Bumblebreeze welcomed his mate affectionately, pressing against her in some sort of attempt to warm her up or comfort her, maybe both. He didn’t say anything, not knowing what exactly to say or do. This wasn’t a good situation, he knew that, everyone knew that, and he hadn’t a clue what to say. So instead, he just stayed there like that, pressed up as close as he could to his mate while enjoying the ever present of comfort of her presence.
He didn’t dare move for a few minutes, until he felt that they should probably get up and get going. So, with heavy paws, he stood up, giving Cherryshine’s ear an affectionate lick. “Come on, we should get some rest, or find something to do, I don’t feel right just lying here,” he admitted, voice quiet and a little raspy from not using it in awhile. (It’s a little short, sorry.)

A purr came from the thick-furred tortoiseshell as Bumblebreeze pressed against her. A slight chill had found its way inside her pelt thanks to the light drizzle, but Bumblebreeze's warmth was a big help in keeping her warm and even drying her fur - not that she was soaked but merely damp. Cherryshine saw herself as a very lucky cat to have such a kind and caring mate as Bumblebreeze. She had padded after him for seasons, her affection for the tom going back even to their apprentice days. The day they had shared their feelings for one another had been the best day of Cherryshine's life, passing even the day she had been named a warrior under Yarrowstar's and StarClan's watchful gaze. She was blessed to be living the life she was, and she couldn't ask for anything better.
Well, perhaps she could. She could ask for StarClan to send the Clan a sign, any sign, of who their new leader should be.
While the tomcat's warmth was relaxing, Cherryshine still felt a prickle of worry in the front of her mind like a bone lodged in her throat. Who was going to be the new leader of their Clan? MoonClan couldn't last long without leadership. Thinking about that brought back the memories of burying Birchfur, Yarrowstar, and Ratface earlier that morning. The light drizzle had caused the ground to go soft and turn into mud; Cherryshine was sure she still had muddy debris stuck in her fur.
What sounded good right now was curling up against Bumblebreeze and taking a nap, but Cherryshine knew she wouldn't be able to sleep well. She would be tossing and turning, her mind too occupied with worry to get a restful sleep. "We could go down to the rivers," suggested the tortoiseshell, her own voice soft as she spoke. "Though, I don't mind doing whatever you want to do." Her words were genuine. Whatever Bumblebreeze felt like doing then Cherryshine was on board. She just wanted to busy her paws with something away from camp, away from all the grief and sorrow that permeated the air like a thick fog. |

There was a lot going on, and all of it was overwhelming. Though, if he were to say that he wasn't calming down then he would definitely be lying. Stormcreek was pretty much the only thing getting and keeping his nerves and thoughts under control right now. He was thankful for that, and he didn't have any plans to move from this particular moment. Sadly the other did.
As the lynx point warrior retreated a little, Briarcurl looked up at him. A nudge and purred words brought the ghost of a smile to his maw. Though, with the new information, he couldn't help but turn his gaze to the mentioned cats. He was right, it seemed as though they were trying to keep things running and get patrols together to go it. And they were right to do so, honestly. Life couldn't just stop because they had lost nearly every form of leadership. They all had things to do. Everyone had to be fed and borders had to be checked as per the usual. Gaze turning back to tom before him, he gave a vague nod. "Yeah, I think volunteering would be good."
It would be best for several reason, really. Being busy meant focusing on something other than the clans current leaderless situation. It would also keep him from falling out of habit in terms of getting things done. Last but not least, he was freezing. The rain that had soaked through his pelt was keeping him cold, and not moving wasn't helping. With all this in mind, the warrior stood, stretching briefly. "Should we go on a border patrol, or go hunting?" He wasn't one to make desicions, and he wasn't about to start now.

well, at least for bumble and cherry, these are the possible genetics i got for them --
Kits have a 50% chance of short and long hair.
Toms have a 37.5% chance of being red, a 37.5% chance of being black, a 12.5% chance of being cream, and a 12.5% chance of being gray.
Mollies have a 37.5% chance of being black, a 37.5% chance of being tortoiseshell, a 12.5% chance of being gray, and a 12.5% chance of being dilute tortie. Dilute kittens have a 50% chance of having a caramelized color.
All kits will be genetically solid. Ginger cats will be mackerel tabby. Tabby kittens have a 50% chance of being silver tabby.
Kits have a 50% chance of being up to half white and a 50% chance of having no whites.
Hickory and clover's genetics are this --
Offspring will all be shorthaired.
Toms have a 75% chance of being black and a 25% chance of being gray.
Mollies have a 75% chance of being tortoiseshell and a 25% chance of being dilute tortoiseshell.
Kits have a 50% chance of being genetically solid and a 50% chance of ticked tabby.
