❀ ﹣ ʀᴏsᴇᴄʟᴀɴ ﹣ ❀ [ ᴄʟᴀɴ ᴏғ ғʟᴏᴡᴇʀs ][ ᴄʟᴀɪᴍ﹣ᴀ﹣ᴄᴀᴛ ʀᴘ ] ᴏᴘᴇɴ﹗

As any good medicine cat would do, Lavenderpetal was currently checking on her supply of herbs. She was finding herself low on a few herbs and remedies, especially cobweb. With the recent surplus of kits it seemed as if every time she turned around a kit had scratched themselves and ended up bleeding. Just the day before a kit had come to her after tearing a claw out. "It'll grow back by the time you're an apprentice. Now, calm down and let me fix this." The medicine cat had said, speaking to the kit in a warm, yet firm, tone of voice. Despite what some might think of her, Lavenderpetal worked well with kits. They were squirmy and they complained a lot, but she enjoyed their liveliness.  They were, overall, fun to work with. They somehow always managed to put a smile on the pretty molly's face.

Deciding to put cobweb on her list of what to gather, Lavenderpool went to check the rest of her stores. Every other herb seemed to be in supply, but as her copper eyes scanned the den, she noticed something. She spotted a stray stinging nettle leaf near where she kept her store of lavender. The molly paused, copper eyes narrowing. Almost as if she had imagined it the faintest trace of decay wafted through the air, immediately followed by the scent of a dying foxglove. Brindlestar.

Lavenderpetal had been seeing the former leader of RoseClan for quite some time. Truth be told, she had first met the faded tortoiseshell molly during her apprenticeship, a few moons after she had discovered the first feelings of butterflies that Nettlestep, Nettlepaw then, had given her. 'He can be all yours, Lavenderpaw. He's destined for greatness, but a leader cannot lead without his queen.' Those were the first words Brindlestar had ever spoken to the medicine cat. At first Lavenderpetal had been scared of the scarred molly, but over time as her feelings for Nettlestep grew stronger and stronger, Lavenderpetal became closer to the tortoiseshell all the while distancing herself from StarClan as a whole. Now every time she spoke with her ancestors she was greeted by a cat drenched in the light of decaying dark green and stuck prowling in the mossy-treed swamp that was the Dark Forest.

Brindlestar had made Lavenderpetal stronger. The medicine cat had learned so many things she would have never learned before, like how to properly administer a poisonous herb within a piece of prey or poultice without a cat knowing among many other new techniques. And upon learning such methods, she knew exactly how to use them - take down her mother, the dear leader Lilacstar, and in turn make her dearly beloved Nettlestep the leader. He deserved it, after all. Even Brindlestar had said it, he was destined for greatness. And he was destined to become leader with a queen at his side.

The soft-furred molly pulled her eyes away from the nettle. Mind set on one thing now, Lavenderpetal slipped out of her den and into the heart of camp, copper eyes searching for the one cat she felt the happiest with - dear Nettlestep.
