Alto nodded faintly at Ymir, their hands pressed down to the ground and eyes staring up at the clouds ahead. There was so much more motion here than her home, really, but the mood somehow hadn't changed. Kids were hanging back, pointing and whispering, but it was low enough that she didn't catch any words.
A pretty relaxing moment.
They tilted their head in acknowledgement for a moment before pulling the bag she had brought off of her back, rummaging around before finding a water bottle that was most definitely, surely not full of water, not that anyone could see what was inside. Solid coloring for containers was a godsend. Not literally. "Hm. My letter went 'whichever would get you here', so I guess I'm cashing in a big favor afterwards. That'll be cool." Tipping the water bottle up, she took a few sips of some cheap wine and set it back down, stretching a bit before settling back down.
Ymir had always seemed like the type to keep to herself. There was that prophecy, too, and the deaths and everything some kids had to go through during their time at the camp...but there was nothing you could do about it, they guessed. Getting stronger had a price.
"Cool. A more active life than mine, that's for sure," she chuckled, taking another sip and tapping her feet softly against the ground. "And your fashion is killer." Alto gestured towards her with the bottle and tipped their head. "I've needed time to relax, though. I'd have died if I stayed at New Rome any longer than it took to get a degree. Not like I'm doing anything with it." There was a strange sense of some kind of kinship with the other demigod. They were both pretty much adults now, both there for some sort of business, both of them had gone through some-
"Uh, what are you two doing here?"
Gods, kids got squeakier every year. Their ears were bleeding with that sound.
She raised an eyebrow from where she sat and shrugged, using it as a chance to kill two birds with one stone and answer Ymir. "Hell if I know. Want some alcohol?" They gestured to their bag, grinning like the cat that got the canary. "Gotta pass down good habits."
"Don't you dare," the same Hecate kid that greeted her before said, rolling their eyes and pulling the kid away- huh. Maybe they were ten years old? Were they also a Hecate demigod? It wasn't worth it to find out, but she did gesture with her water bottle at them again.
"C'mon. Do you want some?"
"No. Head to the Big House. Chiron's there, I'm pretty sure, or he'll be there soon. Don't offer more kids alcohol. You were bad enough for stealing it with magic your last summer here," they grumbled, pushing the ten year old away to join a few others. "I had to live with it."
"You loved me."
"Not right now," they snarked right back before striding off.
They groaned.
"Kids don't appreciate the good things in this world any more," they whined, more of a murmur than anything. Her eyes flickered over to Ymir's, though, and she shrugged. "Whatever. Anyways, I don't particularly feel like heading to the Big House right now. Centaur man can come over here and get us himself, if he wants us here so badly. There better not be a prophecy." Prophecies were a pain. There was no reason that she had to be the cause of her teammate's death. That just wasn't cool.

Kids were nosy, but if she were their age, then she would probably have followed their example. Despite being aware of them, Ymir's focus wasn't on the campers - instead, she stared vaguely into the distance, aware of Alto at the corner of her eye and the kids, too. The sooner this favour was done with, the sooner she could go home. It was motivation that drove her; she didn't care about cashing in the favour (though it was always good to have someone in her debt). Going home was her main concern.
Right. She hadn't really paid attention to Alto, but now that she thought about it, she remembered mentions of them going between Camp Jupiter and Camp Halfblood. Something about adopted parents, she didn't know.
Ymir didn't interrupt nor speak again while the scene in front of her passed by - she raised a slender eyebrow at the kids, waited to see what the response would be, and her face remained entirely blank.
When the one kid left, Ymir watched for a moment before she flicked her gaze back to Alto.
"That's not cool," she said, standing up. "Offering kids alcohol. They're just kids."
As pro-alcohol as she was, she didn't exactly enjoy the idea of adults offering it to kids. Sure, kids could ask to try it - but actually having adults offering to drink it? Hm. She shook her head a little and noted that some of the few remaining kids had moved back when she'd stood up - either surprised at her height or intimidated by her, one or the other. It wasn't a rare occurrence, and it took her mind off anything else. A few of the much younger kids seemed to hold admiration in their faces - it was more of a shock to realise that they were Hephaestus kids than it was for her to be admired. She frowned a little before turning to look at the other adult demigod.
"I'm probably gonna head up," she stated lightly, "after walking around Camp a bit. It's boring here and I'd rather get this over and done with, I guess. Then I can never be called in again."
Was that cold? She didn't know. Maybe it was. Ymir didn't mean to dismiss people, it just sort of happened - she was blunt and to the point and yeah, she knew it. She just didn't really feel like fixing it; she was an honest person and sometimes that meant being blunt about how she felt about a situation.
