Flamerose also didn't want Lichenpaw coming along, but she would probably end up being a decent asset. And Nighttail was right. They needed to get moving now if they wanted to make it there in time. She glanced up at the sky, then back to her companions. "Alright. Lichenpaw, come along, then. We're leaving now." She decided. The travelling herbs were already making her feel somewhat stronger, although her body was still somewhat weakened from the fire, even if she had gotten away with almost no injuries. She turned and started walking away, out of the camp. Although Flamerose was nervous, she kept reminding herself that this was what she had signed up for when she was made deputy of WindClan. She had to do whatever she could to preserve the Clan, even if deep down inside, she had a feeling that they wouldn't be able to survive alone. A little part of her wondered where Nov had wandered off to, but she knew that his help wouldn't be needed at the Moonstone, but he had at least known about the big monsters that they were supposed to also check out. To Flamerose, that felt like a huge asset, but she knew that the three of them would be able to handle it alone. The Clans had never needed help from non-Clan cats before, and that wouldn't change now. >> Ooc << >> RP << Lichenpaw bouned with joy as she followed Flamerose out of camp, she didn't need to take any traveling herbs having traveled to the Moonpool many times. She looked around as they headed towards the Windclan border, Home oh how she missed it, she was tried of eating fish and wanted a juicy rabbit; not that she didn't like fish. It turned out she really liked it but she couldn't eat it everyday. She looked up to Flamerose, "If we have time maybe on the way back we can see if there are any rabbits?" She suggested, Rabbits had always strayed towards the Riverclan border anyways.

» Hey guys! Gosh I really hate poofing on you guys, but there's a family emergency and I won't be home for a few days. For Nighttail, Flamerose, and Lichenpaw, you guys can RP the journey there if you all like. I don't want to hold that part up. And Littleflower if you'd like, you can have Morningflight run off to help Flurryfoot. Just know that Yellowstar will be so pissed xD I'll try to come on often but the next few days aren't guaranteed. «

(alright, finally gonna try and respond to Hamlet and Nov XD Unfortunately, I will have to vanish until Sunday night or Monday sometime, and I hate to stall any plots in the meantime :( if we need to, with the deputies meeting up with Smokebreath and Fernleap, they can meet up on the way back if I'm not here before then. As for Nov and Hamlet... sorry, not too much I can do there :/ )
As they neared the barn, Redwing suddenly balked as cat-scent washed over him. For a moment, he felt a ray of hope- was it a Clanmate?- but he quickly realized that the scent was far too... soft to be any cat from WindClan, or the other Clans for that matter. Next to him, Dusky looked concerned, pricking her ears as she looked for the source of Redwing's discomfort.
"What is-" she started, but was quickly cut off as kittypet called out, drawing the eyes of all three wildcats to the tom. Instinctively, Redwing took a step back and slid out his claws, ready to fight if need be, but Dusky appeared less hostile. "Ham! You're alright," she meowed, raising her tail in greeting as the tom approached. Realizing that the two knew each other, Redwing allowed himself to relax, though he didn't entirely let down his guard as this "Ham" cat came closer. Nor did he bother to hide his annoyed expression when the kittypet asked if Dusky had "found someone to add to the family," though he did bite back a snappish remark.
"I'll be f-f-f-f-ine," Midnight answered, stifling his coughing and wheezing with the effort of speaking. "Don't w-hhh-worry."
"Shh," Dusky meowed, flicking her brother with her tail. "This is Hamlet, or Ham for short," she added, looking at Redwing and flicking her tail towards the kittypet. Redwing inclined his head slightly, but didn't let his hostility abate entirely. "And this is Red-" she began, but again was cut off by an unfamiliar voice.
"Howdy."
Redwing narrowed his eyes in annoyance at all the newcomers, and had to stop himself from chastising Dusky for not warning him that the barn was such a popular place for non-Clan cats. As the second tom strode out of the shadows, Redwing again let his claws slide out, just in case- this tom looked far more formidable than the first, far more of a wildcat of some kind than a kittypet. The Clan tom looked on in silence as Hamlet spoke to the newcomer, flopping down in apparent defeat at their current predicament, and was nearly unable to contain his annoyance at his dramatic display. It's not like he's the one who had to carry Midnight all the way from the thunderpath, he thought, his tail-tip twitching. Still... Redwing couldn't help but think of his concern for his Clanmates, no matter their current situation. If Ham was friends with Dusky and Midnight, Redwing supposed he could understand his worry, even if it did seem a little... melodramatic.
"We're fine," Redwing finally put in, lashing his tail. He wanted to get moving again, if neither of these cats were threats. He wanted to get to RiverClan and see if they knew about the damage, or which other WindClan cats had survived. He wanted to actually get Midnight help, instead of standing around talking about getting him help. Not to mention, his legs were beginning to tremble from the effort of carrying the tom, even as frail as he was, and he was sure Midnight couldn't be all that comfortable either.
Dusky cast him a quick glance, before nodding at the other two. "Yeah, Redwing is gonna take us to, uh... RiverClan?" she meowed, raising one eyebrow at the Clan tom as if to confirm that was the Clan's name. "He says that their medicine cat can help Midnight."
Yeah, just announce where we're going to strangers, Redwing thought, narrowing his eyes at the two toms. Well, perhaps they weren't strangers to Dusky, but they were strangers to him, and at this exact moment, with his patience trickling away by the heartbeat, that was really all that mattered.
"Exactly, so if you don't mind, we'll be going," he meowed, perhaps a bit shortly, and made to go around the two unfamiliar toms. Dusky cast a quick glance between them, as if there was more she might want to say, but if there was she held it back, and just trotted dutifully after Redwing.
» «
"RiverClan?" Nov suddenly echoed. He tore his green gaze away from the distraught barn cat who lay sprawled out on the ground near his paws and rested it on Redwing. He just knew there was something awfully familiar about the way the tom carried himself. He seemed tense and defensive, as if prepared to dig his claws deep into Nov's pelt if he so much as breathed too hard. That's how the WindClan cats had treated him when he first arrived at their camp to warn them about the fire, but it hadn't taken them long to realize that he was there to help.
The tom's small body and long limbs were also unmistakable; although Nov didn't recognize the tom specifically, his figure was a clear indication that the tom was a trained WindClan warrior. Dusky's inquiry about traveling to RiverClan was just the confirmation the red tabby needed as he locked his eye with the warrior's. I've found a survivor.
He held the WindClan tom's gaze for some moments before speaking, "Are you from WindClan?" He knew the answer to his question already - Nov observed many things and was quite smart despite his egotistical persona - but felt the need to ask it anyway, perhaps to warrant a response. Maybe excitement, or praise for being able to come to such a conclusion so easily.

Nighttail grunted and flicked his tail. Rabbits he thought as the image of the half-eaten one he'd snacked on earlier flashed in his mind. WindClan cats are strange.
He kept his muzzle shut as they journeyed towards the Moonpool, deciding Flamerose could be the one to entertain Lichenpaw with conversation since she was her medicine cat.
Scents of other cats wafted pass his nose, but he was too caught up in his own thoughts to pay them any mind, or care for that matter. He didn't regard RiverClan's territory as worth defending, and he was sure that the mouse-brained RiverClan leader welcomed the presence of kittypets and outsiders in his territory anyway.
It wasn't until they'd crossed into the moorlands and the grass beneath his pads gave way to ashes did Nighttail finally decide to speak. He glanced sideways at Flamerose, watching her ginger pelt shift in the chilly breeze for some time. "Do you think the Moonpool is still there?" he asked, shifting his gaze away from her to look forward once more. Despite the heavy pessimism that's been clogging his better judgment the past few days, he had no doubt that the Moonpool would be there once they arrive. He was more so just curious to see what Flamerose would say on the matter, and to see what state of mind she was in.

Very aware that he was outnumbered, but not that he cared. He was a massive tom by most standards, and would die protecting the shecat he loved. He regarded the strange tom with a level of concern, his own tail twitching left and right in obvious frustration, concern and anger. His fur bristled until he was almost twice the size he would have been, and he was a threatening sight to look at. One move and he would have happily fought these cats to the death, but for now he sat still. They could save his kits, and that was the only reason he wasn't angrier.
At the words of the medicine cat the young tom merely flashed his fangs in an ill tempered manner, his fear for the shecat taking over most of his logic. "Look after my mate."
Frustration lighting her expression at the firm words of her mate, she remained in spot for a moment. Ears flattened as she watched the quickly disappearing medicine cat pelt away, looking concerned. She seemed to soften at the mention of her kits, and the concern seemed to brighten her but it quickly left. "She could get herself hurt," Morningflight insisted with a level of uncertainty. » We should write a backstory for Yellowstar and Morningflight <3 «
Yellowstar sighed in defeat. What dangers could there possibly be in the territory? The fire scared off many creatures of the forest; StarClan wouldn't be so merciless as to let them be ambushed during such a terrible time, right?
Still, the determination on Morningflight's face was unmistakable; this she-cat was not going to quit 'til she knew Flurryfoot was safe. The medicine cat had helped her deliver her kits after all, so it was clear to most that Morningflight held great appreciation for the she-cat. Yellowstar didn't quite understand that though, especially since he'd once blamed her for the death of Pebblekit.
"Alright, come on," he mewed, turning to face the direction Flurryfoot had vanished to. He wasn't in the mood to argue - and possibly physically fight - the ShadowClan queen in her sick state. She was stubborn, and there was no changing her mind once it was set. Keeping his tail wrapped around her figure, her walked forward slowly, keeping his eyes trained on her intently the entire time. "But we're going back to camp as soon as you realize that Flurryfoot can handle herself."

Until he had at last relented, the queen had strongly contemplated running off regardless of his wishes, stubborn to the core and more naive from her younger age she twitched her nose in frustration. That scream hadn’t been clan, and for all they knew it could outnumber the kind medicine cat. There had been enough death recently, and she wasn’t about to let any more happen if she could do something about it. Her paws itched to bound after Flurryfoot, and she would have done if her mate had not at last agreed. ‘This place is hardly a home anymore, we don’t know what dangers could lie beyond,’ her words were quiet and the pain was apparent, already she had lost more than most would consider fair. Her mother, father, siblings and now tiny daughter. Even a much older cat would have struggled to remain as calm as she had managed, but she would do everything in her power to keep those who remained safe.
She brushed her muzzle against his, knowing he was kind to be so patient with her considering how much pain the young parents had been through. Then with a burst of speed surprising considering her struggling energy levels, but not nearly as fast as she would normally be. She pelted off in the direction of the vanished medicine cat, leaving her mate to catch up.
(What we’re y thinking of?)

Flamerose's pelt bristled at Lichenpaw's question, but she tried to keep down her bitter opinion. "No. There's nothing left here. Everything is dead. And we do not have time to bother with hunting." She growled at Lichenpaw. Nor did Flamerose want to spend anymore time here, where her family and the rest of the Clan had perished. Sometimes, she swore that she could still hear their wretched screams in her sleep. And with Yellowstar wanting to combine all of the Clans, there was no way that Flamerose wanted to spend more time away from the Clan.
She followed along with Nighttail and Lichenpaw in more or less silence. She thought that she was over this, but stepping foot into the destroyed territory and the ashy ground made her sick. How could Lichenpaw even think about hunting here and want to spend extra time in these hills? Flamerose had originally thought she would want to stop by the old WindClan camp but now, she decided that she just wanted to leave here as soon as possible.
Flamerose was drawn out of her thoughts once again at Nighttail's question. She glanced at him, but didn't reply immediately while she thought over the question. "I hope so, otherwise we have nothing." And if the Moonpool wasn't there, they wouldn't have StarClan to back them up in keeping the three Clans separate and alive. "Do you think this fire was StarClan's doing? Maybe they wanted us all to be one Clan."

She flicked her tail, irritated. She continued on, once she set foot in Windclan territory her heart sunk. The medicine cat apprentice was hoping that she could find any herbs, but she already knew that there would be nothing as she watched the medicine cat den burn. she missed her home, but could she even call it that anymore? out of the corner of her eye she saw a sprout of green through all the black, There was hope.

Keeping his gaze firmly on the stranger who now held his newborn daughter's life in his paws, the large tom watched carefully. The tension apparent in every inch of his muscular frame, but he said nothing. Even if he was clearly prepared to take the kit back if he saw something that he didn't like. For now though he kept his attention on the queen, ryhtmically licking her between the ears to try and keep her attention away from the pain, and let her know that he was nearby and was going nowhere. In that moment, wild horses would have had difficulty in attempting to drag him away from his mate.
