Nighttuft sat outside of camp, his tail twitching back and forth impatiently. His brother had been gone much longer than he had said he would be, which worried Nighttuft. The clan had been on edge lately since they had smelled a group of rouges on the border. "Raventail!" he called, getting more worried by the minute.
Frostpaw sat in the training hollow silently, grooming her chest. She looked up when a gust of wind blew and purred when she saw a clutter of leaves tumbling around her. She locked her eyes on one in particular and bunched her muscles before leaping into the air and snagging it with a claw before returning to the ground.

Maplepaw trotted alongside Pinepaw and their mentors, Cedarspring and Foxprint. Her bright russet pelt was marked with small black blotches and white socks. Her light amber eyes took in the forest as they headed toward the training hollow. "Race you there, Maplepaw!" Her brother exclaimed, dashing off. "Hey! You got a head start!" She mewed in protest as she sprinted after him. She had longer legs than the dark brown tom. They had similar light amber eyes and his paws were white. She overtook him easily and skidded to a halt in the training hollow, stirring up a small pile of fallen leaves. Pinepaw came in not long after, panting. "I always was the faster sibling." She boasted, puffing out her chestfur. "Well, I'm the better fighter!" Pinepaw protested, leaping at her and the two bowled over, breaking apart a rabbit's length from Frostpaw. When Maplepaw saw the she-cat she let out a happy purr and mewed, "Hello, Frostpaw!" happily in greeting. The fawn colored tabby Manx and the scarlet she-cat padded into the clearing. "I hope you didn't loose all your energy. We're doing combat training." Cedarspring mewed in amusement. "Oh, hello Frostpaw. Where's your mentor?" Foxprint asked curiously, her leaf-green eyes scanning the area for the apprentice's mentor, worry clear in the she-cat's eyes. There were rogues about, it was dangerous for the apprentice to be wandering around alone. -- Silverstreak padded toward camp and noticed Nighttuff pacing in front of camp. The silver tom made his way over. "Is Raventail back yet? I wanted to ask him if he was saw any rogues." He greeted. By the look of the tom, he could already tell that Raventail hadn't returned. "Maybe we should send out a search party?" He wondered outloud. Better safe than sorry.

Frostpaw jumped when Maplepaw and Pinepaw came running into the clearing before laughing. "Hi," she said before Cedarspring and Foxprint followed behind them. "Hi, Cedarspring, Foxprint," she continued, dipping her head respectfully. "I came a little early," she said bashfully, "He should be here any minute, I think."
Nighttuft looked at Silverstreak and nodded. "He said he just wanted to go hunting by himself, so I didn't think anything of it. But he's been gone far too long," he said and looked back to the forest. "I shouldn't have let him leave alone."

Silverstreak frowned at this. "Let's tell somecat we're going to look for him. It would be bad if we up and disappeared without telling anycat." The silver tom suggested. -- "Alright, well, you can join our training session until your mentor returns." Foxprint sighed. Maplepaw squealed in excitement, Frostpaw was joining their combat training! - (Sorry it's so short, I have a test in history right now. Will be back after)

(No it's fine, I understand lol)
Nighttuft nodded again, his tail twitching back and forth. "Thank you, Silverstreak," He said gratefully. I only hope I didn't wait to long to do anything, he thought before entering camp again and looking for one of their clanmates to tell where they were going. He saw Lightwing outside the warriors den and padded over to her. "Silverstreak and I are going to check the borders, Raventail hasn't come back to camp yet."
"I'll let Leafstar know," Lightwing said, looking back and forth between Silverstreak and Nightfuft. "You two be careful out there."
Frostpaw purred loudly, kneading her paws. Raventail was more of a one-on-one type mentor, so she hadn't gotten to train with her denmates very often at all.

Silverstreak followed Nighttuff over to Lightwing. "Thanks Lightwing, we'll be careful." He reassured the she-cat. He then nodded in goodbye and lead the way to leave camp. "We'll start on the west border and work our way east." He decided. They needed a general direction or they'd end up going in circles worrying about Raventail. -- Maplepaw and Pinepaw moved to the edge of the Training hollow and sat down. The she-cat gestured for Frostpaw to come and sit with them and her tail swished happily at the thought of training with Frostpaw. "Strength isn't everything when it comes to fighting. You need a clear mind and quick reflexes." Cedarspring began. "The adrenaline that kicks in when you start a fight will give you the clarity you need as long as you don't let your fear overshadow it. Cedarspring and I will demonstrate this through a mock battle." Foxprint put in. This was how their mentors always started. They would start with a mini lecture and the combat training would build on it. She watched intently as Cedarspring, who was older and larger than Foxprint, lunged for the younger warrior. Foxprint instantly fell to the ground, rolled to the side and, as Cedarspring landed, puffed out her fur to make her look larger. She let her fur rest before the two warriors looked back at the three apprentices. "When a cat see's there opponent is smaller than them, they'll try to use their size and weight to pin the other cat down." Cedarspring began to explain. "I did an easy dodging maneuver. I pressed my body against the ground and rolled out of reach. My small body allowed me to do so." Foxprint added. Cedarspring nodded in agreement, "And when she sprang up, puffing out her fur will throw the opposing cat off because they suddenly look larger than they had before." Foxprint nodded before meowing, "Frostpaw, would you like to practice with Maplepaw and Pinepaw can watch your mock battle?" She questioned.

"That would probably be the best thing to do," Nighttuft agreed, following Silverstreak. As soon as they got out of camp he was scenting the air, hoping that Raventail had just lost track of time. His brother had a bad habit of getting caught up in whatever it was he happened to be doing. It had certainly gotten him in trouble a lot when they were apprentices.
Frostpaw watched silently, making sure she caught everything they said and did. She was a much more talented hunter than fighter, but she had been trying to work on her battle moves so she would be a more valuable warrior when her time came. She nodded eagerly, standing up quickly. "Please!" she said before looking at Pinepaw. "Unless you'd like to go first?" she continued, "You and Maplepaw were supposed to be training, after all."

Pinepaw shook his head, looking back at Frostpaw. "I can beat Maplepaw any time i want. You go ahead and battle her. She could use the extra training." Although he was boasting, his mew carried a more teasing tone aimed at Maplepaw rather than anything condescending. Maplepaw huffed and got to her paws. "Don't pay attention to him, Frostpaw. Let's have our mock battle." She mewed, her tone going from annoyed to excited. She passed into the base of the training hollow and waited for Frostpaw. -- Silverstreak made sure to keep his eyes, ears and nose alert; scenting the air as they continued. He hoped it was just a simple mishap on Raventail's part; he would hate if anything bad were to happen to the tom.
