Flamerose was relieved when she saw Yellowstar step out of the den. At least she wouldn't have to bother him, or sit outside with Nov making more awkward small talk with the loner.
She stopped in front of Yellowstar and sat down next to Nov, wrapping her tail around her paws before she started to speak. "Nov saw twolegs with a beast out in the territories. They were spraying water from it." Flamerose's tail tip twitched a bit as she spoke, her voice kept low so others wouldn't hear.
"I want to go out there tomorrow morning to see it for myself." She kept her distrust of Nov's words to herself, along with what she was afraid this might mean. Surely StarClan wouldn't let them be destroyed by fire and then driven from their homes by twolegs?

(Omens! Yes)
The slender queen reached up to brush her nose against her mate's as he passed her, knowing the job of choosing a name for the tiniest kit would fall to her. She looked at the tiny creature with sadness, pushing her nose deep into his side with a sad purr. "You could have been so beautiful," he whispered quietly. Eyes brightening with tears as she watched her mate disappear from the den, "Pebblekit," she decided. After the small rocks on the riverbed, something which would always be ingrained her mind from their games in the bedrock.

Yellowstar flicked his ear, narrowing his eyes thoughtfully at the WindClan deputy's words. "Two-legs?" the tom echoed, shifting his gaze to Nov. "Is this true?"
Nov nodded his head, glancing at Flamerose before speaking, "I stayed overnight to watch them."
Yellowstar fixed his gaze back on Flamerose after the tom finished speaking, nodding his head slowly as he processed the information. "Hmmm." He glanced briefly to where Flurryfoot had been, wondering if the medicine cat stayed to grasp all of this. "Are you sure you can make the trip?" he asked Flamerose, his gaze returning to where she sat. Deep down, he liked the idea of the she-cat visiting the charred land since he couldn't do it himself. He prayed to StarClan for survivors, or any indication that ThunderClan was still out there somewhere. The forest-dwellers had given him the least amount of problems during his reign as leader (possibly due to not sharing borders with the clan) and carried a deep amount of respect for Deerstar. To know that another leader was still alive, specifically the leader with the most knowledge and wisdom, would bring Yellowstar a lake's full of relief. It would mean he wasn't in this alone, and although he respected the other clan deputies and acknowledged them as rightful leaders, he deeply desired the companionship and guidance of an experienced clan ruler.

The slender queen twitched her ears as she caught sounds from outside the medicine cat den and her eyes narrowed a shade with caution, detaching herself carefully from the newborn kits. She slipped to her feet and out of the medicine cat den, a look of concern darkening her expression as she came to stand by the other warriors. She didn't acknowledge her mate, hoping to salvage some of their reputation for the both of them, even if it seemed very unlikely. She tilted her head to the side, fearful. "Twolegs?" She asked, her worry apparent. "Do you think they'll find the camp?"

Flamerose was thankful that they at least still had Yellowstar, even if she had some suspicions regarding Morningflight. After all, why would the RiverClan leader care about her being in labor unless something was up? Despite that, she knew that he had plenty of experience leading a Clan and would know what to do.
Her dark green eyes narrowed in response to Yellowstar's question. "Of course I can handle it." Flamerose responded, now feeling as if she couldn't back out of this if she wanted to. In this time of uncertainty, she couldn't appear weak, especially if what Nov said was true.
"Should we tell Nighttail?" She hadn't seen much of the ShadowClan deputy and assumed that at this point, ShadowClan was being run more by their medicine cat than anything. Flamerose couldn't help but feel bad for the poor medicine cat.
Flamerose looked at Morningflight as the new queen stepped out. "Of course not, Morningflight." She responded, trying to be somewhat reassuring. Flamerose knew that she needed to focus on her kits and her own health right now, so being worried about this wouldn't help. "We'll take care of it, don't worry."
Now, she itched to be out of the RiverClan camp and exploring the destroyed territories even more than before. Flamerose couldn't handle dealing with any more worried cats.

Morningflight looke over to the Wind clan cat, it wasn't hard to tell what her primary concern was. Her newborn kits curled up in her nest, she looked at the warrior. Doubt alight in her dark blue eyes, she seemed very uncertain. "I wasn't aware Windclan had figured out a way to fight off two legs," she said firmly, not meaning to sound as rude as she had done but she had concerns outside of basic manners in that moment.

Yellowstar turned to where Nighttail was nestled up in a pile of dry mud, sound asleep. "Yes," he responded, a look of distaste appearing on his face as he frowned. He held memories of how bodacious and powerful the ShadowClan deputy had once been. The tom used to advocate strongly for ShadowClan during gatherings, and he'd even managed to pin Yellowstar down in a border skirmish once, many moons ago. He didn't understand the sudden change in the feline, and he didn't really care. He was actually quite okay with Nighttail being as weak as he was, for it made what he planned on doing next much easier.
He turned his attention to Morningflight as the she-cat poked her head out of the den, sticking his tail out to block her at the first sign of hostility. The last thing the she-cat needed was to over exhort herself in an argument, as he knew how defensive Flamerose could get.
"They were pretty far away," Nov pitched in, shifting his green gaze on Morningflight. He didn't quite recognize the she-cat - but then again, many of the clan cats were still strangers to him. "They don't seem very interested in your Waterclamb camp." Atleast not yet.
Yellowstar nodded his head to Flamerose. "Tomorrow morning, at dawn. Be sure to see Lichenpaw before you leave." The other medicine cats seemed preoccupied with the well-being of his kits, or so he hoped. That left Lichenpaw, and the idea seemed fit to him since the she-cat was also of WindClan. He began to rise to his paws to fetch FLurryfoot when a sudden thought crossed his mind. The talk about medicine cats reminded him of somwthing, and he needed to voice his concerns to the fellow leaders. "The Moonpool," the tom mewed, settling back down and fixing a firm gaze on Flamerose. "Perhaps you can make time to stop by there as well?"

Morningflight regarded the stranger with a careful look, though it wouldn't have been easily described as a mean look, only one of concern around a newcomer considering her newborns were mere metres away from them. She watched him for a moment, not speaking until she at last decided with a. "Thankyou," she said, unsure of what else to say.
The shadowclan queen ignored her mate, and her eyes wandered the clearing until they fell on the tom who had been her deputy. Once upon a time she had considered him a friend, but now the tom was but a shell of what he had once been. Not that she could bring herself to hate the deputy for it, he had been one of the cats to lose the most of all of them. She lowered her head with a sad look, wishing she could do something to cheer the deputy up.
Looking back at her mate and the other cats, "If necessary, I can talk to Nighttail, see if I can do anything to wake him up," her choice of wording was poor, but the meaning was conveyed easily enough. "He's clan, I have to try."

Flamerose followed the older tom's gaze to Nighttail. Being on opposite sides of the lake, Flamerose had never interacted with the ShadowClan deputy much, but he had seemed like such a strong warrior. It had been easy to see why Smokestar would choose him as the next leader, and yet here he was, a shell of his former self. The fire had been difficult on everyone, but it was easy to tell that Nighttail had been affected the most by it. She didn't really want to speak to the tom, but he was the next leader of ShadowClan.
At Morningflight's remark, all sense of trying to be nice fell away from Flamerose. Her ears pinned back and her tail started to twitch, but she tried to bite back any harsh words and let Nov and Yellowstar deal with the ShadowClan queen. Getting into a fight wouldn't do any of them any good right now... even if all Flamerose wanted to do was argue with this mouse-brained ShadowClanner.
"Of course, I'll check in with Lichenpaw." Flamerose responded, her hostility towards Morningflight subsiding somewhat as she looked once again towards Yellowstar. It pained her to know that Lichenpaw would never finish her training under the WindClan medicine cat, or even receive her name from them. "The Moonpool?" She echoed. "Just to make sure that it's still there? Yes... we can stop by." Would StarClan even grant her and Nighttail their nine lives if they went there? It was something that Flamerose had pushed to the back of her mind.
"Or you can go back to the den and take care of your kits." She replied to Morningflight without actually looking at the she-cat, her voice laced with some annoyance. Flamerose figured that maybe a fellow ShadowClan cat could get Nighttail out of his spell... but then again, if Thistleflower couldn't, why would Morningflight suddenly be able to? She doubted that she could get him out of it, although Flamerose did understand what he was going through -- she had lost her leader, and had listened to the screeches of her dying Clanmates. She had been thrust into being the leader of WindClan at the worst possible time, just as Nighttail had been.
"I'll go tell him right now and get it over with." Flamerose said, rising to her paws. "Is there anything else we need to discuss, Yellowstar?" She asked, not wanting to leave the RiverClan with more unaswered questions before she headed over to Nighttail.

Unappreciative of the pinned ears considering how closer her newborn kits were to this seemingly hostile shecat, the queen narrowed her eyes but otherwise said nothing in regards to that part. Not in the mood to start a fight, nor was she in any position to be starting arguments considering everything she had been through that day, she let out a low growl of frustration.
"Oh yes," she replied with a grumble at this. Her patience giving out, "I'm sure some mousebrainned Windclan cat will be able to bring him back to normal if his own clan cant." She replied, baring her fangs very slightly.

((Sorry guys, I was in a food coma all day. I'm... gonna roll with the omen thing~))
Flurryfoot had no idea how to respond to the queen's question and stood with her mouth agape. "I... I've seen kits in Starclan before -- bless their young souls -- I... I don't see any reason for him to have not made it," she offered a little awkwardly. The dead kit had obviously been the runt and was underdeveloped much more than his siblings had been; she wondered lightly when life actually began within the queen, but shrugged it off because it was not something she needed to deal with right now. She remained quiet at the couple naming their kits, and offered a small smile to the grumpy Thistleflower; he at least had to admit that it was an uplifting scene, despite the forbidden origin of the parents.
Now, the gray calico hated interpreting things with a cloak of omens; so much was left up to her world view and projection that it almost felt filthy and wrong to attempt to rationalize the dead kit as a possible curse. Yet, she couldn't help but notice that the three kits were named after three clans, leaving only Riverclan out of the mix. That made sense, she figured; Riverclan was... alright. They fared the best out of the clans and would probably survive. Her pelt prickled at the thought of them naming the dead kit after Thunderclan and knew that that, while perhaps accurate to the times, would have been severely inappropriate.
Perhaps it was best to leave Riverclan out of the names... yet she looked at her clanmates a little skeptically, wondering if they would even bother to name the dead kit. She hoped dearly that they wouldn't name it after Riverclan, otherwise, she might have to re-evaluate her hypothesis. She didn't want to interject anything, afraid that her words might affect the scene playing out in front of her. Flurryfoot's stupor was broken by a light inquiry from her leader. "Can I speak to you for a moment?"
Broken out of her thoughts by Yellowstar, she murmured a small, "...Yes, that is fine," to him, hoping dearly that this was official business and nothing more than such. If he ended up yelling at her again, she'd probably break down in the closest thing that cats had to tears. She stood to her paws and dipped her head at Thistleflower, "I'll leave her to you. Sorry for being snippy at all to you; we're both under a lot of pressure right now," she mused, blinking cheerfully at him. Flurryfoot then padded close behind her leader, letting him exit the den fully before she emerged.
Her eyes moved with Yellowstar to the two approaching cats, Flamerose and... what was it again? Nob? She narrowed her eyes at him, trying to recall what he was called. She faintly remembered that he had been with the clans, helping in any way that he could to get cats out of the flames; Flurryfoot was grateful for him, really. However, she had been so busy in the last few days that she hadn't bothered to even remember his bravery. Of course, realizing that she had kept her eyes narrowed suspiciously at the tom, she quickly stood up straight and blinked her eyes trustfully to him.
The talk of two-legs bristled her fur; there were stories from generations ago about a great journey due to two-legs driving the clans out of their first territory and she dearly hoped that it wasn't happening again. It seemed heavily possible, she knew, as two-legs were capable of ridiculous feats of engineering and change. She listened to the loner with great interest, doing her best to soak in the information and not saying too much; she was bone-tired after the whole ordeal.
She did let out a little sigh as she heard Morningflight poke her head out and pipe up about the conversation. She felt like her words about 'rest' and 'getting your strength back' were lost on deaf ears, but she obliged the she-cat; it was only fair to let her listen to such an important conversation. So Flamerose and Nov -- that was it! -- would head out the following morning to investigate. "Uh... please be safe... Two-legs are capable of ridiculous things... expect anything and everything," she interjected, feeling her stomach clench.
At the queen's mention of speaking with Nighttail, Flurryfoot finally had to put her paw down. She looked firmly, yet gently into the queen's eyes. "No, no no," the medicine cat snorted at Morningflight, tutting gently at her proposition, "I don't think so; not you! You're going to rest with your kits before you do anything stressful." She flickered her tail and puffed out her chest, "If anyone should talk to the mope, it'll be Thistleflower." She admittedly hated that she was thrusting more work on the tom in her mind, but she knew that it was not Morningflight's job to talk some sense into the depression stricken deputy.
((Not going to lie... I can't wait until we have a time skip and I can finally bring Ham into the mix.))

The queen looked less then certain, looking back to the medicine cat with a frown etched into her golden expression, sadness flickering into her dark eyes as she looked at the ground without a word for a moment.”his parents broke the code, what if they didn’t let him walk among them, because of what I did?” She whispered, the fear apparent in her eyes.
“He’s my clanmate,”she told the medicine fat with a sigh, pretending as though it didn’t exhaust her to just remain on her paws in that moment. “I’m not useless yet,”

Milky, are you fine with the time-skip as well? If so, then we can have the brief interaction occur between Nighttail and the others and then skip to late evening. I'd say skip to dawn, but there's something I want to get out of the way first.

Flurryfoot gently reassured the queen, "Starclan cannot fault a kit for the parents' doings." Her eyes shifted lightly to Yellowstar "Don't... don't blame yourself too much, dear, it doesn't matter at the moment," she added, "The fire didn't happen because of you and him; the kit didn't die because of you and him. Sometimes... sometimes the world is just unfair." Flurryfoot felt her eyes droop as she thought of it, "Forbidden relationships happen... there's no reason that Starclan would see yours and Yellowstar's relationship as more punishable than another."
--later--
The medicine cat smiled at her, "I know you're not useless, but you're concerned for his well-being more than your own, right now; that's why I need you to rest. But perhaps we could wait until tomorrow; Nighttail looks peaceful sleeping at the moment and there's no rush for him to know yet. Is that fair?" she offered, noting the exhaustion that lined the queen's face. She didn't rush her to the medicine den quite yet, in case she still wanted to listen to the conversation.

"No." Yellowstar shook his head at Flamerose's words, "Not just to check up on it." He met her eyes, hoping to silently communicate to the she-cat what he wanted done. StarClan has been silent with them, and he needed to know what his ancestors intended for them to do. He'd planned on eventually going to the Moonpool himself to see, but now was a better opportunity than ever. Surely the sacred place wasn't destroyed in the fire too, right?
His eyes shifted to Morningflight, but Flurryfoot beat him to the scolding. The medicine cat was right, she needed to rest and save her strength. And besides, he knew how temperamental his mate could be at times, as it was clearly demonstrated by the way she responded to Flamerose.
"Why don't you both go?" Nov quipped, piping in once more to try and help. Yellowstar didn't seemed to approve of his idea either.
"Nighttail doesn't need an entire patrol of cats disturbing him," the golden tom responded blandly. He was growing annoyed quick, his lack of patience beginning to show greatly. He was sleep-deprived and stressed from the countless activities he'd partaken in that day, and it was beginning to show in eyes. "Then again, do whatever it takes." He rose to his paws, wondering if he could sneak a few heartbeats of sleep into his schedule when he suddenly remembered his plan to speak with Flurryfoot. He growled lowly under his breath; so much for a nap. He swished his tail silently, waiting impatiently for the cats to decide on the simple task of who was going to speak to Nighttail, unable to leave until he'd properly spoken with Flurryfoot.

» Hmmm. This is a tough decision. Aw man I really hate skipping xD What I have planned isn't toooo crazy, just some stuff to stir drama and finally deepen the plot.
Alright, how about this: We skip to the evening now. The patrol can return with a decent amount of prey (far better than previous patrols), and the discussion with Nighttail could have been put on hold due to the tom sleeping. I'll post starters for the evening, and then you all can follow suit. All in favor?

((That works for me!))
Not being in the medicine den any longer had a curious effect on Flurryfoot; she didn't quite feel in command anymore. When conflict arose in her den, she could simply kick the offending parties out and no one could quite complain. Well, they could, but it would be met with a quick 'did you expect anything less?' from clanmates, generally. It was a nice feeling, the she-cat wouldn't lie, to be able to resolve conflict with a firm yet kind "Get the heck out, or your tail will be pinned to dry next to my supplies."
Now it felt like she could cut the tension that laid thick in the air with her claws, much like the foam that formed on the lake-shore. She shifted nervously on her paws, and nudged Yellowstar a little to calm himself. She wasn't going to pretend, of course, that time wasn't slipping away and she herself felt her paws get antsy at the idea of losing more cats on the island due to getting preoccupied with other clan drama. She did have to shake herself clear of these doubts, however, to remain calm and collected, as well as sane in front of the entourage of cats.
