Flurryfoot wad thrilled to see Morningflight eat the herbs. Perhaps her nerves would soothe and she could sleep peacefully for the night. The medicine cat was hesitant to let her leave, but perhaps by tonight if she were feeling strong enough, she could move to the nursery or... wherever she wanted really. The camo was in such disarray, she wondered if warriors had even bothered to sleep in their dens lately.
Her attention was again drawn to the front of the den, seeing Yellowstar's large frame hovering meekly at the entrance. She would have snorted at the sight of him looking like a terrified kit who had disobeyed his mother and had been scolded away from playing with the others. But now was not the time; she scowled at his presence, not exactly quite willing to let the tom in the den yet. She also knew that he was just emotional; Flurryfoot understood that quite well. "If you're done insulting me, you may come in... and see your... kits," she chided, faltering a little on her respite. It felt odd... referring to these kits as her leader's, especially when the queen was from Shadowclan.
Thistleflower had to be furious; she could basically feel the waves of spite and anger coming off of his pelt before Yellowstar left in the first place. The tom was a stickler for rules and Flurryfoot would be lying if she tried to disconnect that from his amazing skill as a medicine cat. He was a no-nonsense kind of cat and she had always seen him as the leader between the clans' medicine cats. Now, it seemed, he was the leader of his broken clan as well. She couldn't blame the tom for his anger; he was spread thin like the rest of them.
Flurryfoot focused on what really mattered, distracting herself from the boiling storm that was bound to overtake the medicine den. If any tensions sparked, she would be the first to kick those responsible out on their tails; Morningflight did not need any undue stress and neither did her weak kits. The medicine cat deftly scooted herself closer to the queen and spoke with a soothing voice, "You opened a lot of your burn wounds when you were kiting; I'm going to need to patch you up so you don't get an infection, alright? Let me know when you're ready." She did not wish to rush the queen and they had time to spare. Perhaps enough to let her and Yellowstar name the kits.

Looking back at the medicine cat, she flicked her ears with a level of uncertainty. She curled closer to the newborns, keeping the fallen kit close to her chest with a heavy sigh. Everything ached to the point where she was certain her limbs would clean fall from her body if she tried to stand up again. At her belly the newborns squirmed weakly, and the young queen had to keep adjusting them in order to keep them in position at the curve of her side. All she wanted was peace to look after her newborns, but the stress of being in a different camp, coupled with her grief was making it hard for her to think rationally.
But she knew that she needed to bury her son, she wouldn't leave the little creature to rot above ground, regardless of what was happening in the territory. He deserved a burial fit for a warrior, regardless of what blood would have run through his veins. That, surprisingly enough was her primary concern, not for her own health and safety.
"The little one, I need to bury him," she said with a weak voice. Her head resting on her paws.

((I never liked that whole plot point, (not that it couldn't be done here, of course, just in the book!) because Cinderheart was technically alive when Cinderpelt was still alive. Did they replace Cinderheart's original sprit with Cinderpelt? Did two Cinderpelts exist at the same time??? Did the kit ever HAVE a spirit???? So many unanswered questions!!!))

(Unless you'd like to rp Thunderkit, which I don't mind about. I quite like having other people roleplay the kits, it makes for a cute level of interaction and means its not just a back and forth between two of my own characters. So you'd be welcome to have him, or you Dag.)

((I'm okay without a kit! I've got my bb Whorlkit )) Flurryfoot draped a comforting tail across Morningflight's flank, trying to offer a small but of condolences. "We will give him a burial, I promise. One that would make any warrior proud," she assured her, "but your wounds need to be tended to as well. I'm sure you want to present for the burial and not confined here, yes?" She gave the queen a couple encouraging licks across her head. She flickered her ears and chuckled at the queen, "We could also throw you in the river for a bath, but I'll leave that for tomorrow so you can get your much needed rest." She hoped the queen would take her words in jest; she seemed to be a little delirious at the moment and mildly wondered if her herbs had finally taken affect. Thyme and chamomile sometimes blocked the senses from working fully and made for some amusing conversations.

Uncertainty plastered the queen's gaze, she would never live with herself if the little tom was forgotten, she was already terrified that he wouldn't have made it to walk alongside his anscestors. The queen buried her nose in the past kit's fur, it was already growing cold. It barely looked like a cat, and the shecat found herself morning a cat she would never have the chance to know.
Looking to the strange medicine cat with pain darkening her gaze, "Is he in starclan?" The fear was apparent in her voice.

» No, StarClan cats don't count towards the character limit. I've claimed the deceased leaders for myself (unless anyone wants to snag one of themself, I genuinely don't mind). Also I'm sorry Blaze >.< I read Brambleflight as Blaze for some reason and thought the kit was yours asdfgfd Gonna focus on Nov for now and will respond with Lilypaw and Yellowstar in just a bit.«
"I have no idea," Nov responded. "Maybe they're going to use the forest for themselves. I just thought you all should know." He swished his tail lightly, wondering himself why the up-walkers would do such a thing. Those tall creatures were strange.
He nodded in agreement to the deputy's words and rose to his paws. "Yellowstar's the fluffy one, right?" he asked. He wasn't very skilled at remembering names - clan names specifically. "You should probably be the one to tell him. And your Nighttree friend too," he added. He hadn't met many of the ShadowClan cats, so he wasn't familiar with who was in charge in that department. The whole clan situation as a whole was confusing to the tom. "I have a feeling the up-walkers will want to claim this land for themselves too. I don't know what that means for you, but I know it's not good."
Her next words completely threw him off guard, and the tom gazed at her in surprise. "I can take you if you'd like," he volunteered. He didn't understand why the she-cat would want to go see the travesty that ruined their lives. It was why he'd went to search the forest himself; so the clan cats wouldn't have to. "It's best to go early in the morning when the beasts are sleeping."

((It's cool. XD I was kind of confused about what was going on, anyway.
I need to claim some StarClan cats, probably...
And, are Nighttail and Flamerose going to eventually go to get their nine lives and stuff? O.o I mean... That's probably pretty far down the line. XD))
Flamerose nodded her head in agreement. "Probably." She remembered her mother telling her about how the Clans used to live somewhere far away before moving here to the lakes. Would they be forced to move again? There was no way they would be able to survive that kind of journey. "Twolegs are horrible."
"Yellowstar is the big one," Flamerose told him. Trying to remember all these names had to be difficult. "I will make sure to tell them both. Thank you, Nov." She replied, not much liking the fact that she had to thank him twice in one day. Loners were still not get favorite cats in the world, but she supposed that Nov might be a little alright.
"I can always go alone if you don't wish to go again." Flamerose said, although she didn't really want to venture into the destroyed territories alone. She had wanted to go looking for survivors and to know that Nov had gone and found none... it made her sad. She had held onto some hope that maybe some ThunderClan cat had survived, or even Rabbitstar, but knowing that they were all that was left was horrible.
Early morning. "Alright. I'll go tomorrow." Flamerose decided. She didn't want to waste any time.

>> Ooc << >> RP << Lichenpaw coughed, her lungs still ached a little from the smoke she inhaled although she was getting better. She exited her makesift medicine cat den which sat just outside the actual medicine cat den; she had just finished sorting herbs and now she looked for a cat who could help gather herbs with her. She looked around and spotted Wolffang sitting in the clearing she padded over to him and mewed friendly. "Hey Wolffang would you help me gather herbs?" She asked sweetly. ((I'm sorry! I just saw this!)) Wolffang had been waiting in camp for the next patrol to call him. Like many of the others, his lungs ached and he found himself cough for a moment before steadying his breathing. He was exhausted and hungry, but he knew he was not nearly in as bad of shape as many or the others. He sat up as Lichenpaw walked over. "Of course." He replied. "I don't know much about herbs, but I can try." He offered to the WindClan medicine cat apprentice. Herbs were just as important as prey, if not more so at this point. Happy that the patrol had finally set out, Mossheart tasted the air as if to revitalize her spirit. It still twinged of the sharp-fishy smell of Riverclan, and the Windclanner never thought she'd feel relieved by what she used to regard as foul. She ended up recoiling anyway, as the atmosphere was still smoke-laden, thick with soot and perhaps the scent of burned cats. She didn't want to dwell on that thought any longer and tucked her head down. For some reason, the warrior thought that getting out of camp would be a literal breath of fresh air; as it turns out, it was only figurative.
Despite this, the she-cat strode forward with as much dignity as she could among the Riverclanners. Her pelt may not have been as shiny as theirs, but she was proud of her lean body and powerful running legs. She was, however, distraught by the situation back at camp. "I don't think I have ever seen Yellowstar act like that... I know I'm an outsider to how he normally acts, but... he was always so calm and collected at gatherings." She shuddered a bit, recalling the ferocity of his voice when he called for Flurryfoot to attend to the queen. "I've never seen him look... so scared," she admitted.
At the mention of hunting, however, her doubts fell away and she flickered her ears. "I'm actually a little curious about how you guys hunt," she purred, "When I was an apprentice, we used to challenge each other at the lake shore to catch the minnows that swam by." The senior warrior looked a little sheepish at the mention of her childhood games, but added, "It was a very exciting day whenever we could manage to snag one." Mossheart's tail swished through the air, and she blinked cheerfully. "We could never quite get it right; I couldn't imagine fishing every single day!"

Beesplash took the lead as the small group left the camp. She decided to wait until they were farther from camp before she would try to scent the air for prey. If she did it now she’d likely just inhale the smell of smoke and ash that still lingered in the air. She fell silent for a moment, perplexed about the scene that had arisen in camp between Morningflight and Yellowstar. The deputy couldn’t get over how close they had seemed. She felt a bit anxious. We might have more issues than I thought... She thought with a frown.
Her ears twitched as the voices of Mistyheart and Mossheart caught her attention. She looked over her shoulder at the other two warriors. “That’s true. Kits born this early are weak.... We can only hope Flurryfoot and the other medicine cats can stop that from happening. “ She said with a small shrug. Her gaze flickered back ahead as they drew closer to the stream that cut through their territory. “Since there’s two of us RiverClan cats, I figured we’d try fishing first since we’re not that great on land. I doubt we’ll find much here anyways...” She meowed with a small sigh. She looked over at Mossheart. “We’ll probably have to venture out a little further to look for other prey. So we’ll have to rely on your skills then.” Beesplash explained, dipping her head to the WindClan warrior.
She was doing her best to relieve any sense of division between the cats. While she missed being around the familiarity of her clan-mates, she also didn’t want to cause further issues by old clan feuds. Though it sounded ridiculous with everything else that was happening, Beesplash figured pride could easily spark up causing a rift between the cats if given the chance. >> Ooc << >> RP <<
Mistyheart followed her deputy out of camp, coming up right infront of Mossheart. The whole with Morninglfight and Yellowstar left her on edge. Were all on edge, still recovering from the smoke and minor burns she had received. Although the she cat was almost fully healed, she only had a small cough and her burn wounds have stopped burning. The she cat then looked to Beesplash and then Mossheart. It was true Riverclan cats were the best at hunting on land but, she wouldn't doubt her hunting skills having caught three piece of land prey just the other day. It was hard but she did it, she smiled proudly at the flash back but then realized her clan mates might be watching her, she refocused her gaze and then gave herself a few embarrassing looks even though hopefully no one saw her. She turned her gaze to Mossheart and mewed, "It's very easy once you get the hang of it, Otherwise is takes a lot of practice." She mewed friendly.

Nov tilted his head to the side slightly. "Two-legs?" he echoed. "That's an interesting name. I like it. Two-legs." He purred in amusement, briefly distracted from the main topic, like usual. "You clamb cats are strange."
His green eyes searched hers as she spoke her next words, and a dissatisfied expression crossed his face. "I love an adventure," the tom stated, twitching his ears. "I was going to go back regardless. There were more parts to the land I wanted to see, so at least now I have someone who knows the area and can explain it to me."
He gazed down at her as his eyes began to sparkle mischievously. "Just the two of us, on a life-changing, bond-building adventure. Of course you wish for me to go."
---
"Of course he is," Yellowstar mewed from the front of the den. He walked in slowly, eyeing Thistleflower as he passed him as if challenging the tom to protest. He was calm now and had no intentions of hurting anyone. He wasn't going to let the ShadowClan medicine cat kick him from the den again, at least not without an argument. His posture was relaxed and he dipped his head to the tom to show respect, but the look in his eyes was never changing. He settled down next to Morningflight's nest and wrapped his tail around his paws. "We will hold vigil for him tonight, and StarClan will welcome him into the stars where he'll be safe and happy."
He gazed down at the living kits, watching them squirm and nuzzle their mother. He was no longer the RiverClan leader at that moment, but a loving father desperate to see his kits healthy and happy. He brushed his tail against them lightly, the small creatures consuming all of his attention. "And they will grow up to be fine warriors. Nothing will ever bring them down, I will make sure of it." He watched them for a while longer, their presence bringing him warmth and satisfaction. He was going to raise three amazing warriors. He was going to choose their mentors, and give them their warrior names... "I like Pinekit for this one," he mewed softly, poking his paw at the tiny she-kit in the middle. She had little tufts of tabby fur sticking up from her pink skin, and it reminded him of a pine cone. "Like the ShadowClan forest, yes?" He thought the name was clever, and waited patiently for his mate's response. He couldn't quite think of names for the other two and hoped she would fill in the silence with her owns suggestions.
Up until that point, he'd completely ignored Flurryfoot's presence. The reason for this was up to interpretation, as the tom himself wasn't quite sure. It could've been out of spite from the loss of his newborn, or fear of being scolded and removed from the den. Yellowstar was strong in many ways, but he'd never had the audacity to speak to his medicine cat in such a way before. Perhaps he feared the StarClan-connected feline would curse him for his foul play. Regardless of the reason, the tom managed to forget her existence until he finally rose to his paws and turned away from the nest, fixing his narrowed golden gaze on the calico she-cat. "Can I speak to you for a moment?"
His demeanor had shifted. He was no longer the overbearing father or hysteric parent. He was the RiverClan leader addressing one of his most trusted advisors alongside Beesplash. He tried to keep his composure, feeling Thistleflower's eyes burning into his coat. The ShadowClan medicine cat brought forth a feeling of uncertainty Yellowstar didn't quite understand yet, unaware of just how much trouble he could get into just from having the ShadowClan medicine cat familiar with his forbidden situation. He gestured with his tail for Flurryfoot to follow him out of the den, away from the felines inside to speak privately.

((I want to see what happens next. XD I want to know what thing you have in mind.))
Flamerose shrugged. "Of course. Up-walkers is just silly." She replied, mostly just because she was argumentative most of the time. "Us Clan cats think you loners are strange. Living all alone." She shook her head in pity. What happened when you grew old?
"Great." Flamerose was not particularly thrilled about being accompanied by a loner, although she knew it would be safer to have at least one other cat, and she doubted that any of the Clan cats would want to travel back through the destroyed territories. "I don't know what I can show you, but we'll see." Part of her wanted to see the Clans, but the thought made her sick.
She pinned back her ears. "I wouldn't say life-changing or bond-building." She grumbled and stood up, her tail tip flicking a bit. "We don't even have to talk. Just walk and say nothing." That was get dream, anyway.

» Hey! I think Harekit is really cute actually. Did you still want to claim the gender? I wanted to be the last one to pick aaah ;; I'm 50/50 on what I want my kit to be so I need the push. «
Nov chuckled at her words, clearly amused by the she-cat. "You wouldn't last a heartbeat without talking to me," he teased, flicking his tail. Her loner comment rubbed him the wrong way, but he didn't allow it to show. He simply ignored the retort and glanced elsewhere, his mind wandering as he imagined what it'd be like to join a clan. Surrounded by companions, tasked with day-to-day work... could he see himself doing that? Did that sound enjoyable for him?
He couldn't imagine himself confined to one area forever. He liked to travel and see new things. He didn't have friends because, well... they hindered him and held him back. Companionship was enjoyable when short-lived, but he knew no cat could ever understand his will to just be free. In the end, the lonely tom always chose life over friendship, and up until that point hadn't allowed it to get under his fur.
He snapped out of his stupor, fixing his eyes on the den where he saw Yellowstar escape to. "Let's tell him the news," he mewed a bit too cheerfully, nodding his head for the WindClan deputy to take the lead. He was eager to get the worst of his visit out of the way, and hoped to maybe share a meal with a fellow feline before departing. Or maybe he could stay, with the leader's approval perhaps. He'd been traveling for days and secretly looked forward to snuggling with a lucky clan cat.

(sorry about that, went to work. And best of luck Air! I'm sure you'll do awesome!)
Smiling weakly, the queen bent down pressing her muzzle into the little kit's sides. They were almost completely bald of their fur, except for a very fine layer which felt as soft as what she imagined clouds to be like. The largest of the kits, and that wasn't saying much, let out the tiniest purr at his mother's touch. Basking in the warmth of her belly, oblivious to the world around him. Though the cough still pestered at his lungs, the taste of milk at his lips helped to soothe the pain and for now he was completely content. Squirming a little, he nuzzled close to his mother's flank.
With a sad sigh, the queen licked her daughter's ear. "The forests she will hunt in will be very differents to the ones I knew," she said thinking with sadness that all the pine trees the kitten was named for were gone. "But they'll come back," she said mostly to herself. "She can learn to hunt among the forests," she said with an absent smile. Not guessing that her mate dreamed of raising them on the riverbanks.
"I like it," she said after a moment. Eyes a dark shade, flickering with tears but she managed to hold herself together. "How about Thunderkit?" she asked pressing her nose into the largest of her toms.

((Harekit is an adorable name. ;-; I love how they're all named after the Clans.))
Flamerose rolled her eyes, but otherwise didn't reply. Nov was egotistical and more than a little annoying, but he had warned them of what the twolegs were planning. So she figured that although he wasn't great, perhaps he wasn't the worse, and maybe she could deal with his presence for a little while longer.
She wasn't sure what was going on with the ShadowClan queen and Yellowstar, and Flamerose wasn't sure she wanted to know or get in the middle of it, but this was more important. No matter what was happening, Flamerose needed Yellowstar to set aside his feelings for this.
"Right. Let's go get this over with." Flamerose grumbled and headed towards the medicine cat den, wondering somewhat if they should wait until Yellowstar emerged or just tell him right away what was happening.

» Are you sure? I'll keep Pinekit as female if so~ Since I already included that in the post. «
During Yellowstar's silent observation of the kits, he listened to his mate's words, nodding in agreement after some time. "In memory of ThunderClan," the tom murmured softly. Everyone knew of ThunderClan's untimely demise, but it'd never truly been spoken or announced. This was the first time Yellowstar spoke of the clan's destruction, and it hit him like a badger. There is no more ThunderClan.
He gazed down at the final kit, wondering what the little tom's name should be. They'd honored ThunderClan and ShadowClan already, so why not WindClan as well? To all of the cats affected by the fire... "Harekit," he blurted out without realizing it. He glanced at his mate, waiting for her response. Every cat knew WindClan were rabbit-obsessed. Wasn't it a perfect name? "And for the little one..." he nosed the unmoving kit, falling silent as he fought back the pain building in his chest. Whatever name she decided on would be perfect for the kit, he just knew it. He exhaled slowly and sat up, listening to what his mate would say next before doing what he'd planned one doing; talking to Flurryfoot.
As he moved out of the den to speak with the she-cat, he spotted Flamerose and Nov approaching from the other side of the camp. He sighed, knowing that he'd have to put his conversation with Flurryfoot on pause to hear what they had to say, knowing by their expressions that they were searching for him. Whether or not the medicine cat stayed to listen or not was entirely up to her as he settled down and wrapped his tail around his paws, waiting patiently for them to reach him.
--
Nov followed after the she-cat, trotting lightly on his paws. He didn't dare speak first, recognizing the look on Yellowstar's face as an I would rather not be disturbed kind of look. He waved his tail politely, settling down in front of the leader and dipping his head, mimicking what he saw a clan cat once do.

Though technically, the deceased kit would represent RiverClan, since ThunderClan is already spoken for. Hmmm... what if I turn this into an omen... woooOOoooo.. «
