Hope you can, too! I'm really quite proud of this story, and I want to know what everyone thinks of it. Please tell me what you think after you do get caught up I fear I may blink and wake up to find out I'm in college :/ I have to go, but the thought of college scares me. ugh.

I sure will. Eager to see what happens.
That jump from HS to college can be scary, and even scarier still is the jump from there to adulting-and getting a job. Looking back I would not want to repeat any of that. But I did have a short stint where I was working full time and going to college nights, until my beau came home from college. We started saving for a house. I bought a car in my name during that time, got credit, all the stuff one should do, yet I did not feel adult, until my future hubby and I moved out of his parents' house and bought our home. I was 29 years old! We married 5 years later to which everyone we knew said "its about damned time" That final break, moving out on our own was the final brick in becoming adult I think and I finally felt like one. It's been a long, strange trip. . .

I have anxiety, so literally everything is three times as scary, if not even worse. I don't know how I'm going to be able to do things in the world. I already had a job once, but it didn't last long before I had quit... Hopefully, I get a decent roommate and then job when I'm out of college.

They got much worse after a bad reaction to a medication, but I've always been anxious about change in life.

Yep once I had the panic attack on that medication it went into generalized anxiety-meaning everything scared me. I had ti get help it was so bad, but now most of the time I am ok.

Sorry about that. I'm glad things are a lot better now!
Mine falls into generalized and social anxiety, so I guess I have two different types. Lately, though, I think my anxiety has been acting up a lot more because I wake up after only a few hours of sleep. I don't think I'm having any real bad dreams either. It's just I wake up after only a few hours with the feeling of anxiety. I honestly don't know how I'm able to function at all when I'm so used to at least 10 hours a night.

That was the worst-jerking awake all night, unable to sleep. I still occasionally wake with anxiety but 99% of that is when the area above my degenerating neck disks swells up. I also stress more than I should over even routine doctor appointments. . .its an ongoing battle, but the medication does help. I cannot take anti-depressents-highly hypersensitive, but doc finally found an anti-anxiety med that works well and has for years now. The med gave me my life back. . .

Oh, I see. But I don't want meds. To me, they have too many risky side effects that I just don't want to deal with. I have some vitamins which the only side effect is drowsiness, but I don't usually take them. They're more for if I'm going out and having a lot of anxiety because of it. But I might just start taking them to help me sleep...

Sorry for the random tags. I'm updating the 'fans' section and just tagging people so if the name changes it updates on its own. If you don't want your name there then let me know.

Valium was bad as it just relaxed my muscles but did not do much for the anxiety. Avitan was the one that worked, and I am on a low dose. I tried the supplement St Johns Wort as it was supposed to be anti anxiety but it acted just like an antidepressant on me and gave me bad tremors and panic attacks. Lack of sleep makes anxiety worse I think. . .

I've had St. John's Wort for depression. Yeah, it's not so good for anxiety...

I've had St. John's Wort for depression. Yeah, it's not so good for anxiety... Might work for some but it was horrid for me and ONE Paxil pill almost put me in the ER one horible night. Found out the hard way about that hypersensitivity!

Oh, that sounds really bad :/
I think you're right about the lack of sleep thing, too. I think my anxiety is keeping me up, but that's just making the anxiety worse in general. Oh gosh.

Thanks, Thorn! You'll be seeing a lot more of her for the rest of the story, and a good many questions shall be answered.
