Benno Tigs A man begins to die when he ceases to expect anything from tomorrow. ⎈ ⎈ ⎈ ⎈
If anyone were to get into a bar fight today, it would be Benno. You couldn't really blame him though, he'd been married to grief and beguiled by alcohol since he'd stepped foot in the pub. By now, the two vices had him in a headlock, as they stripped away his reasoning and sanity. He suffered and hit the bottle silently, none of his actions could be considered conspicuous. He was just another drunken sailor at the bar.
No, it wasn't what he was doing that stuck out, it was the heavy pouch that hung from his waist that caught his eyes. For every couple of drinks he would reach into the pouch and pull out a coin, that was well over what he was supposed to be paying. At this time, he'd paid for every drink he'd consumed thrice, unbeknownst to him. The bartender, who was all too happy to give Nicola alcohol poisoning as long as he kept paying, was just as happy to accept Benno's coins at his expense.
One of the patrons must have been eyeing him closely, since he apparently thought he could scam his hands into Benno's pockets. But the pouch had been tied tightly to his waist, and Benno was soon alerted by the tugging. He turned his cold, scattered gaze onto the man, sizing him up. He was roughly his size, but his sly grin told everyone he thought he was bigger than he really was. The one thing that could put Benno into real trouble, was that he was considerably less inebriated than Benno.
"You're drinking like you've just killed your mother, mate. Care to share the wealth?"
Benno's face screwed up, as if he'd just smelled something absolutely repulsive. No one would know what was going through his mind aside from him. The man's words were like a slap to his face, and they registered clearly in his mind. There was no way the man could have known what had happened to Benno's mother, but Benno hadn't thought about that at that moment. He let out a roar, and lurched to his feet, his raven hair falling over his eyes. He swept the strands aside, clutching the countertop to steady him on his legs, which felt like jelly. Benno noted that the man had a couple of inches on him.
The first punch made contact with a sickening crunch, right in center of the man's face. The sandy-haired male's nose began to stream blood, running down his chin. The next blow went in-between his 10th rib and his illium bone, and the male let out a strangled wheezing sound. He glared murderously up at Benno from his doubled-over position. His arm snaked behind Benno, who was rubbing his knuckles, on his left hand. One might have noticed that he was a leftie. Benno was delayed in figuring out what the man was doing, but didn't mistake the sound of smashing glass.
The man had smashed one of the bottles that the patron was drinking on, and shards flew everywhere. A fragment from the base of the bottle buried itself in Benno's arm, and he let out a low growl. There was no way he could be prepared for what his opponent would do next. The broken bottle was slashed down the side of Benno's neck, the jagged edges chewing through his skin. Benno let out a howl like a wounded animal, slumping into a seat to clutch his neck. Pain made his head ache, but he'd come into this world kicking and covered in blood, so he'd sure as hell go out that way.
Benno had hurled himself at the man, moving with such force that he knocked him over. His right hand locked around his assailant's neck, pushing down towards the ground. His left hand rained punches down on the man's face, and Benno panted wildly. Blood dripped from his neck, spilling onto the man's white shirt, staining it red.
Benno really should stop, before he ended up killing the man. It seemed though, that the blood loss would get to him first. It was hard to get him to stop though, once he got started.

(there was no traffic on the interstate god bless)
The Vile Squid's crew wasn't the only that frequented the bar. Three men shouldered their way through the door, each burlier than the last. Half of the bar grew quiet, their breath caught in their throats as they recognized the rest of the sandy haired man's crew. They belonged to a small pirate ship that seemed more focused on destruction that any sort of reward related to money. The patrons of the bar that recognized them were now slowly receding to the walls, grabbing their drinks, a few grabbing their food, as they prepared for the show.
"Burton, you have to stop starting without us-" The smallest began, beginning to shoulder off his coat. Stopping at the sight of their friend, presumably Burton, he looked up and around the bar, his face slowly spreading to an ugly, dangerous scowl. He had come here to get drunk, but he supposed he didn't mind getting into a fight, not if it meant teaching some punk a lesson. "Who?" Was all he had to say, his worlds barely more than a growl. Some bar patrons weren't slow to rat out the crew of the Vile Squid, point out each and every crew member. They had began to point towards Benno, but Nicola had escaped with him merely moments before the new opponents entered the bar.
Within seconds, Burton's crew members were standing before someone who called the Vile Squid their's. The shortest, so far the only to speak, was standing before Nemo, who he recognized immediately as the captain. Who didn't know who Nemo was? Recognizing him as the smallest of the members, though, should not take away from his size, as he was still around six feet, and his biceps alone were perhaps the size of watermelons. "Shall I swing first?"
The other two had divided and conquered, not bothered by being outmatched by the crew member's two to one. The tallest was in front of Benji, and didn't even hesitate before swinging a meaty hand towards the man's face. The last crew member was before Levi, barely taking notice of the child beneath the bar top. He let out a laugh, a deep sound that bellowed though the open air, and asked Levi, "Who is this? Your body guard? I didn't know the renounced pirates of the Vile Squid needed children to protect them!"
(I dunnp I tried lol have fun kiddos)

Benno Tigs Someday you'll understand why big enough storms are named after people. ⎈ ⎈ ⎈ ⎈
"I can manage on my own..." Benno muttered, flushing as he realized his vulnerability. Though he protested, he did his best to aid Nicola by holding up as much weight as he could. He couldn't help but feel guilty that poor Nicola had been the one left to take care of him. Ever a burden, Benno. He could already hear what the patrons were thinking about him, slinking back to his ship to lick his wounds.
He knew Captain Nemo and Reigns would probably give him a talking to, but he didn't much care. He was all too eager to get off of Millonae. The land was quickly turning bittersweet for him, as so far nothing seemed to be going right since the Vile Squid had docked.
He was glad that Nicola asked no questions, only offered his help. Benno was pretty sure he wouldn't be able to recount the unfortunate series of events that had led up to this moment. It would mean having to face reality, and Benno was a master at dodging that.
He staggered towards the boat, tripping occasionally, trying to think of what to say next. "Uh... Thanks for helping me out Nicky..." He hiccuped.
[ Dove Whenever you get a chance to put up a reply to Nicola and Benno, go ahead. No rush, just didn’t know if you saw it or not. I’ll be able to reply in a couple of hours. ]

(Oh yeah thanks man!)
Groaning, Nicola could feel whatever he ate for dinner starting to rise, but he forced it back down. He couldn't get sick now. Maybe later, if he had the time. All his will power was focused on keeping Benno and himself up right and walking. It was getting harder with each step, as Nicola had forgotten how drunk he was before he decided to play savior, and his entire side was now slick with blood. Thankfully, not his own, but it still made things difficult.
Crinkling his nose at the nickname, Nicola wasn't sure how he felt about it. "Don't talk." He replied with a grunt. At this point, he was unsure who was stumbling more: him, small, drunk behind comprehension, and under the weight of a very tall man, or Benno, who was just as drunk with half the amount of blood. It was a toss up, really. "Has anyone told you youre-" grunt, -"incredibly heavy?" A few more steps. "You're welcome." He mumbled.
(I'm sorry it's so short!!)

.REIGNS . If Reigns was being honest, her temper was particularly short that day. She’d wanted to speak with Nemo, find out why he looked like he’d had a brush with the Devil, but it looked like fate was against her. There was a sudden cry – a guttural, drunken roar that echoed in the pub and silenced nearly everyone in the building. Reigns stilled, eyes narrowing. She whipped around to watch Benno slam his fist into another man’s face with zero hesitation; his victim’s nose broke beneath the impact, and blood began to pool from the wound.
Reigns sighed, but before she could move to interfere, the battle began in earnest, and both men lunged at each other. Benno delivered a few more blows that brought the other man almost to his knees, but his opponent smashed a bottle and slashed at Benno. The jagged glass sliced through Benno’s throat, leaving behind a nasty looking cut. Reigns swore, lunging to her feet, and leapt over the table to offer her help, but she’d needn’t have worried. Enraged by the wound, Benno lunged at his opponent, collaring his throat and slamming him to the ground. She winced, and then glared at Nicola, gesturing to the drunken navigator to break it up. He did, along with a few other crew members. Staggering, Nicola led Benno out of the pub. His opponent lay sprawled on the ground, still and barely breathing. Reigns pinched the bridge of her nose, and let out another sigh. Before she could bark out orders, the door swung open and three massive men entered the bar. The one who was the smallest of the group began to speak, but stopped abruptly at the sight of his presumed friend Burton sprawled on the ground. Well, damn, Reigns thought to herself. She tried to give the bartender a look saying, ‘don’t you dare give us away,’ but some of the other patrons didn’t catch her look and ratted out the Vile Squid’s crew almost instantly. Ugh. The smaller one made a beeline for Nemo, and Reigns’ gaze darkened noticeably. He crossed his arms over his chest, presenting a pissed off giant routine that made Reigns roll her eyes. The sound of fighting increased in the pub, and Reigns allowed herself to whip around to face the one before Levi. “Touch him or the kid and I’ll split you from belly to brain and feed you your own intestines,” the woman snarled, clenching her fist. No one threatened Charlie; he was just a kid. She snapped her attention back to Nemo. “This one’s mine,” she told the captain. She waved him off, gesturing for Nemo to handle the one battling Benji. Reigns turned to face the smallest one, keeping her muscles loose and ready. Her face was blank, although her oceanic eyes were alight with a storm. The petite, five-foot tall blonde looked about as fierce as could be. She flexed her fingers, and waited for him to swing. He hesitated, as if afraid to fight a woman, but when his fist came flying towards her, Reigns went on the offensive. She bent to the left, dodging the blow, and stepped into the man’s personal space. She was small and swift, and most people tended to disregard her as a combatant. Bad move, as Reigns was probably one of the best – if not the best – hand to hand close combat fighter on the Vile Squid.
In a series of movements, she struck. She slammed the heel of her hand into the man’s solar plexus, knocking the wind out of him. A swift kick to the side of his knee knocked his legs out from beneath him, and at the same time she made a ‘C’ with her thumb and forefinger and jabbing the webbing of her hand into his throat, sending him to his good knee, since she’d dislocated and shattered one of the. She grabbed both sides of the man’s head and slammed it down on her sharply rising knee, obliterating his nose almost instantly. She dropped his head and danced backwards, eyeing the sniveling mess with disdain. How pathetic; all brawn and no brains. The blonde woman turned her attention to the one threatening Levi; having seen her incapacitate the one man in a matter of seconds, the patrons in her way stepped aside like she was parting the Red Sea. She glared at the man who’d threatened Charlie, daring him to give her a reason to attack.
