Does anyone, per chance, remember a cringey fic on the old forums, called Immortal Demon, that got a lot of attention for its storyline and characters?
By someone called iluvanimals456?
Well, that was me, and I'm here with a remastered version!
This one shouldn't be quite so fast-moving, so the story should be easier to follow. Plus, my writing won't be so cringey. Ready for the ride? Well, let's go!
Characters:
Hawkfeather- brown tabby tom with green eyes. He has white paws and muzzle.
Midpaw- black she-cat with one white forepaw, a white flash on her chest and blue eyes.
Starfire- yellow tabby tom with amber eyes.
Rattatusk- huge black and red scaled snake.
Thunder- silver tabby she-cat with bright blue eyes.
The Protector- a mysterious black tom with yellow eyes. Synopsis: Hawkfeather is your typical Clan warrior, aside from a few things, including the fact that a strange cat continuously appears in his dreams. He has an apprentice, is well-respected and lives a normal life... until his father, Seedstar, falls gravely ill and tells him something that will change his life forever....
Introduction:
I never knew I was “special”. I never knew I had all the time in the world. I never knew her days were numbered. I never knew how hard life would be, being this way. I never knew it would be the worst thing that happened to me.
And it’s all because of something that happened before I was born.

Prologue Starfire
“You promised me, Starfire,” came the hissing voice, warning and threat in his tone.
“I promised you nothing,” I returned with a smile. “I simply implied you would get what you wanted.”
“Why, you-”
“Is there a problem, Rattatusk?” A russet-furred she-cat had entered the clearing, her cold amber eyes narrowed.
“None at all.” The large black and red snake ducked his head to stare at the ground, glanced up, then turned to slither away.
“Thanks, Mapledawn,” I meowed, somewhat shakily.
“You’d better be,” snorted Mapledawn. “He could’ve bitten you, and then our plans would have been… delayed.”
“Are you suggesting I could be replaced?” I placed forward a paw, claws extended. The she-cat noticed her error.
“Of course not, love,” she purred. “I only meant that it would be immensely difficult to carry out the plan without you. Impossible, even.”
“Hmmm.” I looked away from her, eyes narrowed at the path Rattatusk had cleared when he had exited. “We still need him.”
“I know. But don’t worry; we’ll have his help when it counts.” I turned back in time to spot her malicious smile.
“Got some bargaining chips, huh?” She opened her mouth to answer and I cut her off. “No, don’t tell me. Let this be your thing. I’ll handle the troops.” I whisked away, padding down a narrow path between the trees. I glanced up; once again, my view of the sky and stars was blocked by the leaves of the trees. Nothing new.
“Ah, he’s back. How did it go?”
“Rattatusk was pleased.” I said sarcastically, giving a strained smile to the brown tabby in front of me. “But the plan is already in motion. There is no need to stress.”
“Good, father.” The tom paused for a moment. “And the kit?”
“All prepared,” I answered. “I sent Dragon down there tonight.”
“I don’t like how much trust you have in that rogue,” he muttered, but didn’t challenge me further.
“I’m sure the kit will do great,” put in a gray she-cat.
“Exactly. Browntail, have as much faith in me as Grayswoop.”
“I have faith in you, and the plan. As long as Dragon doesn’t screw it up.”
“Well, why don’t you ask him,” I meowed. “He’s back.”
Chapter One Hawkfeather “Hawkpaw! Stonepaw! Firepaw! Hawkpaw! Stonepaw! Firepaw!”
I sat proud beside my siblings, chest puffed out, head held high. The gathered cats disbanded and we all stood up, ready to begin our training. Our parents padded over.
“I’m so proud of you!” Snowfox proclaimed loudly, licking each of us on the head in turn.
“Mo-other,” groaned Stonepaw. “I’m not a kit!”
I turned to my father, Seedstar, anxious for his reaction. He simply turned his head away from all of us. I forced down the disappointment. This was nothing new. My mentor, Riverfoot, padded over.
“Ready to train, kiddo?” she asked fondly. I nodded. We padded from the camp with Stonepaw and Firepaw, along with their mentors, Monsterclaw and Windpelt. We padded along swiftly and then something leapt at me, claws digging into my pelt, rolling me over and over…
“Hawkfeather! Hawkfeather!”
“Midpaw? Ugh. What time is it?”
“Redfur told me to wake you. We’re on the dawn patrol!” My excited apprentice jumped around the warrior’s den, nearly landing on Stonefur’s tail.
“I can’t believe I overslept!” I exclaimed, flicking my tail as I leapt to my paws.
“Still the lazy cat you were as an apprentice, I see?” Redfur’s amused purr met my ears.
“What would you know?” I spluttered, indignant.
“Riverfoot is my sister,” Redfur pointed out.
“Oh, right.”
“Can you two stop talking? I want to go already!” Midpaw practically landed on my head as she flopped around in excitement. I laughed at her kit-like behaviour.
“Alright,” I meowed, following the kit out of the den. Redfur came out a moment later, followed by Firewing and a grumbling Stonefur.
“Remind me to never wake him up early again,” Redfur meowed, amused.
“Consider it done,” I replied with a purr. “Come on, Midpaw. We’re ready now.”
“Most of us, anyway,” Stonefur grumbled.
“Oh, shut up,” I purred in amusement. “We’re leaving.”
“Wait! Hawkfeather!” Silverclaw raced over to me. “Seedstar’s asking for you.”
I gaped. “Is he…”
Silverclaw nodded. “Wishcloud tried her best. All we can do is grant his wishes now.”
“You’ll have to go on without me,” I meowed to Redfur, who dipped his head in acknowledgement. Then I turned back to Silverclaw. “Show me to him!”
