For time immemorial, the Dark Forest and StarClan have been locked in an interal and eternal war. They typically do not fight each other directly, but rather they influence the living into joining their ranks. Unknown to them, by doing this, they are setting in motion the beginning of the end. Armies will rise, realms will fall, and heroes will be born out of the bloodshed.
Regardless if a cat has faded, they will one day be resurrected from their spiritual slumber (which was either peace or pain) and will engage in the true judgement day. There can only be one winner, and either side will do whatever it takes to make sure they are the victor.
All cats participating in this final showdown do not do so by choice. This end fight - this war to end all wars - was predetermined countless moons ago by the Ancients.
But not all cats are happy with this prophecy. Call them disloyal or distracted all you like, but these rare individuals are determined to find a place where free will and choice exists among the sea of omens... and the eventual ocean of blood.
There are only 5 such cats in existence, with one belonging to each Clan. Only one has yet been revealed: Violetsky; the other four are currently being saught after. The Dark Forest wishes to corrupt them for their own ends, whilst StarClan is hell-bent on destroying them, deeming them too dangerous to exist. Let's give them a name. As of now, they will be called the Defectors. Anyway, each Defector is trying to learn who they are and if there are others like them.
A Defector is no ordinary StarClan- or Dark Forest Warrior. Unlike the others, they seek refuge from the constant struggle, and aspire to build a sanctuary for themselves. This world will sadly not exist in the mortal world - what's dead is dead and what's gone is gone - but rather they will experience it in their dreams. In the Forest of Peace, each will awaken, and in this harmonic place they will gather - drawn to a centralized location by some unexplainable force (one that is stronger than instinct itself) - and the future of all things will rest upon their shoulders.
During each full moon, all five cats will return to the same location and, in the process, strengthen the world conjured in but their own minds... and one day, it will be stable enough for them to live in it perpetually.
But time is running short. Countless cats from both sides are being resurrected to prepare for the coming battle, even those who should rightfully be gone forever. The last, final wave of destruction that, as the prophecy dictates, will spell doom for either side is coming. If these five Defector cats do not act soon and seek out their most out-of-reach dream - THE Dream, representing hope itself - all will surely fall. StarClan, the Dark Forest,... even the Clans. Saving them is no longer an option; the only thing they can do is save themselves.
WELCOMING CEREMONY
Welcome to my - or should I say "our" - RP! Please stick around, please do! There is plenty more to see and so much to look forward to. So, without further ado, let's get onto it. But first, please wash up. It appears you have some dirt caught in between your paws. No offense, but it looks like you haven't washed yourself in a while. (Just kidding.)
THE DEFECTORS
The Defectors were a name given to the five special individuals by both StarClan and Dark Forest cats alike. Each Defector was once born into one of the five Clans - ThunderClan, ShadowClan, RiverClan, WindClan, and SkyClan - but died many, many moons ago; coincidentally, all by the same cause: by challenging authority for the greater good and giving the ultimate sacrifice for it. These cats represent neither pure good nor ultimate evil; they are the offspring of a new kind of breed of cat. Not a physical cat as you would think, but rather the Defectors exist outside of the normal boundaries that differentiate StarClan Warriors from Dark Forest Warriors; they just don't know it yet.
There is nothing truly remarkable about these cats at all in fact, excluding the Prophecy that was bestowed upon them long before they were born and ages after they died. But does that mean that only the Prophecy defines them?
It is not known why these five cats were chosen. The deeds they each committed before their untimely ends were indeed heroic, but nothing unheard of. All that the Ancients cannot deny is the uncanny strength of their souls. Each of these cats just refuse to fade away into nothingness, even if they wanted to.
Only one of these cats have been identified thus far, as there are many candidates. Violetsky is the first of the five, and with her discovery, the others will surely show themselves in her wake with great haste.
The Defectors do not know they are special for a long time... That is, until they begin to have at first unsettling dreams which quickly turn into an island of refuge.
THE DREAM
Upon first entering the Dream, the five chosen ones are scared and lost. Throughout the course of several visits, they begin to get to know their surroundings and, as a result (which cannot be explained), they stay in the Dream for a little bit longer each time. Each of the five do not receive the Dreams at the same intervals, but slowly, a pattern begins to emerge. In the fourth dream, a captivating firefly that emits an eerie ghostly blue light appears in each of the cats' Dreams, and an overwhelming force drives them to follow it. Before they catch the firefly, they always awaken, but with each revisit, the dream extends by a couple precious minutes.
Eventually, each cat reaches the same destination: an open clearing in the middle of the forest, and at its center, five large, flat stones placed in a rough semi-circle. Located in the middle of the flat stones is a towering crystal-like formation, emitting the surrounding area in a soft purple hue.
Each of the Defectors that arrive quickly realize they are not alone, and finally, each of the five cats arrive.
The night that all the cats arrive at the same time (the Dream is in perpetual nighttime, as it is still in its infancy), a mysterious spirit cat appears in front of them and tells them what they must do. Like they already have been doing, at each full moon, they must continue to return to the same clearing... and they must make conversation. They all must tell each other who they are (but NEVER where they come from, to reduce the chance of tensions rising between them), what they believe their purpose is, and, most important of all, what they see as a perfect world. At the end of each meeting (lasting approximately 12 minutes), they each must touch the crystal at the center of the clearing with their noses, close their eyes and remember everything they had shared with each other.
They eventually agree to obey these instructions, and thus they all do what is asked of them. Unknown to the five Defectors, what they are doing - by making contact with the crystal and remembering their dream - is a very powerful action. (Not to mention a very powerful experience.)
The crystal feeds off of their souls, slowly transporting them to their fictional world of harmony... but that will not be enough. The spirits that begin to appear - transparent duplicates of their already partially see-through bodies - are nothing but hollow shells wandering the landscape. If the actual souls of the five Defectors are to be transported into these vessels, they must visit the Dream as often as possible and completely convince themselves that this place is not only possible, but it is REAL.
You may be asking as a reader, what is the point of all this? {Password: starlight}
Innumerable generations ago, StarClan and the Dark Forest were created, and at the same time, the End Prophecy came to be. The End Prophecy dictates that when the end approaches (the timeline was/is too vague to calculate), many long-forgotten and long-lost cats from both sides will be born again [in death], and the final war must take place to secure equilibrium. Unknown to either side however, the final battle that they will participate in... will truly be the end. First, the five Clans will be caught in the crossfire, and will ultimately perish. After that, all warrior ancestors across all the different Clans and Tribes in the world will converge on the battlefields for the last battle. At the final day, there will only be two cats left standing - one StarClan Warrior and one Dark Forest Warrior - and they will end up killing themselves. It is then that the Place of No Stars, StarClan, The Tribe of Endless Hunting, and all other spiritual cats will vanish, and the realms that they inhabited with them.
In order to preserve what would otherwise be lost forever, the five Defectors were conceived. It is their sole duty to create a world for themselves (with the aid of one of the Ancients) and to remove themselves from all codes that formerly binded them. It is ironic, really; they must follow a prophecy in order to relinquish it.
TIMELINE: These series of events occur LONG after the fading of Firestar from StarClan. (This is but a simple measuring stick; Firestar plays as a significant role in the final battle as any other cat.)
RULES
- The standard WCRP rules
- Please no one-liners! I expect at least
3-4 paragraphs per post per person please
- No cats with unusual pelt colors, wings, etc. Try to make them realistic
- No god modding, kit stealing, etc.
- No Mary/Gary Sues. Each cat must have at least two flaws, even if they are small ones. It become rather uninteresting, unrealistic and overpowered if any cat is perfect
- Don't kill, use, etc. someone else's character without their permission
- Try not to make your character the center of attention
- Please try to be at least fairly active. If you disappear and are not heard from (in this RP) for two weeks, I will send you a PM. If you do not respond within one week, your character(s) will either be deleted, given to someone else to RP as, or their activity will be postponed. However, if you notify me that you will be leaving beforehand, I will either postpone your character or have someone else take over their role, depending if they are a Defector or not.
- Each person participating is REQUIRED to RP as one of the Defectors, and if you wish to RP as StarClan Warriors and Dark Forest Warriors, note that this is also encouraged
- LGBTQ characters are allowed. Just because of the nature of the plot suggests that romance won't be involved, don't let that fool you! Your character is free to be in a relationship with a cat (even with one of the Defectors), but only include it as a sub-plot. Romance should not be the driving force in this RP
- Please do not make any serious plot changes without my permission. At the same time though, don't let the storyline limit you and your imagination! The plot is not a brick wall, but rather the basic blueprint of this RP. If you are unsure of the exact plot of the RP, please PM me and I will fill you in. Just remember though that nothing is set in stone, and plans are always subject to change!
- Have fun!

A fun fact about the Dream, and beyond it:
Once a cat enters the Dream, they are still as dead as they were before. However, if they ever wished the increase the number of cats within it, the cats within the Dream can visit the dreams of mortal cats and form a subconscious connection with them. When the cat they have chosen to observe dies, the cats within the Dream give them the choice to either come and stay with them, or to let their spirit "venture into the unknown [where neither party would no longer have control over the cat's destiny].
Does a cat ever fade from the Dream as they did in StarClan or the Place of No Stars? No. If that were to happen, a similar scenario that once involved the Dark Forest, StarClan, and the many other warrior ancestors could happen again. Therefore, once a cat remains inside the Dream for long enough, they are given a choice: either to cease to exist, or they can be reincarnated in the mortal world. If they choose the latter, they will be reborn with a clean slate - they will retain no memories of the Dream, and once they die, their fate is unknown.
I do hope you join!
Regardless if a cat has faded, they will one day be resurrected from their spiritual slumber (which was either peace or pain) and will engage in the true judgement day. There can only be one winner, and either side will do whatever it takes to make sure they are the victor.
