❝...Oh?❞ ━ I'd take care to watch your step, if I were you.
KoaClan is a group of feral cats who have resided on this island for...longer than anyone recalls, really. Why they are content to stay here would be a mystery to any outsider - the nature of the land itself is savage, often claiming lives far before their time. Cats with a stronger sense of self-preservation might have left long ago. But KoaClan is stubborn, and this has been their home for generations; leaving now would be blasphemy. In any case, it's not as if they have much where else to go, given their unfortunate stranding in the middle of the ocean. " This island...has never been kind, that much is true. Though, it is the only home I have ever known, so I suppose I can't say I find it horrifying - a cat can hardly despise a life to which they know no alternative.

Respect all other members and keep inappropriate topics outside of this thread. If you or another member begin to argue, you should either drop the discussion or take yourselves elsewhere; this should be a peaceful and safe environment for all members. .:Godmoding, Spotlighting, Etc. I’m assuming you all know this very well, but as a reminder, let’s try and keep Mary Sues away from this thread. Members will be expected to create realistic characters, ones with wholesome personalities and realistic appearances. Nothing is perfect, and your character should not be the exception. As for godmoding, spotlighting and all that, just do your best to keep it out of this thread all right? Never control other people's characters without their permission and don't try to make the role-play all about your own; it's as simple as that. .:Advanced & Literate By forum standards, this is an semi-advanced role-play, meaning that if you're planning on joining this thread, you should take a look at your writing first. Here, there will be a minimum of 100 words per rp post, which is about four lines. Members should possess decent grammar, otherwise known as the ability to make your words understandable, and be able to provide quality content. Of course, no one will be expecting you to be a literary genius in your posts, but I hope that you will put forth some effort into meeting these requirements. If you don't think you’d enjoy or be able to meet these standards, you might want to reconsider joining this clan - you can always come back at a later date! .:Activity It's a pretty basic rule to follow, and yet it's a leading cause for the death of a role-play. Shall a situation come up and render you unable to come onto the forums, alerting me or another moderator will earn you a leave of absence. However, know that I will not hesitate to delete those who never come on. I will expect members to appear at this thread and role-play at least three times a week; that's a reasonable number, yes? Shall you break this rule once, you will be given a warning. Break it twice, and you shall be deleted. All members will be given one chance to rejoin after being erased. .:Follow the Forum Rules Obey all of the rules set down by the moderators. sciamachy (n.) a battle against imaginary enemies; fighting your shadow
❝ It is an inevitable fate for history to repeat itself. It is, in a sense, a law of the universe. This law is much more so in the mountains.
In a land where every cry echoes through every crevice in the sierra, it is truly a testament to our ignorance, or perhaps simply our blind optimism, that we do not even wonder about whether these echoes will come back to haunt us. We forget our past so easily, beginning to dismiss warnings of danger as kit tales, created only to scare us into obedience of the law.
This is a continuation of one of those kit tales. This is a story so grand that soon, it will be seen as too great to be real and dismissed as fiction. But make no mistake, this is our reality. This is the tale of our ghosts come to stake their claim upon revenge.
This, is what happens when your shadows cling to your spine. ❞
sciamachy When Tempest’s mentor catches a deadly disease, she resorts to breaking the laws of her tribe to save him. In doing so, however, she and her fellow trainees unleash an evil kept dormant for generations. Faced against what seeks to destroy all that her ancestors fought so hard to preserve, the tribe has no choice but to fight for their own survival...they only wonder what the price will be.

1. Honestly, just the fact that they were well-written? The literacy level definitely attracted me, and the points were, overall, short and sweet to pass on just enough information.
2. I actually really like the hierarchy system! I hope it doesn't become an irrelevant detail like I've seen happen in some other rps involving hierarchy. I'm also fairly interested in the kind of environment the cats are living in, and seeing how their "purity" mentality will play out.
3. I'm not going to be amazingly active, but I'll be able to come on several times a week for a few hours. I will usually be online for quite a bit of the weekends.
4. This is kind of old, but I hope it's alright:
"Delta! C'mon, don't be boring!" Barkfern hadn't been expecting anyone out by the meadows of the neutral border. She'd left camp with another cat for hunting, but they'd split ways recently to find more prey. (Herself, she was looking to catch a fish or two, or maybe a field mouse if she found one.) When she heard voices up ahead, she wondered if splitting up had been a bad decision. Surely her clanmate wouldn't be too far off if she needed to call them back.... but then, the voices she heard sounded young, so maybe she wouldn't have to regardless. Kittypets, perhaps? She was surprised they'd gone this far from Twolegplace. They didn't seem to have noticed her yet. Treading forward cautiously, Barkfern sniffed the air and quickly rescinded her assessment. These were definitely loners, if their scent was anything to go by. Natural enough, but definitely not clan cats. Barkfern didn't mind loners too much, personally, if they were polite. So long as cats stayed behind the set boundaries, she couldn't care less what they were. But borders were borders, and trespassing would not be tolerated. Barkfern examined the duo with a curious eye. Judging by how the smaller cat kept glancing around, they were expecting to see someone. Were they waiting for a clan cat to show up? The she-cat couldn't think of many more explanations — any cat with a nose would have noticed the scent markers. Maybe these two were just pushing their luck. Her whiskers twitched in surprise as the bengal darted forward, dabbing a paw into the river in an experimental manner. HE certainly looked carefree; the tom obviously didn't take the clans very seriously. A glint of exasperation entered her gaze, and she ditched trying to keep her scent downwind to pad forward confidently. The loners barely looked to be of apprentice age, and with the stubby legs on the grey-and-white one, (and wasn't THAT a weird sight. Had his legs never grown after kithood?) she thought she could at least hold her own against them, despite their number advantage. Honestly, she was hoping this wouldn't escalate into a confrontation more for their sakes than her own. Coming to a stop some yards away, Barkfern set her cool gaze on the pair of toms and swished her tail lazily. "Hey mouse-brains!" she called out. "You're practically standing on the border, as I'm sure you know. Now, I'd hate for this to be boring...." BUT I'D RECOMMEND YOU BACK UP."
5. Nope! I'm all good.
{ Rasha } - - { Female } - - { 1 year, 6 moons } - - { Novice }
For all that Rasha is named for an obscure, deer-like creature, the young molly is neither especially delicate nor invisible. The she-cat is well-built, with particularly strong hind legs, and is slightly longer than she is tall. Her fur is of long length, with the silky hairs growing more prominent around her scruff and the base of her spine. (Rasha’s tail is, like many in the group, of the plumy sort.) Rasha's coat is a vivid hue of brown, run through with thick black stripes set in a mackerel tabby pattern. White is present on her toes and chest. The molly’s wide eyes are a bit harder to categorize in terms of color, as they hover somewhere between yellow and a light green. All in all, Rasha can be said to be an understated sort of pretty.
Though a little on the quiet side—more due to shyness than anything else—the she-cat’s friendly nature permeates the air around her. Rasha has always had a warm heart despite the frigid environment she grew up in. This makes it seem a little odd that she's training to be a protector, but one need only look at it with the perspective of protecting the extended family she grew up with. For all that Rasha is kind, however, she is also fairly pragmatic; she might be slower to make decisions, but mulling over situations in her head ensures that she's willing to stick with her decisions, and Rasha is the type to prefer doing what is best for the majority. blah blah blah blah

'Urf.'
The snowfall—if it could even be called that, really—that appeared this morning was more the light enough for the cats to patrol in. As it was, white flakes were drifting down at a soft, steady pace: enough to leave one covered in snow after a minute, but nothing that would truly hinder everyday activity or cause extreme discomfort. Thus, the dawn patrol she'd been recruited for continued on schedule.
Even if she lamented those last dredges of sleep, Rasha couldn't say she was very displeased with the outcome. The typical cat might complain about the falling snow hindering their senses, but Rasha found the soft weight of it on her fur comforting, and enjoyed the quiet crush beneath her pawsteps. Besides, the molly liked the soft light of the sky when the sun was rising.
Maybe she was just strange though, she thought, almost letting out a purr.
Shaking her head, Rasha realized she'd fallen a bit behind while observing their surroundings. She startled into a trot to catch up with the rest of the patrol.
❝Hey, don't leave me behind!❞
