of the House, Professor Longbottom, "Oh, bonjour, Professor Longbottom!~ How was your summer?" Professor Longbottom was a great guy, honestly. Albiet he was more of a quiet guy, he was friendly and someone who you'd think would be a perfect Hufflepuff, even if he had been a Gryffindor in the past. "Uh, yes, laFlamme... Could I speak to you? Privately." There was only confusion on her face as the small Hufflepuff was pulled from her seat and lead out into the hallway. Eily looked at her with equal amount of worry and confusion as she walked out, until the two stopped and Nannette came face to face with the teacher.
Was she in trouble? She couldn't be in trouble, she didn't do anything wrong... But it was only when the teacher spoke up that she understood, "We need you to do us a favour. We know the Durmstrang boys are assigned with the Slytherins, but you know how they are... Not very friendly, and we know how you are. Do you think you could be there guide for the time being here?"
It was a strange request. Yes, Nannette wasn't a prefect or Head Girl, but she'd avoided doing anything too fancy so that she'd be locked up or not allowed to be, well, free. However, Nannette was known for being rather friendly, so maybe they assumed she'd be a good person to show them around? Well, she couldn't turn him down, and maybe it'd be fun... It'd make more sense for her to guide around the Beauxbatons, but the Ravenclaws were probably actually friendly enough to do so, "Oui- I mean, sure, Professor Longbottom~"
"Great, great... You don't have to babysit them, just more let them see a friendly face. Alright? Alright, you can go back to eating food now." he said, before walking back into the hall, Nannette following quickly after him. It was a strange task, but she was excited to do so. What more than to show new people how wonderful Hogwarts was? She walked back to the table and flounced in her spot as Eily gave her a look.
"You look too happy for someone who got in trouble... What happened?" she asked curiously, raising a small eyebrow.
Nannette glanced over at the table and then grinned at her friend, shrugging, "I'll fill you in the on the details later~" For now, she had food to eat.
Soon, McGonagall gave her final announcement and kids who had finished eating began to file out, some heading to bed and others to hang out before going to sleep. Compared to before, Hogwarts was more lenient on their bedtime rules, except for past a certain time. Thankfully, there was a few more hours- And enough time for Nannette to help the boys get situated.
She nearly skipped over to the Slytherin table, turning to standing in front of the Durmstrang table and smiling at the boys. You'd think someone as small as her would be intimidated by boys bigger in both size and height than her, but instead she just waved at them, "Hiya, guys!~ I'm Nannette, and I'll be your guide to Hogwarts for the next while," she started, before pausing, "The Slytherins aren't usually very helpful, so they had me step in. We'll go on a quick tour for the basics, and then bed time, oui?" she asked, blinking expectantly at the boys.
Nannette was definitely a quirky person, and didn't mean to overwhelm any of the boys, although she could tell some were a little confused by her antics.
{OKAY hope this makes a little bit of sense and helps make character interaction a little smoother LOL}

( I'm just making stuff up when it comes to durmstrang lol we know so little about them so I'm just making it up as I go I'm so excited to see this ngl ahhh
also this is a mobile post so I apologise in advance for any typos. no doubt they're in there somewhere. )
The moment they were given the go-ahead to talk, the table erupted into loud chatter as the Slytherins launched into questioning and the Durmstrang boys did the same in return. Tore sat in silence, only mildly amused by the whole thing. His focus was on something else. The object of his most recent obsession. He was still staring at the cup, something which did not escape anyone's notice and most certainly not Niko's teasing. "You don't even know if it'll spit your name out, " he pointed out, a little too entertained for Tore's liking. "So, for once, Torya, relax." When he'd first figured out that Tore intended on competing, he'd pointed out that the last time someone had, a boy had died. Did he have an actual death wish? But he knew better, really, than to try and break Tore's focus. It just didn't work like that. So, instead, he'd committed to making it a little less intense. Just a little.
On his other side, a boy was speaking with a Slytherin in heavily accented English. Opposite, two friends were gossiping in what sounded like finnish, a language Tore could not even begin to understand. At Durmstrang, they all understood each other regardless. Here, at Hogwarts, that was no longer the case. Now, he'd need to speak English if he wanted to communicate with a large percentage of his classmates. He supposed he was lucky to be Swedish and not Bulgarian. Most of the students were Scandinavian. He could speak to all of them, the Norwegians and the Swedes and even the Danes. Those from further away weren't quite so lucky. Nikolai seemed to have realised this around about the same time, because he whirled on his friend.
"I don't understand them, " he said, wide-eyed. "I'll understand, like, three people in our entire year now. "
Tore rolled his eyes. "You've met them outside of school before, haven't you? Why are you so surprised? Just speak English. You're all capable enough to have a conversation." He didn't get an answer. Because before Niko could respond, a small blonde girl had arrived at their table, a small bounce in her step. The colours of her robe told him she was a Hufflepuff. Unexpected.
"She's cute," the Norweigan boy from before said. Someone else, further down the table, muttered their agreement. Nikolai glared at both of them, clearly not over this whole language barrier thing, then looked to Tore for a translation. He simply waved his friend off. Not important. Some of the Slytherins were bristling, likely a little wounded that this had been taken away from them by a Hufflepuff girl without even a prefect badge, one who'd just insulted them no less. Other than that, though, the table seemed more confused that anything. Tore was almost certainly one of the confused ones. She was so... excited. He didn't understand why. In the end, though, it was a fifth year who broke the silence.
"A tour?" he asked in English, speaking slowly as if he had to consider every word. "I was thinking the professors would be giving those?" That was how it worked at Durmstrang, after all. They had no houses, were divided by year alone.
"It will be good, yes?" Niko said brightly, sticking with English. Partially for Nannette, who, he could only assume, would not understand his Russian and partially for the others, knowing not all of them would understand his Russian now, either. "To have someone our own age show us the castle. No new authority figures?" None of them could argue with this, it seemed, or maybe they simply thought it best not to. Regardless, none of them said anything more to question it, simply nodded and remained in their confusion.
"Well, then," Niko began, beaming up at her. Ever friendly, this one. "I think we shall be happy to go with you." The rest of them nodded, some more eager than the others.
"Will you need us to finish our meal immediately?" Tore asked from beside him. He was done, but not all of them were.
( I swear I started this post with the intention of it being not quite as long ^^' went well... or not )

{Def not, i spent most of the night being busy LOL} {Ngl I was excited about this all night but LMFAO I had to drink and watch kids xD} {I did not notice any typos!~ It looks great }
Nannette looked on the group with excitement, her greenish brown eyes darting from boy to boy as they spoke in English, a language she could understand, even if their accents were pretty thick and some of their phrases might come across as a little strange. But it didn't bother her one bit, seeing as she was born French, and raised French and then English. She definitely kept an upfront of English well, however if she deemed it be, she could sound like a completely different accent in a split second. This took a lot of training over the years, but it gave her a unique appreciation for the boys own Scandinavian to English speaking.
"Oh, non non. Not here at Hogwarts. Usually, you may have a teacher show you around, but isn't it better to have someone your age?~ They like to make it more relatable," she answered the first question with a small nod and a cheerful smile, before pointing at Nikolai when he spoke up, obviously quite happy at his statement, "Yes, very good!~ Just like your friend said." she pipped, folding her hands behind her back and grinning at the rest of the group. Even though she was no prefect or authority figure, she still wouldn't take crap if the boys stepped out of line. There was one thing they would either never learn or quickly learn- Nannette was not to be underestimated.
She thought the one boy was nice, who seemed pretty happy to be guided by her and almost seemed to be pulling the rest of the boys with him. She moved her hands from behind them and then to the front, clasping them together in obvious glee as she grinned- This would be a lot of fun, "Perfect!~ I'm so very excited to be your guide." It was then that another boy spoke up, a blonde one sitting next to the extremely cheery one. She shook her head at his question almost apologetically, "Non non, it's alright~ Take your time, we'll leave in a couple minutes."
It was soon apparent, well one minute after Nannette finished her little introductory speech, the she was more than happy to just learn about the boys and their school life. This was because she quickly slid into the spot next to the very cheery one on his other side, setting her elbows on the table and propping her chin on her hands with her feet crossed and swaying back and forth under the bench, looking at the boy with wide, sparkley eyes. She may come across as kinda intimidating, but she was just so... Curious.
"So? What's it like? How does it feel?" A very open ended question, but it was hard not to want to answer. She probably should have open up with asking his name, or maybe for some help with the rest of the boys, or even asking about locating who spoke English the most fluently. But that wasn't how Nannette worked. She liked to jump right into things, catch people off their feet a little, even if it was a little unclear.

( oh yeah it was like 7 am by the time you posted cx not that that's a bad thing but I'm on break, no way I'm getting up that early lol )
"Great!" Nikolai exclaimed, in Russian again, turning back to his plate. He was one of the few who had not finished his meal. A few moments later, however, the girl - Nannette - was sitting down beside him and asking questions. Niko, whose English had never been all that great, could not eat and talk at the same time. If he got to choose, however, the decision was obvious. He pushed his plate away, signalling that he was done, and it cleared immediately in a feat of magic. He looked a little as though he had not expected it to work because he brightened immediately, seeming greatly entertained.
"It?" he asked, confused. Just what was she referring to? Their arrival at Hogwarts seemed the best bet, but they'd just been talking about their tour and really, she could be talking about anything under the sun. He glanced at Tore for a brief moment, checking to see that he had not misheard, but his friend simply shrugged. So, he had not misheard at all, then. "It's exciting," he said, still not entirely sure what 'it' was. Either way, he was excited. Beside him, Tore rolled his eyes. Was Nikolai ever anything other than excited?
Tore leaned forward to see around Nikolai, something that wasn't all that difficult given their respective heights. "Will you enter the tournament?" he asked Nannette, earning him a hard smack on the arm from Niko.
"Torya," he warned, fixing him with a sharp look. A moment later, he was redirecting his attention again. "You must... What is the word?" He muttered in Russian, clicking his fingers, then brightened. "Right, yes. You must excuse him. He cannot think about anything else, I do not think." He was certain that he was right, and he was, not that Tore would admit it that easily.
"I'm looking forward to exploring," Niko continued, back on track. "Your castle is very big, much bigger than ours. I don't think I could ever know all of it." As if to prove his point, he leaned his head back to watch the ceiling shift above them. They had a similar enchantment on their dining hall ceiling at home, only it provided them with sunlight, always. Living in the Scandinavian north, they barely saw the sun for several months out of the year. Old enchantments solved that. Even then, this room was massive, much larger than any, save for perhaps the ballroom, back at Durmstrang.
