Something's coming to Quiet Valley...
- - -
Welcome!
Hello, this is a simple rp about cats forming a clan. It'll be a bit relaxed, however, if your inactive for 2 weeks, you are marked as "missing in action", for 4 weeks, you are deleted. Activity rules will be a little loose at first, unless this becomes a more professional, established rp! Members will be given higher roles if active. However there are rules to follow.

The cats of the valley have all lived their lives out, mostly alone. Cats in the forest, by the ocean, in the human city and in the mountains would sometimes stay in family groups, but none were of any note. However, something has changed- a cat has come from a foreign land, called Clifftail. He speaks of his days in a clan, before all fell apart, and since his arrival, strange dreams come to the cats of the valley- filled with shining images of their loved ones who are gone, and scenes of the wild nature, and a feeling they must go find their fortune in the forests of Quiet Valley.

I'll make my own map from scratch that's a little neater in future, if this rp lasts. For now we'll go off of this. Map is NOT TO SCALE. Up is north and down is south. Territory is based on mountainous, forested areas around the North America and Canada range, but is entirely fictional.

The Quiet Valley Person's Place: A rather quiet twoleg city. Many house cats live here. There are some small, peaceful parks strays and loners occupy, and, a bit farther from the main town, farmland. Cats are sometimes kept as mousers or pets at the farms. Human name is "Quiet Valley Town" or "Quiet Valley City".
Clifftail's Hunting Spot: A small hilly park between the town and mountains. Clifftail started living there during leafbare with a few other former clan cats. It has a more human populated area, where humans walk and have picnics, and a separate section for a little dog park. Cats avoid the dog park, and feral cats tend to stay in the more wilder, untamed part of the forest, closer to the mountains. It has a fence around it, and one fence blocking off the wilder part of the forest from the part humans frequent. There is a small lake at the back and a stream that fades off into the mountains, and humans sometimes gain permission to camp there in the warmer months.
Quiet Thunderpath: Named by Clifftail. A very quiet thunderpath that has very slow going cars- heads off towards the mountains and goes past a lake. Borders the outskirts of the parkland Clifftail lives at.
Tiny Tim's Hill: A cat named Tiny Tim lives here with his Clutter- they are fed by a twoleg family who runs a farm near the hills. Tiny Tim is the eldest and has many kits and grandkits, hence the name after him.
Person's Beaten Trail: A trail going around the territory that branches of a road for cars that goes through and around the city. It is a dirt trail humans take walks on, so danger from cars is minimal unless one goes off the road, but dogs can be found with humans, ad a few of the humans are catchers.
World View Hills: So called because you can see a lot of the territory from here! These are very tall, rolling hills, with a lot of prey and minimal human activity. Hares and field mice are common year round, as well as herbs. There are vibrant patches of wildflowers humans like to come and gather, and cats like to collect who enjoy pretty things, with a few having herbal use too.
Tall Stone Mountain: Part of what humans call the "Stony Mountain Range", it is the tallest nearby peak, as far as cats can tell. There are many winding caves and paths that can be hazardous, wild goats and mountain lions, and, sometimes, bears, wolves and snakes in the forests between and going up the mountains, so cats, be wary when visiting. There is fabled to be a cave of glowing stones, a legend both animals and humans tell, but no one has seen it for generations and it's existence is doubtful. The caves are confusing and risky to venture into.
Foggy Bog: A large bog by the mountains, next to a deeper lake. It is rumored to be a place of ill luck and disease so almost no cat lives there, but it does have very good fishing, hiding and frog hunting places.
Deadeye's Caverns: Named such because a cat humans called "Deadeye", for being born with only one eye on the right side, with the other shut, moons ago lives here now. Deadeye is territorial and a bit hostile, but not a killer as rumors often say he is. He used to live at Quiet Valley Person Place when he was a kit, but left as a two year old cat to claim his own territory. Deadeye's Caverns is also home to a dead forest, burnt out by a fire, and on rather sandy and unwelcoming turf, so Deadeye is often seen heading to the delta for prey.
Delta's Crossing: An old bridge, weathered and with a few holes, is located here, made of stone and some wood. There is a winding delta that is fairly good for fishing, but is on a slippery slope, so a bit risky. It goes off into the sea. The bridge was made back in the late 1800's by settlers, before the town next to it became a ghost town. It floods annually here, or almost annually here, in any time but the winter months when there's heavy rainfall.
Deadeye's Palace: Ruins of a 1800's ghost town settlers abandoned for reasons unknown, Deadeye lives here, and a few other cats. It is called his palace and he "rules", so your only allowed their by his permission. It has a surprising amount of herbs, shelter, and old locomotives and building to explore.
Three Big Trees: A cedar, an oak and a pine tree remains, that are tall, and burnt and have stood so for moons. They stand tall above the other burnt trees, and there's an old burrow under the oak large enough to fit a few cats comfortably. It was likely for a badger or fox family once, but is so old it holds no scent.
Big Ol' Tree: A giant tree you can see from land located on Paw's Print Isle. It is an unknown tree is is old. It tends to look bald, but it is, in fact, alive, but grows few leaves. It homes bird nests, typically birds of prey.
Paw's Print Isle: A series of five islands- or four, as one of the smaller islands is almost connected to the largest, shaped like a paw print. It has a few trees but is largely sandy and grassy with a lot of weeds. It is a bit difficult to reach as you need to swim in the ocean, or take a human boat from the docks, but it isn't very far out. It is a rather large island, at least, the center 'paw pad' like one is. Next to Big Ol' Tree is a rocky cave that is rumored to dig deep underground and even tunnel under the ocean. It is said a cave on the mainland leads there, but it has yet to be discovered as the location was lost.
Quiet Valley's Cliffs A large outcrop of cliffs that drop down to the see, a few with nice seaside caverns. It sits nearby some tidepools.
Lady's Oak: A cat named Lady lives here with her kits, hence the name. It is a big oak and she and her kits live under it. It's name is known by few, as it was only called that recently when she had her kits there.
Tiny Pools: Tidepools by the caverns and ocean. Good place to hunt sometimes.
Shiny Lake: A big, shiny lake, with a lot of prey, and some willows growing nearby. Humans are frequent fishers here, as well as other animals, bears included, but rare, as well as the occasional wolf.
The Giant's Pine: Fabled in human tall tales to be planted by a giant, then partially uprooted by one, as it's roots stick up awkwardly on one side. It is a massive, huge pine. No cat has even claimed to the tippy top, and it is a favorable place to hunt birds.
Stick's Hill: So named by a loner named Stick. He's friendly, so he often lets others come live here peacefully and shares his prey. She-cats with kits, and young cats, often come here for shelter, and a small haphazard Colony has formed led by Stick, who knows a bit of healing, hence why many cats come to him. It is avoided by more aggressive types, as a few trained cats live there to protect the weak, and it is an established territory. It is a series of tall, rolling hills, and a small woodland near the stream leading to Shiny Lake.
Useless Bridgeway: A very old bridge sits here, with no evident purpose. It's just there, and shelter from rain. Cats speculate a river once ran there, but dried up, as herbs grow plentiful, or humans just built it, either an eccentric who thought it looked nice, or with the intention to move it elsewhere.
Clifftail's Hunting Spot: A small hilly park between the town and mountains. Clifftail started living there during leafbare with a few other former clan cats. It has a more human populated area, where humans walk and have picnics, and a separate section for a little dog park.
