The king narrowed his eyes. "I'm sure whoever you pick will be a good queen," he murmured.
A knight showed up at Ari's door just as he was finishing up packing. "Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm almost done," he said after noticing the knight. "So, are they leaving me to wander into exile on my own or something?" he asked, headed out the door. The guard shook his head. "Actually... they ordered Sir Aaron to escort you, since he is to take your place capt- I mean, Ari." Ari raised an eyebrow. "Oh. Ok. So I guess that means he's returned..."

Gonna be poofy]]
Ari adjusted the strap of his bag on his shoulder and headed outside, taking his time getting to the front gate. At first he didn't think anyone was waiting there yet, but as he got closer he could see the glimmer of his friend's golden hair. "Took you long enough to get back here," he sneered, giving his friend a playful elbow jab.
"'Least I didn't get exiled," Aaron responded, quickly covering up his mouth as he hiccuped.

Ari gave Aaron a questioning look, noticing his friend was swaying slightly, and facepalmed. "You did not spend all day at the tavern," he said, sighing. "And with Lisa, too?"
Aaron hiccuped again. He laughed a little, scratching at the back of his head. "Hehe, maaaaaybe~"
"You're the next knight captain, you know. You could stand to improve your behavior a little. Now let's get me out of here before they think of something worse," he muttered. He started walking, shaking his head as his friend clumsily stubmled alongside him. "I can't believe you."

Aaron stood at his usual post outside the main gate. He switched it up from time to time, but the main gate got the most people passing through so it was the most eventful place. It had been a few months since his friend had gotten exiled, and life hadn't been as entertaining. He did see Lisa quite often, which was a plus, but he wasn't as close with the rest of the knights... and Ari's older brother kinda scared him.

Aaron spun around as soon as he heard Lisa's voice, eyes wide. "What? In the dungeon? Why on earth...?"

"Seriously?!" Aaron blurted out. "Seems like a weird place to keep your fiance, but I wouldn't put it past him to be honest. Anyway, we need to find Ari. Last I heard he was seen near the city I escorted him to... hopefully he's still there... Come on." He reached out for Lisa's hand before pulling her to the horse stables.

"You mean you don't want to share one?" Aaron joked, pulling over two horses after they reached the stables. He got the saddles and reins ready before hopping on and waiting for Lisa.

Aaron flashed a smile. "Right this way milady," he said. He gave the horse a quick nudge and took off galloping in the direction of the town.

Double wedding! xD]]
It took many hours, but they eventually reached the city where Ari was dropped off. Aaron tied the horses to a tree just outside city lines before heading in and asking around, describing Ari as accurately as he could to anyone that would listen. After dozens of people turning him down, finally one person recognized the description. "Oh, his name is short, right? Ari was it?" the older man asked. Aaron's face lit up. "Yes! That's him! Have you seen him??" he asked excitedly. The man inched away from Aaron, a little intimidated by the younger man's energy. "U-Um I believe he was staying at the other edge of town. He doesn't travel downtown here very often."

xD]]
The townspeople in the area all turned to look at Lisa with a mix of confused and concerned faces. There was silence for what seemed like forever. "Lisa, I really don't think - " Aaron started, but was cut off by the light tapping of boots against the ground. "MAYBE IF YOU ASK NICELY I WILL," came the response, its location hard to pinpoint at first. The sound of boots grew louder, until Ari was standing before the two of them. His hair was a bit longer and messier, and his clothes a little worn, but other than that he was the same Ari. "You trying to tell the whole world I'm here or something? If I get in trouble because of this - " Ari was cut off as Aaron tackled him. "You're still alive! Lisa! He's still alive!"

Ari shoved Aaron away and stepped up to Lisa. "What did you say? He's seriously doing that?!" he snapped, a look of intense anger on his face.
"Yeah, I was surprised about it too. We came to get you as soon as we heard, thought now would be a good time to stop him," Aaron replied, getting to his feet.

'I can do it," Ari replied immdeiately. He glanced at the sword on his hip. "I haven't been sitting around idle all these months."
Aaron grinned. "So it's settled then?"
"Did I stutter?" Ari sent back.

"Got it," Ari replied. He followed Aaron and Lisa to the horses and hopped onto the one Lisa had ridden.
Aaron climbed onto the horse, and held his hand out to help Lisa up.

Ari raised an eyebrow. "What's up with you two?" he asked. "Um. Nothing," Aaron stuttered. "Whatever." Ari whipped the reigns and the horse took off, dashing over the hill. "Hey! Do you even remember how to get back?" Aaron called, quickly catching up. "Of course I do."
