While reading Broken Pride, I've seen a few similarities between the book and The Lion King.
1. Main protagonist's father gets murdered. (Gallant is killed by Titan, while Mufasa is killed by Scar).
2. The main protagonist (a lion) is adopted by a different animal species. Fearless gets adopted by a baboon troop, and Simba is adopted by Timon (a meerkat) and Pumbaa (a warthog).
...well, that's all I can see for the moment. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I don't think we should compare the two until later on in the series. Doesn't seem fair to do that. Survivors gets this a lot with Warriors too.

I don't think we should compare the two until later on in the series. Doesn't seem fair to do that. Survivors gets this a lot with Warriors too. Just because it's being compared to the Lion King doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Wild is just pointing out some of its similarities. |

Well, it's about a lion cub trying to avenge the death of his father and goes to live with other animals.
So, yeah, I know what you mean - though we should let the books develop a bit more first. Wait till at least book 3 or something.

I think Fearless is similar to Simba in a lot of ways (mainly for getting revenge on his father's murder), but that's about it.
Sky reminds me of Tantor from Tarzan, though

And Lion King was based off hamlet, which was based off an old norse epic so what do we even know anymore. |
