Author’s note: This is my first ever attempt at writing anything that isn't school related, so I will request comments of any kind that aren’t harmful.
This is not a fanfiction but instead a story inspired by the books The Red Queen series, The Throne of Glass series, and the A Court of Thorns and Roses series.
Chapter 1:
How much snow and ice does it take to freeze a person's lips shut? Caelia thought as she stumbled over a rock for the third time that day. Blood was welling at the apex of her hand from the wolf whose teeth had bit open. Most would think that she was unlucky but instead she was glowing with joy. She had gotten food and it had only cost her another scar.
She was dragging the wolf's corpse across the forest floor when her family's small logged cottage came into view. She stumbled toward it dragging the wolf's limp corpse along with her.
When she reached the door she opened it and slumped inside to find her mother, Elizabeth and her brother, Axle feasting on the goat that she had brought in yesterday there canines snapping in the flesh, and their bat like wings flared as she walked in. Caelia gave a venomous smile, flared her own wings and joined in.
