[Oakkit peeped his head up, unknown to where he was. He looks up to see a beautiful she-cat and her sister, both sound asleep. He looks around for his brother but he can't seem to find him. Not wanting to interrupt both the she cat and his sister he puts his head down nervously. His ears lying flat on his head, he decides to nudge his sister.] [Tigerkit wakes up and immediately looks around with panic in her eyes] Tigerkit: What did you get us into this time! [She hissed quietly, not wanting to cause a commotion] Oakkit: I didn't do anything, I'm as clueless as you are! [He whispered, ducking his head closer to his sister] Tigerkit: [She looks up to the she-cat and then back down at Oakkit] We should get out of here, I smell cats everywhere and you know what mama said about wild cats! Oakkit: [He hesitated to tell her] Mama's dead, sis. [He sighed looking down, eyes glimmering] I saw her dead and I blacked out afterwards, she was mauled by... By some monster! Tigerkit: [She looked down at her brother, not saying anything, just staring at him taking mental notes on his weaknesses] If mom's dead, then I'm becoming a wild cat. Oakkit: [He gasps in horror] But you're scared of them too! Aren't you? [still keeping his voice down] Tigerkit: [shrugged] Oh well, now they'll have to be scared of me.

"I guess." Bramblestorm commented. He knew that if there was a storm, then Robinclaw would enjoy it. She liked storms. Himself, he preferred not to get his pelt wet, but each to their own, he supposed. (I hope that that's what that expression means, LOL.) Bonefang could hear the faint sound of the river, he started to sniff the air to check for any danger. But as usual all her could smell was fellow clan cats and prey. "I don't even know why we bother with patrols, only a mouse-brain would try to cross the Rapid River!" he complained, he hated being around Rapid River it made the fur on the back of his neck start to stand on end.

Nightpaw nodded vigorously, "Yes, I can do it!" She was excited to try and impress Cinderfrost, although she was definitely still nervous about crossing the rapids. It was dangerous for a reason, but she didn't want to stay in camp & not try! It was important to collect what herbs they could before leaf-bare.

Cinderfrost sighed lightly at the youthful apprentice and gave an encouraging smile. She was eager as ever to do something as dangerous as cross the river; he couldn't ever believe himself capable of such a feat! He fidgited his paws a little, feeling pangs of dread claw at his stomach; Nightpaw was his responsibility for this trip, and she relied on him to keep her safe. A part of him knew, of course, that Nightpaw was brilliant, and that she could likely handle herself in many new situations. He was just keenly aware of everything that could go wrong. The tom steeled himself and stood to his paws. He gave Nightpaw a cheerful chirp, "Well, if you're ready, then by all means, we'll set out before sunhigh. But... be sure to eat something; going on an empty stomach can make you light headed," he chided lightly. The gray tom began to pad out of the medicine cat den, hoping to reserve some freshkill. "We can share something, if you'd prefer. I know my belly is in knots thinking about this trip," he offered, flicking his apprentice playfully with his tail on the way out.

She was excited, but she tried to school her features to look more dignified - she was going to be a Medicine Cat after all! Cinderfrost was nervous a lot, but he was a good mentor and she wanted to be a cat he could be proud of.

At her agreement, the medicine cat made a light chirp and pushed the rest of himself outside of the cavernous den, taking a deep breath of the autumn air. He glanced around, noting the shapes of his clanmates slowly coming into focus in the bright light. He saw Hailrush a few foxlengths away and his tail puffed up slightly. She looked immersed with her own apprentice at the moment and he quickly elected to make a beeline for the freshkill pile, avoiding her cold stare before she could even glance in his direction. Once there, he mulled over taking the squirrel or the sparrow laying limply beneath, finally electing the squirrel to be a good candidate for his hunger.

Nightpaw slowly followed Cinderfrost out, sitting a few feet away as he decided between prey. She saw him give a skittish glance at Hailrush, & she also noticed her brother Rainshadow sitting by the other Warrior. He looked over and gave her a small nod, which she gave back, knowing that her older brother wasn't as talkative as some.

"Is this ok?" He mumbled through a mouthful of fur, beginning to move a distance away from the freshkill pile; he'd be willing to change it if Nightpaw expressed a distaste for it. Cinderfrost's heart had ceased its nervous fluttering as the thyme he consumed managed to finally work its way into his system and he felt a small surge of relief cover him. Was he anxious still about the trip? Sure, but at least he could think a little more rationally as opposed to the unreasonable tensions that plagued his brain.

How about White and Rain? [ Sure, would you like to start? ] (Kay) Rainfoot was pacing around in a corner of camp, trying to figure out new defence techniques in battle. She needed someone to practice with, so she cast a glance around. The nearest cat was Whitefeather. “Hey, Whitefeather!”

When they reached the shore Bonefang took a moment to appreciate how soft the red-pink sand felt under his paws. He looked forward and saw the river, seemed actually calm for once.

Cinderfrost flicked his tail in gratitude and led Nightpaw a short distance away from the fresh-kill pile, setting down the squirrel before settling himself to eat. He ensured that the apprentice had enough space to help herself. He was a little hungrier than he the anticipated, and voraciously consumed his portion of the prey -- this happened more than he liked to admit and briefly recalled his siblings teasing him for the rate at which he ate; Cindermouth was their guess at what his name would end up being and it would have been a plausible name, he admitted, feeling his whiskers twitch lightly. He gently waited for Nightpaw to finish, tucking his paws under his body and glancing around the camp.

She needed someone to practice with, so she cast a glance around. The nearest cat was Whitefeather. “Hey, Whitefeather!” Whitefeather's ears pricked at the sound of his name. He turned his furry head to see Rainfoot, the Clan deputy. Lifting himself up from his resting place beside the Warrior's den, he sauntered up to her. "What do you need? Another patrol?"

“No, I need to try some new defence techniques.” She told him. “Who knows how long it’ll be before we’re invaded by an enemy clan?” She shivered, and then straightened up. “I need you to test these.” Rainfoot set to work teaching him techniques until their shoulders, paws and legs ached. “Okay...we can...stop..” Rainfoot huffed. After she has caught her breath, she added “I needed you to know these in case we need to teach them to the other warriors.”

Enemies came in all shapes and sizes, and you must be prepared. He and the gray she-cat sparred for a while, learning her methods and feeling satisfied when he got a few good hits in. After awhile, they broke apart, huffing. "Of course," he meowed. Just then, a cool breeze blew through the forest, refreshing his hot pelt. "Leaf bare is on the way. Prey will start getting scarce soon," Whitefeather commented, half to himself. However, he enjoyed the cold weather and the snow. The challenge of the hunt amused him, and of course, it was very pretty. He glanced up Rainfoot, quickly noting that she looked like a cat who would be very good at hunting in the snow, and then lowered his gaze again.

Rainfoot shivered. “We need to assign more warriors in hunting patrols.” Then her ears perked up, “Do you want to go hunting?” She asked.

Leaf Eye was sitting by the base of a large oak tree on the west side of the river, opposite of the clan camp. He was dragging his claws across the bark of the tree, with a determined look on his face. His whiskers twitched, his mind was deep in thought as he stared intensely at the oak tree.

Carefully watching his paw steps as he made his way over the to the edge of the first log, his claws sinking into the damp wood below. He looked at the second log across from him, he crouched down for a moment before launching himself across to the other log. Once he land he quickly scrambled to the other side of the river bank, flicking water off his paws.

"Sure thing...bossy." Bonefang whispered sarcastically under his breathe, hurrying up to keep up with Bramblestorm. He grumbled and followed close, flanking his fellow clan member. He looked around and sniffed the air checking for any danger.
