Shira was as sharp-eyed as any Luxray in Sinnoh - perhaps moreso, with his extensive training. His eyes were a dim glow in the cave as he watched the walls for threats, his legs tucked underneath his body and his tail swaying back and forth. If he was paying any attention to the other two Pokemon with him, he didn't show it - no concern for one of the wilder Pokemon who laid next to his trainer, little concern for the Arcanine, who picked up some of the sticks from time to time to make sure the sure stayed lit.
"There's a person coming," he mused softly, moments before someone called out. Shira stood up and arched his back in a stretch before he moved to rest closer to his trainer, pressing his body against the man's leg. Next to him, Codi shifted in her sleep and opened one eye, watching the cave entrance warily.
She did not like humans.
Jasper exhaled slowly and pinched the bridge of his nose, thought about his days in other regions. It wasn't really a common thing - to have other trainers just waltz in. Even if the stranger had asked beforehand, it was a little unnerving to have someone in his space. Then again, he'd never been a hugely social person; it had amused the Elites to an extent, had amused them when he'd backed away from group hugs after defeating a powerful trainer, had amused them when he'd needed time alone after too many trainers. It was just one of those things. He was just classed as weird, and it was moved on.
Codi, however, was more notable in her discomfort. Whereas her trainer was used to hiding it and thus there was no trace of discomfort on his face, she stood up and the fur along her back rose, her lips curled in a snarl as she slunk away from her trainer and instead to a darker corner of the cave, not willing to give up freedom from the Pokeball, and not willing to go outside in the rain. She bristled and made sure to keep her distance, no longer relaxed but instead tense and watching the new human with hostility. On the other hand, Soren stayed near the fire but watched the newcomers cautiously, ready to fight if he needed to.
It was such a different atmosphere to how his old Pokemon had been - even the wild ones had been...less hostile, more used to humans. Soren and Codi were often tense, and had only just started to relax around him; but seeing them now, tense as if they were preparing for a battle, it made him...sad.
"It's not my shelter to force you out of," Jasper said, his voice soft. He wouldn't feel comfortable reading Codi's stories to her with people around - so he supposed she'd have to find a way to sleep on her own, though that was unfair. She could never get to sleep without the stories. Maybe he'd wait until the strangers were gone or asleep or something before he heard to her.
"You can relax," Shira whispered to both Soren and Codi, using the native Pokemon language to communicate - it soothed to two more than they would ever admit. "He won't let them hurt you, I promise you that."
The duo of anxious Pokemon flicked their gazes to each-other and then to Shira, and, eventually, both moved so that they were further away from the strangers and closer to their trainer - Soren rested his muzzle on the sleeping bag, Codi resumed her position back by Jasper's side, and Shira settled down once again, glad that he'd manged to be a peacekeeper.
Soren stiffened at the mention of the Lush Jungle trial, and against his better judgement, Jasper gently pressed a hand to the beast of a Pokemon. This didn't help at first - but after a few moments, the Arcanine reluctantly relaxed into his touch, accepting the gentle support offered by his trainer. All of them had this problem; only Shira could accept the support and reassurances from his trainer, while the others...they were Alolan, they didn't understand. It was a sad thing to see.
"Today," he flicked his gaze down to check on his Pokemon. Soren's lip curled a little, as if the very thought of the Lurantis made him angry. Maybe it was better that Cecilia had died, but...no. He couldn't think like that. She'd been young and nervous and hadn't wanted to fight, but he'd sacrificed her anyway and that? That was on him. He didn't know why his Pokemon weren't angrier at him, didn't understand why they didn't blame him more. Instead, Soren had been confused - amazed - that he'd been saved. It hurt his heart to think that Alolans didn't care as much as the rest of the world. Death wasn't a natural part of battle. What happened in the wild happened, but in League tournaments it was illegal to kill Pokemon on purpose - and yet, here, he'd had to adapt to the kill-or-be-killed style of battle. It wasn't good. "What about you?"
Next to him, Shira moved to rest his chin on Jasper's leg, and in return, he scratched the golden-furred Luxray. He doted on Shira, really. He was glad of the Pokemon's undying loyalty and loved the support he got. Even when things were tough and he felt like he was losing sight of his original goal, Shira managed to be there as a rock, managed to stand firm through even the toughest of situations and knew how to deal with most things, it seemed. He was glad of it, and Jasper wondered if he could ever express his gratitude. He doubted it. The most he could do at this point, he realised, was ensure that he made the right calls.
Cecilia had been an unfortunate, but necessary, death. He understood that, but didn't like it.

Florence, as lazy as he might seem, was pretty observant. One had to be to draw out stories from unsuspecting travelers at their inn, after all, and it had become more vital once he was out in the wilderness alone with Daphne and his other Pokemon to protect him. One never knew when a wild one would come and attack in the night. Stories were always told about the trainers who never kept a lookout, kept their Pokemon in their capsules and were wounded or killed by the older wilds lurking in the shadows.
Even if one doubted it, after the first mistake doing that in Alola you got real careful real quick.
He raised an eyebrow slightly as the Lycanroc backed away. Aggressive ones were never good in social situations with other trainers, he knew, but why didn't the other trainer just send her back to the Pokeball? Less fuss, less annoyance, and everything worked smoothly afterwards. It wasn't his issue, though, so he just shrugged and made himself comfortable.
"Inside, Camelia," he called out just loud enough to carry, snorting when the Vaporeon let out a stream of whines. The Pokemon started to complain as she walked back towards him, quieting ever so slightly when he gave a little smile at her. She wasn't aggressive but a bit too disobedient- respect was building, though, and that was what mattered. The Vaporeon knew that he could understand when she was whining and grumbling and that made all of the difference in making sure that your Pokemon knew that you could tell when they were planning something.
It was easy to tune out the complaints as Camelia curled up in his lap and to listen to what the Luxray had to say, ears straining to hear what was being spoken. He didn't look over at them, though- no reason to make them skittish if the other trainer didn't want to send them back into their Pokeballs.
Daphne, right by him, leveled her gaze at the other Pokemon in the room. "Compared to our team before the volcano trial, the Pokemon we have right now with the exception of our Talonflame don't look for fights," she said quietly, just loud enough to carry. There was no reason for the other trainer to listen in- it didn't look like he could understand, though, since there was no flicker of knowledge in his eyes when the Luxray spoke to their companions. Her focus turned to the Luxray solely soon after, a dip of her head in another greeting. He was the clear leader, at least out of the three Pokemon currently out.
Her message given, she focused back on the current small talk between Florence and the stranger. She would go keep watch soon, once her coat was dry even if she didn't know the strangers sitting right there. If they were aggressive and attacked Florence, then she could quickly strike back. It was safer this way.
"Earlier today," he laughed, ruffling his hair and letting some water get out of it. His clothes, thankfully, were already drying off a bit with the help of the fire- with Daphne shifting behind him, the Mudsdale seemed to be enjoying the heat of the fire as well, since her coat was damp as well. "You must have been battling the Totem Pokemon while I was exploring! Lush Jungle's better than the volcano, thankfully. Less heat."
He leaned forwards a bit and let Daphne rise and settle down at the opening of the cave once her coat had dried off somewhat. She was a brilliant lookout- her eyes and sense of smell together could detect everything close by. He could relax more now.
"So, what's your name?" As he unpacked to get a sleeping bag and a few other things out, he glanced over a few times at the trainer on the other side of the cave. "I'm Florence, and my partner- the Mudsdale- is Daphne."
"I'm Camelia!"
"I was about to get to you," Florence sighed, patting the Water type on the head lightly. Too enthusiastic, too chatty. At least she was tiring after sitting out in the rain for a few moments, which was a plus. It seemed that she got tired after soaking up the rain, like she was comfortable enough to doze for weeks. "This is Camelia. Ignore her if she starts trying to question you or any of your Pokemon, or tell me and she can go back in her Pokeball." That was said pointedly to the Vaporeon below- she gave a roll of her eyes but dutifully relaxed and gazed longingly out at the rain some more. "How was the Lurantis? It wasn't too bad for me, but I've heard some trainers that have had some Pokemon faint while facing the Totem Pokemon there."

muk was the worst boss in the entire game and that's counting entei. entei was fine, it had notable patterns after a few attempts. muk just decided to change its tactics once i got used to it. smh.
aha, it's fine ^^ i'll reply shortly.
what are your thoughts on the eng version of the story trailer for usum? it looks pretty cool but also i have zero idea what's going on, seems like it's gonna be a complex & possibly dark story !! which is kind of interesting

hmm, probably pmd, ngl. ranger's close behind, though.

nice
i was hopeful for the first bit and slowly got more and more disappointed afterwards the first sign of trouble was no personality test
where is my cat....i want to cuddle with her....

Post by Deleted on Oct 18, 2017 22:02:44 GMT -5
aha, i mean i dont think a personality test is what makes a good pmd game (spmd does an amazing job and the test is optional; if you dont like your pokemon, you can jsut choose another) but infinity is just bad for a load of reasons. the story is bad, and from what i hear, the final boss is even worse.
ahah.
i might not have muse for this roleplay anymore. ive been trying to respond but it isnt working out at all.

just a joke and i mean its not what makes it good but. repeatedly seeing it has made me fond of it still wish they had kept the 2d style, though. 3d figures sorta made it all bland the final boss was like??? the dark empty plain of existence or something?? super lame. give me back primal dialga and rayquaza and all of that
she be here
dw~ i tend to lose muse p quickly on lots of stuff too would you still be willing to chat? o; if any good rp ideas ever surface and youd like to rp again thats chill but if not, i'm cool with that too ^^

Post by Deleted on Oct 18, 2017 22:22:25 GMT -5
spmd works super well with the 3d style, it's a really refreshing change, ngl. i like the changes theyve made, and i like that theyre trying to keep up with more trends. i'm excited to see how later pokemon games are gonna look; seeing how it's changed from r/b/g/y -> sunmo era is super amazing.
she is gr8
ye, i'd be willing to chat and see if any other rp ideas surface ^^ i didn't expect to lose muse quickly - but tbf, it's rare that i keep muse for pokemon so aha, it's my bad. usually i keep muse strong for the crime genre, but that's about it at the moment.
