I got something to say about this. Ashfur had literally no family to confide in after squirrelflight dumped him for the piece of garbage known as brambleclaw. Ferncloud didn't do NOTHING after he got dumped, and even AFTER Ashfur was murdered? FERNCLOUD. DIDN'T.DO.NOTHING.
Also, If you read Hollyleaf's story and the forgotten warrior, she knew very well what she was doing, and fully meant to do what she did when she murdered ashfur. To be honest, I freaking hated Hollyleaf the entire time she was an active character... mostly because she was a goddamn, self-centered, selfish BRAT! sorry about the language, but it's true! She murdered him, (read Hollyleaf's story, it gives you a flashback of what happened.) Told EVERYONE about the secret they'd been trying to keep (which makes all of them know better than squirrelflight or leafpool), and after spilling the beans, she tried to kill ANOTHER, yes ANOTHER cat! like god damn, this is a seriously messed up cat! AND AFTER THAT? she LEFT. She left, and didn't even care to take any blame, or even own up to it. also, "I felt like you guys didn't need me aymore! is the weakest freaking excuse I've ever heard, especially from someone who did stuff as horrible as what hollyleaf did. And THEN? (yes, there's more
 (Big Grin)) SHE TOTALLY LIED ABOUT EVERYTHING. She accepted brambleclaw's lie about what she did to ashfur, disgracing his name yet again, and what's even worse? The whole clan thought ashfur deserved what he got! Like... dude.... just what the HECK is wrong with you hollyleaf!?! what happened to you wasn't even that bad! having awful parets is better than having no parents at all, which is ashfur's case because his parents (both of them) died! Like... dude. Your parents loved you(except crowfeather cuz apparently doesn't exist.) so much! But you were a jerk to them, a jerk to ashfur, and your littermates! Ye put tigerstar to shame ):T but anyway, forget the ranting of a stupid ashfur sympathizer :T

while yes, ashfur didn't deserve the sympathy his poor euphoric speckled self got, it was kind of well-deserved that he didn't after he attempted to straight up easy bake three cats alive in memorial of a relationship that wasn't entitled to him, abused his apprentice, and assisted in the act of beating firestar up with his homie, son of tigerstar, hawkfrost. i don't really think ashfur deserves sympathy at all, because frankly, it was just around the corner for him to actually SUCCEED in killing someone. "wait, couldn't've been talked out? murder is bad; hollyleaf is satan!" yeah, murder wasn't probably the best solution, but has just having a therapy session really ever worked to turn around a villian in this series?? ashfur was never keen on forgiving anyone for squirrelflight friend-zoning him ( not really on the topic, but i just wanna mention how possessive he was torwards her and tried his best to block brambleclaw out of her cold, dead earshot ).
i'm not saying hollyleaf is the most correct in her actions, but i'm not going to say hollyleaf was "a bad character". she did a lot of things wrong, but once she realized what she did was unquestionably wrong, she attempted her best to redeem herself (not saying murder or attempted murder is redeemable, but she tried). she is one of my favorite cats, and i think her flaws defined her as the character she was; like ashfur, but in many different ways.

Ashfur has ashy knees which tremendously demonstrates a deficit appreciation of moisturizing. This can be affiliated to his dislike of RiverClan. It can also be shown when he thinks it's acceptable to go die in a stream.
And Ferncloud did provide him with assistance in finding a satisfactory lotion product. Even providing kits to burn, gel for his emo hair, hair ties for his pigtails and even health class. But he declined most of these, the exception being the possession of egregious commodities like fur ties for pigtails (to advocate for animal cruelty)To have the Ashyfurry (or just ashfur to diminish the pestilence title length) on Ashfur knees could be damaging to ambulate hind extremities. Without emo hair we can't have a proper representation of high quality anime adapted from mango. The mango was better because mainstream opinions matter(Ashfur would disagree because he'd die in that too) and citrus can give vitamins that activate. Without health class you are committing sacrilege against the practices performed by medicine cats, who are religious leaders. This is abuse.
