Plot(s) --
1 | The name SkyClan hasn't been heard around these parts for generations. Until now, that is. A small group of loners has come together in hopes of bringing back SkyClan, many of these cats actual descendants of some of the last warriors to walk the gorge. Some of these descendants are actually receiving signs from the ancestors telling them that SkyClan must come back together, that they will face hardships, but they will make the Clan stronger than ever. They will face trial after trial - sickness, aggression, predators. Even though StarClan has spoken and declared that SkyClan will come out stronger than before, can this ragtag group of cats actually step forward and bring SkyClan to its former glory?

βWake up.β
The feline put a paw over his face as if that would make the others leave.
βMy son, wake up.β The voice was urgent this time.
A paw placed itself over his shoulder and then shook him. βYou may sleep later, but now we must speak with you.β A new voice entered the conversation.
A groan slipped from the cat. He rolled over, pulled his paw away from his face, and then slowly parted open his pale gaze. In front of him stood two cats that he had seen in dreams before, but never up close.
Before him stood a petite silver-gray tabby molly and a magnificent torbie molly. They were both looking at him with affection in their gazes yet there was also a sense of urgency underneath their expressions.
The brown tomcat known as Moose stepped forward. His ears perked forward as he asked, βWho are you?β The two mollies seemed to already know him so he felt it was only appropriate for him to know who they were.
The cream and brown tabby spoke for both of them. She seemed to have the most authority, Moose thought. βI am Leafstar, and this is Echosong.β With her tail Leafstar motioned toward the silver tabby who in turn dipped her head in greeting. βWe are cats from SkyClan-β
Moose wasnβt able to stop himself from interrupting and blurting out, βSkyClan?β
Leafstar nodded as her whiskers twitched in amusement at his slip up. βYes, dear one, SkyClan. We were a formidable group of cats who once looked after one another, but thenβ¦β Leafstar faltered, her eyes glazing over with memories of the long ago past. She seemed to be shaking as if the memories were battering her without stop. Mooseβs heart ached for the molly. βA vicious group of rogues invaded our camp. We had no choice but to leave our gorge and look for help in other Clans. We did not make it and soon we vanished. SkyClan could no longer hold its own.β At this Echosong stepped forward. She smiled down at Moose all the while comforting Leafstar silently by laying her tail over the torbieβs shoulder.
Moose blinked. He felt his chest tighten as sorrow for the two flooded over him. But a question outweighed his emotions. βWhy are you telling me this?β
βBecause, Moose, we believe that your group can bring back SkyClan,β answered Leafstar who seemed to have recovered from her initial grief.
Another question rolled off the tomβs tongue. βBut why this group? Arenβt there other groups out there that could bring back, er, SkyClan?β He tipped his head in wonder at the mollies. Why had they chosen his group of cats? They were small and quite frankly a ragtag group of loners. It made no sense to choice his group.
A smile graced Leafstarβs features. She reached out and nudged young Moose with the love only a mother could give. βDescendants of SkyClan belong to your group. Clan blood runs in the veins of some of your members, including you, Moose.β The molly mrrrowed in laughter as Moose felt his eyes go wide with more questions. Before he could ask, Leafstar mewed, βMy blood runs in your veins, Moose. Not only do you share my blood, but you have a destiny bigger than most.β
The brown tabby had so many more questions to ask, but he could say no more as he watched the two mollies begin to fade away. He felt a jolt of panic, his adrenaline pumping. This allowed him to ask one last question before the two disappeared. βWill I see you again?β
It was the pretty silver molly that spoke this time. Her voice was clear like a stream yet warm like a nurturing flame. βWe will meet again, Moose, this I promise.β And just like that the two mollies were gone, leaving Moose all alone.
He woke with a start.
Moose jumped to his paws; it had been a dream. Now he was wide awake and knew that he would be unable to get back to sleep even if he tried. He uncurled himself from his nest and walked out of the old rabbit warren that the small group had been using for shelter the last few days. He was careful not to wake any other cat up. As he slipped outside, he was hit with the scent of dew and frost. Dawn had yet to break, but Moose could feel in his bones that it wouldnβt be too much longer before the world began to wake up alongside him. For now he supposed he had time to himself to go over his dream and think about the two mollies with the weird names from a group called SkyClan.

It was dark, and to be frank, the gray and white molly preferred it that way. It left her covered and sheltered from other cats, and her brother Drizzle seemed to be enjoying it all the more. Tundra snorted as he padded out of the bushes with a bushy tailed Squirrel in his jaws.
"You should be helping me find a place to sleep, not hunting, you mouse-brain." The gray and white molly snorted.
"Stop being such a mood killer, Tundra." Drizzle snapped before shaking his head and dropping the squirrel on to the earth beneath their paws. "Alaska taught us how to hunt for a reason since mama died. Plus, I thought it would be good to have something to eat if we are going to be travelling for a while." The gray tabby tom hissed with his ears flattened against his cranium.
Tundra looked Drizzle in the face, her own showing no emotion, as well as her body language as she sat down and licked a paw, drawing it over her face. "Fine. Eat, then. I'm not hungry. But you know how much i hate--" She cut off as another voice interrupted her words, a voice she hadn't recognized, causing her to spin around in a panic.
"Now, now, young warriors. Do not fret. Tundra, you need to eat, not bicker with dear Drizzle over there." It was a tom, a starry figured with dark gray fur. Beside him sat a pretty starry molly with brown speckled white fur. They looked massive compared to Drizzle and Tundra, but the two were fluffed up and alert, growling with their lips curled. "Oh, you two. So full of energy and battle. You are definitely one of us." The molly added onto the toms words.
Tundra glared at the two and stood in front of her brother, lashing her tail. "Who are you? Why do you two have stars in your fur?" The gray and white molly asked before realization wracked her brain. These were the star cats that Alaska had mentioned before he passed away. Her fur laid flat as she took a bold sniff at the molly. She smelled like milk and... the twoleg road? Crinkling her nose she looked at the gray tom. He smelled like the lush forest and water from a stream, or lake. It just hinted at their deaths, and she just hoped these cat's weren't there to kill them.
"I am Hawkwing, and this is my mate, Pebbleshine. We had kits, three of them, two are now with Thunderclan, and the one kit that didn't return home with them, was Alaska. Your father." The tom started. Tundra was confused. What kind of names were Hawkwing and Pebbleshine? But then the molly continued after the tom. "It is the Skyclan ancestors duty to find their kin and bring them to the gorge to rebuild Skyclan. You two are needed for this job. So go now, eat and continue until you find the gorge. You must rebuild Skyclan and relive as the warrior clan that once was. We believe in you and we will see you again once you all come together." Pebbleshine mewed and licked Tundra's nose gently before the two started to disappear.
Tundra looked at Drizzle, who watched the two disappear. He looked just as confused as she felt, but she didn't question it. Flicking her tail, she crouched beside him and took a bite of the squirrel. If those star cats were right, about building a clan, she'd need to figure out exactly where this gorge was. But she couldn't do it without food, or rest. She pressed against her brother, who was watching the faint glitters fall from the area the two cats disappeared.
"You don't plan to listen to them, do you?" Drizzle asked before looking at Tundra, his eyes narrowed.
"I just want to find the gorge and the other cats they talked about.That's all. We will see if we can rebuild this so called clan. But for now, we needto continue. So, finish eating and lets go." The gray and white molly stood up before pushing her way though the undergrowth once more, following the faint scents of a stream that led her to believe where the gorge might be, hoping her brother would follow her lead.
is this what they resorted to? listening to two star cats who probably lost their minds after their death, to repair what was lost?
Drizzle could only imagine as he gobbled up the squirrel and stalked after Tundra.

Kinktail, Cherrytail, Sparrowpelt
"Is everything alright, mother? Sparrowpelt?"
Kinktail ducked his head as he entered the cave, a fat bird clenched between his teeth. The pale brown tom had been living in the gorge with his mother and her littermate for as long as he could remember, and he had no memory of them ever looking like this.
They looked...distraught, to put it mildly, and as Kinktail set down the pigeon in front of them and settled down on the other side of it, they decided to speak.
"We...had a dream from StarClan, Kinktail." Cherrytail admitted, her eyes dark with sorrow. "From Hawkwing and Pebbleshine."
This interested Kinktail, and he was sorry to say he didn't feel much sadness, hearing that his brother had joined the ranks of StarClan. Hawkwing had left Cherrytail and Sparrowpelt with the rest of SkyClan a fair amount of time before Kinktail had actually been born, so he wasn't familiar with the former SkyClan deputy and his mate. "What did they say?"
"SkyClan failed."
This information came from his uncle, who stared morosely at the wall of their den. The dark tabby gave a moody flick of his tail, leaving Cherrytail to continue.
"Their journey ended in everyone dying and splitting up." She elaborated, her green eyes on the sandy floor. Kinktail, while not particularly torn up about the deaths of cats he didn't know, still tried to give his mother a comforting blink. He wouldn't die or leave her, she still had one kit, always. The tortoiseshell seemed to take strength in this, and continued.
"Hawkwing...your brother...said that we were to be responsible for rebuilding SkyClan."

Moose Well, he couldn't sleep now; he was wide awake. It was still dark, but that didn't stop the feline from leaving his current burrow to explore the world around him. He was a cat after all and his night vision was superb.
Stretching out his back legs, the dark brown tabby began to scout for something that might pique his interest. He wasn't hungry right now, but he knew he would be later. Should he perhaps go out and hunt, then? It would prove useful and by the time he was hungry he would perhaps have something already dead and caught. Sounds like a plan, he thought to himself with a twitch of his whiskers. Well, looked like he had something to look forward to now.
Moose headed toward the nearby stream. It wasn't much, but it was certainly a fresh source of water. It also wasn't a terribly long walk, either. It was enough for him to stretch out his legs and feel his muscles ripple under his pelt enough to remind himself that he was actually pretty strong. Young as he was, he was large and strong. It was a natural talent of his.
As he found his way to the stream, Moose spotted a small herd of deer - two does and a young buck - grazing through the undergrowth. They seemed content, their tails wagging back and forth to show calmness. All was fine in the woods right now. No predators were prowling about in this neck of the woods. There didn't seem to be anything to worry about other than tracking down and catching prey for himself.
But that thought was pushed to the side when voices caught his attention.
The dark-furred tomcat paused in his steps. He felt his fur instinctively bristle up. As he scented the air he caught the fresh scents of a tom and a molly - perhaps a mated pair, he thought to himself. They could very well still be sleeping, but Moose couldn't recall any notable dens that would hold two cats comfortably in the area. And he had literally just heard voices, so of course they weren't sleeping. Good thinking, Moose.
Taking a moment to think everything through, Moose decided that he was going to chance it and make contact with the two nearby felines. If they were hostile he was sure he could get away. So, taking a deep breath, Moose called out, "Hello?" Percy That dumb buck that had been living nearby had woken Percy up. Again.
The ginger and white tomcat had uncurled himself from his nest, quite honestly pissed off at being woken up by the hooved creature for the third night in a row. The buck seemed to really enjoy the nearby young birch tree as a scratching post for his antlers, and every night he would rub his antlers on the bark, creating a sound that Percy just could not stand. It made him wish he had the size and strength to take the deer down as prey, but even Percy knew he couldn't accomplish something that like. If only he were the size of one of those large dogs he saw with humans from time to time, but alas, he was not.
Succumbing to his fate Percy decided he might as well get his day started. It was still dark out, but he could feel that dawn was approaching.
Sleepily he padded out of his nest, grumbling under his breath about how awful that buck was at it ignored the feline's presence and continued to blissfully rub up against the tree. Percy lashed his tail. He couldn't wait for the day a hunter's bullet ran straight through the buck's heart or when a predator took it down. Anything for a full night's sleep, he thought bitterly to himself. Perhaps he would soon get a peaceful night. One could only wish for such a thing.
Percy headed down the trail that would lead him to the nearby gorge. He was aware that a small family of cats made their home there. He typically avoided the cats, running into them only every once in a blue moon, and when he did run into them it was usually a handsome tom that he still had no name for. In Percy's mind he was simply called "The Handsome Tom". That seemed to be a fitting name.
Still bleary-eyed and lost in thought, Percy forgot to check his surroundings as he walked on. Before he knew it his paw slipped over the edge of the gorge, his body falling down. Luckily he was able to grab ahold of a nearby tree root that was holding him up for now as he struggled to get his footing back, but he wasn't having much luck with that as of now. A wail slipped from his throat. "Help!" He yowled, dirt and soil spilling to the bottom of the gorge as he did all he could to pull himself back up on solid land. |

Before the conversation could go further on what they should do, the three cats were interrupted by a call for help outside.
Being the youngest, and the closest to the exit to the den, Kinktail was on the scene first. However, the moobs of warrior training hadn't failed the two old cats either, and they were right on his paws.
When the trio made it to the edge of the gorge, the pale brown tom saw...well...
Without a second thought, he lunged forward and fastened his teeth in Percy's scruff, sinking his claws as well as he could into the sandy ground. His mother's teeth fastened into his own scruff, and he could feel her pulling him backwards as he pulled the stranger up the side of the cliff.
It was a team effort, but eventually the small family had managed the rescue. So now it was time for questions.
"This is an odd place to climb this time of night, isn't it?"

This was it. This was going to be the end of Percy, he just knew it. Falling from right here would pretty much end his life as soon as he would fall to the ground. He would end up broken and bloody on the floor of the gorge. No cat would ever look for him. No cat would even remember him. He was a loner, and loners were usually, well, alone. He had no family in the surrounding area, no friends who would care about him if he died. The only thing close to another living thing that knew about him well was that damn buck that always woke him up. Percy swallowed. At any other time he would be cursing that buck but if that was the only creature that would remember him then maybe the buck wasn't that bad of a creature to have around...
Just when he felt his paws starting to give way from the root, teeth fastened themselves into his scruff. The orange and white tabby let out a 'huff of air as he was dragged forward. For a second there he was too surprised to help out much, but before he had made it to complete safety he was able to push his hind paws forward and scale the last of the way up with the help of his savior.
As soon as he was on solid ground again Percy plopped down on his side, reveling in the feel of the ground underneath him. He wasn't going to die today after all!
With gratitude brimming in his pale green gaze, Percy looked up only to see...Handsome Tom alongside an elderly calico. He knew as soon as he smiled that it looked awkward on his face. "I wasn't climbing so much as I was falling," he replied in a dry voice with the faintest hint of laughter in his words.

Drizzle put his tail out in front of Tundra as the two shared a look of confusion. He could hear voices. No, not voices, just a voice. And it wasn't one that the two had heard from Hawkwing and Pebbleshine. No, this cat sounded more... alive. Hawkwing and Pebbleshine had a slight whisper in their words, which differentiated a live cat from the star cats. Well, that's what Drizzle believed. He took a few steps foreword.
"What're you doing?! What if this cat is hostile? What if it isn't even a cat?" Tundra hissed under her breath, jumping in front of Drizzle to block his path. He rolled his eyes and batted her away. "Seriously, Drizzle! We don't know if this cat is-" She cut off when Drizzle made his way out of the bushes and faced Moose, his fur slightly bristled. Tundra sighed and followed him quickly, being the first to speak. "Who are you? And why are you out here alone... It's late, I didn't think the forest would have any other night travelers."
Drizzle slowly nodded agreement and stared curiously at Moose, though stood attentive. "We're looking for a gorge. We heard of a clan that might have been there. Do you know where it is?" The gray tabby tom asked.
Tundra looked at her brother, confused as to why he was asking a random loner about the gorge. Was he mouse-brained? The gray and white molly shook her head and looked at Moose, half hoping he would answer with a promising sentence, but also didn't, since she didn't care much to rebuild this so called Skyclan. |

A squeak of surprise escaped Moose when he was suddenly confronted by a large tom and soon after a molly. They didn't seem too friendly...
Moose took a few paces back until his hindquarters was pressed up against a tree. He flattened himself to the ground, looking up at the two other felines in hopes that he looked harmless enough to the two. "I'm...I'm Moose," he mewed with a shaky voice. He felt his tail twitch and scrape the bark of the tree. Should he tell them why he was awake? He felt nervous thinking about telling the two. They would think he was crazy, talking nonsense about starry cats and something called SkyClan. And then, before he knew it, the large tom mentioned a gorge and a Clan. The young tom blinked. Had Leafstar and Echosong come to this other tom as well? It was a long shot, but Moose felt compelled to speak the truth now.
"I had a dream," he started, slowly finding his voice. As he found his voice he also began to stand taller, straighter. Even though he was younger than these two cats he was already taller than them - much taller. "About this gorge and Clan as well. I don't know where the gorge is, but fate must have brought us together, and I'm sure it will bring us to the gorge." Of that Moose was sure. |
