Plummetsky gave a nod of understanding, moving to place the fresh bedding into the den, spreading it around with careful patience and a light hum.
Canyonpaw swallowed, giving a nod and closing his eyes. After a moment, he finally made a choice, choosing the far left tunnel, as the destination was more leftwards.
Lichentail looked up anxiously at Mooncliff, still rather nervous around her clanmates. Her kits played together at her paws, and she flicked her eyes from them to the deputy.

Owlpaw nodded, crouching. "Yea." She said excited.
Silvermask continue to run. "I'm trying not to break my neck!"

"Alright. Come on then." Soaringstar invited, crouching in a mock stance of a lumbering badger, wanting to see how far Owlpaw could progress in today's training.

Stormfall moved up besides Silvermask and grinned slightly, nearly stumbling. The tom recovered smoothly and turned towards the she-cat. "Is that you saying that we need to slow down?" he called out to her, a little breathless from the run.

Hookjaw went back to his dozing.
"Good evening, Lichentail, how are you and the kits?" Mooncliff placed down the bedding in front of the queen.

"Of course not." Silvermask panted out. She was getting tired but didn't want to loose.
Owlpaw lept forward to try and land on her mentors back.

Lichentail swallowed, replying quickly and carefully. "They're doing well. Fennelkit's started outrunning her brother."
Soaringstar waited until Owlpaw was on his back, before he instructed. "Put all your strength into your legs, and burst off with a deep leap on my back."

Mooncliff smiled. "Its good hear that your kits are getting stronger." He nudged the bedding he collected toward her. "I thought you and the kits could use more bedding. The mountains are getting colder with each passing day."

Lichentail seemed to relax slightly at the offering, pulling the material closer and nodding. "Thank you, Mooncliff..."
"Look Fennelkit! The deputy's visiting us!" Rumblekit bragged, rushing over to the older tom, gushing up at him.

Mooncliff smiled down at the kits. "You let me know if you need anything else Lichentail. We want you to feel comfortable here."

"Thank you, Mooncliff...I know I may not seem like it, but I truly am grateful for what you all have done...though my pride eats at me to admit it. If you have leftover furs or feathers, it makes Fennelkit sleep easier."
"Soft ones." Fennelkit demanded bravely, chin up at the deputy, already quite a brave cat.

Mooncliff nodded to Lichenfur, though his whiskers twitched in amusement at Fennelkit's demand. "I actually just caught a large bird with lots of feathers. I'll be sure to have it plucked for you." He looked at Fennelkit. "And the feathers are quite soft."

Fennelkit seemed to lighten up quickly, nodding her approval as she began climbing on her mother's side. "Good! I don't wanna get poked by rocks."
Rumblekit gave a bounce. "Mooncliff, Mooncliff! Tell me how you caught the big bird!"

The deputy flicked his ear at the kit's request. "Oh, um, well, I climbed a rock pile near it and pounced on it from above."

"Woah!" Rumblekit crouched low and gave a big leap and a growl. "When I'm an apprentice, I'll do that too!"
Lichentail seemed to grow far more comfortable when her kits were happy, and she praised. "Yes you will, little catcher. You two will be the bravest cats in the clan."

Mooncliff smiled lightly. "Of course, little kit. I wouldn't be surprised if you made all birds weary of coming to this territory."

Hey guys)
Shadowpaw and Sunpaw were talking to each other. Sunpaw had brought a bird over to share with his sister.
Blackdusk was grooming her pelt.

Canyonpaw swallowed, giving a nod and closing his eyes. After a moment, he finally made a choice, choosing the far left tunnel, as the destination was more leftwards. Batecho nodded to herself, Canyonpaw had made the right choice.

Rumblepaw gave a proud look, happy to be praised by the deputy. He crooned. "Well I hope when I'm a warrior, I'll be deputy like you."
Canyonpaw felt far more confident as he began trekking down farmiliar caves again.

Mooncliff twitched his whiskers in amusement once again. "Only time will tell, little kit."
Batecho followed silently behind him. However, she suddenly paused, an idea trekking into her mind. With a soft snicker to herself, she slowly and silently back up to not drawn Canyonpaw's attention. Then, she turned around and disappeared into the deep caves.

Rumblekit gave a giggle, his paws reaching playfully for the fronds of bracken around the nest. Fennelkit moved to bounce on her brother.
Canyonpaw continued onwards, finding comfort in the tunnels...that was, until the footsteps behind him were gone. Eyes wide, he moved his head around and called with concern. "Batecho? Are you trying to mess with me?" He demanded.

No reply came from the darkness.

Lichentail gave a thankful nod to the deputy, letting her kits give cries of good-bye after his leave. The queen settled back into her nest, gazing at the cavern walls.
Canyonpaw felt his ears pin back at the lack of response, and his hair bristled with both anger and weariness. This wasn't funny. "Well, if you want to be a bat-brain, then I guess I'll just keep going!" He shouted, stomping forwards, though his paws ached with a desire to go looking for his mentor.

Mooncliff took his leave, glancing around in wondering where his sister was.
Batecho's scent lingered in the air

Canyonpaw stopped suddenly, giving an angry scowl and whipping around to trail after his mentor's scent. He didn't like this. Must have been another training act. While he wanted to admire her intelligence, all he could feel was bitter annoyance. That she was making him run around and fret like this.
He stormed after her scent, giving a deep huff.

Batecho was cleaning her paws in a cave lit by dim moonlight. It was cavern deep in the mountain and had a single trickling spring at it end. She and her brother had found it when they were younger.

It took a while to finally find the strong scent, and once Canyonpaw finally tracked his mentor, he skidded to a halt and glared deeply, calling in the dark. "That's not funny!" He hissed.

"You're right." Batecho put her paw down and looked at her apprentice when he came in. "Losing a clanmate in the caves isn't amusing at all, but you did the right thing and came looking for me. Well done, Canyonpaw."
