flint I'm also in college (sophomore, neurosci), and consider myself "lit" by whatever arbitrary standards we're defining that by
I enjoy college-age because it gives you more freedom with what you can do. A lot of college role-plays on the forums tend to fall into onto genre though, specifically rich-kids-at-private-school-go-to-parties. Which I find obnoxious because A. there's never any over-arching plot besides "stereotypical character 1 wants to get into stereotypical character 2's pants but SC1 likes SC3" and it's just. Boring. and B. i'm living a typical college experience right now I don't want to rp my character's going to parties when like, that's already my life. feel me? so I'd be down to actually formulate an interesting plot |

lmao yeah. the mods are sticklers on the swearing bit - early New Forum days I used to drop the f-bomb regularly because it's just generally how I talk. That didn't last long. They have a new "warning level" system that they use to mark people who break that rule, but tbh I've never seen them delete a rp from the new forums yet

( @ganymede what do you think of a plot where our characters are feuding neighbors? You know how it is when upperclassmen move off campus and there tends to be large groups of people in houses. There could some basis of a plot there. Also, I'm going to close joining, I think we have enough people.

I like the feuding neighbor idea; that sounds like it could end up being really funny. We could also use that as a starting board for other subplots
edit: lol it's actually a really fun major! i'm not at all athletic so i have a ton of respect for you running the mill with that. i don't even think my school has field hockey. i'm 19 so i'm still stuck in the 'i look 12 so i can't get a fake so let's crush 15 people in a single room and play kings cup' era. which is not something i'd like to repeat in rp lmao

plot things we could figure out:
- how did the feud start?
- are there gonna be any interpersonal character dramas? like ex-relationships. a ringleader to the whole thing?
- i like the idea of maybe some of them being in student council/student gov.
- what is the over-arching plot besides the setting? what is instigating the rp? did something happen to change the dynamics of the situation? someone dropping out of school, someone being murdered by their professor, etc.

One idea could be that one of the rooms played a prank on the other one and it went really, really badly.
In the sense that someone was very petty and a joke-war turned into a full scale dislike for each other. Maybe there was a break-up too. Idk.
edit: i'll probably go with a male and a female character. keep the numbers even-ish

(I like the idea of the joke war gone wrong, I think I a break up could work in, too, because then there's multiple platforms for the feud aside from just one thing to go off of, in case some people don't want to be a part of the joke war.)

This sounds pretty fun. if you want I can have my character in band too, so they know eachother from somewhere (hence the living together) I'll try to do girl and boy. I really only suggested the band/choir thing because at nd all the magic groups are families/cults so all my actual friends are in chorale with me. The house thing seems really promising)

Bc if we do that I have Gabby the Overachiever(TM) who would totally go for that

student body president is a little extreme, but maybe for a senate seat or something! i'd totally have a character who run against Gabby if u wanna do that, since over-achievers are kind of my Trademark (tm) at this point *coughremembergraycough*
