IntroductionAs you pad through the forest, you look up and can see that the yellow sun is sinking toward the horizon. It’ll be dark soon, you think to yourself. I’d better head back to my camp soon. You’re a rogue cat who’s experienced many hardships at the hands of other rogues and creatures, and you like to think of yourself as pretty independent and strong. You keep on, sure-pawed, toward the stream you came to yesterday. You tentatively place one paw in the stream, and realize the water only reaches halfway to your belly fur. Wanting to get it over with, you sprint across the stream and jump out on the other side.
As you shake the moisture off your dripping pelt, you catch the scent of another cat. Immediately your hackles rise, and you draw yourself up. Suddenly, two cats come bounding out of the shadows of the forest. A small black cat barrels into you, knocking you off your paws. But you’re quick, and you leap back up onto your four paws and hiss in warning. But the larger of the two strange cats pads forward and blocks the younger cat with his bushy tail. “Nightpaw,” he begins with a rumble, looking back at the young cat. “A warrior always questions a cat on his or her territory before attacking them.” Nightpaw nods reluctantly and glares at you. The large tabby tom returns his gaze to you; you’re still ready to fight if necessary. “What are you doing in EarthClan territory?” he asks calmly but with authority. You blink, puzzled. “EarthClan?” you mew. “I’m just exploring the forest. I live in a meadow back there.” You flick your ears in the direction of the meadow where you grew up. “We’ve scented you on our territory before,” the large cat accused. “You seem to have taken a liking to the forest.”
You narrow your eyes. “And what if I have?” you retort. The other cat’s whisker’s twitch and he lets out a long arrow of amusement. Your eyes widen; this reaction was unexpected.
“You have spirit, young one. Would you be willing to join EarthClan? If you say yes, I will take you back to my leader, Twilightstar.” He paused, drawing himself up to his full height. You crouch as you realize he is almost twice your size. “But if you say no, you must leave EarthClan territory, and never come back again. So what is your choice, young one?”

HistoryOnce, not long ago, a group of cats all lived together in this one spot where there was a large tree above a wide-mouthed cave. They lived in this cave for many moons, and things worked out well for them. Then, one day, four strange new cats came to the tree. Each of the four cats wanted to take their own group of cats to a new home, where they promised they would all thrive. All of the cave-dwelling cats agreed to choose their ways. Some went with Frosty, others with Shade, another group with Pebble, and the remaining cats with Cloud. One cat, who was one of the darkest and most dangerous cats, began to lead Shade’s group. He decided that since Shade helped his group find a great new home, he would name his clan ShadeClan, in honor of Shade and the clan's shady home and lifestyle. Frosty took her cats to the mountains, and they climbed the nearest mountain, where they made camp. Frosty decided to assume leadership of this group and make it his own clan. He named the clan after himself, as he thought he deserved this honor. Cloud took the cats to another territory, west of FrostyClan. One of the cats decided to name the new clan AirClan, since many of them were proficient at leaping into the air. The last group of cats followed Pebble. Pebble was a small cat, but with his silent authority he became their leader. Not many cats went with his group, but Pebble made them strong. He named the group of cats EarthClan, after their new woodland territory where he was born and raised as a loner. Each Clan promised to continue being friendly, so each clan could enjoy their homes in peace.
Not many moons later, some of the young warriors discovered that the four cats who separated them into clans were siblings and that they despised each other due to a feud that had sparked when they were very young cats. The four cats eventually turned the clans against each other, unable to forget their feud. Pebblestar and Frostystar joined forces to kill Shade and Cloudstar, then decided to finally make a truce. Peace had still not been reached, though, because soon Frostystar was ambushed and killed by a ShadeClan cat. Pebblestar was the only sibling left alive, and no one dared hurt him. However, he had to live with the fact that all of his siblings were dead, and this weakened his mind later in his life.
ShadeClan's leader began having dreams about a place with a pure black sky, where it was eternally night. He began going there every sunset, listening to the SpiritClan cats’ whispers. He started leading ShadeClan as the dark cats commanded him, and he grew darker and more corrupt. FrostyClan tried to intervene, reminding ShadeClan to be friendly cats with good values, but the clan was on a downward spiral toward evil. The other Clans allied in protest, but ShadeClan found a way to ward the attacks off. EarthClan tries to keep away from the squabbles between clans, but FrostyClan and AirClan are always battling each other or ShadeClan. It hasn't been very long since the clans were made; every clan is on their third leader, and they are all at their first life.
About the ClanEarthClan is the Clan of the creative and honorable. They often try to avoid petty arguments amongst the other three Clans: ShadeClan, FrostyClan, and AirClan. They’re great hunters who learn to climb trees, dig and use tunnels, and even catch fish in the shallow stream that runs near the edge of their territory. Because they live in tunnels, their night vision is exceptional, but there are a few holes and cracks in the earth that filter light into the camp. An ideal EarthClan warrior is creative, honorable, silently ambitious, caring, and proud. Loyalty is everything to the Clan, and disloyalty merits the worst punishments. All three leaders of the Clan—past and present—are known by even the youngest apprentice: Pebblestar, the wise, Streamstar, the fair, and presently Twilightstar, the noble. Battle is only used as a last resort in EarthClan, as its goal is to preserve the peace so that the Clan may continue its way of life.
Rules 1. Follow all forum rules. This is easy. Just follow the rules that you have to follow anyways. Why would you change your thoughts when you join this roleplay?
2. No Mary-Sues or Gary-Stus. Do not make your character the best. No -ests. Your character is not the 'fastest' or the 'strongest.' Unless you're saying "She's not the strongest, but she's agile." That's okay. I ask if you have 2 strengths, give your character 2 weaknesses. Just make sure your character's strengths and weaknesses are equal. Your cat cannot be very strong, very fast, an amazing hunter, everyone's their friend; just, no. Also, don't make your character the worst at everything, so they get lots of attention. I should stop, this is the next rule.
3. No ___. The reason I made this blank is because there's a bunch of stuff I am going to be saying here. Don't make yourself the center of attention. Next, no god-modding or anything like that. Your character cannot make a fox run in one hit, or kill a badger in one swipe. No mind-reading, either. People will post their character's thoughts, but you don't know they’re thinking that. Don't reply to their thoughts. No kit___ing. You will be ignored if you do anything like that. No powers, either. Unless we have discussed some sort of plot, your character has no powers, or anything super special. Don't control other characters. That's just... Unless you have permission and you are a high-rank alt (explained in activity) you may not roleplay another's characters. First word of the code Survive.
4. Activity. Try to post a minimum of three times a week, if you are not a high rank. High ranks, I suggest posting at least five days a week, if not more. Don't come on for an hour and then never come back. But posting a minimum of three times or six days of the week, I mean don't come on, say one thing, and leave. You have to do something useful, like have a conversation or something. After two weeks of inactivity, we will remove your character. Also, if you are going somewhere and you probably won't post for awhile, please say. We will mark your character as 'Away.' Also, in times like this, or if a high rank is needed badly but they are asleep or something, we will have alts. Make sure you have other characters, too, as you will not be using these unless it's an emergency.
5. Respect. Please do not create arguments outside of RP. Be respectful to everyone. No swearing, either. If you want to say something bad, at least say it in a cat swear (Fox-Heart etc). Don't take everything seriously. This is a fun environment and if something doesn't happen as you would like, it's just RP. The next two words are like a.
6. Characters. Two things fit under here. Keep your characters realistic. No star shaped patches on your back, or bright purple eyes. Make sure your character is like a real cat. Don't make it something that you would never see in the wild. The next thing is there is a max of five characters, but if you are a good rper, and you are active, we will allow as many as you want. People who join from the beginning and helped automatically get an unlimited amount.
7. Spamming. Do not spam anything. Do not repeat '__ come to __' over and over again. You may say it once or twice, but please do not ask over and over again, unless it is a different person or a new thing. 8. Role-Playing. No one-liners, unless it's the only thing you can do. Try to make your posts detailed, close to 4 sentences at the least. Don't make your posts so long that people get bored, though. No text-speak. Try to use proper grammar. No one can spell everything correctly, but try your best, and use correct capitalization and punctuation. The last word is tiger!
9. Last Thing! Look over every post before joining! We don't want someone to be confused. If you have any questions, ask! We want this to be a fun place and we don't want people to not join because they don't understand. People are here to help!
Traditions The Cave Face: Not far from the EarthClan camp, in the forest glade, there is a very tall cave that only goes a few fox-lengths into the rock. The back wall of the cave, called the Cave Face, is in the sun for the latter hours of the day. Inside the cave, the ground is a rusty-colored mud. When an EarthClan warrior performs spectacularly in battle, executes a tough mission, or makes a hard decision for the good of the Clan, a ceremony is held at the Cave Face. In the ceremony, watched by StarClan, the celebrated warrior puts one of his or her forepaws in the mud and presses it to the Cave Face, remembering that warrior forever in the Clan with their pawprint.
The Apprentice’s Sojourn: After passing the mentor’s final assessment, each EarthClan apprentice has to stay in the huge abandoned badger set far southwest of the camp, in the Pebble Hills, where Pebblestar and his siblings were born. The journey starts at sunset, and they have to live there for 4 sunrises, catching prey for themselves and defending themselves against possible badger, fox, adder, rogue cat, and (brown recluse) spider threats. Their mentor periodically comes to the Pebble Hills and watches the apprentice’s actions from afar, and if the mentor sees the apprentice in dire danger, he can help them. TerritoryEarthClan territory lies south of AirClan and west of ShadeClan. Its territory is mostly deciduous forest, with a stream running across its northern border. It begins at a small pool called the Still Waters and flows down the waterfall into the stream. Toward the west and the south—about a mile past the western and southern scent markers—are foothills called the Pebble Hills that raise into the mountains. There is a large glade in the EarthClan forest where the Cave Face is located, only half a mile northwest of the EarthClan camp. On the western and southern borders are the evergreens, which tower above the deciduous trees in most of EarthClan territory. In the middle of their territory is the Ancient Tree, which is five times the height and circumference of the trees around it.
Camp The EarthClan camp is far into their territory, in a hilly part of the forest where the trees are more spread out. It is well hidden by brambles, and in the clearing there are two entrances and exits into the EarthClan tunnels. These two wide tunnels snake around and join in the middle where there is huge open space where the actual camp is. The dens are sizable holes in the wall of the tunnel where the cats sleep on moss. The dens are evenly spaced around the space, except for the Pebble Hole, where the leader sleeps, and the Medicine Cat den, which are in the far right of the space. The other dens are in the far left of the space.

Leap-and-hold - Ideal for a small cat facing a larger opponent. Spring onto opponent's back and grip with unsheathed claws. Now you are beyond the range of the opponent's paws and in position to inflict severe body wounds. A group of apprentices can defeat a large and dangerous warrior in this way. Watch for the drop-and-roll counter move, and try to jump free before you get squashed. Partner Fighting - Warriors who have trained and fought together will often fall instinctively into a defensive position, each protecting each other's back while fending off an opponent on either side. Slashing, clawing, and leaping together, battle pairs can be a whirlwind of danger for attackers. Play Dead - Effective in a tight situation, such as when you are pinned. Stop struggling and go limp. When your opponent relaxes his/her grip, thinking you are defeated, push yourself up explosively. This will throw off an unwary opponent and put you in attacking position. Scruff Shake - Secure a strong teeth grip in the scruff of your opponents neck; then shake violently until he or she is too rattled to fight back. Most effective against rats, who are small enough to throw. A strong throw will stun or kill them. Tail Yank - Grab your opponent's tail and yank it with such force your opponent is thrown off balance. Teeth Grip - Target your opponent's extremities- the legs, tail, scruff or ears- and sink in your teeth and hold. This move is similar to the leap-and-hold except your claws remain free to fight. Upright Lock - Final, crushing move on already weakened opponent. Rear up on back legs and bring weight down on opponent. If opponent does the same, wrestle and flip him under you. This makes you vulnerable to the belly rake, so it takes great strength and speed. Half-Turn Belly Rake - Turn onto your side, slip under the opponent's belly, rake it with your claws, then swiftly turn back onto all fours out from under your opponent. Badger Defense - Leap over opponent, turn on your back legs and bite opponent's leg. Used only when fighting badgers. Duck and Twist - Simple defensive move. The cat ducks then twists around, rolling over onto his/her back, and then springs to their paws. Jump and pin - Complicated move. Leap backwards, and bounce off the wall. With precise accuracy, land on the cat.

Wait a minute I'm a kit from my page and I'm assuming that's what I will be if you have me join. Should I create a name? I've never done this before but I'm exited

Hello! I'm very interested in joining, and I would be very active! (Although I still have school.) Is med. cat reserved? Medicine Cat is open! Sometime today the joining page will be put up (it's a 4-clan RP), but I'll reserve your spot for Med Cat

I would love love love to join. Is deputy an option? Yes Deputy is an option, but it requires you to be pretty active (like 5 days a week). When the joining page comes out later today you can sign up there!

I can try my best to be active, but I can guarantee anything. So if I'm not doing well, I don't want to hold up anything so you just put me as a warrior if I fail to be very active

Ello. I'm the owner of the four RP things. We're still working on the other Clans, so the joining page might take awhile. We'll notify you when everything's open!

Okay so something you need to add to traditions since we planned this out before: Crystal Cave: Every time a kit reaches the age of six months, they go to the Crystal Cave to find out their path. They must travel this journey alone, or with littermates. Once they reach this cave, they must first not let the crystals reach into their souls. This is a death trap for most cats, as this is a large stone pillar with falling traps up to five hundred tail lengths. They must find the cave in the back, and take a small drink of the water. They will then dream and go to BrokenClan for the first time. When they wake up, there will be a small stone in between their paws. This will decide their path. There are multiple colors of stones you can get. The most common ones are dark gray and light gray. Dark Gray - Hunter: They hunt for the Clan. Some of them try and hunt a certain piece of prey, but they usually go for any prey they can get. Light Gray - Fighter: They fight for the Clan, although most cats end up fighting anyways. These are the cats that go with a Runner to patrol the borders. They also fight any other creatures; badgers, foxes, etc. Black - Protector: They protect the camp and they also go with Runners. These are pretty rare. They usually become the next deputy then leader. Silver - Leader: If you get this color, you are very special. It only happens when the leader is on their last life, or on the special day where three moons are showing. This means you will be the next leader of ShadeClan, and the leader will train you on everything a leader needs to know. Light Blue - Runner: These aren't too rare, but they aren't as common as hunters or fighters. They often send messages and are the fastest cats in the Clan, and they also learn how to fight like every other cat. They usually patrol the borders and run to find water in a drought. Lavender - Medicine Cat: These are incredibly rare, almost as rare as a leader stone. It only happens when there is an old medicine cat and the apprentice is a full medicine cat and is ready for an apprentice. You interact with BrokenClan as a medicine cat and heal the Clan. White - This usually means that you can do everything, but you aren't the best at them all. You're path is chosen by your leader. Clear - This is the worst stone, and probably the most rare. This means you must leave the Clan as you will be a problem and you will be no help to the Clan. It is said that one cat picked their own stone that they wanted out of the pool and traveled back with it. Let's just say... they ended up hollow. Literally. After a cat has finished their training, they will travel back to the Crystal Cave, and they must gather a crystal for themselves, after speaking with BrokenClan. They will learn their Spirit Animal. They must not tell a soul about this animal. After you learn your animal you will take your crystal back to your Clan, and it will change to a color of your liking. After this the medicine cat will change this crystal into a necklace and you shall carry this around forever, never can you take it off. Lastly, the medicine cat(s) will join with BrokenClan every quarter year when the two moons shine.

Maybe you should change the Apprentice thing, since it would be weird to have two assessments of the same danger. Like for ShadeClan that's reasonable but...

Is there any way I could get an EarthClan banner at the top? I think Kitty has one, maybe I can ask her
