"Very nice catch!" Leaf Eye purred looking at Barkpelt's kill, "See you'll get better and find your place eventually." He tucked the squirrel between his paws. He chuckled at Barkpelt's comment about the young warrior being nosy. "I'm currently saying the cave behind the waterfall, your leader and medicine cats don't come by that often so it's usually empty. Plus the stone there is good from my claw carvings." Leaf Eye explained. He flashed a friendly smiled, "You're welcome to visit, chances are if I'm there then I'm wandering around the territory." he laughed knowing he wasn't suppose to be in the territory at all.
" That sounds amazing , living by the waterfall , " His eyes lit up , " I'd love to come and check it out some time . My sister and I never really went down there ; she's ... well , she can't swim , so she tends to stay away from water , so I did too growing up , " He admits , chuckling nervously . Deep down he wished he had done more for himself when they were younger , but he supposed now could be a good a time as ever to start . |

"Well the pool around the waterfall isn't too deep, so other than getting your fur wet you should be fine." Leaf Eye mewed, the tom looked toward the direction of the river and sighed. "You ever wonder how old Birchstar and his friends made it across that crazy river?" he asked curiously, his eyes turning back to Barkpelt's to see the other tom's expression.

 And now a scene from I Spoil Birchclan For Everyone ...
So Eaglestar gets his nine lives and thinks that picking a Deputy is stupid , and that becoming Dictator of Birchville is a much better avenue for Clan Domination . The clan won't stop tweeting him to hurry up and decide already so he mutes them for spamming and decides to play spin the bottle and leave it up to Starclan to choose the next Deputy .
[ Bottle spins , lands on Rosethorn , someone sneezes and the bottle turns to Rainfoot ]
Eaglestar : Perfect .
But it was not perfect .
Eaglestar : Rainfoot , you’re the Deputy now , I guess .

"I.. I will; thank you Rosethorn," The tom sheepishly mewed, keeping his blue eyes toward the ground. Cinderfrost bid her farewell as he felt his pelt burn; he hadn't honestly heard those words before from anyone. Perhaps maybe Nightpaw, but she was his apprentice and she never had much choice in the matter. He found that he had retained the view that his clanmates still saw him as a pathetic burden, unable to hunt or fight, even past the point of becoming the medicine cat. And sure, he had an inkling of the idea that he mattered to the clan, but he was important? That made his stomach churn, both in a small sense of pride as well as anxiety. Honestly, it was mostly anxiety.
He looked lightly at Nightpaw and offered her a reassuring smile. "Politics," he mewed meekly, unsure of how much Nightpaw wanted to hear. He lowered his voice a little, slightly unsure of himself for even mentioning it, "Rosethorn and I... well, we're not so sure if we agree with how Eaglestar is running the clan." He took a deep breath and felt his paws quiver a little, knowing that if any cat should know about his terrors, it should be his apprentice. "I.. a-am deeply afraid that I'll be sent to the elder's den before I am ready... you know, because of how skittish I can be." He brought up a paw to show his nervous quivering. "Eaglestar has already shown his paw with his exile of Morningflight. I.. I am very lucky to be a medicine cat; I barely made it through warrior training and had that fact held over my head for moons. The way everyone looked at me... I don't think I could go through that again."
He cleared his throat and sat delicately with his thin tail wrapped around his paws, feeling a bit of shame rise into his throat. "I'm sorry, you shouldn't have to listen to my ramblings. I don't want to soil your own opinions with mine," he mewed with a slight smile, "You did well today, thank you for your help." Nightpaw listened to Cinderfrost's explanation, and gently brushed against him when he was finished, in a show of support for her mentor. She wasn't sure if she should say anything or not, but secretly she agreed. Eaglestar was definitely ruling the Clan with an iron claw so far, and quite frankly it was both stifling and horrifying, like with what had happened to Morningflight. She hoped nothing like that would happen to Cinderfrost. He may be skittish often, but it didn't mean he wasn't a good mentor or worthy Clan member. He was just a different kind of cat, that was all. She practically purred at his praise though, pleased with the recognition. "Thanks, Cinderfrost!" she meowed gratefully. |

Cinderfrost felt a rush of relief as Nightpaw pressed against him in support; he was intensely thrilled to have… at least two cats that he could rely on for most of his insecurities. He shook his head clear of his thoughts and stood to his paws. “You’ll be a skilled medicine cat one day, Nightpaw” he purred, “I have no doubt about it.”
He looked at his paws, recalling Rosethorn’s inquiry about the kits. “Oh! Would you like to give the new kits a check over? I haven’t gotten around to that yet,” he asked his apprentice gently. He groomed the fur on his chest flat while waiting for a response.

"Not surprising, there's a lot you and your clanmates aren't suppose to know." Leaf Eye muttered bitterly, his anger not pointed at Barkpelt but perhaps at Birchclan itself? He made a deep sigh and smiled again, "Anyways, I strongly believe the reason Birchstar and his group made it across is because that rushing river you know today didn't exist yet." he mewed quietly almost like a whisper. The old tom's one good eyes glanced around, "I don't expect you or any of your clanmates to believe me, but I've seen the visions, I've seen pieces of the past that were shown to me. Things your Leader, or any Leader in Birchclan history would never tell you." he started to fidget, his tail fur puffing out.

Barkpelt nearly fell over at Leaf Eye's words . The River didn't exist ? Was that even possible ?
He stood up immediately , his paws prickling as he walked in place rapidly . " You - You've really seen that ? Do you think it's true ? "
He looked over his shoulder , disbelief and fascination in his eyes . How could that be possible ? But surely Leaf Eye wouldn't lie to him ? Granted he did say it was a vision , but something about the old tom cat felt familiar enough that he felt he had some inner knowing that couldn't possibly be false .
Though he didn't realize it at first , Barkpelt had started feeling out of breath . As he went to look back to Leaf Eye , he suddenly felt as though his world was spinning around him . A sudden look of fear filled his eyes , and he halted instantly , pressing his paws deep into the dirt to steady himself . Panic settled in - What was happening to him ? He felt like something was wrong and yet nothing bad was happening to him . He was here , with Leaf Eye , so ... why did he feel so unsafe ? It was as if a giant dark forest creature had leapt out before him and threatened to attack him . He felt like he was in danger .
As his vision faded in and out , he glanced up to the elder cat , but almost seemed to be looking just past him . Was ... Was there someone behind him ? Further away , maybe a few fox lengths ... ?
As he let his belly press against the ground , he finally caught his breath , his spotty vision returning to normal , along with his heart rate and breathing . It happened so fast and yet he felt as though it would never end , as if time had stretched so far , he could barely keep up with it . He wasn't sure what had just happened to him ; he wasn't even sure he could speak right away . This didn't seem like what he saw happen to Leaf Eye earlier , those seizures he spoke of ? Barkpelt didn't writhe around or lose control of his body like that ... No , this was strange , and foreign . He'd felt uneasy before , but not like this , and not out of nowhere for no reason .
Slowly , he glanced up , looking for whatever it was he thought he saw ... but the glowing - eyed cat had disappeared .
I could've sworn - ...

Sorry I haven't been here in a while. I had a lot of family issues come up. I think I had a rp with someone with Rainfoot, but I'm not sure. Whoever that was, sorry, but I'm breaking out of that. So, all of my 3 characters are now open.

Leaf Eye watched the tom curiously as he seemed to have some kind of panic attack, maybe something similar to what he himself experiences. He saw Barkpelt's eyes look around, he followed the young cats gaze. He saw nothing but could feel like something else was out there. Leaf Eye's tail flicked irritably and his ears flattened, he stood up and growled at the empty space. If something was there, he didn't want it around.
He waited for Barkpelt to feel better before properly speaking again, "I've seen pieces of the past, I wish I could show you or anyone else my visions." he mewed, his tone sounding a bit sad. Most cats never believed him, he was stuck with these visions unable to find anyone would could understand.

Barkpelt made it to his paws , and he looked to Leaf Eye , doing his best to keep his head clear . " I believe you , " He rested his tail on his new friend's shoulder , his head tilting with a slight smile , " I'd listen to whatever you had to tell me , if you could ... I wish I was able to see things like that ; know what really happened instead of whatever the leaders shoved down our throats . " He admitted , his ears wiggling .

"Hmm..." Leaf Eye thought for a moment, he shook his head and laughed. "Never mind my head was in the clouds" he purred in amusement, "The reason Rapid River didn't exist was because that pool the the waterfall empties into was once blocked by a dam, those things that beavers build tho there haven't been any beavers around here for a long time." Leaf Eye explained, he liked teaching young cats history, it was even better when he got to tell the truth to someone who finally believed him.

Barkpelt sat back down , his eyes widening a bit . " Beavers ? " He'd heard of them , maybe , but never had he actually seen one before . He was told they had large , sharp teeth and dangerous tails . They sounded frightening . " Wow , they can block off that much water ? That's incredible , " He looked over for a moment , lifting a paw , " I wonder what caused them to take it down ? "
He couldn't help but find his thoughts pulled back to his sister for a moment . Would she believe any of this ? Maybe he shouldn't share it ... His thoughts drifted for a moment - he didn't realize it until recently , but ... He noticed he felt a lot better out here than he ever did in camp . He was sure no one would have even noticed he was missing , which only stung him more . He wondered ... could he stay out here ? He didn't voice this thought , merely looking back to Leaf Eye curiously .

Leaf Eye sighed at Barkpelt's question, "I think that's a question that should be answered at another time," he tried to force a small smile, "Besides I've told you some much already." he purred. The long haired tom stood up, picking up the squirrel Barkpelt had caught for him. "Would you like to join me in my cave, or perhaps you should be getting back to your clanmates before they notice you've been gone for so long. I wouldn't want to get you in trouble." he muffled through the squirrel in his mouth.

Barkpelt chuckled , " That's true , I apologize , I hope I didn't come off as too nosy or rude , " He swished his tail nervously before standing as well . " I would love to come with you , but - I - I'd hate to impose , " He told Leaf Eye , but the look in his eyes told him all he needed to know ; they wouldn't even notice he was gone . His sister had always overshadowed him ; he never stood a chance .

"Not at all young one, I enjoy sharing what I know." Leaf Eye purred. He saw Barkpelt's sad expression and he frowned, "I see... Well then let's go. I'd certainly enjoy more of your company." He flashed a reassuring smile and started walking in the direction of the waterfall.

The young tom's eyes lit up again as he smiled , as if he was an apprentice seeing the world for the first time . He dipped his head and followed along eagerly , a bit more of a spring in his step than before . He padded alongside Leaf Eye , looking up to the sky every now and then to admire it . " Is the waterfall pretty at night ? You'd think it would be , with all the stars and the moon and such , " He smiled .

Leaf Eye nodded, "It is, plus the sound is nice to sleep to at night." he purred. He could already hear the roaring sound of rushing water up ahead, it gave him a sense of home and peace. "Sometimes that glowing stone in the cave makes it hard to sleep, but I usually just turn away from it when it's sleep time." He mewed, making a small laugh.
After a few moments the waterfall came into view, the steady flow of water falling into the pool below spraying cold mist into the air. Leaf Eye took a deep breath through his nose, "Ah, den sweet den." He smiled and went around the side of the water pool, behind the waterfall was a small entrance to a cave in the mountain. Leaf Eye poked his head inside and wiggled himself until he slipped into the dark cave.
