There's a story I've been putting together for a long time. The hardest part here is striking the right mix between "it's not absurdly dangerous for the main character to head off into the woods by themselves" and "okay but death is also a possibility." Anyway, the basic plot framework is that the main character goes off into the woods to rescue a snake (future friend) and winds up trying to deal with a werewolf crisis, solve problems they partially contributed to creating, and do something about that creepy bunny dragon they ticked off in the city. Here is the "greater evil" brother (cat goat) meeting one of the main character's friends (mouse monster). This was the first scene of the entire thing. Not in-story chronologically first, but the scene that the whole story grew around. Most of these words will be illegible, but that's okay. I don't need to share the whole scene. I just really wanted to share something, considering it's been years since this first came to be. I drew this a few months ago. Do you all know about my love of failed redemption arcs? That guy has spent his life being a terrible person. Partway through the story he goes off after his brother because he realizes he's done wrong. Unfortunately...instead of bettering himself, he demands an audience and shouts about how he's better now so everything can just go back to the way it was before except he's totally nice now guys you have to believe him because he said it. And then I put him through hell. Kind of. I'm really not that good at being mean.
