History
Once, there was only one Clan in the forest, a large Clan with no name (since, with only one, they need not differentiate themselves). It was very different from the Clans we know now, but it still followed a rudimentary version of the warrior code, and some of the ranks were the same. However, this Clan had no deputy, and eventually it came to pass that the leader of the Clan died with no obvious successor. Thus, the prominent and ambitious members of the Clans all claimed their right to lead, and in turn divided the Clan's loyalties between them.
With conflict came bloodshed, and before long, separate groups had been chased out or left, settling in the surrounding areas. Determined to reunite the Clan under one leader- and each group certain that the leader would be theirs- the groups continued to fight for many moons. Though they began to realize that reuniting would be impossible, the Clans refused to accept this, and still fought among themselves, refusing to truly become their own Clans under the false hope that the first Clan would come to be again. Yet, as seasons passed and they were not reunited, those who even remembered the original Clan began to die off, leaving a generation of cats who knew only their own Clans. Still, the Clans continued to fight, if only because that hostility was the only thing they had ever known.
Eventually, the members of each Clan started to become weak and sick, some even succumbing to the mysterious illness, which medicine cats could not identify. Now, the Clans' hostility began to abate, and desperate to find a cure to the sickness, they even began to work together, medicine cats sharing tips and knowledge in an attempt to find the cure. Moons passed and cats died, but no herb seemed to work. All hope seemed lost, until their ancestors came in a dream to all the medicine cats. They told them that only working together completely, sharing not only knowledge but herbs, could they find the cure. The medicine cats awoke, and decided that they would each find an herb which was unique to their territory. They and the rest of their Clans would meet on the next full moon night with as much of their respective herbs as they could carry, and there they would mix the cure.

The following full moon, the Clans met again to share news of the cure's status, which had miraculously worked. In honor of the cure that saved them and brought them together, they agreed to meet every full moon from then on in peace. Furthermore, each Clan took on the name of the herb they contributed to the cure, as a badge of honor for the part they played. And finally, the rank of deputy was added and the warrior code amended, so that the problems that caused the original Clan to split would never again occur. And thus, the modern Clans were born.
About the Clan
JuniperClan is made up of agile cats. Because of how thick the forest is, climbing in the trees and sometimes even hunting in them is something that all apprentices are taught. They are not the strongest fighters, but can certainly fight when needed. Most of the cats are on the shorter side while still being muscular. Short and stocky is the best way to describe them. They are not particularly fast, either, and do best when they are in the trees.
Although some of the cats in JuniperClan could be on the larger side, they are mostly smaller so that they can walk out on thinner branches without breaking them. They're typically muscular because of the jumping from tree to tree, or having to pull oneself onto a branch. Color-wise, they tend to be darker shades of mainly brown, gray, and black, with a lot of tabbies thrown in, too. This helps them have better camouflage when moving throughout the woods, although all pelt colors can be found in JuniperClan. Their eye color ranges greatly, but you could say that brown and green are the most common.
Having shared borders with the other three Clans has left JuniperClan rather standoffish towards everyone. They do not like to get into the quarrels of the other Clans or become allies with anyone. Usually, they will also try to draw a Clan into their territory to fight so that they can use the trees to their advantage for easy escapes or even surprise attacks from above.
Despite their distrust of the other Clans, JuniperClan cats are wonderfully loyal to their Clan. They can also often question the authority of their leader, never being afraid to question their leader's decisions. JuniperClan does not trust StarClan completely and often they will not accept guidance from their ancestors.

❧ Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
❧ Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
❧ Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.
❧ Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
❧ A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
❧ Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
❧ A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
❧ The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.
❧ After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
❧ A Gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
❧ Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
❧ No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.
❧ The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
❧ An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.
❧ A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
❧ Each Clan has the right to be proud and independent, but in times of trouble they must forget their boundaries and fight side by side to protect the four. Each Clan must help the others so that no Clan will fall.

Territory
JuniperClan's territory is a thick forest filled with oaks, aspens, maples, and other varieties of trees. The underbrush in their forest is thick, sometimes making it more difficult or even impossible to traverse across the ground. Because of this, you will often find their patrols climbing along the branches of trees and making their way through the dense forest from above, and there is plenty of prey to be caught. JuniperClan is surrounded by the other three Clans, so they tend to send out more border patrols than the other Clans and are more serious about border disputes. Rivers mark the border between JuniperClan and TeaClan and LilyClan. YarrowClan is the only one that isn't bordered with a river, so JuniperClan often spends the greatest deal of time guarding from them.
❧ The camp is nestled in a small ravine. Pawprints from previous generations have made the stone smooth. The slopes of the ravine offer walkways up and down the camp and a small stream runs through it. This stream leads out of the camp through a narrow tunnel assumed to have been made by a river.
❧ Sunlit Meadow is the only section of JuniperClan that isn't filled with trees. It a medium sized meadow that is often home to mice and some other prey. Apprentices are often brought here to first learn how to hunt since it is much easier than trying to stalk a bird through the treetops.
❧ Dusty Hollow is a small section of ground where the grass has been worn away, leaving behind just soft dust. The border of this hollow is made up of tall stones that stretch towards the sky. Warriors and apprentices will often come here to practice fighting.
❧ The Creek Ruins is a gathering of ruins from some bridge or dock. It is the perfect place for the elders to sunbathe if they need a break from the camp for a while, although they are always heavily guarded by warriors given the proximity to TeaClan, even if they are over the river.
❧ The Sky Tree is easily the tallest tree in JuniperClan. Its branches stretch higher than any cat has dared to climb. The bark of this tree is exceptionally soft, and young warriors and apprentices will often come here and challenge each other to a race to see who get farther faster.
❧ Greenleaf Twolegplace is off limits during greenleaf. It is often filled with Twolegs relaxing and is dangerous to go near during this time. There is a path leading to this place that the Twolegs will also walk along to get here, and that is to be crossed carefully.
❧ The Riverstones are a pile of boulders that almost block the water from meeting the river. They can be used as stepping stones to get from one side of the river to the other. JuniperClan and YarrowClan will often fight over the stones.
❧ Riverbank Clearing is another small area that is free from trees. It is often abundant with various types of prey, so JuniperClan will often also fight for ownership of it from YarrowClan.

Camp
JuniperClan's camp is nestled in a small ravine. A small stream cuts through the center of camp and heads out through a tunnel thought to have been carved by the stream itself. The stream is shallow, barely covering the paws of a warrior, and it flows rather slowly so there is little to fear from kits or anyone getting washed away in it. The camp's walls are all stone from the river that used to run through. The stones have been smoothed down from all of the cats that have walked upon them before. The trees and underbrush around the camp are so thick that the only way to get to the walls is to climb down from a tree, or through a few different tunnels that have been carved out of the thick tangle of underbrush. ❧ The fresh-kill pile is near the edge of the camp next to the stream. Some smaller rocks have been set around it to keep the prey in. The shade from the trees around camp keep it fairly covered so that it doesn't rot and no birds can steal it.
❧ The leader's den is centered against the northern wall of the camp. It is a small alcove in the rocks, and is somewhat hard to notice amongst the other rocks. It isn't very big with really only enough room for the leader and their mate. The outer wall is a rather large boulder that has just enough jutting out for the leader to sit atop it and address the Clan. This rock is simply called The Boulder.
❧ Directly across the stream and against the wall is the warrior's den. A large tree had once fallen across that part of the ravine, and the warriors' made their den here, using brambles that they had pulled from the forest to secure the roof and walls better. It is roomy inside and there are two entrances at either end of the den to make it easier for warriors to get out without bothering one another.
❧ The apprentices' den is to the left of the warriors' den. It is made from a small bush that was found growing in the ravine. Similar to the warriors' den, brambles and vines were gathered to help create a sturdier roof and wall. This den is rather small, and if there are more than ten apprentices, it can start getting rather crowded.
❧ The nursery is in a corner of camp near the leader's den. It is also a small alcove in the wall, although the nursery is much bigger than the leader's den. The entrance is low, but still wide enough for queens to enter. The interior is dark and it takes a few moments for eyes to adjust. The entrance is better hidden by a bush growing in the stones just above it. The bush's long branches fall in front of the nursery entrance, almost completely hiding it from view.
❧ The elders' den is in the roots of the fallen tree that makes up the warriors' den. They were better weaved together to make the roof stronger so that rain cannot get in, and the outer wall was weaved together better to provide more protection.
❧ The medicine den is located on the other side of the leader's den and is also a cave jutting into the stones. It is by far the biggest and the entrance is very open, which provides plenty of light needed to better look at wounds and care for the sick cats. There are a few premade nests in the front, and then a small entrance that leads to where the herbs are stored. The herbs are kept in various little gaps in the walls made from loose stones that had fallen out. This is also where the medicine cat sleeps, and there is enough room for the apprentice to sleep as well.
